Family of six dies in road accident

MEERUT: A family of six, including four children, died after their car hit a stationary truck on Khurja road in Bulandshahr on Thursday afternoon. While Rajesh Saini and Manju, the couple sitting on the front seats, died on the spot, their four children succumbed to injuries in the hospital.

The family was returning from a temple at Gulaothi in Bulandshahr and were on their way to Khurja when the accident took place.

"The family was travelling in an Indica car. Rajesh and Manju died on the spot while their kids, namely, Sakshi (13), Uditi (11), Gungun (8) and Shivang (8 months) died in the hospital they were admitted to," said Anupam Singh, station officer, Khurja Dehat police station.

The accident took place opposite Madhu Sudhan dairy on Khurja road at 4pm. The dead bodies have been sent for postmortem and an FIR has been filed in the matter, police told TOI.
