Graduate Applications

About to graduate as a health practitioner?

Students due to complete an Australian approved program of study can smooth the path from study to work by following the five steps to registration for graduates.

Step 1

Students apply for registration four to six weeks before completing their course (provisional psychologist applicants to have completed an accredited program of study within the last 10 years).

Step 2

Applicants fill out an online application (if eligible) or download an application form. All applications require some documents to be sent to AHPRA by mail to complete the application.

Step 3

Education providers advise AHPRA when applicants are eligible to graduate (not applicable to provisional psychologist applicants).

Step 4

AHPRA finalises assessment, confirms registration, publishes new graduates’ names on the national register of practitioners and sends out registration certificates.

Step 5

New graduates registered with their profession’s National Board are eligible to start work as soon as their name is published on the national register.

If you are an enrolled nurse who is due to complete an approved program of study that will qualify you for registration as a registered nurse apply via the Enrolled to registered nurse or midwife applications page.

You may be required to apply for an International criminal history check prior to completing your online graduate application. For further information, please refer to the International criminal history checks page.

Please note that you will need a Visa or Mastercard credit or debit card to apply online.
