http://www.expedia.com/Darwin-and-vicinity.d6131317.Destination-Travel-Guides Darwin is the capital of the Northern Territory, in the “top end” of Australia. Traditionally the home of the Larrakia People, Darwin was settled by Europeans in 1869. The city’s isolation has meant that its population has always been low, which is just the way its laid-back residents like it. On Thursdays and Sundays, locals and visitors head to the Mindil Beach Markets to shop, dance and enjoy foods from all over the world. At sunset, head down to the beach as the sun dips into the Arafura Sea, then catch a movie under the stars at the Deck Chair Cinema. Learn about the city’s military history, at the Defense of Darwin Experience and the Australian Aviation Heritage Centre. At the Darwin Museum and Art Gallery, discover the region’s local cultures and unique natural environment. To experience the Northern Territory’s most fearsome residents, pay a visit to Crocodylus Park and Crocosaurus Cove, home to some of the largest captive saltwater crocodiles on the planet. There are over 20 national parks in the Darwin region, including popular Litchfield National Park. Just an hour and a half from Darwin, Litchfield is set around a sandstone plateau, crisscrossed by deep, narrow gorges filled with monsoon forests, waterfalls and croc-free swimming holes. Kakadu National Park is a three-hour drive from Darwin. Half the size of Switzerland and home to one-third of Australia’s bird species and some of the world’s oldest rock art, Kakadu is more than a national park, it’s a national treasure.
When deciding on a base in Southeast Asia we carefully thought about where to go. Soon it became a no brainer that Chiang Mai would be the perfect fit. Considering how affordable it is to live there in tandem with the amazing dining options certainly won us offer. Moreover, the Chiang Mai offers numerous top attractions and things to do. In our latest travel guide we attempt to highlight as many of our favorite attractions in Chiang Mai as possible: 1) Chiang Mai is famous for its night markets. We suggest starting off at the Sunday Night Market which is best explored from Thapea Gate. From handicrafts to silverware and from souvenirs to silks, you'll shop until you drop. In my opinion, an even better thing to do at the market is to indulge in as much Thai street food as possible. 2) Elephant tourism runs rampant in and around Chiang Mai. Unfortunately, the well being of the elephants is rarely a consideration. Visiting the Elephant Nature Park, known as an elephant sanctuary and rehabilitation center, is somewhere you can go to interact with elephants knowing full well they are being taken care of and not exploited. A trip to the park is a memorable experience that is both incredibly fun and extremely education. 3) From the roof of our apartment building we had often had unobstructed views of Doi Suthep. It was only a matter of time before we decide to take a Songthaew up to explore it on foot. Although it is very touristy, it is still well worth a visit - especially for the views of Chiang Mai! 4) Few cuisines are more famous around the world than Thai food. While you're in Chiang Mai be sure to take a cooking class to learn how to make all of your favorite Thai dishes. An even better idea is to go to the countryside where you can have a more authentic and rural cooking experience. 5) Although I love the Sunday Night Market my favorite night market in Chiang Mai happens on Saturday. Possibly because it is only a stone throw away from where we lived in Chiang Mai, I just enjoyed wandering through the maze of people and shops to eat as much Thai street food as possible. 6) You can't visit Chiang Mai without trying its most famous Northern Thai dish - Khao Soi. Crispy and soft noodles float around in a coconut milk base with various vegetables. It's delicious and one of the cheapest meal options in the city! 7) When you have time - and a friend to go with - reserve a table at a restaurant that specializes in Khantoke sets. Served with sticky rice and a plethora of small dishes you'll get a real sense of what Northern Thai food is all about. 8) Wander around the neighborhoods outside of the city center. A big part of why Chiang Mai is so charming has to do with its various neighborhoods. Get off the beaten path and just go explore around. Here we show you our neighborhood, which is not far from Chiang Mai South Gate. When visiting Montreal consider the following top 35 things to do in Montreal as a travel video guide for all of the best attractions in the city. There is no other city in Canada or the United States of America that can compare with Montreal in terms of its diversity and European flare. As a city of festivals (during the winter, fall, spring and summer) you're left with an inexhaustible amount of things to see and do in the city during all four seasons. Compared to other Canadian cities, Montreal offers world class arts, dining, architecture, entertainment, arts and festivals showcasing the best of Canadian culture and Canadian food. On Sunday afternoons you'll find a huge drumming circle on the east end of Mount Royal called Tam Tams. McGill University is one of the most prestigious universities in all of Canada. Poutine, a French Canadian dish, it is basically french fries with gravy and cheese curds on top. For a taste of French charm, wander down the cobbled streets of Old Montreal. For fine dining and shopping in trendy boutiques, you can pop into the Bonsecours Market. Habitat 67 is a unique housing complex and is an architectural landmark. Whether you visit Montreal in the summer or winter, there are always festivals going on. Tonight we're at the Cirque du Soleil for a circus performance. The biodome is a popular attraction for families with children. Olympic Stadium is the former home of the Montreal Expos. The botanical gardens are home to beautiful gardens. Having now visited Quebec City in both the summer and winter I'm officially naming it our favorite city in Canada. I've never visited a city where I felt such a radical difference between seasons. Coming back here in the winter felt like falling in love and rediscovering Quebec City all over again. We bundled up early on a Sunday morning to wander around the Old City before the masses converged. We ended up walking (or should I say sliding/skating) down Petit Champlain marveling at all of the festive and Christmas decorations before warming up next to a fire and then grabbing a hot chocolate, Nanaimo bar and cookies. Later we wandered down to the Saint Lawrence where we could see massive chunks of ice floating down the river. Finally, we checked out a few different vantage points where we could admire some of the best city views and snap photos of the Château Frontenac. Winter in Quebec City Travel Guide Video Transcript: Faster, horses! Faster! And how is the ice princess this morning? Doing very well. This morning we are heading in to the Old City. We're going to do a bit of a walking tour on our own. Let's head into town and check it out. We are about to enter the old city. There are real benefits to waking up early on a Sunday morning. We've practically got the old part of the city to ourselves. And what a different feel. In the summer it had a totally different vibe and now in the winter it's like an entirely new city to explore. So I just noticed there are railings all along the street and I think it is because it is so steep and it gets so icy in the wintertime that if they didn't have these babies people would just be sliding all the way down. Well, we've been sliding a lot anyways. Yes. So it is kind of cool being here in the winter because even though it is February it still feels like Christmas never left. Like we still have Christmas trees, Christmas lights, lots of red. So it feels very festive. Absolutely. We found a little place where to warm up. There is a little outdoor fireplace. It is our own personal fire place. And we really need it after all that walking. Put your legs up by the fire. It's a dragon! It's a snow dragon! A fire breathing dragon. Alright, it is time to warm up. Let's go for a hot chocolate and maybe even a cupcake. Yum yum. Lead the way. How is that hot chocolate? Mmmm. That is so good after that really really cold walk. Alright, it's time to lick your lips. You've got cream all over your face. There you go. That's some kind of classic Canadian food. Here we've got Nanaimo bars. Audrey is digging in. Very Canadian. Let's have that first bite. Mmmm. Sweet enough for you? It's such a nice breakfast. And I've got fudge and Bonhomme de Carnaval. And this guy has been really nice to me but unfortunately I'm going to have to take a bite out of his head. Sorry, Bonhomme. Does he taste good? He does. What do you have over there? And the last indulgence of the day - we've got pure maple sugar fudge. I'm not surprised you would go for that. You're always looking for fudge wherever we go. I don't have anything to say - it's just pure bliss. Now if you can believe it we were bonkers enough to be doing ice canoeing out in the Saint Lawrence with those massive chunks of ice. It was just one of the craziest things we've ever done. We can't wait to show you that video as well. So now we're working our way up to the Chateau Frontenac. That means climbing a lot of steps. I'm already out of breath. We still have a few more to go. Lead the way. It's a little steep and slippery over here. I almost feel like I could go snowboarding. Do it. Do it. And the concludes our walking tour of Old Quebec. Now we're going to head back to our hotel, warm up a little bit and get ready to do some more exploring in the afternoon. This is part of our Travel in Canada series. We're making a series of videos showcasing Canadian culture, Canadian arts, Canadian foods, Canadian religion, Canadian cuisine and Canadian people. During our time backpacking and traveling around Asia we spent more time in Thailand than any other country in SE Asia and for good reason. Unlike most tourists who visit Thailand, we decided to skip most of the beaches located in the southern regions of the country and instead focus most of our time in Northern Thailand. Chiang Mai, our home away from home, became our base for several months and by the time we left we promised ourselves we'd return again in the near future. What makes Chiang Mai such a great base for foreigners? Firstly, it's cheap. You can find high quality serviced apartments for under $500 (some are less than $300) that offer modern amenities and are in located in close proximity to the old square of the city. Secondly, the food – both Thai and International – offers as much diverse selection as any city I've ever visited. If you want to gormandize on authentic Thai delights you'll have no shortage of options ranging from Thai street food to high class Thai restaurants. For the culture vulture, no shortage of opportunities exist to explore temples such as Doi Suthep, markets such as the Saturday night market or interact with animals such as at the Elephant Nature Park. When you get tired of Chiang Mai, the sleepy hillside town of Pai awaits where the pace is slower and you feel more like you're out in the countryside. Whether you love it or hate it, most journeys in Thailand begin and end in Bangkok. This steamy chaotic city offers some incredible temples to explore (such as Wat Arun and the Temple of the Mount) along with great shopping and nightlife. We caught the ferry over to Savaii to spend a few days. There are fales dotted all along the coastline so we thought that the best way to get in and experience the local lifestyle was to actually stay in a traditional fale. We stayed at Tanu Beach Fales and they provided a mattress and mosquito net and we slept right by the waters edge and went to sleep with the sound of the water lapping up on the sand. There is a lot to explore on this huge island and we visit the Saleaula Lava Field, swim with turtles at Satoalepai, throw coconuts in to the blow holes, cross the swinging bridge at Falealupo Canopy Walkway and hang out with some of the locals. You can find beautiful romantic resorts in Savaii and we stayed at Le Lagoto Resort with a elegant mix of traditional and modern decor. As soon as you walk in to this resort you know you are in a tropical paradise. A wonderful experience not to missed is their Sunday church service. Being a highly Christian country, there are churches of every denomination and Sunday is their day of church, family and rest. See the locals in their beautiful Sunday best and singing from the heart with their angelic voices. And at the end of the day we head to Falealupo Beach which is at the western most point of Samoa to see the first sunset in the world. Take a picnic and enjoy your stunning surrounds.

What do you do on your first day in your destination when you are jet-lagged and exhausted? Rushing from one historical monument or tourist attraction to the next on that first day sounds no fun. And staying in the hotel room all day is a no-no! So what do we do? In this video from Sevilla on my first full day in town, I was asking myself this very question. But lucky for me some cheerful locals came to my rescue. I met David, Javi, Anna and Jose-Antonio out for a typical, lazy, Sunday afternoon in Sevilla during the Spring. Turns out it was the perfect itinerary to distract me from my jet-lag and immerse me into local life. In the video we get a glimpse into the neighborhood of Alameda de Hercules. This part of town has a cultural energy that is really special. Not long ago it was known as a rough neighborhood. But Sevilla has been going through a transformation over the last few decades and this area has been revived as a hub for dining, living and gathering. Along the Alameda you can find locals enjoying themselves all day and all week long. During the weekend and holiday evenings the promenade is busy well into the night. It seems all demographics, young to old, can be found here intermingling. And in this neighborhood, you will find few tourists in comparison to the Jewish Quarter. This means you'll get an authentic perspective on local life. For info on where we ate and how to book an experience just like this come to the corresponding post on Travelwithkate.com: http://travelwithkate.com/2014/07/02/curing-jet-lag-with-tapas-in-sevilla-video/ PHOTO CREDIT: In the Travel with Kate opening sequence, the image behind Kate eating sushi (not of Kate) is by photographer Trey Ratcliff of http://www.stuckincustoms.com/

Cali is known in Colombia as the capital of fiestas, street partying, dancing, and salsa as Cali's Salsa Clubs are among the most famous in the entire continent. Among many other things you can experience on your vacations, the people from Cali have developed a playful and hedonistic culture in harmony with the natural surroundings and country life. Cali is a great place for tourism and leisure. The capital of the department of Valle del Cauca has become a mecca for tourism thanks to the beauty of its women, its historical sites, and a multitude of spots for day and night entertainment. Cali is one of the major economic and industrial centers of the country, and the main urban, economic, industrial, and agrarian city of southwest Colombia. On Sundays, the caleños worship rivers. They go en masse to bathe in the cool streams and rivers that flow down the hills, the favorite being the Pance river. The daring walk upstream to the campgrounds of the Fundación Farallones, where guides are always ready to tour the park with visitors. Lodging is available for extended stays in the park. Cultural activities for holidays In the evening, the devotion turns to dancing. In Juanchito, Cali's Salsa hotspot, humble mulatto floorboards have become "dance-o-dromes", where tourists and locals come together to dance until dawn. The climax occurs during the Feria de la Caña and the Bullfighting Season, at the beginning of the year. Cultural activities flourish around centers like the Instituto Departamental de Arte y Cultura, the Instituto Popular de Cultura, the Teatro Municipal, the Museo de Arte Moderno La Tertulia, the Sala Beethoven, the Escuela Departamental de Teatro, and the Universidad del Valle. The traditional cuisine of Cali and the department of Valle del Cauca can be easily identified. It is a fusion of the region's Spanish, Quechua, and African heritage with the culinary secrets of Antioquia. Favorites are the sancocho de gallina (hen stew), arroz atollado (pork sausage, beef ribs, and oxtail in a rice stew), tortilla soup, aborrajado (ripe plantain with melted cheese), toasted green plantain with hogao (a stir-fry of onions and tomatoes), and tamales. Sugarcane plantations inspired a variety of desserts such as cookies, manjar blanco, gelatina de pata (cow's hoof gelatin with molasses), coconut sweets and champús, a beverage made from corn, the pulp of the lulo fruit, pieces of pineapple, cinnamon, and brown sugar syrup.

The Providence Journal 2015-03-29Sunday (i/ˈsʌndeɪ/ or /ˈsʌndi/) is the day of the week between Saturday and Monday. For most Christians, Sunday is observed as a day for worship of God and rest, due to the belief that it is Lord's Day, the day of Christ's resurrection.
Sunday is a day of rest in most Western countries, part of 'the weekend'. In most Muslim countries, and Israel, Sunday is a working day.
According to the Hebrew calendars, traditional Christian calendars, Sunday is literally the "first day" of the week. According to the International Organization for Standardization ISO 8601 Sunday is the seventh and last day of the week.
No century in the Gregorian calendar starts on a Sunday, whether its first year is '00 or '01. The Jewish New Year never falls on a Sunday. (The rules of the Hebrew calendar are designed such that the first day of Rosh Hashanah will never occur on the first, fourth, or sixth day of the Jewish week; i.e., Sunday, Wednesday, or Friday).
The English noun Sunday derived sometime before 1250 from sunedai, which itself developed from Old English (before 700) Sunnandæg (literally meaning "sun's day"), which is cognate to other Germanic languages, including Old Frisian sunnandei, Old Saxon sunnundag, Middle Dutch sonnendach (modern Dutch zondag), Old High German sunnun tag (modern German Sonntag), and Old Norse sunnudagr (Danish and Norwegian søndag, Icelandic sunnudagur and Swedish söndag). The Germanic term is a Germanic interpretation of Latin dies solis ("day of the sun"), which is a translation of the Ancient Greek heméra helíou. The p-Celtic Welsh language also translates the Latin "day of the sun" as dydd Sul.
Linsey Dawn McKenzie (born 7 August 1978) is an English glamour model, pornographic actress, and television personality who made her topless modelling debut in The Sunday Sport tabloid newspaper on her 16th birthday in 1994. Known for her naturally large 34GG breasts, she went on to feature in a wide range of adult-oriented magazines, websites, broadcast media, and videos, including hardcore pornography productions after 2000.
She has attained minor celebrity status in the United Kingdom, where she has appeared on a number of mainstream television programmes, such as They Think It's All Over, I'm Famous and Frightened!, The Weakest Link, and Celebrity Four Weddings. She has also appeared in documentaries about the lives of glamour models and was featured in Martin Gooch's 2002 film Arthur's Amazing Things.
In early 1994, when McKenzie was 15, she sent sample glamour photographs to local modelling agencies. Soon invited for professional photoshoots, she began her career by doing clothed glamour and swimsuit work, intending to progress to topless modelling when she turned 16 later that year.
