Subscribe to Journeyman for daily uploads: http://www.youtube.com/journeymanpictures For more on the cost of hosting the world cup: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pJK-k4Ivw-A In Qatar, 4000 workers will die to put on the 2022 Football World Cup. This staggering figure indicates the slave-like conditions workers of football's most expensive construction are enduring. Workers won’t speak out for fear of being fired, but for some, hopelessness outweighs the fear. Qatarian workers building in Qatar for the 2022 World Cup are forced into long hours on the side of roads or inside factories in the sweltering heat. Their living situations are just as trying: “We have been here for 2 months. And for 2 months we haven’t been given beds.” These workers entered into pseudo slavery due the loans they took to travel that they can’t afford to pay back, as the hope of the income they were promised was a lie. They can’t return home, and if they’re sick “the company cut [their] salary for going to the hospital”. Infocus take an inside look at the conditions of these impoverished and undervalued workers that risk overworking to the point of death, for fear of unemployment. Press TV

SEOUL, SOUTH KOREA — The World Health Organization is warning that the outbreak of Middle East Respiratory Syndrome (MERS) in South Korea is likely to get worse, as more than 1,300 people remain under quarantine Wednesday, while confirmed cases of infection has grown to 30 people. Two people have died in South Korea after contracting the virus. Meanwhile, the education ministry says more than 500 schools have closed to prevent the spread of the disease. The massive spread of the virus in South Korea has taken many by surprise, according to CNN, mainly because MERS has not previously been shown to spread easily among people, and South Korea is considered to have a good healthcare system. MERS is in the same family of viruses as SARS (severe acute respiratory syndrome) as well as the common cold. However, as far as scientists know, MERS does not spread easily between humans, according to CNN. Since MERS first reported in Saudi Arabia in 2012, international cases have mostly involved travelers bringing the virus to other countries and infecting one or two others. Deaths have been reported Oman, Algeria, and Malaysia — but the spread of the infections did not reach the extent of South Korea, according to CNN. The first patient in South Korea, dubbed the "index case", was a 68-year-old man who had traveled to four Middle Eastern countries — including Bahrain, the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia and Qatar — returning to South Korea on May 4, the New York Times reports. He did not exhibit symptoms during his flights. When he became sick a week later, the man sought treatment at several clinics, which exposed health care workers and other patients to the disease, according to the World Health Organization (WHO). A factor that is contributing to the spread in South Korea could be that family members often stay with patients in their hospital rooms to and care for their loved ones, CNN reports. The South Korean government has announced that it plans to set up a task force to deal with the outbreak of MERS. The government is also considering designating specific hospitals to treat those infected by the virus. ------------------------------------------------------------- Welcome to TomoNews, where we animate the most entertaining news on the internets. Former senior FIFA official Jack Warner, indicted in a wide-ranging bribery scandal, has promised to unleash a tide of evidence relating to the dealings of world soccer's governing body and its president, Sepp Blatter. Warner said he fears for his life but it is time to stop keeping secrets for others. The revelations came first in a paid political ad, titled "Jack Warner: The Gloves are Off," in which he said he had prepared a comprehensive series of documents on FIFA's transactions, including checks and corroborated statements. They have been placed in "different and respected hands," he said. "There can be no turning back." In the TV ad, aired in his native Trinidad and Tobago on Wednesday, Warner said he would "no longer keep secrets for those persons who now seek actively to destroy this country's hard-won international image." He also said, "I reasonably and surely fear for my life." Warner, who has so far not produced any documents or other physical evidence to support his claims, has displayed some erratic behavior in recent days as the scandal has widened. He scored a public relations own-goal Sunday by citing an article by satirical news outlet The Onion in an attempt to counter criminal charges against him and prove the United States was pursuing its own agenda in the investigation. And last week, shortly after he left a Trinidad and Tobago jail in an ambulance -- having reportedly been released on bail on the grounds of exhaustion -- he concluded a news conference in which he accused the United States of a "witch hunt" by dancing and singing, "Don't worry about a thing." Warner took a more sober tone in his political ad. And shortly after it aired, the 72-year-old again promised to impart information about FIFA's operations to those investigating alleged corruption at a rally for his Independent Liberal Party. "I also will give them my knowledge of financial transactions at FIFA including, but not limited to, Sepp Blatter. I have been there for 30 consecutive years. I was a heartbeat away from Blatter. I said to him in 2011, 'It's time -- at 75 -- it's time to step down,' " he said. Warner's latest claims came shortly after court records revealed that Chuck Blazer, a former FIFA executive committee member and a key player in the ongoing corruption investigation into international soccer's governing body, had admitted taking bribes. In a 40-page document that federal prosecutors released Wednesday, Blazer tells the court that he and other members of the FIFA executive committee took bribes between 2004 and 2011 and helped South Africa land the 2010 World Cup. He also describes facilitating a bribe in connection with the 1998 World Cup bidding process. KRUN, GERMANY — Thousands of police officers are pouring into the German of town Krun as the country gears up to host the 41st G7 summit this weekend. Security preparations are underway for the international event, which takes place this Sunday at the Schloss Elmau hotel. Deutsche Welle reports that German authorities have built a 10-mile wire fence around the hotel and have deployed some 19,000 police officers to the area. Security forces will carry out border checks, mainly at the Austria and the Czech Republic borders. According to Reuters, 13 police helicopters will be used at the summit for transportation, intelligence and surveillance purposes. Authorities want to avoid a repeat of a prior summit in 2007 where protesters clashed with security forces. A spokesman for activists group Stop G7 said they expect around 10,000 protesters to travel to the summit from all over the world. This year's summit will focus primarily on the global economy, as well as foreign, security and development policies. ------------------------------------------------------------- Welcome to TomoNews, where we animate the most entertaining news on the internets. EXCLUSIVE: VICE News Meets Barack Obama: http://bit.ly/1wT03Bi The Islamic State, a hardline Sunni jihadist group that formerly had ties to al Qaeda, has conquered large swathes of Iraq and Syria. Previously known as the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS), the group has announced its intention to reestablish the caliphate and has declared its leader, the shadowy Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, as the caliph. The lightning advances the Islamic State made across Syria and Iraq in June shocked the world. But it's not just the group's military victories that have garnered attention — it's also the pace with which its members have begun to carve out a viable state. Flush with cash and US weapons seized during its advances in Iraq, the Islamic State's expansion shows no sign of slowing down. In the first week of August alone, Islamic State fighters have taken over new areas in northern Iraq, encroaching on Kurdish territory and sending Christians and other minorities fleeing as reports of massacres emerged. VICE News reporter Medyan Dairieh spent three weeks embedded with the Islamic State, gaining unprecedented access to the group in Iraq and Syria as the first and only journalist to document its inner workings. You could almost hear the gritted teeth through which the International Monetary Fund issued its terse statement acknowledging that Athens planned to miss Friday’s deadline for making a €300m (£219m) debt repayment. The Washington-based lender, which was always wary about being dragged into Europe’s debt crisis, didn’t condemn Greece’s actions, let alone suggest that deferring the payment was tantamount to default. Even with the rest of the month now apparently available to secure a deal, the distance between Greece and its creditors remains considerable, as leaked negotiating texts from both sides suggested on Thursday. http://www.theguardian.com/world/2015/jun/04/greeces-imf-repayment-delay-smacks-of-both-desperation-and-defiance http://www.wochit.com This video was produced by Wochit using http://wochit.com

In Qatar, 4000 workers will die to put on the 2022 Football World Cup. This staggering figure indicates the slave-like conditions workers of football\'s most expensive construction are enduring.

This year\'s summit will focus primarily on the global economy, as well as foreign, security and development policies.

EXCLUSIVE: VICE News Meets Barack Obama: http://bit.ly/1wT03Bi
The Islamic State, a hardline Sunni jihadist group that formerly had ties to al Qaeda, has conquered large swathes of Iraq and Syria.

But it\'s not just the group\'s military victories that have garnered attention — it\'s also the pace with which its members have begun to carve out a viable state.

Flush with cash and US weapons seized during its advances in Iraq, the Islamic State\'s expansion shows no sign of slowing down.
