Before and After Weed Control with Glufosinate Ammonium
Glufosinate-ammonium is a non-selective foliar application of organic phosphorus herbicide, control of a wide range of annual and perennial broad-leaved weeds and grasses in fruit orchards, vineyards, rubber and oil palm plantations, ornamental trees and bushes, non-crop land, and pre-emergence in vegetables.

glyphosate vs glufosinate spraying weeds and grass in garden beds.
While their spectrum of control is comparable for several weed species, glufosinate tends to be more effective on annual broadleaf weeds than annual grasses, while glyphosate is more effective on grasses. Glufosinate is a "contact" herbicide, in contrast to glyphosate being extensively translocated within the plant
Glufosinate is better to spray in garden beds as I find it not to harm most mature plants, in saying that I have killed and had to replace plants,

Corn School: Not all glufosinate formulations are created equal
Not all glufosinate herbicide formulations are the same. This is especially important to note in areas that grow both glufosinate-tolerant (aka LibertyLink) corn and canola.
A corn grower in Ontario or the Midwest U.S. who orders Liberty or glufosinate from a retailer would likely receive a formulation containing 200g of active ingredient per litre, whereas farmers in canola-growing areas would probably end up with a lower concentrated 150 g/L version that is commonly used in canola on the Prairies.
While they look identical in the jug or tote, and have the same name and active ingredient, 150 g/L glufosinate has a much higher probability of injuring corn than the higher 200 g/L concentration, Jeanette Gaultier of BASF explains in this Corn School episode.

It's not normally advised to do a summer lawn renovation to a cool season lawn but in this case, it makes a lot of sense for me.
I have a hill yard that lays outside of our main irrigation zones but it falls inside our fence line so I'd like to transform it into a low-input lawn space and switch it from rough grasses and weeds into a planned lawn space of turf grass and clover.

The clover will help the hill perform well in subsequent via slow fertilization through nitrogen fixation and the clover flowers will provide the pollinators and bees in our area while our garden is in between growing season.
In this video I killed the hillside off in stages using a single application of glyphosate and two rounds of glufosinate. The second theme of this video is a comparison of those two lawn kill methods as the glufosinate is a lot safer of a non-selective herbicide to use even though it's not as popular.
