The ISO 15926 is a standard about interoperability in the process industry. An important part of it is the Reference Data library, which holds technical class descriptions of all the main equipment items, pipe, instruments, buildings, activities and anything else used in engineering, constructing, procuring, operating and maintaining process facilities. This Reference Data Library is made on-line and extendable by the public. This on-line database is called the WIP.

During this presentation, Glen Worrall of Bentley Systems, discusses the history of ISO 15926 and how it has evolved from multiple industry projects.
During the last couple of meetings, the Data Management Specialist Group have had a series of speakers from industry who have all stressed the need for understanding data before it can be shared and analysed. This work on ISO 15926 promises a foundation for better interoperability.
This presentation covers the approach taken in ISO 15926 and how the different parts of the standard are being utilised to deliver a semantic solution of engineering data. The concepts are explained with some relevant samples.
Finally the ISO 15926 technologies are covered and how the technology vendors are delivering ISO 15926 solutions.
The presentation is aimed at practitioners, but has some technical aspects and covers industry topics such as Master Data Management, Reference Data and Instance Data.

ISO 2 is an international standard for direction of twist designation for yarns, complex yarns, slivers, slubbings, rovings, cordage, and related products. The convention of using these two letters to unambiguously designate twist direction was already used in the cordage industry by 1957.
The standard uses capital letters S and Z to indicate the direction of twist, as suggested by the direction of slant of the central portions of these two letters. The handedness of the twist is the direction of the twists as they progress away from an observer. Thus Z-twist is said to be right-handed, and S-twist to be left-handed.

In most countries, the notations used in mathematics and science textbooks at schools and universities follow closely the guidelines given by ISO 31. It is now superseded by the harmonized ISO/IEC 80000 standard.

An early ISO standard defining a basic communications protocol that made use of non-printable control characters reserved for "transmission control functions" in ASCII, ECMA-48 and related standards. Unicode, which derives from ASCII, still reserves these code points as control characters, but does define protocols for their use.

ISO 18245 is an ISO standard concerning the assignment of Merchant Category Codes in retail financial services.
These are used to control usage of corporate credit cards. MCCs are assigned by merchant type, with each merchant being assigned an MCC by the bank. Corporations can then control which MCCs their employees may use their corporate cards at, and this is enforced through the authorisation system.
