In this video, well-known hiring provocateur Lou Adler, describes his radical idea for improving interviewing accuracy. In essence, give the candidate the questions ahead of time and have the person present their answers via a PowerPoint presentation. This way the assessment will be made on the quality of the candidate's past performance in relationship to real job needs rather than quality of the candidate's first impression and presentation skills. As you'll discover, that's pretty radical. Even better: it works!

IMDb 2014-11-26Lou Adler (born December 13, 1933) is an American record producer, manager, director, and an owner of famous The Roxy Theatre.
Adler was born in Chicago, Illinois in December 1933, and raised in East Los Angeles. In 1964, Adler founded and co-owned Dunhill Records. He was President of the label as well as the chief record producer from 1964 to 1967. That summer he sold Dunhill for three million dollars to ABC Records. Later in 1967, he founded Ode Records. In June 1967, Adler helped to produce the Monterey International Pop Festival, as well as the film version, Monterey Pop.
He formerly managed Jan & Dean and produced Sam Cooke, The Mamas & the Papas, Johnny Rivers, Barry McGuire, Scott McKenzie, The Grass Roots, Spirit, Carole King, The Weaver Temptations, and Cheech and Chong.
He won two Grammy Awards in 1972 in the Record of the Year category for producing It's Too Late by Carole King and in the Album of the Year category for Tapestry (also by King).
In 1975, Adler produced the cult classic The Rocky Horror Picture Show, and in 1981, its follow-up, Shock Treatment.
Herbert "Herb" Alpert (born March 31, 1935) is an American musician most associated with the group variously known as Herb Alpert & the Tijuana Brass, Herb Alpert's Tijuana Brass, or TJB. He is also a recording industry executive — he is the "A" of A&M Records (a recording label he and business partner Jerry Moss founded and eventually sold to Polygram). The multi-talented Alpert has also created abstract expressionist paintings and sculpture over two decades, which are on occasion publicly exhibited; and he and his wife are substantial US philanthropists through the operation of the Herb Alpert Foundation.
Alpert's musical accomplishments include five number one hits, 28 albums on the Billboard charts, eight Grammy Awards, fourteen Platinum albums and fifteen Gold albums. As of 1996, Alpert had sold 72 million albums worldwide. Alpert is the only recording artist to hit #1 on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 pop chart as both an instrumentalist ("Rise", 1979) and vocalist (" This Guy's in Love With You", 1968).

Welcome to my party
Glad you stumbled in
Welcome to my party
Baby, where's the ice?
Who here's up for dancing?
Who here's new?
Welcome to party
Who the hell invited you?
You're here 'cause you love me
Don't I know it? Yeah, I know
You're here because you love me
'Cause the booze is cheap and the low down's low
Welcome to my party
You know what I need
Queenie's up for jazzin'
Queenie's up for anything tonight
I gotta get my engines smokin'
I need it bad, God, I need it more
I need a lot of friendly strokin'
'Cause there ain't no heaven and there ain't no hell
No turning back, gotta lock the door
Welcome
Creatures of the night
Have come here to play
We don't need the light
And we don't like the day
People like us
Gotta jazz till we drop
'Cause people like us
We don't know when to stop
I know how to party
Show you how it's done
I'll teach you to party
Where the hell's my ice?
You remember this one
Queenie's guaranteed
Welcome to my party
Wanna get creamed?
Wanna get juiced?
Want to get wild?
Follow me, follow me
Welcome
There's not a morning that I open up my eyes
And find I didn't dream of you
Without a warning, though it's never a surprise
Soon as I awake thoughts of you arise
With every breath I take
At any time or place
I close my eyes and see your face
And I'm embracing you
If only I believed that dreams come true
You were the one who said forever from the start
And I've been drifting since you've gone
Out on a lonely sea that only you can chart
I've been going on knowing that my heart can break
