Southwark (pronounced /ˈsʌðərk/SUDH-ərk) is a district of south London, England, and the administrative headquarters of the London Borough of Southwark. Situated 1.5 miles (2.4 km) east of Charing Cross, it forms one of the oldest parts of London and fronts the River Thames to the north. It historically formed an ancient borough in the county of Surrey, made up of a number of parishes, which increasingly came under the influence and jurisdiction of the City of London. As an inner district of London, Southwark experienced rapid depopulation during the late 19th and early 20th centuries. It is now at an advanced stage of regeneration and is the location of the City Hall offices of the Greater London Authority.
The name Suthriganaweorc or Suthringa geweorche is recorded for the area in the 10th century Anglo-Saxon document known as the Burghal Hidage and means "fort of the men of Surrey" or "the defensive work of the men of Surrey". Southwark is recorded in the 1086 Domesday Book as Sudweca. The name means "southern defensive work" and is formed from the Old Englishsūth and weorc. The southern location is in reference to the City of London to the north, Southwark being at the southern end of London Bridge. The name has been used for various areas of civil administration, including the ancient Borough of Southwark, the Metropolitan Borough of Southwark and the current London Borough of Southwark. The ancient borough of Southwark was also known simply as The Borough —or Borough— and this name, in distinction from 'The City', has persisted as an alternative name for the area. Southwark was also simultaneously referred to as the Ward of Bridge Without when administered by the City (from 1550 to 1900 and as an Aldermanry until 1978.

I would describe myself as a free spirit.
And probably a disappointment to most people.
On a normal day I wake up around, 11 o'clock.
I get in the shower and get washed, and go get dressed.
Go downstairs, see my mum for a bit, my brothers and little sister.
And then go round to my friend Tony's house.
And just sort of, go from there.
See what happens.
I used to have it every day, but I haven't had it in a long time, I wish I did, but the shop stopped selling them.
I used to get a golden Whisper and a can of coke, every morning.
Without fail.
But yeah, the shop stopped selling them, so, they took away my gold Whisper.
And I was not happy, not in the slightest.
One of the things I find most interesting, is the global stance on specific events, or certain people.
How people are some times scapegoated by other people and it interests me to try and find out why.
Or the individual things that people do that make them different, but soon, once I turn legal age I want to go to LA, as you have to be 21 over there to do anything.
It's ridiculous.
In the future I would like to see more of the world and meet new people.
Experience new things, new cultures.
Just the food, the music, everything that makes that particular corner of the world "tick".
Travelling interests me because the new cultures and people, experiencing other peoples history and learning about everywhere and everyone.

My sister had an end of year gymnastics performance, but unfortunately I was late and the footage my dad took wasn't too good, so I decided to upload, what I thought was the highlight performance.

The Off Broadway smash flies in to Southwark Playhouse this January, plunging its fangs into all that has gone before it. From the producer of In The Heights and the creative team behind Carousel at the Arcola, Bat Boy: The Musical promises to be a love child like no other.
Bat Boy: The Musical is inspired by a story run by The Weekly World News, an American tabloid who published fabricated stories which were purported to be factual, describing the discovery of a creature who is ‘half human and half bat’. Bat Boy ran as a cover story on 23 June 1992 and was the second-best selling issue in the paper’s history, instantly becoming a pop-culture icon.
Bat Boy: The Musical won New York’s Outer Critics Circle and Lucille Lortel Awards for Best Off-Broadway Musical in 2001. It received its UK premiere in 2004 at West Yorkshire Playhouse prior to a West End run at the Shaftesbury Theatre.

Modern, classic, pop or surreal? Whatever your style, Premier Inn London Southwark (Tate Modern) puts you in the thick of things - with all the star attractions of central London just a picture-perfect stroll away.
Wander along the buzzing Southbank, with its riverside venues, restaurants and bars. Step into Shakespeare's world at the Globe. And with our friendly team and extra-comfy beds to frame the whole experience, you'll find everything you need for a great night's sleep.
This is my life. I like travelling, gadgets, reviews, unboxing...

Travel video about destination London in England.
London is an exciting and pulsating metropolis of the new millennium, a melting pot of both people and culture and a fascinating city of diverse contrasts.
The City Of London contains the Tower, an historic landmark with a remarkable history. A mighty medieval fortress with 13 towers that throughout its 900 years, has served many functions and from the Middle Ages, it was a heavily fortified prison.
After the medieval St. Paul's Cathedral was destroyed by a devastating fire in 1666, Christopher Wren was ordered to re-build it with a dome. During the 36 years of its construction, its design was frequently altered until finally a wonderful masterpiece of church architecture was created.
The Monument is the city's tallest freestanding stone column and a reminder of the Great Fire of London that destroyed 80 percent of the city. In four days, more than 13,000 buildings were destroyed and the Monument was built on the site of the bakery in which the fire began.
Since the reign of Queen Victoria, Buckingham Palace has served as London's royal residence. A garden of mulberry trees once grew on the site of today's palace and the Duke of Buckingham subsequently added a simple brick built residence. Around 60 years later, George II purchased the site for his wife and George IV eventually began to design an extensive palace complex.
The highlight of any holiday in London must be the largest Ferris wheel in the world, the London Eye. Situated on the banks of the Thames, it rises high into the sky, opposite the Houses of Parliament and Big Ben.
The former centre of the largest empire in the world, London is still a city of superlatives that attracts millions of visitors each year. Exciting both day and night, London is a modern city with age old traditions and a long and colorful history.

Danny Smethurst, a free spirit from Southwark - Londoner #45
Danny Smethurst, a free spirit from Southwark - Londoner #45
Danny is an unemployed, free spirited young man from Southwark. Learning and understanding about other people’s global stance is something that interests and has inspired him to go travelling around the world when he is older. This film was made by young people from Southwark and The Cumming Museum Youth Panel.
1000 LONDONERS
‘Danny' is part of the 1000 Londoners season, made by people living and working in the capital. The films released are part of the 1000 Londoners second phase, filmed by community groups within London; providing an honest and raw perspective of our city. The community groups include schools, museums and galleries.
The series has been generously supported by the London Transport museum, The Roundhouse, Y-Touring, Tower Hamlets Futureversity, Lambeth Summer University, The Royal Borough of Greenwich Drugs, Alcohol and Mental Health Integrated Commission and Providence Row homeless charity.
This film is part of 1000 Londoners, a five-year digital project which aims to create a digital portrait of a city through 1000 of the people who identify themselves with it. The profile contains a 3 minute film that gives an insight into the life of the Londoner, as well as their personal photos of London and some answers to crucial questions about their views on London life. Over the course of the project we aim to reveal as many facets of the capital as possible, seeing city life from 1000 points of view.

Transcript:

Frankenstein director James Whale, long forgotten by the studios and in reclusive Hollywood retirement has fallen victim to a series of strokes. The only demons he fights now are in his head. Handsome new gardener, Clayton Boone, becomes an unlikely friend and unwitting player in Whale’s grand finale.
Not so much a Hollywood history as a glorious imagining exploring the sometimes divine, sometimes monstrous landscape of obsession and desire. Based on the novel Father of Frankenstein by Christopher Bram – the same source material as for the 1998 Oscar-winning movie, Gods And Monsters.
