London i/ˈlʌndən/ is the capital and most populous city of England and the United Kingdom. Standing on the River Thames, London has been a major settlement for two millennia. It was founded by the Romans, who named it Londinium. London's ancient core, the City of London, largely retains its 1.12-square-mile (2.9 km2) medieval boundaries and in 2011 had a resident population of 7,375, making it the smallest city in England. Since at least the 19th century, the term London has also referred to the metropolis developed around this core. The bulk of this conurbation forms Greater London, a region of England governed by the Mayor of London and the London Assembly. The conurbation also covers two English counties: the small district of the City of London and the county of Greater London. The latter constitutes the vast majority of London, though historically it was split between Middlesex (a now abolished county), Essex, Surrey, Kent and Hertfordshire.
Flight attendants or cabin crew (also known as stewards/stewardesses, air hosts/hostesses, cabin attendants) are members of an aircrew employed by airlines primarily to ensure the safety and comfort of passengers aboard commercial flights, on select business jet aircraft, and on some military aircraft.
The role of a flight attendant derives from that of similar positions on passenger ships or passenger trains, but it has more direct involvement with passengers because of the confined quarters on aircraft. Additionally, the job of a flight attendant revolves around safety to a much greater extent than those of similar staff on other forms of transportation. Flight attendants on board a flight collectively form a cabin crew, as distinguished from pilots and engineers in the cockpit.
Heinrich Kubis was the world's first flight attendant, in 1912.
Origins of the word "steward" in transportation are reflected in the term "chief steward" as used in maritime transport terminology. The term purser and chief steward are often used interchangeably describing personnel with similar duties among seafaring occupations. This lingual derivation results from the international British maritime tradition (i.e. chief mate) dating back to the 14th century and the civilian United States Merchant Marine on which US aviation is somewhat modeled. Due to international conventions and agreements, in which all ships' personnel who sail internationally are similarly documented by their respective countries, the U.S. Merchant Marine assigns such duties to the chief steward in the overall rank and command structure of which pursers are not positionally represented or rostered.
Gatwick Airport(IATA: LGW, ICAO: EGKK) is 2.7 nautical miles (5.0 km; 3.1 mi) north of the centre of Crawley,West Sussex, and 29.5 miles (47.5 km) south of Central London. Also known as London Gatwick, it is London's second-largest international airport and the second-busiest (by total passenger traffic) in the United Kingdom (after Heathrow). Gatwick is Europe's leading airport for point-to-point flights and has the world's busiest single-use runway, with a maximum of 55 aircraft movements per hour. Its two terminals (North and South) cover an area of 98,000 m2 (1,050,000 sq ft) and 160,000 m2 (1,700,000 sq ft), respectively. In 2015, 40.3 million passengers passed through the airport, a 5.6 per cent increase compared with 2014.
From 1978 to 2008, many flights to and from the United States used Gatwick because of restrictions on the use of Heathrow implemented in the Bermuda II agreement between the UK and the US.US Airways, Gatwick's last remaining US carrier, ended service from Gatwick on 30 March 2013. This leaves Gatwick without a scheduled US airline for the first time in over 35 years. The airport is a base for scheduled airlines British Airways (BA), EasyJet, Monarch Airlines, Norwegian Air Shuttle and Virgin Atlantic and charter operators such as Thomas Cook Airlines and Thomson Airways. Gatwick is unique amongst London's airports in its representation of the three main airline business models: full service, low-/no frills and charter. As of April 2015, these respectively accounted for 30 percent, 64 percent and 6 percent of Gatwick's seat capacity.
Heathrow Airport (IATA: LHR, ICAO: EGLL) is a major international airport in west London, England. Heathrow is the busiest airport in the United Kingdom, busiest airport in Europe by passenger traffic, and sixth busiest airport in the world by total passenger traffic. In 2014, it handled a record 73.4 million passengers, a 1.4 percent increase from 2013.
Heathrow lies 12 nautical miles (22 km; 14 mi) west of Central London, and has two parallel east–west runways along with four operational terminals on a site that covers 12.14 square kilometres (4.69 sq mi). The airport is owned and operated by Heathrow Airport Holdings, which itself is owned by FGP TopCo Limited, an international consortium led by the Spanish Ferrovial Group that includes Caisse de dépôt et placement du Québec and Government of Singapore Investment Corporation. Heathrow is the primary hub for British Airways and the primary operating base for Virgin Atlantic.
In September 2012, the UK government established the Airports Commission, an independent commission chaired by Sir Howard Davies to examine various options for increasing capacity at UK airports. The commission shortlisted two options for expanding Heathrow in its interim report in 2013, along with a third option for expanding Gatwick Airport. The final report, published on 1 July 2015, backed a third runway at Heathrow.

London, the capital of England, has been an important financial, educational and cultural center for centuries. This world city is filled with iconic symbols. Tower Bridge is a striking reminder of London's rapid expansion during the industrial revolution. To the west of this is the country's seat of power, the Palace of Westminster. Buckingham Palace, located on the Mall, near Trafalgar Square, is the official residence of Queen Elizabeth II. Another legacy of England's monarchy are its Royal Parks, of which there are eight. July 10, 2017 This was our only full day in London and man, was this day full of activities. We started the morning (forgot to show the breakfast from the hotel) at Big Ben and London Eye. Walked around Westminster area until we brought ourselves to meet the Queen at Buckingham Palace to watch the changing of the guards. We trek down to Trafalgar Square where the 10k marathon was happening. We grab a bite at Pieminister before heading out to Covent Garden for some afternoon tea. We then check out Kensington Palace before we reached Stamford Bridge to check out the place where the boys in blue play. We then finish London off with a nice visit to Abbey Road until I realized it was where all the annoying tourists where (therefore I joined). Crazy day. music by andrewapplepie andrewapplepie....
0:00 Got to hotel room. Not a bad room... Outside looked interesting, so I went for a walk. Awkward moment when 2 people walking in front of me caught me staring. Orologin f. Fifi Rong - Show Me 5:20 Saw some guys riding bmx bikes and stopped to watch for a while. It was pretty impressive stuff. They should wear tighter hats. Mister Lies - Lupine 9:25 Got lunch and had that brownie I packed for dessert :) Saw two street performers dancing. It was like Marquise Scott but better. Am I the only one who thinks he's kind of overrated? Anyway, the dancers were both pretty good, but I thought the guy in silver was a little better. Alex Smoke - Dust 13:08 Walked back to hotel, everything in slow motion. Shouldn't have eaten the whole brownie... Passed out. M.L.D - Dip it Low ... 15:41 ...

This video is property of Train_PlaneHub, "RachaelMatt" 2160p 4K HD! Onboard my first flight with Air China ahead of a long journey between London & Singapore, this was the first leg of the trip. Heathrow to Beijing. The flight was slightly delayed due to the inbound flight arriving late from Beijing. Luckily the load wasn't too busy and they managed to make up a little time on the turn around. We pushed back at around 20:55, about 30mins behind scheduled then the long taxi from the beautiful Terminal 2, all the way down to RWY09R. Fantastic GE90 engine start up sounds, so turn up the volume for that during the pushback. Departure from Heathrow was then followed by a left turn towards the North East, flying directly over Wembley Stadium then towards Stansted and Norfolk. Climbed initia...
