Or maybe I just wanted an excuse to spend a little more time in France and eat more tabouli. On an island, you are constantly reminded that Mother Nature rules here. The elements are stronger and the signs of civilization more subtle. Corsica hosts many adventure travellers every day. I have met so many different groups "visiting" Corsica in their own way; from the 4WDers in snorkeler equipped Range Rovers, to the bands of motorbikers, to hitchhiking backpackers and of course all sorts and ranges of cycle-tourists. Then there is also the RVers and the normal cars, which blend into the background on Corsica. Memorable moments on Corsica: -A guy walks up to me as I'm breaking for lunch atop a pass to deliver a note. He was told by the other girl cycle tourist from Canada that he would see me on my way to Porto and asked to " ... - "Ajaccio." by K1thomas from a blog titled "Corsica" Excerpt: "On Friday morning, I joined Ross at his French class so that we could leave right after to Corsica. His teacher is very nice and she even let me join in on the conversation and exercises. We were practicing the future and she made fun of Ross a lot for always answering that he had no idea what he wanted to do with his life. We left Cannes around one o'clock to catch our 4:30 plane from Nice to Ajaccio. Ajaccio is one of the biggest towns on Corsica, but that doesn't really say much. It was good we got to the airport early because they didn't have my reservation on file! After a lot of worrying, it turns out that I made the reservation with my first name instead of my last name, whoops! Luckily, we got on the plane and it was really quick, only 40 minutes. After we landed, we picked up our rental car because there isn't much public transportation on the island, especially to the tiny town that Ross found our B&B; in.
