Kenya (/ˈkɛnjə/ or /ˈkiːnjə/), officially the Republic of Kenya, is a country in East Africa that lies on the equator. With the Indian Ocean to its south-east, it is bordered by Tanzania to the south, Uganda to the west, South Sudan to the north-west, Ethiopia to the north and Somalia to the north-east. Kenya has a land area of 580,000 km2 and a population of nearly 41 million, representing 42 different peoples and cultures. The country is named after Mount Kenya, a significant landmark and second among Africa's highest mountain peaks. Kenya's capital and largest city is Nairobi.
Kenya has a warm and humid climate along its coastline on the Indian Ocean which changes to wildlife-rich savannah grasslands moving inland towards the capital Nairobi. Nairobi has a cool climate that gets colder approaching Mount Kenya, which has three permanently snow-capped peaks. The warm and humid tropical climate reappears further inland towards lake Victoria, before giving way to temperate forested and hilly areas in the western region. The North Eastern regions along the border with Somalia and Ethiopia are arid and semi-arid areas with near-desert landscapes. Lake Victoria, the world's second largest fresh-water lake (after Lake Superior in the US and Canada) and the world's largest tropical lake, is situated to the southwest and is shared with Uganda and Tanzania. Kenya is famous for its safaris and diverse world-famous wildlife reserves such as Tsavo National Park, the Maasai Mara, Nakuru National Park, and Aberdares National Park.
William Henry "Bill" Gates III (born October 28, 1955 in Seattle, Washington) is an American business magnate, computer programmer and philanthropist. Gates is the former chief executive officer (CEO) and current chairman of Microsoft, the world’s largest personal-computer software company he co-founded with Paul Allen. He is consistently ranked among the world's wealthiest people and was the wealthiest overall from 1995 to 2009, excluding 2008, when he was ranked third; in 2011 he was the wealthiest American and the second wealthiest person. During his career at Microsoft, Gates held the positions of CEO and chief software architect, and remains the largest individual shareholder, with 6.4 percent of the common stock. He has also authored or co-authored several books.
Gates is one of the best-known entrepreneurs of the personal computer revolution. Gates has been criticized for his business tactics, which have been considered anti-competitive, an opinion which has in some cases been upheld by the courts. In the later stages of his career, Gates has pursued a number of philanthropic endeavors, donating large amounts of money to various charitable organizations and scientific research programs through the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, established in 2000.

The Indian government extended a 100 million dollar line of credit to its Kenyan counterpart to aid in the development of the agricultural sector.
The Indian government, through its High Commission in Nairobi, said that the credit will go towards mechanisation of agriculture, and would be channeled through the Indian Export Import Bank. The funds would be used to purchase tractors, and also to set up farming machinery service centres in three locations across the country.
The Minister of External Affairs of India, Sushma Swaraj, wrote her Kenyan counterpart, Amina Mohammed, communicating the move.

Kenyan Bishops Discover Mass Sterilization in Vaccines
According to LifeSiteNews, a Catholic publication, the Kenya Catholic Doctors Association is charging UNICEF and WHO with sterilizing millions of girls and women under cover of an anti-tetanus vaccination program sponsored by the Kenyan government.
The Kenyan government denies there is anything wrong with the vaccine, and says it is perfectly safe.
The Kenya Catholic Doctors Association, however, saw evidence to the contrary, and had six different samples of the tetanus vaccine from various locations around Kenya sent to an independent laboratory in South Africa for testing.
The results confirmed their worst fears: all six samples tested positive for the HCG antigen. The HCG antigen is used in anti-fertility vaccines, but was found present in tetanus vaccines targeted to young girls and women of childbearing age. Dr. Ngare, spokesman for the Kenya Catholic Doctors Association, stated in a bulletin released November 4:
“This proved right our worst fears; that this WHO campaign is not about eradicating neonatal tetanus but a well-coordinated forceful population control mass sterilization exercise using a proven fertility regulating vaccine. This evidence was presented to the Ministry of Health before the third round of immunization but was ignored.”

Africa Tours 2015 - Kenya, Tanzania tourism & Vacations 2015 - Kenya, Tanzania Trip 2015
Travel Videos HD, World Travel Guide http://www.youtube.com/subscription_center?add_user=World1Tube
Tanzania is the largest country in East Africa, bordered by Kenya and Uganda to the north; Rwanda, Burundi, and the Democratic Republic of the Congo to the west, and Zambia, Malawi, and Mozambique to the south.
Do in Tanzania
============
1 - Safari While you are in Tanzania you may organize your safari to Serengeti and other National parks at an affordable price. If there's one trip that will change your perspective on life, it's an African safari. Contact some of the tour operators for Safari Details.
2 - Cultural Tours Touring Tanzania for culture is interestingly great as it encompasses more than 150+ ethnic groups. There is plenty of traditional food, cultural practices (such as hunting with bushmen, beeskeeping, traditional medicine) that one enjoys within the boundaries. You will also get to visit a number of locations that normally people would be completely unaware of. If you happen to be a person who loves to explore the world and meet new people in order to gain knowledge about different customs, a cultural tour is definitely the best type of vacation for you.The services are not expensive and can turn out to be cheaper than expected provided you get the right information on where to stay, best tour companies and just knowledge of what you want. This way, it will save you time and costs as well.
3 - There are loads of National Parks for those wanting to watch Tanzania's wildlife. You can gain entry for around $100 US and benefit from a tour (and perhaps a night's accommodation). The better parks, though packed with tourists, are found in the north of the country. Ruaha National Park is the best in the south (locals actually say this is the best park, especially if you want to see wild animals as opposed to semi-tame ones in the northern parks). Don't just be sucked into the tourist circuit in the north; the south offers great parks and towns (base yourself out of Iringa), and you will feel less of a tourist and more of a guest if you travel this way.
4 - Scuba diving in and around Pemba and Zanzibar is another good experience.
5 - You can also visit numerous historical Slave Trade sites, which could make for an interesting, if a little depressing, excursion.
6 - Beaches: Did you know that Tanzania has some of the best, most unspoiled beaches in the world? They are stunning, with their white sand, palm trees, and cool Indian Ocean water!
7 - Kayak the beautiful coastal waters with a tour operator.
8 - Tanzania has two of the best Stone Age sites in the world: Isimila Gorge (near Iringa) and the earliest known examples of human art among the rock paintings, near Kolo, north of Dodoma -- some of which are reckoned to be around 30,000 years old.
9 - Kilimanjaro is one of Tanzania's main attractions. Kilimanjaro is the highest mountain in Africa. Many visitors come to Tanzania to summit this great mountain. The main peak is estimated to be 5895m high making it a real challenge for mountaineers.

In the middle of today’s modern city of Luxor, known as the ‘Capital City Of The Pharaohs’, the Luxor Temple stretches along the eastern banks of the Nile and, not far away, the temple complex of Karnak and the Amun Temple. 67 kilometres from Luxor, on the western bank of the Nile, lies the Temple Of Dendera, the most important place of worship for the love goddess, HATHOR, whose heavenly appearance was portrayed by the body of a cow. At Aswan, the landscape of the Nile is enchanting, but it is the stone temples of Abu Simbel that take one back to ancient Egypt, land of the Pharaohs, and archaeological paradise.

Directly in front of the city gates is the Nairobi National Park, the oldest of all Kenya's nature parks. Groups of ostriches can be seen bathing in the hot sand. A number of springboks stroll around elegantly between scattered rocks and trees that have been uprooted by elephants close to the city's skyline.
Nairobi is a metropolis in the 'Realm of The Golden Sun' and is undoubtedly one of the most fascinating cities in the world.

KWS | Amboseli National Park - Kenya Wildlife
Travel Videos HD, World Travel Guide http://www.youtube.com/subscription_center?add_user=World1Tube
Amboseli National Park, formerly Maasai Amboseli Game Reserve, is in Kajiado District, Rift Valley Province in Kenya. The park is 39,206 hectares (392 km2; 151 sq mi)[1] in size at the core of an 8,000 square kilometres (3,100 sq mi) ecosystem that spreads across the Kenya-Tanzania border. The local people are mainly Maasai, but people from other parts of the country have settled there attracted by the successful tourist-driven economy and intensive agriculture along the system of swamps that makes this low-rainfall area (average 350 mm (14 in)) one of the best wildlife-viewing experiences in the world with 400 species of birds including water birds, pelicans, kingfishers, crakes, hammerkops and 47 types of raptor.
The park protects two of the five main swamps, and includes a dried-up Pleistocene lake and semi-arid vegetation.
240 kilometers (150 miles) southeast from the capital city Nairobi, Amboseli National Park is the second most popular national park in Kenya after Maasai Mara National Reserve.
History
================
In 1883, Joseph Thompson was the first European to penetrate the feared Maasai region known as Empusel (meaning 'salty, dusty place' in Maa). He, too, was astonished by the fantastic array of wildlife and the contrast between the arid areas of the dry-lake bed and the oasis of the swamps, a contrast that persists today.
Amboseli was set aside as the 'Southern Reserve' for Maasai in 1906 but returned to local control as a Game Reserve in 1948. Gazetted a National Park in 1974 to protect the core this unique ecosystem, it was declared a UNESCO Man and the Biosphere Reserve in 1991. The park earned $3.5 m (€2.9 m) in 2005. On 29 September 2005, Kenyan President Mwai Kibaki declared that control of the park should pass from the Kenya Wildlife Service to the Olkejuado County Council and the Maasai tribe. Some observers saw this as a political favour in advance of a vote on a new Kenyan constitution: legal challenges are currently in court. The degazetting would divert park admission fees directly to the County Council with shared benefits to the Maasai immediately surrounding the park.
Fauna
==========
The park is famous for being the best place in Africa to get close to free-ranging elephants.[3] Other attractions of the park include opportunities to meet Maasai and visit a Maasai village. The park also offers spectacular views of Mount Kilimanjaro, the highest free-standing mountain in the world.
Amboseli offers some of the best opportunities to see African animals because its vegetation is sparse due to the long dry months. Amboseli National Park is home to wild animals, which include the African elephant, cape buffalo, impala, lion, cheetah, hyena, giraffe, zebra, and wildebeest among other African animals. There is also a host of Kenyan birds, both large and small, to see if you keep your eyes open and stop at every sighting.
The park has several rules to protect the wildlife: do not get out of your vehicle, except at designated spots; do not harass the animals in any way; keep to the tracks; no off-road driving; and animals always have the right of way. The roads in Amboseli have a loose surface of volcanic soil that is dusty in the dry season and impassable in the wet season.

It takes just a few days for supplies to arrive at the Nairobi airport, but it takes weeks for it to arrive at our Post Office Box in Bungoma. This is because every parcel passes through a customs office either in Nairobi or Kisumu, where they are scanned, opened and checked and levies are tagged to them before they are released to the P.O Box in different locations. The charges involved with shipping are just too high, and things are made worse with the 25% levy of the total value of good which is to be paid by the receiver. These inconveniences seemed to threaten the possibility of receiving supplies from overseas, but LOVE as we know it always conquers all things. Supplies are coming in besides the corruption and risks involved. And the LORD is protecting them, and they are coming and blessing many people here. I went to Kisumu where we have the Kenya Revenue Authority offices and presented all documentation to them that explain who I am and what Rise Up Society does as a charitable organization. I think it helped a lot because since then we have not had any boxes taken by them. We expect things to get even better in future. We ask our friends and partners not to send anything that will be seen as a harmful drug. We will mostly expect to get clothes, gauze, nail cutters, toiletries, antibiotics, pain relievers and numbing gel, mainly lidocaine. In case someone is sending something that's far from the above, it is advisable that they email me for clarification. My email is jim@killthejigger.org. It’s worth noting that most of the things are locally found and they are stress free to acquire, and that's why we encourage monetary donations, because then we don't have to store many things but we buy as we release them to the deserving people. So I still encourage people to donate money. Our PayPal link is www.killthejigger.org/causes/. THANK YOU everyone for the goodwill. You're all contributing something, REMEMBER. Just watching videos and letting ads run is something commendable. Others are not able to give money or send supplies, but they PRAY for us, and that's VERY IMPORTANT. We still stand today because of your prayers. Please keep on praying for us. And for those who give, of course you guys enable us to go out and touch lives. We are a global society and I want to let each one you know that Rise Up Society APPRECIATES you. You are so important to the cause and your valued contribution is blessing so many people in Kenya. THANK YOU very much.

Birds, whose feathers have made them extremely adaptable and enabled them to fly, are the subject of programme five. The courtship flight of the marvellous spatuletail hummingbird is shot at high speed to slow down its rapid wing beats. The male must rest every few seconds due to the energy needed to display his elongated tail feathers. Lammergeiers, by contrast, soar on mountain thermals with a minimum of effort. A red-billed tropicbird bringing a meal back to its chick uses aerial agility to evade the marauding magnificent frigatebirds. Some birds nest in extreme locations to avoid threats from predators. Kenya's caustic soda lakes are a perilous environment for a lesser flamingo chick, while chinstrap penguins breed on a volcanic island off the Antarctic Peninsula. In South Africa, declining fish stocks force Cape gannets to abandon their chicks to search for food, presenting great white pelicans with the chance to snatch an easy meal. Feathers can also be used for display. Male sage grouse square up to one another at their leks, courting Clark's and western grebes perform an elaborate ritual to reaffirm their bond and thousands of lesser flamingos move in a synchronised display. Male Birds of paradise show off their brilliant plumes in wild courtship displays (some of this footage is from Planet Earth). In West Papua, the small, drab Vogelkop bowerbird uses a different strategy. The male decorates his bower with colourful jewels from the forest, and uses vocal mimicry to attract the attention of a female. Mating is filmed for the first time, the end result of a long and difficult quest featured in Life on Location.[33]

The Kenyan Ambassador to the US Robinson Njeru Githae has reiterated the government's commitment in ensuring that the Diaspora vote's in the 2017 elections.
Speaking to Ron Imanene of KENYA360 MEDIA in an extensive interview, the envoy stated that he has had fruitful engagement with the IEBC on the subject of Diaspora vote and has been assured of the commission's goodwill in facilitating the Diaspora vote.
He however disclosed that further to that engagement with the IEBC, the earlier stated preference for the Diaspora to vote by mail ballot is no longer on the table as the necessary legal and physical infrastructure is not available at present. "If the Diaspora does not vote, I will be more disappointed than the Diaspora", stated Ambassador Githae.
And still on matters relating to Diaspora affairs, the envoy disclosed that a final list of proposed honorary consul locations had been approved with plans to operationalize them by the end of the year being at advanced stage.
The locations will be Boston, Dallas, Atlanta, Chicago and Minneapolis with Seattle still being in pending-approval status. He stated that while the primary reason for the consuls is to take consular services closer to the people, the sites would also provide a visible diplomatic footprint in an otherwise expansive territory thereby providing an advantage to Kenyans living in the US for accessibility to a polling station if the IEBC makes good on it’s intentions to allow Kenyans vote in Kenyan embassies, High Commissions and consulates in the 2017 elections.
UPDATE: PRESIDENT UHURU KENYATTA'S TRIP TO LA HAS BEEN CANCELLED.
This is an addendum to the statement issued earlier regarding the President’s planned visit to the US for the annual Milken Institute Global Conference in Los Angeles. The President will no longer be making the trip.

Tanzania is the largest country in East Africa, bordered by Kenya and Uganda to the north; Rwanda, Burundi, and the Democratic Republic of the Congo to the west, and Zambia, Malawi, and Mozambique to the south.
Do in Tanzania
============

With less than a week to labour day, supremacy battle for the organisation, hosting and planning of this year's labour day celebrations between the central organisation of trade unions and the federation of public service trade unions of kenya are unending. Both organisations held prayers today at different locations but their tone and message suggested that this years labour day will be like no other.

Indian government extends $100m facility to Kenya
The Indian government extended a 100 million dollar line of credit to its Kenyan counterpart to aid in the development of the agricultural sector.
The Indian government, through its High Commission in Nairobi, said that the credit will go towards mechanisation of agriculture, and would be channeled through the Indian Export Import Bank. The funds would be used to purchase tractors, and also to set up farming machinery service centres in three locations across the country.
The Minister of External Affairs of India, Sushma Swaraj, wrote her Kenyan counterpart, Amina Mohammed, communicating the move.

Travel video about destination Kenya.
Founded by Alexander The Great in 332 B.C., the city of Alexandria is located in the Nile Delta and it was here that Caesar and Mark Anthony fell under Cleopatra’s spell.Cairo is Africa’s largest city and the heart of the Arab world, extreme poverty living next to opulent wealth, and modern, Western boutiques next to ancient souks. The Cairo Museum is home to the most extensive collection of Egyptian antiquities, including the golden mask and tomb of Tutankamun. Towering above almost any other human achievement are the impressive three pyramids of Gisa. The Cheops Pyramid, the world’s largest single construction, took four hundred thousand workers twenty years to build. It weighs as much as all the cathedrals in Europe put together and spans an area of 53,000 square metres - the height of a fifty storey skyscraper.

Kenya Travel Video Guide • Great Destinations
Kenya, with its numerous natural wonders gives a tourist the joy of a seaside holiday and the thrills of a safari. One can sit in the shade of a palm tree and swim in the emerald green water of the Indian Ocean, which runs out to the white, sandy beaches. We can take a look at Mombasa, most important port of Eastern Africa, the city of the Tusk Gate and the Jesus Fort. How about a typical African safari to Tsavo? Naturally, in the meantime we can meet elephants, lions, giraffes and dolphins. We can marvel at the 13th century city of Gedi. We can take a boat trip among the coral reefs of the sea national parks, or be amazed by the war dance of the Masai people, and can have a dinner at a coral cave.

Travel video about destination Nairobi in Kenya.
Nairobi is Kenya's busy, expensive yet dangerous capital city. It is also both fascinating and modern. Nairobi is the country's most important and beautiful city and with the finest temperate climate between Johannesburg and Cairo, is located at an altitude of almost 1,700 metres above sea level.
The government district of City Square contains the Conference Centre and the Kanu Tower, the headquarters of government and the city's tallest building.
Canons guard the main entrance to the National Museum that is situated on Museum Hill, a fascinating building that covers much of Kenya's culture and history. The museum provides an interesting insight into Pre-history as well as to various cultures and the country's flora and fauna.

History
================
Fauna
==========

Breaker High Episode 5 Kenya Dig It
Breaker High is a Canadian teen comedy-drama series that ran from 1997 to 1998, airing on YTV in Canada and on TV in the United States. The series was created by Cori Stern, while SciFi veteran David Winning directed the pilot and seven episodes of the series.
The series is set at a high school located on a cruise ship, allowing the episodes to be set in a variety of exotic locations, although the series was, in fact, filmed entirely in Burnaby, British Columbia. The show dealt with teen issues such as dating, finances, and friendship, although the series tended to steer away from the "tougher" situations outlined in other teen dramas at the time.

Supplies Come in as treatment for Kliff and Brian goes on
It takes just a few days for supplies to arrive at the Nairobi airport, but it takes weeks for it to arrive at our Post Office Box in Bungoma.

BBC Life Season 1 - Episode 05 (Birds 2009 HDTV 720p)

A CONVERSATION WITH USA AMBASSADOR ROBINSON GITHAE
A CONVERSATION WITH USA AMBASSADOR ROBINSON GITHAE
