Gorilla trek i Rwanda

Scuba Diving in Lake Norfork
I learned how to scuba dive in 1981 when doing a 3-part series as 'Western Bureau Chief' for KAIT Television. My series was shot around Bill Burn's dive shop "Marine Technics" (long-since out of business; now visible only as the remains of an A-frame structure along Hwy 62 between Mtn. Home and the lake), Dan Brakebill's swimming pool, and of course, beautiful Lake Norfork and the fabulous white sand beach of Jordan's "Sand Island". Check my channel for other stuff I did at while a bureau chief at KAIT...you'll find a cave at Cushman, the Koshkonong woman with the famous phone number, drug busts on the Eleven Point River, etc etc. I also did a 5-parter on lead mining in the proposed "Irish Wilderness" in Missouri, but that series never got dubbed from 16mm to video; I'm sure it has long since been relegated to the celluloid dust bin...

Bass Fishing Tournament On Lake Sinclair
Farmers have been fighting a wet spring. Those conditions have fertilization and other fieldwork behind schedule. So, when there is a sunny spring week-end day, they just let the fields dry, and do what the rest of us do... they go fishing. Rick Treptow takes us to a bass tournament on Middle Georgia's Lake Sinclair.

Visiting Gavins Point Dam and Lewis and Clark Lake
(Update : Those are SNOW geese NOT Canadian geese) Stretching 25 miles long and straddling the Nebraska and South Dakota border, Lewis and Clark Lake is the smallest of the Missouri River reservoirs completed in 1957; however, it is Nebraska's second largest lake at 28000 acres. It has a maximum depth of 45 feet. Lewis and Clark Lake was created as a project of the US Army Corps of Engineers by impounding the Missouri River. The Gavins Point Dam was authorized by the Flood Control Act of 1944, also known as the Pick - Sloan Plan to recognize the leaders of the Corps of Engineers and Bureau of Reclamation, Lt. General Lewis Pick and William G. Sloan. Ground breaking for Gavins Point Dam began in 1952; it is 74 feet high and 8700 feet long. Completed in 1957, Lewis and Clark Lake currently covers 28000 acres at full pool and 31400 acres at maximum pool. On September 1956, Gavins Point generators began producing electricity for customers, and currently provide enough electricity to meet the annual needs of 68000 homes.
