Province of Cádiz
Cádiz is a province of southern Spain, in the southwestern part of the autonomous community of Andalusia, the southernmost part of continental Western Europe as well as of the entire continent.
It is bordered by the Spanish provinces of Huelva, Seville, and Málaga, as well as the Atlantic Ocean, the Mediterranean Sea, the Strait of Gibraltar and the British overseas territory of Gibraltar. Its area is 7,385 square kilometers.
Its capital is the city of Cádiz, which has a population of more than 128,000. The largest city is Jerez de la Frontera with 208,896 inhabitants (as of 2010), and another important city is Algeciras with just over 114,000 inhabitants. The entire province had a population of 1,240,175 (as of 2014), of whom about 600,000 live in the Bay of Cádiz area. Its population density is 167.93 per square kilometer.
Political and traditional subdivisions (comarcas)
The province encompasses 44 municipalities; besides its capital, other important cities are Jerez and Algeciras. (See the list of municipalities in Cádiz.) According to a roster developed by the Council of Tourism and Sport of Andalusia on 27 March 2003, there are officially six traditional or touristic comarcas (provincial areas or counties) in the Province of Cádiz:

Cádiz
Cádiz (/kəˈdɪz/, Spanish: [ˈkaðiθ]; see other pronunciations below) is a city and port in southwestern Spain. It is the capital of the province of Cádiz, one of eight which make up the autonomous community of Andalusia.
Cádiz, the oldest continuously inhabited city in Spain and one of the oldest in western Europe, has been a principal home port of the Spanish Navy since the accession of the Spanish Bourbons in the 18th century. The city is a member of the Most Ancient European Towns Network. It is also the site of the University of Cádiz.
Situated on a narrow slice of land surrounded by the sea‚ Cádiz is, in most respects, a typically Andalusian city with a wealth of attractive vistas and well-preserved historical landmarks. The older part of Cádiz within the remnants of the city walls is commonly referred to as the Old Town (Spanish: Casco Antiguo). It is characterized by the antiquity of its various quarters (barrios), among them El Pópulo, La Viña, and Santa María, which present a marked contrast to the newer areas of town. While the Old City's street plan consists of narrow winding alleys connecting large plazas, newer areas of Cádiz typically have wide avenues and more modern buildings. In addition, the city is dotted with numerous parks where exotic plants flourish, including giant trees supposedly brought to Spain by Columbus from the New World.

Cadiz, Ohio
Cadiz /ˈkædɪs/ is a village in Harrison County, Ohio, United States. The population was 3,353 at the 2010 census. It is the county seat of Harrison County.
History
Cadiz was founded in 1803 at the junction of westward roads from Pittsburgh and Washington, Pennsylvania, and named after Cadiz, Spain. The town became the county seat of newly formed Harrison County in 1813. By 1840, Cadiz had 1,028 residents; by 1846, the town had four churches and 21 stores. The Steubenville and Indiana Railroad, a predecessor of the Pennsylvania Railroad, opened to Cadiz June 11, 1854.
In the early and mid nineteenth century, several local families operated 'stations' and served as 'conductors' in the Underground Railroad, helping runaway slaves escape to Canada.
By 1880 population had nearly doubled and the town had three newspapers and three banks.
Early industry was based on agriculture and processing farm products. In 1889, a brief oil boom began with the shipment of 120 barrels of oil produced in nearby Green Township. Coal mining, both underground and surface, became the prominent industry through most of the twentieth century. More recently the development of the Marcellus Shale in the surrounding area has made Cadiz a center for natural gas production. The MarkWest Complex, opened in 2012, processes more than 180 million cubic feet of natural gas per day (Mmcf/d) for shipment via pipeline to Mont Belvieu, Texas.,

Cadiz is a composition by Isaac Albéniz, originally written for piano. After the composer's death, his publisher included it in an enlarged edition of the Suite española. The suite comprises pieces with geographical titles; in this case the title refers to the Spanish city of Cádiz or its province.
Version for Guitar
Since it has been transcribed for classical guitar by Miguel Llobet, it has become one of the most important works of the classical guitar repertoire. It has been played and recorded by guitarists such as Julian Bream and John Williams and many others. It is a patriotic, bright sounding piece, generally played in the key of A major.

La provincia de Cádiz está en la Comunidad Autónoma de Andalucía. Situada al suroeste de España es una región de excepcional belleza natural y rica herencia cultural. Destaca por sus contrastes, 3000 años de historia y 45 municipios que esconden rincones increíbles en su gran variedad de paisajes y culturas.Con un litoral de 250 kilómetros, de playas de arena fina y dorada, que van desde las urbanas a las extensas casi vírgenes. Sus espectaculares pueblos blancos de la sierra y siendo Cádiz capital la ciudad más antigua de Europa, es un destino maravilloso.
En realidad son pocos los turistas que se decantan por la provincia de Cádiz, ya que optan por quedarse en la Costa Blanca o en la Costa del Sol, sin embargo es un lugar muy turístico para los españoles, que saben apreciar la belleza de la región.
Los registros indican que la ciudad de Cádiz se remonta a más de 3.000 años de antigüedad y fue lugar de los pobladores ibéricos. La región fue ocupada por los griegos, fenicios, cartagineses - para quienes fue un importante punto comercial, los romanos, quienes fueron derrotados posteriormente por los visigodos. Debido a su ubicación, tan próxima al continente africano, ha sido siempre visto como una importante región estratégica y comercial.
Cádiz, en los siglos XVII y XVIII fue una de las ciudades más importantes del mundo, al nivel de Londres, Ámsterdam o Paris. Por ella pasaba el 50% de los ingresos del imperio español que traían las Flotas de Nueva España (comercio de Ultramar con América) y Tierra Firme, cuyo peso en oro se multiplicaba por cinco por llevar también en sus bodegas los fondos de los particulares, que engrasarían la economía europea y serian el germen de su supremacía mundial hasta casi la actualidad. Capturar una flota del tesoro era el sueño de toda potencia, así que esta pujanza atrajo ataques de piratas, desde el ataque de Drake de 1587, hasta el de Nelson en 1797. También el saqueo de la ciudad en 1596, y las victorias españolas de 1625 y 1702, así como los intentos de capturar la flota del tesoro de 1642 y de 1656. Todo esto hace que la ciudad se fortifique construyendo baluartes defensivos, castillos y torres de vigía en cada azotea.
Los Pueblos Blancos están ubicados en la Sierra de Cádiz, una de las seis comarcas en las que se divide la provincia gaditana. Su extensión coincide en buena parte con el Parque Natural de la Sierra de Grazalema y con el Parque Natural de los Alcornocales.
El Parque Natural Sierra de Grazalema es considerado uno de los mayores tesoros naturales en Andalucía por su amplia variedad botánica y faunística. Además, es hogar de una especie endémica de conífera, el pinsapar, que ocupa más de 400 hectáreas.
El Parque Natural de Los Alcornocales constituye el otro entorno en los que se localizan los Pueblos Blancos, además de uno de los más grandes de la Península. Considerado como cuna de culturas milenarias y lugar de asentamiento de diferentes civilizaciones, su espacio es ocupado casi en su totalidad por bosques autóctonos mediterráneos.

The city is a narrow peninsula surrounded by the seas and is only 12.10 km2 (4.67 sq mi), but we were surprised at how much there was to explore! There are gorgeous beaches, historic and lively neighborhoods, lovely architecture and ancient forts. Hope you enjoy our wanderings!

In this Cadiz, Spain Vlog, I take you with me as I explore my new favorite place in Spain, showing you what to do with 1 day in Cadiz, Spain. Before visiting Cadiz, Spain I didn’t know too much about this city as not many people I met during my travels have been to Cadiz, Spain before. But, oh man, did I fall in love with the magical city of Cadiz, from its old town center to the beautiful beaches and incredible architecture. I hope you enjoy my Cadiz Spain tour!
To start off my Cadiz Spain Vlog, I went to a beautiful cafe in Cadiz old town called El Cafe de Ana. After a delicious breakfast I walked to the Cadiz Central Market to experience local life in Cadiz, Spain and watch tons of people buy and sell fresh fish. Next on my Cadiz Spain Travel Vlog, I climbed to the top of Tavira Tower for incredible views over the city of Cadiz. The views from the top of Tavira Tower are absolutely spectacular. You have amazing views over the Cadiz old town and the beautiful blue water. Visiting the top of the Tavira Tower is definitely one of the best things to do in Cadiz, Spain.
Next up on my Cadiz Spain tour, I walked to Genoves Park, which is the main park in Cadiz. After roaming around the park, I walked to the Santa Catalina Castle, which is one of my favorite places I visited in my Cadiz Spain Vlog. Right next to the Santa Catalina Castle is the main city beach in Cadiz, Spain called La Caleta Beach, which is a must visit in Cadiz. I also tried to visit the Castle of San Sebastian but it was unfortunately closed during my time in Cadiz, but the walk to the castle was still gorgeous!
For lunch in my Cadiz, Spain Vlog, I went to a neighborhood called La Vina to get some delicious fresh fish for lunch. The La Vina neighborhood is a great place to walk around and enjoy the city of Cadiz. Next on my Cadiz Spain tour, I went to the famous Cadiz Cathedral, which is absolutely stunning and a must visit in Cadiz, Spain. After admiring the Cadiz Cathedral, I went to another one of Cadiz, Spain’s many beaches called La Playita / Playa de las Mujeres / Playa de Santa Maria Del Mar. This is a great place to both swim and surf, depending on the conditions!
I hope you enjoyed my Cadiz Spain Vlog and tour of Cadiz Spain! I still don’t understand why more people don’t visit Cadiz, Spain, because I fell in love with this city and I hope to go back soon!

Cadiz is also known as the birth place of actor Clark Gable, he is most well known for his roll as Rhett Butler in the classic movie "Gone With the Wind". You can take the museum tour and see many of his rare collectible memorabilia. (You are permitted to take photos and video in the gift area and out side but not in the main floors of the house). So there is a lot to see. The tour guide was so pleasant and informative. It is a must see if your in the area.

Cadiz was founded in 1803 at the junction of westward roads from Pittsburgh and Washington, Pennsylvania, and named after Cadiz, Spain. The town became the county seat of newly formed Harrison County in 1813.[8] By 1840, Cadiz had 1,028 residents; by 1846, the town had four churches and 21 stores.[9][10] The Steubenville and Indiana Railroad, a predecessor of the Pennsylvania Railroad, opened to Cadiz June 11, 1854.[11]
In the early and mid nineteenth century, several local families operated 'stations' and served as 'conductors' in the Underground Railroad, helping runaway slaves escape to Canada.[9]
By 1880 population had nearly doubled and the town had three newspapers and three banks.[10]
Early industry was based on agriculture and processing farm products. In 1889, a brief oil boom began with the shipment of 120 barrels of oil produced in nearby Green Township.[12] Coal mining, both underground and surface, became the prominent industry through most of the twentieth century. More recently the development of the Marcellus Shale in the surrounding area has made Cadiz a center for natural gas production. The MarkWest Complex, opened in 2012, processes more than 180 million cubic feet of natural gas per day for shipment via pipeline to Mont Belvieu, Texas.

If you’ve spent any time in Ohio as a visitor, you may have been impressed. By what I’m not sure. And from what I hear, many Ohio residents have some amount of state pride. I mean they could live in West Virginia, so it’s not the worst place in the country.
And believe it or not, there are people who are thinking about moving to Ohio, so we’re gonna talk about the places you DON'T want to live in this state if you do that. Ohio people know them by heart and can rattle them off pretty quickly. Most of these won’t be a huge shock for Ohioans. All we’re gonna do is rank them in order.
For our worst places in Ohio ranking, we’re going to be fair about things and use statistics. Things like crime rates and poverty and other measuring sticks such as quality of schools and home prices. In the end, we’ll know the undisputed loser as the worst place to live in the Buckeye State. And much of it has to do with the drugs and the decline of auto jobs. Let’s begin, shall we?

La provincia de Cádiz está en la Comunidad Autónoma de Andalucía. Situada al suroeste de España es una región de excepcional belleza natural y rica herencia cultural. Destaca por sus contrastes, 3000 años de historia y 45 municipios que esconden rincones increíbles en su gran variedad de paisajes y culturas.Con un litoral de 250 kilómetros, de playas de arena fina y dorada, que van desde las urbanas a las extensas casi vírgenes. Sus espectaculares pueblos blancos de la sierra y siendo Cádiz capital la ciudad más antigua de Europa, es un destino maravilloso.
En realidad son pocos los turistas que se decantan por la provincia de Cádiz, ya que optan por quedarse en la Costa Blanca o en la Costa del Sol, sin embargo es un lugar muy turístico para los españoles, que saben apreciar la belleza de la región.
Los registros indican que la ciudad de Cádiz se remonta a más de 3.000 años de antigüedad y fue lugar de los pobladores ibéricos. La región fue ocupada por los griegos, fenicios, cartagineses - para quienes fue un importante punto comercial, los romanos, quienes fueron derrotados posteriormente por los visigodos. Debido a su ubicación, tan próxima al continente africano, ha sido siempre visto como una importante región estratégica y comercial.
Cádiz, en los siglos XVII y XVIII fue una de las ciudades más importantes del mundo, al nivel de Londres, Ámsterdam o Paris. Por ella pasaba el 50% de los ingresos del imperio español que traían las Flotas de Nueva España (comercio de Ultramar con América) y Tierra Firme, cuyo peso en oro se multiplicaba por cinco por llevar también en sus bodegas los fondos de los particulares, que engrasarían la economía europea y serian el germen de su supremacía mundial hasta casi la actualidad. Capturar una flota del tesoro era el sueño de toda potencia, así que esta pujanza atrajo ataques de piratas, desde el ataque de Drake de 1587, hasta el de Nelson en 1797. También el saqueo de la ciudad en 1596, y las victorias españolas de 1625 y 1702, así como los intentos de capturar la flota del tesoro de 1642 y de 1656. Todo esto hace que la ciudad se fortifique construyendo baluartes defensivos, castillos y torres de vigía en cada azotea.
Los Pueblos Blancos están ubicados en la Sierra de Cádiz, una de las seis comarcas en las que se divide la provincia gaditana. Su extensión coincide en buena parte con el Parque Natural de la Sierra de Grazalema y con el Parque Natural de los Alcornocales.
El Parque Natural Sierra de Grazalema es considerado uno de los mayores tesoros naturales en Andalucía por su amplia variedad botánica y faunística. Además, es hogar de una especie endémica de conífera, el pinsapar, que ocupa más de 400 hectáreas.
El Parque Natural de Los Alcornocales constituye el otro entorno en los que se localizan los Pueblos Blancos, además de uno de los más grandes de la Península. Considerado como cuna de culturas milenarias y lugar de asentamiento de diferentes civilizaciones, su espacio es ocupado casi en su totalidad por bosques autóctonos mediterráneos.

Jimena de la Frontera is a beautiful and historic village in the province of Cádiz, in Andalusia. It is only 20 minutes to Sotogrande and the beaches. Lots of outdoor activities, including hiking, walking routes, equestrians, and polo.

Cádiz is a province of southern Spain, in the southwestern part of the autonomous community of Andalusia, the southernmost part of continental Western Europe as well as of the entire continent.
It is bordered by the Spanish provinces of Huelva, Seville, and Málaga, as well as the Atlantic Ocean, the Mediterranean Sea, the Strait of Gibraltar and the British overseas territory of Gibraltar. Its area is 7,385 square kilometers.
Its capital is the city of Cádiz, which has a population of more than 128,000. The largest city is Jerez de la Frontera with 208,896 inhabitants (as of 2010), and another important city is Algeciras with just over 114,000 inhabitants. The entire province had a population of 1,240,175 (as of 2014), of whom about 600,000 live in the Bay of Cádiz area. Its population density is 167.93 per square kilometer.
Political and traditional subdivisions (comarcas)
The province encompasses 44 municipalities; besides its capital, other important cities are Jerez and Algeciras. (See the list of municipalities in Cádiz.) According to a roster developed by the Council of Tourism and Sport of Andalusia on 27 March 2003, there are officially six traditional or touristic comarcas (provincial areas or counties) in the Province of Cádiz:

In this Cadiz, Spain Vlog, I take you with me as I explore my new favorite place in Spain, showing you what to do with 1 day in Cadiz, Spain. Before visiting Cadiz, Spain I didn’t know too much about this city as not many people I met during my travels have been to Cadiz, Spain before. But, oh man, did I fall in love with the magical city of Cadiz, from its old town center to the beautiful beaches and incredible architecture. I hope you enjoy my Cadiz Spain tour!
To start off my Cadiz Spain Vlog, I went to a beautiful cafe in Cadiz old town called El Cafe de Ana. After a delicious breakfast I walked to the Cadiz Central Market to experience local life in Cadiz, Spain and watch tons of people buy and sell fresh fish. Next on my Cadiz Spain Travel Vlog, I climbed to the top of Tavira Tower for incredible views over the city of Cadiz. The views from the top of Tavira Tower are absolutely spectacular. You have amazing views over the Cadiz old town and the beautiful blue water. Visiting the top of the Tavira Tower is definitely one of the best things to do in Cadiz, Spain.
Next up on my Cadiz Spain tour, I walked to Genoves Park, which is the main park in Cadiz. After roaming around the park, I walked to the Santa Catalina Castle, which is one of my favorite places I visited in my Cadiz Spain Vlog. Right next to the Santa Catalina Castle is the main city beach in Cadiz, Spain called La Caleta Beach, which is a must visit in Cadiz. I also tried to visit the Castle of San Sebastian but it was unfortunately closed during my time in Cadiz, but the walk to the castle was still gorgeous!
For lunch in my Cadiz, Spain Vlog, I went to a neighborhood called La Vina to get some delicious fresh fish for lunch. The La Vina neighborhood is a great place to walk around and enjoy the city of Cadiz. Next on my Cadiz Spain tour, I went to the famous Cadiz Cathedral, which is absolutely stunning and a must visit in Cadiz, Spain. After admiring the Cadiz Cathedral, I went to another one of Cadiz, Spain’s many beaches called La Playita / Playa de las Mujeres / Playa de Santa Maria Del Mar. This is a great place to both swim and surf, depending on the conditions!
I hope you enjoyed my Cadiz Spain Vlog and tour of Cadiz Spain! I still don’t understand why more people don’t visit Cadiz, Spain, because I fell in love with this city and I hope to go back soon!

Cadiz is a village in Cadiz Township, Harrison County, Ohio. Established in 1803. The town is named after the Spanish city Cadiz. The court house was constructed during 1893 to1895 by Joseph W. Yost. Cadiz is also known as the birth place of actor Clark Gable, he is most well known for his roll as Rhett Butler in the classic movie "Gone With the Wind". You can take the museum tour and see many of his rare collectible memorabilia. (You are permitted to take photos and video in the gift area and out side but not in the main floors of the house). So there is a lot to see. The tour guide was so pleasant and informative. It is a must see if your in the area.

Cadiz (/ˈkædɪs/ KAD-iss[6]) is a village in Cadiz Township, Harrison County, Ohio, United States located about 20 miles from Steubenville. The population was 3,353 at the 2010 census. It is the county seat of Harrison County
Cadiz was founded in 1803 at the junction of westward roads from Pittsburgh and Washington, Pennsylvania, and named after Cadiz, Spain. The town became the county seat of newly formed Harrison County in 1813.[8] By 1840, Cadiz had 1,028 residents; by 1846, the town had four churches and 21 stores.[9][10] The Steubenville and Indiana Railroad, a predecessor of the Pennsylvania Railroad, opened to Cadiz June 11, 1854.[11]
In the early and mid nineteenth century, several local families operated 'stations' and served as 'conductors' in the Underground Railroad, helping runaway slaves escape to Canada.[9]
By 1880 population had nearly doubled and the town had three newspapers and three banks.[10]
Early industry was based on agriculture and processing farm products. In 1889, a brief oil boom began with the shipment of 120 barrels of oil produced in nearby Green Township.[12] Coal mining, both underground and surface, became the prominent industry through most of the twentieth century. More recently the development of the Marcellus Shale in the surrounding area has made Cadiz a center for natural gas production. The MarkWest Complex, opened in 2012, processes more than 180 million cubic feet of natural gas per day for shipment via pipeline to Mont Belvieu, Texas.

If you’ve spent any time in Ohio as a visitor, you may have been impressed. By what I’m not sure. And from what I hear, many Ohio residents have some amount of state pride. I mean they could live in West Virginia, so it’s not the worst place in the country.
And believe it or not, there are people who are thinking about moving to Ohio, so we’re gonna talk about the places you DON'T want to live in this state if you do that. Ohio people know them by heart and can rattle them off pretty quickly. Most of these won’t be a huge shock for Ohioans. All we’re gonna do is rank them in order.
For our worst places in Ohio ranking, we’re going to be fair about things and use statistics. Things like crime rates and poverty and other measuring sticks such as quality of schools and home prices. In the end, we’ll know the undisputed loser as the worst place to live in the Buckeye State. And much of it has to do with the drugs and the decline of auto jobs. Let’s begin, shall we?
