Hook is a 1991 American fantasy film directed by Steven Spielberg. The film stars Dustin Hoffman in the title role, Robin Williams, Julia Roberts, Bob Hoskins, and features Maggie Smith, Caroline Goodall, Charlie Korsmo, Amber Scott, and Dante Basco. Hook acts as a sequel to Peter Pan's original adventures, focusing on a grown-up Peter who has forgotten his childhood. Now known as "Peter Banning", he is a successful corporate lawyer with a wife and two children. Captain Hook kidnaps his two children, and he must return to Neverland and reclaim his youthful spirit as Peter Pan in order to challenge his old enemy.
Spielberg began developing the film in the early-1980s with Walt Disney Productions and Paramount Pictures, which would have followed the storyline seen in the 1953 animated film and 1924 silent film. Peter Pan entered pre-production in 1985, but Spielberg abandoned the project. James V. Hart developed the script with director Nick Castle and TriStar Pictures before Spielberg decided to direct in 1989. Hook was shot entirely on sound stages at Sony Pictures Studios in Culver City, California. Although receiving negative reviews by critics at the time of its release, it was a success with audiences, grossing over $300 million worldwide, and was nominated for multiple categories at the 64th Academy Awards. It also spawned merchandise, including video games, action figures and comic book adaptations.

Plot
After superstar NFL quarterback, ROMAN CHRISTOPHE, says goodbye to a cheating wife, he takes an opportunity to re-acquaint himself with his eight year old daughter, CHRISTIAN, and her mother, POLLY. Without hesitation, Roman makes his intentions clear. He wants to reconcile. The tranquil, yet, spunky town of William Moss, West Virginia is soon overwhelmed upon the arrival of mega-star athlete Roman Christophe. Business at the town's only coffee and pastry shop has never been better. However, not nearly as star struck as her easily impressed community at large; Polly, shop owner, makes it perfectly clear that even amidst the sudden increase in revenue, a reconciliation with the three time Super Bowl MVP is absolutely out of the question. The shit hits the fan when Roman, finally accepting Polly's ill affection, begins courting ALLISON PARKER, his daughter's third grade teacher. In the meantime, Polly, obviously oblivious to the town's newest romantic item, begins to shrug her disdain for Roman. The thought of a life with he and Christian seems more like a happy ending rather than a spiteful ending. Needless to say, sparks can be seen clear across the county when Polly runs into Roman and Ms. Parker in the unmentionable section of the William Moss drug store. When the dust finally settles, the town that nestles itself 200 miles south of Washington, D.C. and a million miles from the rest of the world will never be the same.

I was blind
I was lame
I was nothing
'Till you came
You said ";Babe,
Make you sing
Make you feel
Like some queen";
Said ";I'll take you Kathleen
To your home and mine";
Lord, he hooked me
Fish hook and line
And rode in fucking mad (?)
With a halo of deep black
'Til my love made me gag
Call him Daddy, take my hand
Said ";I'll take you Kathleen
To your home and mine";
Good Lord, he hooked me
Fish hook and line
I'm hooked
Oh higher
Oh beautful
Oh higher
Oh beautiful
Oh higher
Now I'm blind and I'm lame
Left with nothing but his stain
";Daddy your maid, she can't sing
She can't feel, she's no queen!";
Said ";I'll take you Kathleen
To your home and mine";
Lord he hooked me
Fish hook and line
Said ";I'll take you Kathleen
To your home and mine";
Good lord he hooked me
'Leen out of time
I was blind
I was lame
I was nothing
'Till you came
You said "Babe,
Make you sing
Make you feel
Like some queen"
Said "I'll take you Kathleen
To your home and mine"

It doesn't matter what I say
So long as I sing with inflection
That makes you feel that I'll convey
Some inner truth of vast reflection
But I've said nothing so far
And I can keep it up as long as it takes
And it don't matter who you are
If I'm doing my job, it's your resolve that breaks
Because the hook brings you back
I ain't tellin' you no lie
The hook brings you back
On that you can rely
There is something amiss
I am being insincere
In fact I don't mean any of this
Still my confession draws you near
To confuse the issue I refer
To familiar heroes from long ago
No matter how much Peter loved her
What made the Pan refuse to grow?
Was that the hook brings you back
I ain't telling you no lie
The hook brings you back
On that you can rely
Suck it in suck it in suck it in
If you're Rin Tin Tin or Anne Boleyn
Make a desperate move or else you'll win
And then begin
to see
What you're doing to me this MTV is not for free
It's so PC it's killing me
So desperately I sing to thee of love
Sure but also rage and hate and pain and fear of self
And I can't keep these feelings on the shelf
I tried, well no in fact I lied
Could be financial suicide but I've got too much pride inside
To hide or slide
I'll do as I'll decide and let it ride until I've died
And only then shall I abide this tide
Of catchy little tunes
Of hip three minute ditties
I wanna bust all your balloons
I wanna burn all of your cities to the ground
I've found I will not mess around
Unless I play then hey
I will go on all day hear what I say
I have a prayer to pray
That's really all this was
And when I'm feeling stuck and need a buck
I don't rely on luck because
The hook brings you back
I ain't tellin' you no lie
The hook...
you so complete, so much cooler than me. you will be the catch... you, in your sleep, still could land on your feet. you will be the catch of a lifetime.
When you're all alone
Far away from home
There's a gift the angel sent
When you're alone
Everyday must end
But the night's our friend
Angels always send a star
When you're alone
At night when I'm alone
I lie awake and wonder
Which of them belongs to me
Which one I wonder?
And any star I choose
Watches over me
So I know I'm not alone
When I'm here on my own
Isn't that a wonder?
When you're alone
You're not alone
Not really alone
The stars are all my friends
Till the night time ends
So I know I'm not alone
When I'm here on my own
Isn't that a wonder?
When you're alone
You're not alone
Not really alone
I was blind I was pained

fish hook and line
I'm hooked
I'm too far
oh beautiful
I'm bound and I'm lame
life is nothing with his chain
daddy wait she can't sing
she can't feel she's no queen
said I'll take you Kathleen
to your home and mine
lord he hooked me

said I'll take you Kathleen
