Photos
Framed in a whole new way.
For the first time, iCloud Photo Library gives you access to your entire Mac photo and video library from all your devices. If you shoot a snapshot, slow-motion video or selfie on your iPhone, it’s automatically added to iCloud Photo Library as well — so it appears on your Mac, your iOS devices and iCloud.com. And since your collection is organised the same way across your devices, navigating your library always feels familiar. Learn more
When you make changes on your Mac like editing a photo, marking a Favourite or adding to an album, they’re kept up to date on your iPhone, your iPad and iCloud.com. And vice versa — any changes made on your iOS devices are automatically reflected on your Mac.
iCloud Photo Library can help you make the most of the space on your Mac. When you choose “Optimise Mac Storage”, all your full-resolution photos and videos are stored in iCloud in their original formats, with storage-saving versions kept on your Mac as space is needed. You can also optimise storage on your iPhone, iPad and iPod touch, so you can access more photos and videos than ever before. You get 5GB of free storage in iCloud — and as your library grows, you have the option to choose a plan for up to 1TB.
The beautiful all-new design of the Photos app uses Moments, Collections and Years views to automatically organise your photos and videos by when and where they were taken. With dramatically more screen space devoted to your photos, you can easily scan your entire library at a glance and quickly find the content you’re looking for. A new, streamlined toolbar puts the right controls at your fingertips, giving you instant access to the photos you’ve shared, the albums you’ve made and the projects you’ve created. And you can even use gestures to browse your entire photo collection with just a touch.
Collections are made up of distinct Moments that were taken at the same place, such as your four-day trip to the Southwest.
View your entire library in a beautiful mosaic of all the photos and videos you’ve taken each year. Click any thumbnail to bring up a preview, and scrub over the collection to see previews of every image. Just click any preview to open it up.
With iCloud Photo Sharing, you can get an overview of the photos and videos you’ve shared with friends and family, and the ones they’ve shared with you. And it’s easier than ever to see Likes and Comments that have been posted.
Take a look at the Albums and Smart Albums you’ve created, as well as the preset ones, which automatically group your photos into Favourites, Videos, Panoramas and more.
View the books, cards, calendars, print orders and slideshows you’ve created. You can keep working on existing projects or start new ones with ease.
