My name is Erica, and I love yoga almost as much as I love my dog. That’s a lot.
I first came to yoga in high school. A friend’s mother was a yoga teacher and spent her weekends teaching us meditation. As a young artist, I adored this tool as a means of delving deeper into myself and exploring my creativity.
As I grew older, I found that the physical practice of yoga gave me a sense of both strength and serenity in my body. My muscles felt alive, I felt energetic, and my mind felt calm. A perfect combination.
After years of practice, I completed my 200-hour yoga teacher training in the summer of 2014 at Om Factory in New York, NY. My teachers, Amanda Winkler and Kirsten Trued, as well as our guest speakers, instilled in me a love of anatomy, coupled with a nonjudgmental approach to asana. It is through yoga that we are able to learn about, and thus come to love, our amazingly unique bodies.
I am Yoga Alliance registered, RYT-200, and am currently teaching on Mondays and Wednesdays at AE Fitness Montclair. If you have any questions or want to know more, just give me a holler!
