Aakrosh (2010 film)
Aakrosh is a 2010 Indian action-thriller film directed by Priyadarshan. The movie deals with honor killings based upon real incidents that happened in the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh. The film has a lot of similarities to the 1988 Hollywood film Mississippi Burning that has a similar story line. The film has Ajay Devgan, Akshaye Khanna, Bipasha Basu, Paresh Rawal and Reema Sen in the lead roles. The film was produced by Kumar Mangat Pathak under the banner of Big Screen Entertainer. The soundtrack of the film has been composed by Pritam and the lyricist is Irshad Kamil. The film features cinematography by Thiru, the production design by Sabu Cyril and the editing by Arun Kumar. Tyag Rajan and R.P Yadav arranged and choreographed the action sequences of the film.
Plot
Three friends from Delhi go missing in a small village – Jhanjhar. It's two months and there is no clue about their disappearance. The media and students movement demand action from the authorities. It's then that the government orders a Central Bureau of Investigation enquiry with officers Sidhant Chaturvedi (Akshaye Khanna) and Pratap Kumar (Ajay Devgn) to solve the case. They find it difficult to solve the case as the local police and other authorities are a part of Shool Sena, which is responsible for illicit activities. Sidhant and Pratap also face Superintendent of police Ajatshatru Singh IPS (Paresh Rawal), a ruthless police officer who misuses his power. Not only that even the locals don't support the investigation.

Hindi (Hindi: हिन्दी hindī), sometimes spelled हिंदी, also called Modern Standard Hindi (Hindi: मानक हिन्दी mānak hindī), is a standardised and Sanskritised register of the Hindustani language. Hindi is the official language of the Union of India.
In the 2001 Indian census, 258 million people in India reported Hindi to be their native language. However, this number includes tens of millions of people who are native speakers of related languages but who consider their speech to be a dialect of Hindi.
Hindi is the fourth most natively spoken language in the world after Mandarin, Spanish and English.

However, widespread resistance to the imposition of Hindi on non-native speakers, especially in South India (such as the those in Tamil Nadu), Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh and West Bengal, led to the passage of the Official Languages Act of 1963, which provided for the continued use of English indefinitely for all official purposes, although the constitutional directive for the Union Government to encourage the spread of Hindi was retained and has strongly influenced its policies.

Introduction
Starring Niharica Raizada, Prashantt Guptha, Ashrut Jain, Gaurav Paswalla, Gaurav Kothari and Disha Kapoor in lead roles., and cinematography by Sathya Hegde who is a prominent cinematographer in Kannada film industry and has done movies like Duniya, Jackie, Myna. The film tells the story of a group of youngsters whose mountain trek goes awfully wrong. This is one of the first Hindi horror films in the found footage genre.
Plot
The film tells the story of six friends whose mountain trek goes awfully wrong. They encounter bizarre incidents during their mountain trek. These incidents are recorded in a video recorder. Samrat is the local goon of Debipur who is a terror for the corrupt and a saviour of the poor. He is the only solace of the poor villagers against all odds including the evil moneylender Pannalal. His increasing power and popularity with the people led to the Police department bring in their best man, Subroto in charge of the area. This leads to a tiff between the two brothers, unknown of each other’s identity. Samrat is actually the elder brother of Subroto, who was left at the hands of a nurse soon after his birth by the unmarried mother’s father (Subroto’s grandfather). It is destiny again that the brothers are united followed by a happy ending where the mother and the father accepts the elder son into the family with open arms.

Due to his illegal activities, Anjali Gujral separates from Mahendra Pratap Gujral, and marries Dr. Malhotra. She does bring up her son, Dev from her first marriage, who grows up to become a Police Officer. Years later, on the tracks of Gujral, Dev, and his close colleague, Komal come across Suraj Singh, and find out that he is indeed Gujral. At this point Gujral decides to play on Dev's emotions by reminding of his past affection for him, and blaming his entire criminal career on a politician, Rajvansh Shashtri. Dev must now decide to go after Shastri, or disbelieve his father altogether.

But Bhiku's wife commits suicide out of shame. Soon after his father's death, the police bring him to the funeral grounds in manacles and shackles to complete the Last Rites of his dead father. Synopsis:::
Samrat is the local goon of Debipur who is a terror for the corrupt and a saviour of the poor. He is the only solace of the poor villagers against all odds including the evil moneylender Pannalal. His increasing power and popularity with the people led to the Police department bring in their best man, Subroto in charge of the area. This leads to a tiff between the two brothers, unknown of each other’s identity. Samrat is actually the elder brother of Subroto, who was left at the hands of a nurse soon after his birth by the unmarried mother’s father (Subroto’s grandfather). It is destiny again that the brothers are united followed by a happy ending where the mother and the father accepts the elder son into the family with open arms.

The boxers are from the victorian era their names: Eugene Hornbacker & Murphy Their debut was in 1894, when the inventor Thomas Edison hired them to perform in a boxing match for a Kinetoscope short. The Dickson Experimental Sound Film
This short film was a test for Edison's "Kinetophone" project, the first attempt in history to record sound and moving image in synchronization. This was an experiment by William Dickson to put sound and film together either in 1894 or 1895. Unfortunately, this experiment failed because they didn't understand synchronization of sound and film. According to Edison film historian C. Musser, this film and others shot on the same day (see also Sioux Ghost Dance) featured Native American Indian dancers from Buffalo Bill's Wild West show, and represent the American Indian's first appearance before a motion picture camera.

The Buffalo Dance, or Bison Dance, is an annual dance festival of many North American Plains Indians, including the Mandan, Sioux, Cheyenne, Pawnee, and Omaha, among others. The festival traditionally coincided with the return of the buffalo herds, and included a feast and a dance with a number of men wearing buffalo and other animal skins.
As the buffalo, or bison, was so central to society, it was important to assure the return of the herd and an abundance of food and resources.
A short, 16-second, black-and-white silent 1894 film Buffalo Dance shows people performing the dance. It is notable for being one of the earliest films made featuring Native Americans.

This short historic film was directed by William K.L. Dickson. The boxers are from the victorian era their names: Eugene Hornbacker & Murphy
Their debut was in 1894, when the inventor Thomas Edison hired them to perform in a boxing match for a Kinetoscope short. This was Hornbacker's only appearance in film as he starred in no more of Edison's Kinetoscope subjects, and thus he remained a minor part in the silent cinema, both acting and none-acting.
Story: A referee and five fans (including a waiter in his apron) look on as two young men box. The dark-haired, slightly taller boxer throws a right and the light-haired smaller one goes down; but he's up before the referee starts counting. After the knockdown, the boxers mostly hit each other's gloves. The fans, at least one of whom is sitting inside the ring, show no animation. They're all men, dressed in a range of late 19th-century

This short film was a test for Edison's "Kinetophone" project, the first attempt in history to record sound and moving image in synchronization. This was an experiment by William Dickson to put sound and film together either in 1894 or 1895. Unfortunately, this experiment failed because they didn't understand synchronization of sound and film. The large cone on the left hand side of the frame is the "microphone" for the wax cylinder recorder (off-camera). The Library of Congress had the film. The wax cylinder soundtrack, however, was believed lost for many years. Tantalizingly, a broken cylinder labeled "Violin by WKL Dickson with Kineto" was catalogued in the 1964 inventory at the Edison National Historic Site. In 1998, Patrick Loughney, curator of Film and Television at the Library of Congress, retrieved the cylinder and had it repaired and re-recorded at the Rodgers and Hammerstein Archive of Recorded Sound, Lincoln Center, New York. Since the Library did not possess the necessary synchronizing technology, Loughney - at the suggestion of producer Rick Schmidlin - sent multi-Oscar winner Walter Murch a videotape of the 17 seconds of film and an audiocassette of 3 minutes and 20 seconds of sound with a request to marry the two. By digitizing the media and using digital editing software, Murch was able to synchronize them and complete the failed experiment 105 years later. This 35mm film was generously made available to the Internet Archive by Walter Murch and Sean Cullen.

Synopsis:::
Samrat is the local goon of Debipur who is a terror for the corrupt and a saviour of the poor. He is the only solace of the poor villagers against all odds including the evil moneylender Pannalal. His increasing power and popularity with the people led to the Police department bring in their best man, Subroto in charge of the area. This leads to a tiff between the two brothers, unknown of each other’s identity. Samrat is actually the elder brother of Subroto, who was left at the hands of a nurse soon after his birth by the unmarried mother’s father (Subroto’s grandfather). It is destiny again that the brothers are united followed by a happy ending where the mother and the father accepts the elder son into the family with open arms.

Due to his illegal activities, Anjali Gujral separates from Mahendra Pratap Gujral, and marries Dr. Malhotra. She does bring up her son, Dev from her first marriage, who grows up to become a Police Officer. Years later, on the tracks of Gujral, Dev, and his close colleague, Komal come across Suraj Singh, and find out that he is indeed Gujral. At this point Gujral decides to play on Dev's emotions by reminding of his past affection for him, and blaming his entire criminal career on a politician, Rajvansh Shashtri. "Aakrosh is considered as one of the milesone movies made on social issues. The story is of a peasant Bhiku (Om Puri) who is oppressed by landowners and his foremen. His wife (Smita Patil) is raped by the foreman who then has him arrested to hide his own crime. Lawyer Bhaskar (Naseeruddin Shah) tries to help Bhiku out. But Bhiku's wife commits suicide out of shame. Soon after his father's death, the police bring him to the funeral grounds in manacles and shackles to complete the Last Rites of his dead father. There he sees the foreman looking at his sister with lustful eyes. Divining the fate that is in store for her, he suddenly grabs an axe and chops off his sister's head. Watch out the movie.

Synopsis:::
Samrat is the local goon of Debipur who is a terror for the corrupt and a saviour of the poor. He is the only solace of the poor villagers against all odds including the evil moneylender Pannalal. His increasing power and popularity with the people led to the Police department bring in their best man, Subroto in charge of the area. This leads to a tiff between the two brothers, unknown of each other’s identity. Samrat is actually the elder brother of Subroto, who was left at the hands of a nurse soon after his birth by the unmarried mother’s father (Subroto’s grandfather). It is destiny again that the brothers are united followed by a happy ending where the mother and the father accepts the elder son into the family with open arms.

The Buffalo Dance, or Bison Dance, is an annual dance festival of many North American Plains Indians, including the Mandan, Sioux, Cheyenne, Pawnee, and Omaha, among others. The festival traditionally coincided with the return of the buffalo herds, and included a feast and a dance with a number of men wearing buffalo and other animal skins.
As the buffalo, or bison, was so central to society, it was important to assure the return of the herd and an abundance of food and resources.
A short, 16-second, black-and-white silent 1894 film Buffalo Dance shows people performing the dance. It is notable for being one of the earliest films made featuring Native Americans.
The Buffalo Dance can also refer to section of larger ceremonies and dances, such as the Sun Dance. In some societies it was also a dance more associated with curing the ill, calling on the spirit of the buffalo. - Wikipedia

This short historic film was directed by William K.L. Dickson. The boxers are from the victorian era their names: Eugene Hornbacker & Murphy
Their debut was in 1894, when the inventor Thomas Edison hired them to perform in a boxing match for a Kinetoscope short. This was Hornbacker's only appearance in film as he starred in no more of Edison's Kinetoscope subjects, and thus he remained a minor part in the silent cinema, both acting and none-acting.
Story: A referee and five fans (including a waiter in his apron) look on as two young men box. The dark-haired, slightly taller boxer throws a right and the light-haired smaller one goes down; but he's up before the referee starts counting. After the knockdown, the boxers mostly hit each other's gloves. The fans, at least one of whom is sitting inside the ring, show no animation. They're all men, dressed in a range of late 19th-century

This short film was a test for Edison's "Kinetophone" project, the first attempt in history to record sound and moving image in synchronization. This was an experiment by William Dickson to put sound and film together either in 1894 or 1895. Unfortunately, this experiment failed because they didn't understand synchronization of sound and film. The large cone on the left hand side of the frame is the "microphone" for the wax cylinder recorder (off-camera). The Library of Congress had the film. The wax cylinder soundtrack, however, was believed lost for many years. Tantalizingly, a broken cylinder labeled "Violin by WKL Dickson with Kineto" was catalogued in the 1964 inventory at the Edison National Historic Site. In 1998, Patrick Loughney, curator of Film and Television at the Library of Congress, retrieved the cylinder and had it repaired and re-recorded at the Rodgers and Hammerstein Archive of Recorded Sound, Lincoln Center, New York. Since the Library did not possess the necessary synchronizing technology, Loughney - at the suggestion of producer Rick Schmidlin - sent multi-Oscar winner Walter Murch a videotape of the 17 seconds of film and an audiocassette of 3 minutes and 20 seconds of sound with a request to marry the two. By digitizing the media and using digital editing software, Murch was able to synchronize them and complete the failed experiment 105 years later. This 35mm film was generously made available to the Internet Archive by Walter Murch and Sean Cullen.
