William Steele ( William Farnum ) a rich young businessman purchases his favorite vacation resort, but the sale is contested by feisty Beatrice, ( Louise Lovely ) as she believes the property is part of her land. She challenges him to build a cabin on the land, and if he succeeds she will reward him with a home cooked dinner. Meanwhile, Beatrice is abducted by a fellow she asked to help her win the bet, and when the young businessman learns of her betrayal, he comes to her rescue. Both realizing they have fallen in love with each other, William and Beatrice cancel the bet by combining their land into marriage.

In the Rough

Will Ryan is a man who has always done the right thing. He plays by the rules, and never feeds on drama. But playing with the big boys means navigating the ruthless world of tournament golf, where competitive rivals, corrupt sponsors and personal demons are all waiting to test the limits of Will's skill and perseverance on the green - and his cheating ex-girlfriend and potential new girlfriend are there to test him. Ultimately, the real challenge comes from within himself as he must transcend the drama of his life to find glory in the game.

Brolli's suffering begins. This is what you were waiting for, right? The torture continues within about a week. Stayed tuned for the full film screening announcement... Slight note about the ending *spoilers to those who haven't seen the episode*: It seems there are some peeps who are a bit stirred up about the ending of this episode, not regarding the destruction of the mansion, but the fact that Flandre didn't just violate spell card rules like the beasts and kill them all in one blow with her power to destroy anything. Everyone was expecting homicidal maniac Flandre, and not crazy-and-immature-but-still-a-resident-of-Gensokyo Flandre. DitR has always been about destroying expectations regarding both Self Insert Fics and Touhou Fanon, and this is a case where Fanon seems to have won: they thought I merely defeated Flandre for shock value, or just made her "conveniently forget" she could use her powers. She did not: like everyone else, she chose to fight by spell card rules. I know better than to give people idiot balls for plot convenience: even if Flandre wanted to do that, I would've just re-written the scene to where the Beasts escape and destroy the mansion while dodging her attacks. However, as odd as this sounds given how Flandre is treated in fandom, I chose to remain faithful to canon. In addition, here are some canon sources regarding Flandre. In the end, Tenshi will be a martyr or the hero to all who opposed Colonel Diamondback... ... unless Brolli can somehow take a third option. It's not too late to be different... It's the penultimate episode of Diamond In The Rough! The final episode is not too far off, and it's a doozy: clocking in at roughly thirty minutes, prepare for hair-raising battles, plot twists galore, more reasons to hate Yukari than you already do, and an ending that has already sent hundreds of Ustream watchers into tears. Because of the length, it will likely be split into two parts: Episode 20a and 20b. Farewell, Gensokyo... And so, after years of contending with both good and bad issues in the Walfas community, balancing real life, and my own health issues, I finished a four-hour cartoon. Yet, there will still be people out there who will forever believe that my production of this now-complete series is a "never-ending treadmill to milk public attention with the promise of a project that will never be complete." Still, I thank all of you for sticking with me throughout this crazy ride of late nights, wacky conversations, battling writing blocks, and Touhou. LOTS of Touhou. I want to thank every single person who attended the stream and either gave me feedback or kept me entertained, as well as all of my good and bad reviews (especially the bad reviews: those led to me forging the best scenes). Although the screenings are all done in good fun, I pride myself on getting reactions out of people so I can upgrade the story, and that's where most of the production time for this final episode went: tweaking the emotional bits of this last part (and the fact we got stream regular/WSW admin DeityDiz crying at the final shot is enough to let me know it worked). Although I animated and directed it, this project was essentially co-written by all of you, so feel proud of yourselves. I jumped on the opportunity and flew out to Boston to spend a day in Tommy's shop. The experience wasn't all that unlike what I do every day in my own shop: video cameras and woodworking. It's kind of what I do. But there was one key difference: I wasn't calling the shots. That means I had to break my habit of looking at the camera and I had absolutely no control over what made it into the final version of the show. That was all very new to me. The show has already aired on PBS in many markets but some cities don't even carry the show. Furthermore, folks outside the US might have trouble getting access. So I contacted the powers that be and asked if it would be possible to run the episode here on The Wood Whisperer. I was surprised and delighted that they said yes. So I'd thank to thank the folks at WGBH for letting me do this, as well as David M. and Tommy for helping make it all happen.
