Looked down upon by some because of its foreign manufacture and investment cast receiver, I discuss the realities of the S.A. M1A as I discovered them. This journey took me through 16 years of shooting these guns with heavy involvement here in TNP during the last three years. In meeting mil-spec, the S.A. M1A is far from the military M14 and differences abound. However in practical use they are the same gun and have the same capabilities. As such the SA M1A in some ways inherits the storied track record of the M14

Dispelling Myths of Long Range Shooting & the Sniper Fantasy
As long as there will be a need to combat evil, there will be a need for guns. And if there's a need for guns there's a need for making the precision long range rifle shot. But there is much foolishness and misunderstanding on the serious subject of sniping and the difficulty of making a successful long distance shot. Human factors and a myriad of hard to pin down variables conspire against the very precise long rang rifle shot. Don’t believe all your read or see on the subject; much of it is doctored to manipulate the audience. Intended for a principled LE, Military, and Civilian audience, that along with many interesting issues is addr

Piloting things is what we do in this family, we're good at at it, and we enjoy it. But it goes much deeper and we talk about several key aspects you need to consider first: safety, risk management, experience, training, economic benefits, adventures, styles, situational awareness, the art of multi-tasking, motorcycle choices, buying used, upkeep, coolness factor, insurance considerations, lane splitting, going fast, going slow, carrying cargo and people, cold weather use, bike modifications, and more. You will see some of the many Nutnfancy motorcycle adventures from the past two years on the dirt, in the woods, on the streets and coastlines of several states. It is a fun and engaging talk with the boys in the Nutnfancy garage and even Mrs Nutnfancy makes a surprise appearance. It’s time to face the realities of the currently produced Remington 700. It kinda’ sucks…at least in this .300WM caliber. Perhaps under the guidance of “Freedom Group,” Remington has lost its soul. That’s a fear of mine whenever a corporate entity takes over a historic company. The bottom line then dictates the gun construction and saving money. What is not debatable are the LONG TERM results I bring to the table here: disappointing accuracy, horrible X-Mark Pro trigger [and previous triggers too], poor ejection, and poor quality control [chamber problems]. This gun is NOT GTW ready (the .300WM Long Range sample shot and discussed here). Watch the whole video for details. Having shot the 700 since I was 10, I know the gun well. The Remington 700 has not evolved into a better gun and with this video I’ll say it falls well short of the better competition. Time to sell and step into a more capable bolt gun. Who cares how cheap it is if it can't shoot? Consider the Savage, Tikka, and FN offerings for something more impressive.//////////////Nutnfancy Likability Scale for .300WM chambered Remington 700: 4 out of 10

I like showing some of the realities of tactical shooting in TNP. Coming to you in a bare bones basic edit, "Point Break Actual Part 1" shows BuggetNuster and I doing just that in a beautiful high desert basin. Much discussion is included about the optics choices, exterior ballsistics, effective ranging, camouflage, the packs, the load outs, the hike, and connecting with our guns at extended ranges. We're learning here as we go along and we should all be students. Filmed in October 2011, I wasn't so sure it would be interesting enough to post. But after re-watching it in post production, I think it will hold your interest if you're into the precision bolt guns like we are. The scenery is magnificent and the shots are long. Bugget employs a heavy Accuracy International clone build and I'm testing two Remingtons (.308 and .300 WM) in the "Point Break" shoot (and carrying two on the hike). First shot has us at about 600 yards on the Actiontarget.com steel way down below in the basin. The sloping hills we have to shoot on brings some complications and you'll see our solutions as the series progresses. Always time crunched, I wasn't able to get my ballistics tables pre-printed, tested, and ready and without a BC for some loads, some experimentation was going on. The day was near perfection though for yet another epic gear testing adventure with my buddy up in the mountains. Gear up for 1 hour free-of-charge Nutnfancy adventure.

The Arsenal AKs got me off the fence. I have been around AKs for many years but none moved me to purchase. Enter the Arsenal SGL 21 and SGL31, featuring close adherence to AK-74N specifications. Both are quality weapons that can motivate and excite the AK enthusiast. Close inspection of an Arsenal AK could very well turn you into a fan too. The Arsenal formula works on several levels for me: dogged adherence to Russian military technology, high attention to detail, completely new and unused components, full 922r compliancy with quality US Arsenal-produced parts, NATO length stocks sets available in great colors (Black, OD, Plum, Tan avail), reasonable pricing, and a light carry weight.
These Arsenals are a collaborative effort between the Legion custom shop of the Izhmash AK factory in the City of Izhesk, Udmurt Republic, Russian. They arrive to the Arsenal factory as Saiga sporting rifles and then are restored to Russian military form. There are others that do this but Arsenal is my favorite so far because of the value achieved. Once the restoration is complete, the resulting SGL is an impressive piece with authentic, quality features that add interest, improve shootability, and reliability: an AK-74 style muzzle brake on 24x1.5mm RH threading, properly placed Russian markings to include Izmash factory logo (upward arrow in triangle) and no extraneous commercial markings, correct AK front sight and 90º AK gas block (with vents), bayonet and accessory lugs, correct AK gas tube, cold hammer forged chrome-lined barrel, cleaning rod, high quality polymer pistol grip stock set (Warsaw or NATO length!) with double SS heat shields, sling attachments, "X" and "Y" receiver reinforcement stampings, mag well dimples (for increased mag security, rigidity), no extra openings fwd of mag well, receiver dimple for safety catch, factory mounted optics rail, 1000 meter sights, and Arsenal-made two-stage high reliability trigger set.
To confirm the vaidity of these features and their capabilities, several SGL 21s (7.62x39mm) and SGL 31s (5.45x39.5mm) were shot extensively in range and tactical scenarios over the course of six months in The Nutnfancy Project. Excellence was confirmed. The SGL31 seems to be the accuracy winner, with repeatable 2 MOA groupings in both range and tactical engagements (primarily using Russian 53gr corrosive ammo with mild steel core). The SGL21, after some errant groupings, achieved about 3 MOA groupings off the bench (some around coming to 2 MOA). Primary ammo was Wolf 122 gr FMJ. Reliability was 100%. Both guns however came alive during tactical testing in the Sledgehammer Drill wth the SGL21 scoring 60 and the SGL31 scoring 54 in my runs; higher point scores are definitely possible. With SH testing I did find the standard stock set to be lacking in ergonomics for me in roll over prone shooting and hence a fitting of the excellent Tapco T6 stock set was used to achieve higher SH scores. The Bulgarian Circle 10 magazines are outstanding and recommended: lightweight, tough, durable, fieldstrip-capable for mx, steel strap reinforced, steel retention tab, issued in colors (very cool), and ultra reliable. They remain my number one rec'd AK mag choice. The iron sights are excellent for an AK but still they exhibit the short radius of the type and I recommend integration and use of the K-VAR KV-04 optics rail (or other) to achieve maximum accuracy and night capabilities.
Carry weight on both guns is impressively light in their stock forms: about 7.3 lbs, partially due to the thinner barrels which adhere to the milspec technology. Fully outfitted with Weaver #849399 scope, KV-04 rail, Quark 123 Turbo tactical light, Circle 10 30 rd mag, Tapco furniture, and a KZ sling, the SGL21 weighs in at 9 lbs and 9 oz (my configuration). This is comparable to my "full-up" AR-15 carbine systems weights. Ergonomic issues still linger in the SGLs (address in http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XN-T_zeTdTM) but can be mitigated by training and practice. Value as of 2010 is excellent for the quality levels achieved: around $700 for the SGL21 , around $800 for the SGL31. An SGL21 then, for perspective, is essentially the same price as a Ruger Mini-14 Tactical. That's excellent value. Finally, after 1000s of rounds fired, I come away confident in their combat capabilities in terms of accuracy, reliability, and toughness. They score high marks from me in both "Types of Cool" (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yGsNeUQZ1f0). There are other quality AKs out there but the Arsenal formula remains the AK Gold Standard. /////////////////////// Nutnfancy Likability Scale: SGL21 and SGL31: 9 out of 10 at mid-2010 price levels //////////// Music: "Takin Yo Time ( The Wingman Mix )" by Loveshadow (feat. Hank Strange and I knew Nutnfancy has been hard to find at shot show because he does not hit the booth hard like a new youtber anymore. He has put in years of work and has grown and evolved and has a new path when it comes to Shot Show. He now meets with friends in the industry and basically "hangs out".
He was in disguise with absolutely no tactical clothing and absolutely no NUTNFANCY patches or hats. He even used a WalMart grocery bag as his gear bag. He was seriously trying to stay low key...but me & Hank spotted him and filmed our meet up.
Enjoy...
Btw Nutnfancy is the originator of you tubers filming at shot show if you dont already know. Love him or hate him...he paved the way for us all who attend the show. Which we now all bring to you guys at home...for free.

Much more than just an axe review, you might find this video incorporates the heart and soul TNP Wilderness experience. This frames a fascinating discussion of these Swedish Axes and Hatchets. I have found none better.///Tell them Nutnfancy sent ya': http://www.bensbackwoods.com/axes/

Say it isn't so: you have to leave your house and BUG OUT. Or do you? TNP started an internet movement years ago to HELP people both materially and mentally prepare WROL events. This movement was taken up by many others and is now expansive with a life of its own. Sometimes the the narrative of these media sources is shocking, almost wanting an opportunity to use weapons and/or BUG OUT. Pushing past that, we concentrate on the latter here. Is always leaving smart? Watch Nutnfancy's Top 10 Reasons why bugging out may be a stupid call. A sneak peak at the engaging discussion: Becoming a FEMA CAMP number, legal deeds, WROL will be temporary, the hard life you should expect, pioneer life is coming again, handcart companies, how most still don't get SAWC, Mongolians seem to be happy despite living in windswept wilderness, the realities of exposure, romance vs reality, roving gangs that will predate the unprepared, long term food storage, dealing with door knockers, the bastion of "neighborhood," BUG OUT locations, medical decisions (crucial decider), weapon realities that the internet/YT doesn't get, kit considerations, and much more. Sure to be another Nutnfancy Philosophy Fave by TNPrs.

Yay though I walk through the Valley of the Shadow of Death I shall fear no evil....because I have a Springfield Armory M1A. As such the SA M1A in some ways inherits the storied track record of the M14 as it continues to soldier on across the world killing bad guys at both close and long ranges. But it's also made its own track record, especially with me. I find the SA M1A to rank up there with the best heavy caliber semi-auto battle rifles made (FAL would be another). Reliability tops the list. During shooting tests three failed shots occurred (one FTE) but it was unclear if it was the 1980s machine gun ammo's fault or not. In Operation Red Skies (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GiZm35cNylM) my preferred type, the M1A Scout Squad, ran with impressive reliability. I would carry that gun into battle. Accuracy is also generally excellent from the type. I show both iron sight and optics assisted results but its reasonable to expect 1 to 2 MOA results with ammo it likes. Some SA M1As don't shoot quite that good and I show that too! Ergos carry over from the 1950s which is to say this is a full size, walnut and steel (or composite) battle rifle. It is not light nor is it easy to carry. In your POU you will have to make thoughtful choices of Firepower vs Mobility. Expect about a 10 lb naked carry weight depending on model chosen. But I love the feel of the M1A, its purposeful combat lines, and ideal balance. The two stage Garand trigger carries over and it shows excellent reliability and predictability. I rec' a NM modification on this to achieve a 4.5 to 5 lb pull. That makes me smile when found. The SA plastic stock is excellent if they get the mag well sizing correct. It has high traction, comes in colors, and its light. And you won't care if you beat it up in your shooting operations. Many configs are discussed and I show my faves, shot extensively for this review. Topping the list will again be the Scout Squad and all "Loaded" versions of Springfield's M1A. These loaded rifles come equipped with med wt NM barrel, NM trigger mod, and NM sight mods. It's the most rifle for the least money. The Squad functions well in ALL realistic POUs and excelled even in 600 yard night engagements with its 18" barrel. It's muzzle brake looks cool and works well. It is lighter and faster than the 22" barreled versions. The SOCOM 16 makes a hard hitting carbine that's compact and squared away but the SOCOM II with its goofy cluster rail is not endearing. It adds stupid weight and tears the hands. It may look cool in video games but I stripped it off for testing I hated it so bad. Nevertheless even that gun rocked my Sledgehammer Drill like no other .308 rifle has before or since (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oLMV8n_tW-A). It's GI fiberglass stock comes in some cool camo colorations as well. Durability of the SA M1A showed no weaknesses over the years of shooting: no parts flew off, no receivers cracked, no barrels failed. That's not to say Springfield Armory does a perfect job with these guns; several quality misses are noted in the type and you too may have to seek warranty service. But consider the price. Though much elevated since the 1990s, the SA M1A is coming in around half of what a US produced forged receiver M1A will cost. Outstanding examples of these can be found at LRM and perhaps Fulton Armory but be prepared for HIGH expense. For the money the SA M1A delivers. From the many rounds sent through six of these guns I feel they for places where the shadow of death may fall upon you.//////////////// Nutnfancy Likability Scales: 10 out of 10 SA Scout Squad, 10 out of 10 for Loaded versions, 6 out of 10 for SOCOM II version, 8 out of 10 for SOCOM 16 version, 8 out of 10 for Standard version (getting Loaded for more value), 4 out of 10 for M21 versions (too expensive, get LRB forged rifle for that price)
Commemorative shell casings are limited to 25 necklace, 25 brass only totaling 50 worldwide.

Intended for a principled LE, Military, and Civilian audience, that along with many interesting issues is addressed here. Spring boarding off of TNP long range testing and data, a definition is given for what constitutes long range: 500 yards and beyond. Some time is spent attacking a few Myths on long range shooting: that making such a shot is easy, hitting moving targets is easy, being able to make such a shot puts you on par with a military trained sniper, buying expensive equipment will make you a better shot, how long range rifles are no more dangerous than any other gun [millions of “deer rifles” to prove the point], how shooting in the same place leads to false confidence, that zeros remain the same, that precision long range shooting is cheap, that long distance ranges are easy to find, how a long distance shot in military, LE is commonplace (it isn’t) and more. The SNIPER FANTASY then begins the POU discussion and we attack this notion with facts. We concentrate on the military sniper, his support structure, the burden he carries the rest of his life to prove the point. Human life is sacred and taking it is never sought. WROL concerns addressed and are grounded to reality. A fog of war discussion grounds the concept. More realistic POUs of the long range rifle follow: competition, 2nd Kind of Cool, hunting, project rifle, and just plain recreational fun. These are the most realistic and recommended POUs for these rifles. This is another touchstone gear and preparation TNP philosophy video that will change the discussion on long range shooting.

"Why Motorcycle?!" by Nutnfancy Family
You get the whole Nutnfancy family in this video...very rare! With 10,000s of safe motorcycle riding miles under us at this point (not LastSuspect!), we discuss whether your own motorcycle riding decision. You might think we will outright advocate the motorcycling experience for everyone. Not true, in fact quite the opposite. Instead, in this free feature length video, we discuss YOU and if you are ready for this particular "dangerous thing" in your life. Both purchased and loaned bikes are integral part of doing business in TNP for fun, economy, and adventure and they could do the same for you. Any responsible person can ride motorcycles with high levels of safety. We do. This video provides you with that information for that serious choice. Another foundational TNP Philosophy Video.////////

Why the Remington 700 Kinda' Sucks by Nutnfancy

Obama to Make Internet Gun Talk Illegal
Obama to Make Internet Gun Talk Illegal
Here we go again. King Obama and his administration are going to enact an INTERNET GUN TALK BAN through Executive Order. This would make all internet technical discussions on firearms illegal and susceptible to 20 years in prison and a fine of up to $1 million. Yes this is serious and it could come into effect quickly. He wishes to silence, fracture, and disrupt the strong 2nd Amenment community online. By doing so he can and will pass universal gun registration, outright bans, and confiscation. Watch the video on how King Obama is distorting the ITAR to apply to internet speech. Violating both the 2nd and 1st Amendments outright, it falls inline with his strategy of bypassing Congress and legalities to enforce the Protectionist Agenda. Call, FAX, and write your Congressman immediately opposing this.

Do Sig 1911s Suck or What? [Full Review]
If you believe the internet, the Sig 1911s pretty much suck. After about four years of testing I'm ready to weigh in on the issue. For sure there are some reliability problems of the type and we too experienced that and show it here. From such a reputable brand as Sig this is astonishing. But it can and was fixed. What about after the fix? Well then you have a handsome Sig-looking 1911 with an awesome trigger that's reliable and accurate. That's the journey we'll take it here. All the other stuff and a few competitive options covered as well. I haven't done a 1911 review since 2011 btw!//////////////Nutnfancyt Likability Scale of Sig 1911s as they arrive out of box:; Once fixed:

"Point Break Actual Pt 1" by Nutnfancy, Precision Bolt Gun Shooting

ARSENAL SGL21/SGL31: "The AK Gold Standard Pt 1" by Nutnfancy
Hanging out with Nutnfancy at SHOT show 2015
Hank Strange and I knew Nutnfancy has been hard to find at shot show because he does not hit the booth hard like a new youtber anymore.
