I was asked about the battery packs I use for my projects so I thought I would show a selection of those I have used and where they came from, which is generally harvested from old battery powered items such as TV remote controls or from cheap items from the bargain stores. Just a quick point. If you are using non-rechargeable batteries a single AA battery gives you 1.5 volts whereas a rechargeable AA battery gives you 1.2 volts so 4 x AA rechargeable will give you about 4.8 volts whereas 4 x AA non-rechargeable will give you 6 volts. These values are approximate and do vary. Worth remembering if you are powering voltage sensitive circuits. Many pre-built circuits will have voltage regulators included which will probably fix this, but this is not guaranteed by me.
