Thailand is a newly industrialized country. Its economy is heavily export-dependent, with exports accounting for more than two-thirds of its gross domestic product (GDP). In 2012, according to the Office of the National Economic and Social Development Board, Thailand had a GDP of THB11.375 trillion (USD366 billion). The Thai economy grew by 6.5 percent, with a headline inflation rate of 3.02 percent and an account surplus of 0.7 percent of the country's GDP. In 2013, the Thai economy is expected to grow in the range of 3.8-4.3 percent. During the first half of 2013 (Q1-Q2/2013), the Thai economy grew by 4.1 percent (YoY). After seasonally adjusted, however, the Thai GDP contracted by 1.7 percent and 0.3 percent in the first and the second quarters of 2013, respectively. Given a contraction in two consecutive quarters, technically speaking, the Thai economy is now in recession. The industrial and service sectors are the main sectors in the Thai gross domestic product, with the former accounting for 39.2 percent of GDP. Thailand's agricultural sector produces 8.4 percent of the GDP – lower than the trade and logistics and communication sectors, which account for 13.4 percent and 9.8 percent of GDP respectively. The construction and mining sector adds 4.3 percent to the country’s gross domestic product. Other service sectors (including the financial, education and hotel and restaurant sectors) account for 24.9 percent of the country's GDP. Telecommunications and trade in services are emerging as centers of industrial expansion and economic competitiveness. This video is targeted to blind users. The Thai government is considering raising the amount of private investment through a series of government infrastructure projects planned for the next seven years. But outside Thailand there is greater concern that the long term prospects for the economy are not good, as exports and GDP growth continue to slip. CCTV's correspondent Tony Cheng reported this story from Bangkok.

More information http://www.eatingthaifood.com/2012/05/traditional-thai-food-the-local/ on this link. Within the hustle of modern Thai food, it can be challenging to actually find authentic and traditional Thai food. In Bangkok, street food though very delicious, is modified so it's easier to make and quicker to sell. This of course, isn't bad, and Thai street food is outstanding, but it can be nice to get back to the roots of Thai cuisine and experience a meal that accentuates the passion and the deep flavors that Thai cuisine has become so famous for. In this video the Eating Thai Food crew heads over to The Local Restaurant in Bangkok, Thailand (just off Asoke road) for an unforgettable dining experience. First off the owner and Chef Cann explains a little about local Thai culinary roots and goes over a number of the traditional dishes that he's prepared for us to sample. After that, I finally have an opportunity to taste a few of the delights that he's cooked. We began the meal off with an incredible looking appetizer mixed plate known as Ruam Kam Aroy (รวมคำอร่อย). It included a number of different tasting tidbits to eat. Next was the mixed vegetable dish known as Pad Pak Pun Baan (ผัดผักพื้นบ้าน) which was cooked so it was still crisp and not at all limp or over done. It was a great veggie dish to mix with the other curries and dishes of the meal. Another delicious item on the menu is the traditional Thai Gaeng Run Juan (แกงรัญจวนเนื้อ). This was my first time to eat it, and I thoroughly enjoyed every bite! Lastly, The Local is especially famous for their Pla Ta Pien Tom Kem (ปลาตะเพียนต้มเค็ม), which is a signature fish slow simmered in sugar cane juice and ginger. The traditional Thai food meal was fantastic and the entire experience was incredible. This video contains royalty free music by Sound Pilgrim. Subscribe to Munchies here: http://bit.ly/Subscribe-to-MUNCHIES Farang, the Thai word for foreigner, is the story of how chef Andy Ricker took a 25 year obsession and spun it into the Pok Pok restaurant empire. While impetus behind Andy opening a restaurant in the first place was a decision based wanting to be able to travel and not continue his house painting business, it became more than that. The focus of Andy's mission soon became to represent the culture and food of the people in Northern Thailand as faithfully as possible. He is constantly reinforcing the idea that he is not a chef, but merely a person who is helping to curate this cuisine in America. In the film Andy introduces us to 3 of his main inspirations Thailand for which he based some of his most successful dishes. Farang covers Andy's story from his childhood to present day, and was filmed between Chiang Mai, Portland, and New York. The filming was mostly done in May 2013 as Andy was getting ready to open up 6th restaurant, Sen Yai. One of the reasons Chiang Mai is such a popular base for expats is the food. From Thai to International and from street food to restaurants, Chiang Mai has more quality restaurants per capita than I've experienced in any other city in Thailand let alone any other country! Whether you're into fine International dining or strictly a vegetarian you'll find your fix in Chiang Mai, Thailand. The following is a travel food featuring local Thai food, Northern Thai cuisine, street food, International cuisine, Southeast Asian delights and vegetarian restaurants for all budgets from backpacker to flashpacker: 1) Many visit Buddhist temples in Chiang Mai for experiences other than food; however, for those who visit Wat Suan Dok nestled behind the temple is a great Thai vegetarian restaurant called Pun Pun (Imm Aim). We ordered vegetarian spring rolls, mixed salad, Indian roti and curry set along with a sticky coconut rice dessert - all were excellent! 2) Indulging in Northern Thai delicacies is an absolute must in Chiang Mai. The most famous of dishes, Khao Soi, is done to perfect at Peppermint cafe. With a coconut curry base, boiled and crispy noodles and select vegetables (meat or chicken is optional) its a signature dish you'll likely be having more than once. In many ways it is similar to Thai Massaman curry. On the plus side, it is one of the most inexpensive meals you can find in Northern Thailand coming in at around 30 to 60 Baht. 3) One simply cannot come to Chiang Mai and skip out on the Saturday Night market. We were just going to go for a walk but instead we ended up feasting on twist potatoes, blueberry cheesecake ice cream, pan-friend dumplings, dim sum, chocolate and banana roti, YES! We were full by the end but our wallets weren't stretched that much as Thai street food is inexpensive. 4) A proper Northern Thai meal is something called a Khantoke set meal. Always including sticky rice many different curries, pork sausage and pickled dishes are presented in wicker baskets to enjoy. 5) Not far from our Thai apartment is a wonderful night market specializing in Thai street food stalls. One of our favorites is yellow egg noodles with dumplings in a soup broth. So good, so cheap! 6) One of my favorite desserts in the world (not just in Thailand) is mango sticky rice with coconut milk drizzled over top. It's the kind of dish you'll want all to yourself as sharing means less bites for you ;) 7) When it comes to Thai street food the ubiquitous Thai banana chocolate pancake has been sustaining backpackers for decades. Popular for good reason this dish can be eaten as a snack, dessert or for breakfast. 8) Pad Thai, possibly the most over-rated Thai dish, well known around the world. It's worth trying (at a restaurant or on the street) but don't limit yourself to just having this kind of meal when in Thailand. You may be surprised to know that many Thais find it kind of bland and boring. 9) For the best vegetarian food in Chiang Mai head over to Salad Concept where you can create your own wraps and/or salads with a plethora of different fresh ingredients. It is popular with hipster Thais, so you know it is good. 10) Finally, if you're in the mood for Korean food be sure to check out Korea House for great Korean pancakes and Korean dumplings. This video is for all of our Korean fans. What are some of your favorite Thai foods? Did we cover your favorite restaurants in Chiang Mai? Where did we miss? This is part of our Travel in Thailand series. We're making a series of videos showcasing Thai culture, Thai arts, Thai foods, Thai religion and Thai people. Proudly presented by: http://nomadicsamuel.com & http://thatbackpacker.com This video features music -various artists and various songs - available under a Creative Commons Attribution-Commercial license.

Check out our exclusive member site: http://goo.gl/M0nMT5 Well for all the fans that love the North of Thailand I want to show you something! Let’s head off to see what Suphan Buri has for a RIPper wanting a little more peace and quiet than what a city like Chiang Mai offers but wants to be closer to Central Thailand. Chiang Mai with its growth and being a major tourist destination is quickly losing some of its charm. So what are some more options? What does it cost and what is it like to live in Suphan Buri? Can living only a little more than two hours from Bangkok really give us the quality of life we want? Can a category 1 RIPper (Retiree In Paradise) live well in Suphan Buri? Well I am off to find out. We will see what the upsides and downsides are to living in a smaller Thai town in the Central area of Thailand are. Here is a little intro about Suphan Buri and its history and some things that have put Suphan Buri on my radar screen as a place to retire to. So join with me as we dig in and explore what Suphan Buri has to offer!. Suphan Buri is one of the central provinces of Thailand. The word Suphan originates from the Sanskrit word Suvarna meaning gold, and the word buri from Sanskrit Purī meaning town or city. Hence the name of the province literally means City of Gold. The terrain of the province is mostly low river plains, with small mountain ranges in the north and the west of the province. The southeastern part with the very low plain of the Tha Chin River is paddy rice farming area. A long time ago Suphan Buri was called U Thong, and was the home city of Prince U Thong, the founder of the Ayutthaya kingdom. King Khun Luang Pha Ngua finally gave it the current name. Suphan Buri was an important border city, and also the location of several battles with the neighboring Burmese. There are many temples and shrines, museums and historical sites located around Suphan Buri. Please become a friend or subscribe to this channel and you if can, link back to my website I’d appreciate it. The marketing of the night scene geared to foreigners has forever changed the city, the economy, the Thai people's lives and desires. A daring and unabashed look at a popular Western predilection through the eyes of one girl. Produced By Jordan Clark 2006 © High Banks Entertainment Ltd. http://highbanks.ca/

Travel video about destination Bangkok in Thailand. Bangkok is synonymous with lively chaos but Thailand's great metropolis is also a compelling experience for the senses and a fascinating city full of contrast. We begin our sightseeing tour early in the morning about 100 kilometres southwest of the city centre at the floating market of Damnoen Saduak. Here, men and women travel on the canals by sampan amid a fertile landscape. Fruit, vegetables, flowers and all manner of goods are available and many of the boats have a kitchen in which fresh food is prepared to satisfy hearty appetites. Back in the city we visit some of its most important sights, such as the Wat Phra Kaeo, The Temple of the Emerald Buddha, and the most important place of worship for the Thai people. Bangkok's most important landmark is also its most beautiful temple complex, a wonderful work of art comprising numerous splendid buildings. Today, the Royal Grand Palace is used for national ceremonies and coronations. During the city's early years, it was originally built as a residence for King Rama. The magnificent residence of the former god king shines out in all the typical splendor and elegance of the Far East, a Siamese heaven on Earth! In the 19th century, Bangkok contained several canals known as 'Klongs' and most of them have subsequently been replaced with streets but a few have survived. Traveling on the canals is a wonderful way to take in the sights and for centuries, life on the city's waterways has changed very little. Bangkok is a typical Asian city with much exotic hustle, bustle and excitement. It is truly a city that never sleeps!

Bangkok is the capital and the most populous city of Thailand. It is known in Thai as Krung Thep Maha Nakhon. The city occupies 1,568.7 square kilometres (605.7 sq mi) in the Chao Phraya River delta in Central Thailand, and has a population of over 8 million, or 12.6 percent of the country's population. Over 14 million people (22.2 percent) live within the surrounding Bangkok Metropolitan Region, making Bangkok an extreme primate city, dwarfing Thailand's other urban centres in terms of importance.
Travel video about destination Thailand. Thailand is a land of smiles and sunshine, the gem of Asia. A fascinating land of contrast, chaotic traffic, serene temples, poverty, wealth, hustle and contemplation. The metropolis of Bangkok boasts many wonderful sights such as Wat Phra Kaeo, the Temple Of The Emerald Buddha, that is highly revered by the Thai people. The city’s most important landmark is also its most beautiful temple complex, a wonderful work of art comprising golden Chedis and numerous resplendent buildings. The River Kwai Bridge: the film of the same name made the bridge world famous. In Kanchanaburi the railway spans the wide River Kwai and this bold construction consists of steel and concrete, not wood as was depicted in the film. A bridge that symbolises the brutality of war built by thousands of prisoners of war under the command of the Japanese. Thirteen kilometres north of Bang-In is the former capital of ancient Thailand, Ayutthaya. The most famous historic site in Thailand has retained its exotic appearance. The Wat Mahathat was built in around 1380. Its main feature is a mighty banyan tree whose roots grow around a severed Buddha head. Chiang Mai is the most important city in northern Thailand and is located within a fertile river valley three hundred metres above sea level. The centre of the first independent kingdom in Thailand situated within the famous Golden Triangle. The Hmong are the largest of the northern mountain tribes. They originated in Laos and Southern China and it is believed that this tribe, divided into clans, once had its own kingdom. Thailand is a mysterious land full of contrast, natural beauty and superlative exotica!
Thailand Travel Guide, Thailand Tourism, Thailand Vacation Travel Videos HD, World Travel Guide http://www.youtube.com/subscription_center?add_user=World1Tube The jewel of the Southeast Asian travel circuit, Thailand offers astonishing diversity and a truly fascinating and accessible culture that, along with the revered Thai hospitality, makes it an incredibly popular destination. With an enticing mixture of established destinations such as Phuket and Hua Hin, and out-of-the-way palm-fringed islands, Thailand has a very exotic appeal. It caters for grungy backpacking types wanting to party into the wee hours through to those who prefer white tablecloth dining and clinking wine glasses. From staying on a converted rice barge, clambering into a jungle tree house or bedding down in a hill tribe village, the country offers a wealth of choice for all tastes and budgets. For divers, snorkelers, and those who just like swanning around on white-powder sand there are postcard-perfect beaches, and the extraordinary metropolis of Bangkok in the south, while the north offers the sublime delights of culture-packed Chiang Mai with its temple-studded old town, and cooling forests and mountain retreats. One of the best ways to access Thai culture is through a 'Monk chat' session in a local wat (temple) in Chiang Mai, where you get the opportunity to quiz the dignified saffron-robed monks about anything you like. And in the early morning, all over the country, the monks leave the sanctuary of their wats to receive alms from the people, be it in a dusty village or on crowded city streets. Buddhism is a way of life here and the Thais are also strong supporters of their monarchy. And don't forget the food! A culinary adventure awaits with tempting morsels on virtually every street corner, from traditional Royal-project run restaurants to delicious piping hot street food. Eating is as much a part of the culture here as anything else and definitely the key to local hearts. If you're lucky enough to catch a local festival, it will probably be dominated by food. The most welcoming of countries, despite being inundated with tourists and expats, it's the gentle hospitality of local people that is the strongest memory of Thailand for many visitors. And what a wonderful memory it makes. Things to see and do ======================= Northern Insight Meditation Centre Thailand is a serene and thought-provoking place to do some meditation. This centre offers an intensive month-long course and there are strict rules to be observed. The beautiful leafy setting in Chiang Mai is ideal, but there are similar places all over the country; make enquiries at local temples. Chiang Dao Thailand's highest limestone mountain can be found here amidst a jungle oasis with an excellent selection of local accommodation. A mystical warren of caves extending some 14km (8.7 miles) can be explored, and riding a bicycle is a relaxing way to explore the area around Chiang Dao. Chiang Mai - Old City The temple-studded old city of Chiang Mai with its leafy residential sois, towering city gates and crumbling walls is a highlight of the north. Exploration is best by bicycle with traffic surprisingly subdued in the city walls and there are plenty of places to stop for refreshment when escaping the heat of the day. Doi Inthanon Escape to the cooling heights of Thailand's highest peak, where jungle walks, bird watching and simply shaking the heat of the simmering plains from your back awaits. There are good roads in the park making it easy to get around and waterfalls to splash about in. Elephant Nature Park Visiting an elephant sanctuary can be a wonderful experience especially if you stick to those, like this nature park, which genuinely care for the animals instead of just making them do ridiculous antics. Visitors can help wash and care for the elephants here and no riding is allowed. JEATH War Museum The moving JEATH War Museum (JEATH representing the first letter of Japan, England, America, Australia, Thailand and Holland, the countries who lost soldiers in the region) is located in the provincial capital, Kanchanaburi and features photographs and various other memorabilia from World War II. Wat Phra That Doi Suthep One of northern Thailand's most sacred temples, Wat Suthep is perched high in the mountains overlooking the steamy metropolis of Chiang Mai below. As well as offering astounding views the temple, established in the 14th century, has a wonderful collection on Lanna Art and architecture. Bangkok's Siam Ocean World Dive with the sharks in the aquarium at Bangkok's Siam Ocean World (www.siamoceanworld.co.th), and live to tell the tale. There's a daily feeding of sharks and penguins and the deep reef zone is a fascinating glimpse into a magical underwater world.

During our time backpacking and traveling around Asia we spent more time in Thailand than any other country in SE Asia and for good reason. Unlike most tourists who visit Thailand, we decided to skip most of the beaches located in the southern regions of the country and instead focus most of our time in Northern Thailand. Chiang Mai, our home away from home, became our base for several months and by the time we left we promised ourselves we'd return again in the near future. What makes Chiang Mai such a great base for foreigners? Firstly, it's cheap. You can find high quality serviced apartments for under $500 (some are less than $300) that offer modern amenities and are in located in close proximity to the old square of the city. Secondly, the food – both Thai and International – offers as much diverse selection as any city I've ever visited. If you want to gormandize on authentic Thai delights you'll have no shortage of options ranging from Thai street food to high class Thai restaurants. For the culture vulture, no shortage of opportunities exist to explore temples such as Doi Suthep, markets such as the Saturday night market or interact with animals such as at the Elephant Nature Park. When you get tired of Chiang Mai, the sleepy hillside town of Pai awaits where the pace is slower and you feel more like you're out in the countryside. Whether you love it or hate it, most journeys in Thailand begin and end in Bangkok. This steamy chaotic city offers some incredible temples to explore (such as Wat Arun and the Temple of the Mount) along with great shopping and nightlife. When deciding on a base in Southeast Asia we carefully thought about where to go. Soon it became a no brainer that Chiang Mai would be the perfect fit. Considering how affordable it is to live there in tandem with the amazing dining options certainly won us offer. Moreover, the Chiang Mai offers numerous top attractions and things to do. In our latest travel guide we attempt to highlight as many of our favorite attractions in Chiang Mai as possible: 1) Chiang Mai is famous for its night markets. We suggest starting off at the Sunday Night Market which is best explored from Thapea Gate. From handicrafts to silverware and from souvenirs to silks, you'll shop until you drop. In my opinion, an even better thing to do at the market is to indulge in as much Thai street food as possible. 2) Elephant tourism runs rampant in and around Chiang Mai. Unfortunately, the well being of the elephants is rarely a consideration. Visiting the Elephant Nature Park, known as an elephant sanctuary and rehabilitation center, is somewhere you can go to interact with elephants knowing full well they are being taken care of and not exploited. A trip to the park is a memorable experience that is both incredibly fun and extremely education. 3) From the roof of our apartment building we had often had unobstructed views of Doi Suthep. It was only a matter of time before we decide to take a Songthaew up to explore it on foot. Although it is very touristy, it is still well worth a visit - especially for the views of Chiang Mai! 4) Few cuisines are more famous around the world than Thai food. While you're in Chiang Mai be sure to take a cooking class to learn how to make all of your favorite Thai dishes. An even better idea is to go to the countryside where you can have a more authentic and rural cooking experience. 5) Although I love the Sunday Night Market my favorite night market in Chiang Mai happens on Saturday. Possibly because it is only a stone throw away from where we lived in Chiang Mai, I just enjoyed wandering through the maze of people and shops to eat as much Thai street food as possible. 6) You can't visit Chiang Mai without trying its most famous Northern Thai dish - Khao Soi. Crispy and soft noodles float around in a coconut milk base with various vegetables. It's delicious and one of the cheapest meal options in the city! 7) When you have time - and a friend to go with - reserve a table at a restaurant that specializes in Khantoke sets. Served with sticky rice and a plethora of small dishes you'll get a real sense of what Northern Thai food is all about. 8) Wander around the neighborhoods outside of the city center. A big part of why Chiang Mai is so charming has to do with its various neighborhoods. Get off the beaten path and just go explore around. Here we show you our neighborhood, which is not far from Chiang Mai South Gate. The city occupies 1,568.7 square kilometres (605.7 sq mi) in the Chao Phraya River delta in Central Thailand, and has a population of over eight million, or 12.6 percent of the country's population. Over fourteen million people (22.2 percent) live within the surrounding Bangkok Metropolitan Region, making Bangkok an extreme primate city, dwarfing Thailand's other urban centres in terms of importance. The most important places to visit in Bangkok are: Wat Arun (Bangkok has one of the greatest collections of temples in the world. This Buddhist temple, also known as "Temple of the Dawn" is quite spectacular), Lumpini Park (Bangkok is a massive city; Lumpini Park offers an excellent escape from the city's hustle and bustle. You can just relax or engage in an activity), Wat Pho (it is said to be the largest and oldest Buddhist temple in Bangkok. An extremely large statue of a reclining Buddha is a big draw), Floating Market (truly a unique experience where many vendors prepare food right on their tiny boats. You will find a festive atmosphere along with delicious food), Wat Traimit (another famous temple in Bangkok, it is located close to China Town and is known as also known as the "The Temple of the Golden Buddha"), Vimanmek Palace (this magnificent former royal palace is the world's largest golden teak wood mansion), Chinatown (a colorful area with many interesting shop and of course fantastic Chinese food), Ayutthaya (located outside of Bangkok, this ancient city was founded over 600 years ago. Amidst the remaining temple structures, you can relive its history), Chatuchak (believed to be the largest market in Thailand, the exciting market has literally thousands of stalls and tens of thousands of daily visitors), Grand Palace (constructed in the 18th century, undoubtedly it is the most popular attraction of Bangkok and a must see for anyone visiting this city) and many more. If you want to save time and money, the most important Bangkok travel tip is to compare prices before booking a hotel room or a flight. You can do this for free on http://bookinghunter.com, a site that searches through hundreds of other travel websites in real time for the best travel deals available.
http://www.expedia.com/Bangkok.d178236.Destination-Travel-Guides When you tour Bangkok, you’re immersing yourself in a city of contrasts. From its homage to ancient cultures to the ultra-modern skyscrapers that line the downtown area, you’ll soon discover why this lively metropolis wins so many “World’s Best City” awards from various publications. Some claim, it’s the perfect mixture of food, friendly citizens, shopping, and things to do. Step into Krung Thep, or The City of Angels, and let your adventure begin. You might be confused when you first arrive; where, exactly, are these angels? But a close look at the smiling people will soon make it obvious. You can see more of this care and attention to detail in the many temples that dot the city’s landscape, as well as their daily lives. Thai arts and crafts are indicative of this…especially their culinary art. If you’re visiting Bangkok for the food, you’re in good company. Did you know there are 50,000+ places to eat in Bangkok alone? Whether you’re here for five-star dining or a funky little café, you’ll find all kinds of gastronomical delights when you arrive. But here’s a secret: head down to the streets instead of the restaurants. The street food is a bargain, and praised by locals and visitors alike. If you’re not eating or relaxing, you’re probably shopping. Sightseeing in Bangkok always includes some sort of purchasing spree, whether it’s clothing, crafts, artwork, or that perfect piece of furniture for your living room. Don’t think you have to head to bed just because the sun has gone down. The nightlife here is hopping with clubs, glowing lights, and river cruises. What will you do in Bangkok? Thailand is a famous tourist destination due to its colorful landscape and nice people. The former Siam’s happy world awaits the tourists: colorful temples, monsateries, giant Buddha statues. Bangkok itself, a giant metropolis, is worth a travel, but there is a lot more the country has to offer: the forests of the Northern hills, the tribes living in the Golden Triangle, the elephant farms, the rice fields, the famous bridge on the river Kwai, the world of canals, romantic fishing villages, the monumental national park of Phang Nga, tropical islands, and the beaches shaded by palm trees bathing in the eternal sunshine.

Bangkok ~ Thailand ~ Discover Bangkok ~ Travel Guide Bangkok is the capital of Thailand and, with a population of over eleven million inhabitants, by far its largest city. Its high-rise buildings, heavy traffic congestion, intense heat and naughty nightlife may not immediately give you the best impression — but don't let that mislead you. It is one of Asia's most cosmopolitan cities with magnificent temples and palaces, authentic canals, busy markets and a vibrant nightlife that has something for everyone. For years, it was only a small trading post at the banks of the Chao Phraya River, until King Rama I, the first monarch of the present Chakri dynasty, turned it into the capital of Siam in 1782, after the burning of Ayutthaya by Burmese invaders but they did not take over Ayutthaya. Since then, Bangkok has turned into a national treasure house and functions as Thailand's spiritual, cultural, political, commercial, educational and diplomatic centre.

Every fruit that ripens has exactly just 3 parts
It has the seeds, the juice, the flesh push down these
narrow streets and carts
But you know that every other mango is filled with the
tiny bits of snow
That make up every pretty lady that you know
And if they put the milk in here unbearably thin
And if they take it out well then you'll sup with the
fishermen
You've got 3 pairs of the black and an assortment of
the rest
But that wont put hair upon your chest
Think a little smaller and these beaches never end
The sun is always setting just a little further west
Follow it along and the story will be told
How the girl who chased the light never got old
Because how can time be passing if you never see the
moon
Some people fool themselves within the pearls of the
lagoon
But you can't trade jewels for light or kaleidoscopes
for sights
Sometimes closed eyes make the picturesque more bright
I wish the cameras of the world would fade to a purple
puff of smoke
A vacation without a photograph is just an egg without
a yoke
But the beans grow overnight through the ever present
light
And the bean can match an egg yoke bite for bite
So think a little longer about the crop you chose to
grow
Remember all the mangos with their tiny bits of snow
And that lady will be waiting to walk with you hand in
hand
