The film was shot in 1904 as a 'travelogue' for Australians curious about life in what was "one of the most exciting cities anywhere."
http://jamesdjulia.com/item/2255-373/ The Model 1904 was basically the first working automatic pistol made by Webley (there was a 1903 toolroom experiment, but it didn't really work). Like all the Webley automatic that would follow, it was designed by William Whiting. The 1904 was the company's first effort at making a semiautomatic sidearm for the British military, so it was chambered for the .455 cartridge (a special rimless version made by Kynoch, after early experiments using the .455 rimmed revolver ammunition caused lots of problems stacking in magazines). It is a rather huge handgun, and uses a short recoil mechanism with two separate locking blocks. This particular one is s/n 23 - very few were made before it was rejected in military trials and Webley redirected its efforts toward smaller commercial pistols. http://www.forgottenweapons.com Theme music by Dylan Benson - http://dbproductioncompany.webs.com

A Day in the Hayfields (1904) | BFI . Subscribe: http://bit.ly/subscribetotheBFI Very often when people think of England, they conjure up images of an idealised rural landscape on a hot summer's day; in 'A Day in the Hayfields', Cecil Hepworth gives us just that. We see the men and horses reaping and stacking as the village babies play in the piles of hay, throwing themselves into the soft grass with unalloyed abandon. The film is a classic example of the 'interest film' - in one of its manifestations, the interest film would document agricultural or industrial process from beginning to end - here we see the haymaking from reaping to the finished rick, filmed with an eye for the picturesque. Although made before the book was even written, the film will strike a chord with anyone who has read Flora Thompson's 'Lark Rise to Candleford' - this is the genuine article. Digitally remastered version of a recording from the 1st of February 1904 (room 826, Carnegie Hall, NY). You may want to look at my non-profit website for more Caruso info: http://www.enricocaruso.dk (English). I have uploaded all of Caruso's recordings (in different versions/restorations) to that website. Una furtiva lagrima (A furtive tear) is the romanza from Act II, Scene 2 of the Italian opera, L'elisir d'amore (The Elixir of Love) by Gaetano Donizetti. It is sung by Nemorino (Caruso) when he finds that the love potion he bought to win his dream lady's heart, Adina, works. Nemorino is in love with Adina, but she isn't interested in a relationship with an innocent, rustic man. To win her heart, Nemorino buys a "love potion" with all the money he has in his pocket. The "love potion" is actually a cheap red wine sold by a con business traveler. But when he sees Adina weeping, he knows that she has fallen in love with him and the "Elixir" works. Caruso created the role of Nemorino the first time in February 1901 at La Scala in Milan. The conductor was the famous Toscanini, but the notoriously critical and reserved audience of La Scala did not react at all ... until Caruso started singing - and he basically turned the performance from failure to success. The audience went wild and Caruso was compelled to repeat "Una furtiva lagrima" three times. When Toscanini came back stage to go before the curtain with the artists, he embraced Caruso, then turned to the manager of La Scala, Giulio Gatti-Casazza, and said: "Per dio! Se questo Napoletano continua a cantare così, farà parlare di sè il mondo intero." (By Heaven! If this Neapolitan continues to sing like this, he will make the whole world talk about him.) And a few years later the whole world talked about him. - and still haven't forgotten his "velvet" voice and intense empathy. Text Italian: Una furtiva lagrima Negli occhi suoi spunto: Quelle festose giovani Invidiar sembro. Che piu cercando io vo? Che piu cercando io vo? M'ama! Sì, m'ama, lo vedo, lo vedo. Un solo instante i palpiti Del suo bel cor sentir! I miei sospir, confondere Per poco a' suoi sospir! I palpiti, i palpiti sentir, Confondere i miei coi suoi sospir Cielo, si puo morir! Di piu non chiedo, non chiedo. Ah! Cielo, si puo, si puo morir, Di piu non chiedo, non chiedo. Si puo morir, si puo morir d'amor. English translation: A single furtive tear from her eyes sprang: Those joyful boys seem to envy me. What more need I look for? What more need I look for? She loves me! Yes, she loves me, I see it. I see it. Just for an instant the beating of her beautiful heart I heard! And my sighs became as one fleetingly with her sighs! Her heart beating, her heart beating to hear, our sighs confounded as one... Heavens! Yes I could, I could die! More I can't ask, I can't ask. Oh, heavens! Yes I could! Yes I could die! More I can't ask, I can't ask. Yes I could die! If I could die of love.

Benjamin Francis Leftwich (born 4 September 1989) is an English singer-songwriter from York.
Leftwich began playing at the age of ten and grew up listening to The Rolling Stones and Nina Simone; later discovering Nick Drake, Bob Dylan, and Elliott Smith. He cites Arcade Fire, Ryan Adams, and Bruce Springsteen as inspirations.
Leftwich was educated at Bootham School, an independent boarding school in the city of York, the county town of Yorkshire in the North of England.
Leftwich's debut album, the Ian Grimble-produced Last Smoke Before The Snowstorm, was released in July 2011. The Fly called it "a majestic debut" " "whilst The Sunday Times cited Leftwich as "a serious new talent".[citation needed]The Skinny described it as "occasionally a bit O.C. soundtrack...[but] enjoyable throughout", while the Sunday Express called it "lovely" but "increasingly repetitive over the course of 10 tracks". Hazel Sheffield, writing in The Guardian, gave it a 3/5 rating, as did David Pollock, writing for The Scotsman, who drew comparisons to Damien Rice and José González, but also stated "sadly there are also heavy hints of Chris Martin at his most mawkish".
Well some may say it's not even funny
And there you stand not even trying
They say it is in line with the angel
Sometimes noise is just your mind
But the lesson is vague in the light now
Shows a dear with her mind on the moor
And I'll something with the sun is just a friend
Since they shook the earth in 1904
And as I lowered down I hear it's a message
And it's 1902 just telling people to get out
And if there was just a way I could tell them
It's been long but you are right
And the singing is slow and so quiet
Like the sound when you sleep off the floor
And I'll something with the dirt is just a friend
Since they shook the earth in 1904
And when the night is young with the bridge is sung
Something passing by I was sure
And the only one you can tell it to
Well it's the only one that ever knows
And since more robbers made to go through my window
Here is something so strange and something louder than before
And you living with no light or direction
But temper size and now you know
When believing is hard but you go now
And you feel what you drag across the floor
Because something with these drills are just a friend
Since they shook the earth in 1904
And when the night is young but the bridge is sung
Something passing by I was sure
And the only one you will tell it to
Well it's the only one who will ever know
And some will say it's not even healthy
But body is young and mind is sure
That something is alright well you're thinking
