Lifehouse is an American rock band from Los Angeles. The band came to mainstream prominence in 2001 with the hit single "Hanging by a Moment" from their debut studio album, No Name Face. The single won a Billboard Music Award for Hot 100 Single of the Year, beating out Janet Jackson and Alicia Keys for the #1 Single of 2001. In 2002, they released their follow up album Stanley Climbfall. They have released three more albums: the self-titled Lifehouse in 2005, Who We Are on June 19, 2007 and Smoke & Mirrors on March 2, 2010. These albums have spawned the singles "You and Me", "First Time", and "Whatever It Takes", which have all been top 40 hits in the US. The group includes Jason Wade (lead vocals, rhythm guitar), Rick Woolstenhulme, Jr. (drums, percussion), Bryce Soderberg (bass guitar, back-up vocals) and Ben Carey (lead guitar). They have sold upwards of fifteen million singles and albums worldwide to date.
In 2000, Lifehouse entered the recording studio to record their first major label release. Five of the twelve tracks from previous demo Diff's Lucky Day were remixed and released on No Name Face. Because of frontman Jason Wade's charisma and talent, DreamWorks Records focused their sights solely on him, and by the time the debut album was released on October 31, 2000, Wade and Andrade were the only remaining founding members. Shortly after recording the first album, Rick Woolstenhulme, Jr. replaced Jon Palmer on drums.
Katheryn Elizabeth Hudson (born October 25, 1984), known by her stage name Katy Perry, is an American singer, songwriter and actress. Perry grew up with gospel music, and during her first year of high school she pursued a music career as Katy Hudson, releasing her first studio album called Katy Hudson which failed to chart. She recorded a solo album later, which was never released. After signing with Capitol Music Group in 2007, her fourth record label in seven years, she adopted the stage name Katy Perry.
She first gained recognition with the release of her first mainstream album, One of the Boys in 2008, which spawned three Billboard Hot 100 top-ten songs—"I Kissed A Girl", "Hot n Cold" and "Waking Up In Vegas". Perry supported the album with her Hello Katy Tour. In 2010, her third studio album, Teenage Dream (2010), which topped the Billboard 200 chart, and spawned five number one singles—"California Gurls", "Teenage Dream", "Firework", "E.T." and "Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F.)"—Teenage Dream was the only album (after Michael Jackson's Bad)—to do so, and the first female in history to achieve this milestone. She embarked on the California Dreams Tour, which grossed nearly $60 million worldwide. Perry re-released the album under the name of Teenage Dream: The Complete Confection on March 26, 2012, and the re-release has already spawned the number-one single "Part of Me".
Mike Kim (born December 11, 1976) is an author, consultant, inspirational speaker, NGO founder, and North Korea specialist based in Washington DC. He is a Korean-American who, in 2003, moved to the China-North Korea border and founded Crossing Borders, a nonprofit dedicated to providing humanitarian assistance to North Korean refugees. He is the author of the Wall Street Journal featured book Escaping North Korea: Defiance and Hope in the World’s Most Repressive Country, a current events memoir published in 2008 by Rowman & Littlefield, about his experiences at the China-North Korea border helping North Koreans. Kim is represented by the Hollywood agency William Morris Endeavor and they are developing a movie based on his book and his life at the China-North Korea border. The book has been translated into Turkish and the Polish translation will be released in 2012. He is an expert on human trafficking and illicit networks and is a consultant on a number of related projects.
On New Year's Day 2003, Kim gave up his financial planning business in Chicago, Illinois and left for China on a one-way ticket carrying little more than two duffle bags. While living near the North Korean border, he operated undercover as a student of North Korean taekwondo, training under two North Korean masters —eventually receiving a second-degree blackbelt. He founded Crossing Borders, a nonprofit dedicated to providing humanitarian assistance to North Korean refugees. In his book, he estimated that during his time on the field over 60% of female defectors were victims of sex trafficking. The organization has been a regular contributor to the State Department's Annual Trafficking in Persons Report and has testified at a congressional hearing on the topic of combating human trafficking in China.
Kamaljit Singh Jhooti, better known by his stage name Jay Sean, is a British singer-songwriter, rapper, beatboxer and record producer. He debuted in the UK's Asian Underground scene as a member of the Rishi Rich Project with "Dance with You", which reached #12 on the UK Singles Chart in 2003. This led to him being signed to Virgin Records and having two UK top 10 hits as a solo artist in 2004: "Eyes On You" at #6 and "Stolen" at #4. They were included in his critically acclaimed debut album Me Against Myself which, though only moderately successful in the UK, sold more than two million copies across Asia and remains his most successful album to date. Alongside the Rishi Rich Project, Sean was a pioneer of Bhangra-R&B fusion, which his debut album helped popularize among the worldwide South Asian diaspora.
He eventually left Virgin in 2006 and founded his own independent label, Jayded Records. After a gap of nearly four years, he returned in 2008 with "Ride It", which reached #11 in the UK and topped the charts in several Eastern European countries, including Romania where it was one of the best-selling singles of the year. It was followed by hits such as "Maybe", which reached #7 on the Japan Hot 100, and "Tonight". They were included in his second album, My Own Way, which became his most successful album on the UK Albums Chart, reaching #6, and topped the UK R&B Chart. At around this time, he began increasingly incorporating electropop sounds into his R&B music.

He attended the Wolmers High School for Boys, Belair School, Hillel Academy High School, and the College of Arts, Science, and Technology, now known as the University of Technology, where he was trained in commerce with a view to pursuing an occupation in hotel management.
How did I end up here?
Closer to nowhere and in the middle of nothing
And I am one step back from where I was
Spinning in circles gets old after a while
You say if I fall I will fall straight into your arms
Should I trip over my feet
And if I start to slip I will slip right onto my knees
Into the center of your hands
Cause maybe someday
I can learn to trust you
Just stop thinking with my head
Cause maybe someday
I can learn to let go
I lose control and that's okay with me
I lose control and tell me what is wrong with that?
Why do I have to know everything?
And why does everything always have to make sense?
Why do I always have to have you figured out?
Cause I just wanna take your hand
You say if I fall I will fall straight into your arms
Should I trip over my feet
And if I start to slip I will slip right onto my knees
Into the center of your hands
Cause maybe someday
I can learn to trust you
Just stop thinking with my head
Cause maybe someday
I can learn to let go
I lose control and that's okay with me
I lose control and tell me what is wrong with that?
What's wrong with that?
What's wrong with that?
What's wrong with that?
What's wrong with that?
What's wrong with that?
Maybe someday
I can learn to trust you
Just stop thinking with my head
Cause maybe someday
I can learn to let go
I lose control and that's okay with me
I lose control and tell me what is wrong with that?
What's wrong with that?
What's wrong with that?
Could you let down your hair be transparent for a while
Just a little while
To see if your human after all
Honesty is a hard attribute to find
When we all want to seem like
We've got it all figured out
Well let me be the first to say that I don't have a clue
I don't have all the answers
Ain't gonna pretend like I do
Just trying
To find my way
Trying
To find my way the best that I know how
Well I haven't memorized all of the cute things to say
But I'm working on it
Maybe I'll master this art form someday
If I quote all the lines off the top of my head
Would you believe
That I fully understand all these things I've read
I'm just trying
To find my way
Trying
To find my way
Trying
To find my way the best that I know how
Well I haven't got it all figured out quite yet but
Even if it takes my whole life
To get to where I need to be
That's alright with me now
If it's ok with you
I'm just trying
To find my way
Trying
To find my way
I'm trying
To find my way
Trying
Flowers are blowing in the wind
and I can see the sun
setting on the hill it's almost gone
and the hills are greener than I've ever seen
and this feels too real to be just another dream
now don't let me leave this moment
hold me in this where everything is clearer
than of all before and everything makes sense
and you say
stand on the edge and don't be afraid to fall
take a breath and tell me what you see
and you say stand on the edge and don't be afraid to fall
take a breath and tell me what you see
as we sat down by the water
in my mind I felt
a gentle breeze blow softly against my face
and we talked for hours
it didn't seem to matter what about
as long as I was there with you
you showed me what it is to believe
in something greater than I can understand
yeah you showed me what it is to believe
and you say
stand on the edge and don't be afraid to fall
take a breath and tell me what you see
and you say stand on the edge and don't be afraid to fall
take a breath and tell me what you see
and you say
stand on the edge and don't be afraid to fall
take a breath and tell me what you see
and you say stand on the edge and tomorrow don't close your eyes
take a look around you and tell me what you see
How long have I been in this storm
So overwhelmed by the oceans shapeless form
Water's getting harder to tred
With these waves crashing over my head
If I could just see you
Everything would be alright
If I had to see you
This darkness would turn to light
And I would walk on water
And you will catch me if I fall
And I will get lost into your eyes
And everything will be alright
Everything will be alright
Know you didn't bring me out here to drown
So why am I ten feet under and upside down
Barely surviving has become my purpose
Cause I'm so used to living underneath the surface
If I could just see you
Everything would be alright
If I had to see you
This darkness would turn to light
And I would walk on water
And you will catch me if I fall
And I will get lost into your eyes
And everything will be alright
And I will walk on water
You will catch me if I fall
And I will get lost into your eyes
And everything will be alright
Now everthing is alright
When passion takes on a purpose
And searching ones embrace the light
When skeptics find themselves down on their knees
You'll know it's here
When you hear a sound as loud as thunder
And you hear a cry that shakes the ground beneath you
When you hear a shout that shatters the darkness
You'll know it's here
When the lost find a name we're believing in
And the fallen get back onto their feet
And the broken start to dream again
And the sound of hope fills these streets
You'll know it's here
Revolution
Can you feel it
Revolution cry
Revolution
Can you hear it
Revolution cry
And I believe it
And I believe it
How long do we have to wait
And how long will we stay silent
When will this weeping generation dance again
Oh God when will
The truth be restored
When the lost find a name we're believing in
And the fallen get back onto their feet
And the broken start to dream again
And the sound of hope fills these streets
Nothing but a mudpie wrapped up inside with a pretty bow
Nothing but a castle built on top of stone but quicksand
And inside these cardboard walls and saran wrap windows
Lies a rusty pot of fools gold that you got for your life
Are you tired of being wrapped up on loyalty
And you taught yourself to act like royalty
Until the day you became prey
As you tripped over your incumbent
You wash your hair in the Luca oil
Then you wrap your head with tin foil
Prance around in your bathroom
Pretending you're a king
Just spin me home
Sinking faster now
Well you can follow your rainbows and i'll follow the sun now
Wherever he goes it's not too far to run
So i will follow the sun
Follow the sun
Nothing but a calender hanging on your wall
That's 23 years old
Nothing but a for sale sign
On a house that's already sold
Trying to chew through that chocolate covered barbed wire
Because they are among the beautiful filth
Waiting for you on the other side
Just spin me home
Sinking faster now
(repeat chorus)
Clever lives end up rusty and forgotten
Brilliant minds end up with alzheimers
What i thought was so deep
Ended up so hollow
And what i thought had meaning
Seems my own arrogance
Has knocked me off my feet again
When you know I'm crawling
To you as fast as I can
First teach me to walk
And then I'll learn to dance for you
Like an honest clumsy clown
Tripping a long the way
Cause I am reaching for you
But my arms aren't long enough
And I am running to you
If I could go a little faster
And I am crying to you
But I can't hear my own voice
And I am waiting for you
And trying not to fall asleep now
Cause I am clumsily dancing away this fear
I am stumbling closer to you and I am
Tumbling over my pride
I will be a fool for you
What are you thinking as you look down on me
Are you frustrated with my inconsistency
Or intrigued that I can find the will to get back up or
Maybe all of this is simply amusing
Cause I am reaching for you
But my arms aren't long enough
And I am running to you
If I could go a little faster
And I am crying to you
But I can't hear my own voice
And I am waiting for you
And trying not to fall asleep now
And I am clumsily dancing away this fear
I am stumbling closer to you and I am
Tumbling over my pride
I will be a fool
And I am clumsily dancing away this fear
I am stumbling closer to you and I am
Tumbling over my pride
I will be a fool for you
And I am clumsily dancing away this fear
I am stumbling closer to you and I'm
Tumbling over my pride
Since my own arrogance
Has knocked me off my feet again
When you know I'm crawling
To you as fast as I can
First teach me to walk
And then I'll learn to dance for you
Like on this clumbsy ground
Tripping a long the way
Cause I'm reaching for you
But my arms aren't long enough
And I'm running to you
If I could go a little faster
And I am crying to you
But I can't hear my own voice
And I am waiting for you
And trying not to fall asleep now
Cause I'm clumbsily dancing away this fear
I am stumbling closer to you and I'm
Tumbling over my pride
I will be a fool for you
What are you thinking as you look down on me
Are you frustrated with my inconsistency
Or intrigued that I can find the will to get back up or
Maybe all this is simply amusing
Cause I am reaching for you
But my arms aren't long enough
And I am running to you
If I could go a little faster
And I am crying to you
But I can't hear my own voice
And I am waiting for you
And trying not to fall asleep now
Cause I am clumbsily dancing away this fear
I'm stumbling closer to you and I am
Tumbling over my pride
I will be a fool
And I'm clumbsily dancing away this fear
I'm stumbling closer to you and I'm
Tumbling over my pride
I will be a fool for you
And I'm clumbsily dancing away this fear
I'm stumbling closer to you and I'm
Tumbling over my pride
He sighs and looks in the mirror
He can't tell anymore Who he really is and who they believe him to be
And he sighs and walks in a thin line
Between what is and what could be
He's getting closer To something he can't understand
Cause there's a crack in his plastic crown
And his throne of ice is melting
He climbed his ladder
And there was nothing there
And now it's a long way down
Cause on and on and on he goes
Dancing on the grave
Of what he thought was still alive
On and on and on he goes
Dancing in mansions made of twigs And castles made of sand
He sighs his head is filled with
Cartoons and fairy tales
And he's trapped inside a dungeon of dolls With smiles on their faces
He's built a pretty cage
Hit shows on a beautiful stage
With candy coated prison bars And chains that look like jewelry
Cause there's a crack in his plastic crown
And his throne of ice is melting
He climbed his ladder
And there was nothing there
And now it's a long way down
Cause on and on and on he goes
Dancing on the grave
Of what he thought was still alive
On and on and on he goes
Dancing in mansions made of twigs And castles made of sand
Cause he lives inside Of fairy tails and castle lands
And there's room inside For false expectations and illusions
Cause there's a crack in his plastic crown
And his throne of ice is melting
He climbed his ladder And there was nothing there
And now it's a long way down
Cause on and on and on he goes
Dancing on the grave
Of what he thought was still alive
On and on and on he goes
Forget about the fight to wear the crown of scars
Cause you've already won
Forget the pain and the tears behind you
Bury underneath your feet the remains
Of what's been left behind
Cause you've got a long, a long way to run
But now you dance the rest of the way
And you don't look back
Can you hear the angel singing
As you rise
Now you can fly away
And you don't look down now
And you laugh until you can't laugh any longer
As you watch your chains fall to the ground
Will you fall against the wall that you have built with your own hands
When you trip upon the thorns that you have tied your legs together with
When you walk upon the ice that you know you should not be walking
Why do you wonder why you fell through
Now you fly away
And you don't look down now
And you laugh until you can't laugh any longer
As you watch your chanins fall to the ground
And now you laugh
And your tears
Smile down at your fears
From where you are
From way up here
You know nothing's ever looked so good
Nothing ever looked so good
But now you dance the rest of the way
You don't look back
Can you hear the angel singing
As you rise
Now you fly away
And you don't look down now
And you laugh until you can't laugh any longer
As you watch your chains fall to the ground
Now you fly away
And you don't look down now
And you laugh until you can't laugh any longer
Too many voices, it won't take long
Which one's right and which one's wrong
And your's is most likely
To be misunderstood
Screaming in tongues
On the top of my lungs
'Til I find you
'Til you found me
Somehow I always knew that you would
And I am contemplating matters
Of this cling and clatter
In my head, and what you said is ringing
Ringing faster
And it's all good
If you would
Stop the world from making sense
And if I could just realize
It doesn't really matter
It doesn't really matter
It doesn't really matter
If I could touch the sound of silence now
You know I would if I knew how
To make these intentions
Come around
I'm hearing without listening
And believing every word
That you're not saying
Speaking without a sound
And I am contemplating matters
Of this cling and clatter
In my head, and what you said is ringing
Ringing faster
And it's all good
If you would
Stop the world from making sense
And if I could
Just realize
It doesn't really matter
It doesn't really matter
It doesn't really matter
Trapped inside of these four walls
Walking brainless muppet dolls
Mushroom face
Beneath the tangles
Bleeding silhouette inside
Dancing like an angel would
And it's all good
If you would
Stop the world from making sense
And if I could
Just realize
It doesn't really matter
It doesn't really matter
It doesn't really matter
And it's all good
If you would
Stop the world from making sense
And if I could

It doesn't really matter
It doesn't really matter
