An allele (UK /ˈæliːl/ or US /əˈliːl/), or allel, is one of a number of alternative forms of the same gene or same genetic locus. Sometimes, different alleles can result in different observable phenotypic traits, such as different pigmentation. However, most genetic variations result in little or no observable variation.
Most multicellular organisms have two sets of chromosomes; that is, they are diploid. These chromosomes are referred to as homologous chromosomes. Diploid organisms have one copy of each gene (and, therefore, one allele) on each chromosome. If both alleles are the same, they and the organism are homozygous with respect to that gene. If the alleles are different, they and the organism are heterozygous with respect to that gene.
The word "allele" is a short form of allelomorph ("other form", a word coined by William Bateson), which was used in the early days of genetics to describe variant forms of a gene detected as different phenotypes. It derives from the Greek prefix ἀλλήλ, allel, meaning "reciprocal" or "each other", which itself is related to the Greek adjective ἄλλος (allos; cognate with Latin "alius"), meaning "other".
Tightrope is an American crime drama series that aired on CBS from September 1959 to September 1960, under the alternate sponsorship of the J.B. Williams Company (Aqua Velva, Lectric Shave, etc.), and American Tobacco (Pall Mall). Produced by Russell Rouse and Clarence Greene in association with Screen Gems, the series stars Mike Connors as an undercover agent named "Nick" who was assigned to infiltrate criminal gangs. The show was to have originally been titled Undercover Man but it was changed before going to air.
Mike Connors' character would narrate the episode, echoing film noir technique. Police often did not know that Nick was working for the law, thus he was in danger from both the good guys and the bad guys. A special gimmick was that in addition to a gun in a shoulder holster, he carried a second gun snubnosed revolver in a holster behind his back; he was often searched by both cops and bad guys, but they stopped searching after finding the first gun.
Tightrope walking, also called funambulism, is the art of walking along a thin wire or rope. It has a long tradition in various countries and is commonly associated with the circus. Other skills similar to tightrope walking include slack rope walking and slacklining.
"Tightrope" is the opening track to A New World Record by Electric Light Orchestra.
Recorded in 1976 at Musicland, Munich, West Germany, The song features a dramatic orchestral opening before transforming into an upbeat rock song. Although never released as a single, the song was a fan favorite and was performed live at every ELO concert including the Zoom tour in 2001. It had been remastered in 2000 and included on the box set Flashback.
Samples from "Tightrope" have been featured in various forms in many rapsongs, by artists including Army of the Pharaohs, The Game, Chief Kamachi, I-20, and various European rappers like French Rap Group Fonky Family (the track 'Dans la legende' from the Art de Rue album),([Sinik]) (the track 'Réglement extérieur'), ( Dutch group Lost Rebels (the track 'Revolutie' from the Revolutie album), Croatian rapgroup Tram 11 (the track 'Jedno' from the album Vrućina gradskog asfalta), Dutch synth group Laserdance (the track 'Mind Machine' from the album 'Dawn of time'), the German rapper Sido (the track 'Goldjunge' from the album 'Ich'), as well as the Albanian rapper Noizy (the track 'Ak' from the 'Most Wanted' album).

There are load of terms to know about DNA, and in this video we explain all the main ones - genes, alleles, homozygous and heterozygous, dominant and recessive, genotype and phenotype. Along the way we'll see how genes and inheritance really works!
Here is where you can get a Stated Clearly t-shirt! https://teespring.com/stores/stated-clearly An allele is an alternate version of a gene. Does that sound confusing? If so, don't worry. I made this video for you that explains it nice and... clearly. Genetics = fun.
In this video, I show real-world examples of alleles. An allele is different forms of the same gene which results in traits that look different. A trait is a characteristic that can be passed from one generation to another. The different forms of the same gene are the alleles How about a couple more real-life examples Eye color would be the trait The different color of eyes would be the alleles The trait is having hair Black or blonde hair color Your height is the trait If you are Six feet or five feet tall Allele different forms of the same trait.
