Did you have problem on how to remove your old JPJ roadtax from your windscreen and when you find too hard to remove it, you decided to just leave it on your windscreen?

The second time in as many days that I almost go under the wheels of a lorry. First the taxi overtakes way too close but little did I know what was coming... At a pinch point due to a traffic island that is barely wide enough for a large lorry, this moron decides it is a good spot to overtake not one but two cyclists simultaneously. I had about an inch from my handlebar to the side of his vehicle, with the other cyclists probably scared for his life as well not knowing what was happening behind him. You can see how much I had to brake to avoid a nasty collision by comparing the speed of the other cyclist to mine over time.
Later I catch up with the driver, who - as usual - didn't gain ANYTHING from his reckless manoeuvre, and then proceeds to give me the "I Pay Road Tax" bullsh*t, besides not wearing his seatbelt!
OVERTAKE SAFELY! I need to give the other cyclists a safe space to overtake him, and you need to give me a safe space to overtake me! That space is at least 1 metre as defined in the Highway Code. The highway code also advises cyclists to ride central in these kind of situations. You ACTUALLY gave me about an inch, with another inch on your right to the lamp post!
For one it's not a road tax it's vehicle excise duty and just because you pay this tax doesn't give you any special priority on the road or an entitlement to endanger others with your reckless driving! You pay this tax because your vehicle pollutes! And how do you know I don't have a car and pay VED anyway?
UPDATE:
The driver or his employers received a letter from the police advising them of the laws that were broken and no further action was taken. His employers were also contacted about this incident directly and never acknowledged this, let alone apologised. The lessons learnt from this are A), always take a strong primary position as in the video http://youtu.be/59yQR0p9aHw and B), even in the presence of strong video evidence like this the British Police won't act until someone has actually been killed... Very reassuring!

From the 1 October 2014, the tax disc is being abolished.
How does this make things easier for you?
From 1 October 2014, you’ll still need to tax your vehicle but there’ll be no longer a need for you to display a tax disc on your vehicle.
The police and other enforcement authorities use our electronic vehicle register to check if a vehicle is taxed – they no longer need to rely on checking the physical disc in the windscreen.
Don’t worry, you’ll still be sent a vehicle tax reminder through the post to tax online, by phone or at a Post office branch.
You’ll be able to check if a vehicle is taxed using DVLA’s free online vehicle enquiry service on GOV.UK
If you are the registered keeper of a vehicle and you sell or transfer it to the motor trade, tell us straight away and we will automatically refund you with any full month’s tax left. So no more refund forms to be filled in and sent by post to DVLA.
If you buy a used vehicle after 1 October, you’ll need to tax it before you can use it. We’ve made this easier as you can now use the new keeper supplement of the vehicle registrations certificate or logbook.
This can be done 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, online or by phone or alternatively, you can tax at a Post Office branch that deals with vehicle tax.
If you don’t have the logbook you can still go to the post office branch, who can help you apply for a logbook at the same time you tax your vehicle.
You’ll also have the option to use our new direct debit service for tax which starts from 1 November 2014.

Road tax, known by various names around the world, is a tax which has to be paid on a motor vehicle before using it on a public road.
All Australian states and territories require an annual vehicle registration fee to be paid in order to use a vehicle on public roads; the cost of which varies from state to state and is dependent on the type of vehicle. OVERTAKE SAFELY! I need to give the other cyclists a safe space to overtake him, and you need to give me a safe space to overtake me! That space is at least 1 metre as defined in the Highway Code. The highway code also advises cyclists to ride central in these kind of situations. You ACTUALLY gave me about an inch, with another inch on your right to the lamp post!
For one it's not a road tax it's vehicle excise duty and just because you pay this tax doesn't give you any special priority on the road or an entitlement to endanger others with your reckless driving! You pay this tax because your vehicle pollutes! And how do you know I don't have a car and pay VED anyway?

The driver or his employers received a letter from the police advising them of the laws that were broken and no further action was taken. His employers were also contacted about this incident directly and never acknowledged this, let alone apologised. The lessons learnt from this are A), always take a strong primary position as in the video http://youtu.be/59yQR0p9aHw and B), even in the presence of strong video evidence like this the British Police won't act until someone has actually been killed... Very reassuring!

How does this make things easier for you?
From 1 October 2014, you’ll still need to tax your vehicle but there’ll be no longer a need for you to display a tax disc on your vehicle.
The police and other enforcement authorities use our electronic vehicle register to check if a vehicle is taxed – they no longer need to rely on checking the physical disc in the windscreen.
Don’t worry, you’ll still be sent a vehicle tax reminder through the post to tax online, by phone or at a Post office branch.
You’ll be able to check if a vehicle is taxed using DVLA’s free online vehicle enquiry service on GOV.UK
If you are the registered keeper of a vehicle and you sell or transfer it to the motor trade, tell us straight away and we will automatically refund you with any full month’s tax left. So no more refund forms to be filled in and sent by post to DVLA.
If you buy a used vehicle after 1 October, you’ll need to tax it before you can use it. We’ve made this easier as you can now use the new keeper supplement of the vehicle registrations certificate or logbook.
This can be done 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, online or by phone or alternatively, you can tax at a Post Office branch that deals with vehicle tax.
If you don’t have the logbook you can still go to the post office branch, who can help you apply for a logbook at the same time you tax your vehicle.
You’ll also have the option to use our new direct debit service for tax which starts from 1 November 2014.
