Year 44 (XLIV) was a leap year starting on Wednesday (link will display the full calendar) of the Julian calendar. At the time, it was known as the Year of the Consulship of Crispus and Taurus (or, less frequently, year 797 Ab urbe condita). The denomination 44 for this year has been used since the early medieval period, when the Anno Domini calendar era became the prevalent method in Europe for naming years.
Raging Bull is a 1980 American biographical sports drama film directed by Martin Scorsese, and adapted by Paul Schrader and Mardik Martin from Jake LaMotta's memoir Raging Bull: My Story. It stars Robert De Niro as Jake LaMotta, a middleweight boxer whose sadomasochistic rage, sexual jealousy, and animalistic appetite destroyed his relationship with his wife and family. Also featured in the film are Joe Pesci as Joey, La Motta's well-intentioned brother and manager who tries to help Jake battle his inner demons; and Cathy Moriarty as his abused wife. The film features supporting roles from Nicholas Colasanto, Theresa Saldana, and Frank Vincent.
Scorsese was initially reluctant to develop the project, though he eventually came to relate to La Motta's story. Schrader re-wrote Martin's first screenplay, and Scorsese and De Niro together made uncredited contributions thereafter. Pesci was an unknown actor prior to the film, as was Moriarty, who was suggested for her role by Pesci. During principal photography, each of the boxing scenes was choreographed for a specific visual style and De Niro gained approximately 60 pounds (27 kg) to portray La Motta in his early post-boxing years. Scorsese was exacting in the process of editing and mixing the film, expecting it to be his last major feature.
By howlin’ wolf
I wore my .44 so long, I made my shoulder sore.
I wore my .44 so long, I made my shoulder sore.
Well, I’m going down in the valley, where my baby’s gone.
I’m so mad this morning, I don’t know where in the world to go.
I’m so mad this morning, I don’t know where in the world to go.
Well, I’m gonna get me some money, or I’ll just have some dough.
I wore my .44 so long, I made my shoulder sore.
I wore my .44 so long, I made my shoulder sore.
Well, I’m going down in the valley, where my baby’s gone.
I can't afford
And I can't get it for free
Please support me
You know how it feels
it has happened a lot of times before
Oh I wish I got the nerves to steal
I hate when it is plastic and too comfort
I just need it clean and solid
It has happened a lot of times before
To bad you see them fucking everywhere
A pair of fourty fours
I swam across a desert
Just to find my clothes
I reached an island
On a peninsula I knew
I started thinking of myself
How there's no place to go
Now that I'm on my feet
It's like counting sheep when they're not there
I've walked across the ocean
Just to find my shoes
I wore the soles off
And I couldn't find my boat
I started thinking of my thoughts
I risk with perfect circle
Of 44 in stones
It's like counting sheep when they're not there
Broken thoughts of a million scratching wolves
I'm not comfortable
And I'm uncomfortable
In your place
And I'm not comfortable
And I'm not comfortable
Which I hate
Which I hate
And there's too many people for you to blame
Will I stay?
I'm not comfortable
