Night or nighttime is the period of time between the sunset and the sunrise when the Sun is below the horizon. This occurs after dusk. The opposite of night is day (or "daytime" to distinguish it from "day" as used for a 24-hour period). The start and end points of time of a night vary based on factors such as season, latitude, longitude and timezone.
At any given time, one side of the planet Earth is bathed in light from the Sun (the daytime) and the other side of the Earth is in the shadow caused by the Earth blocking the light of the sun. This shadow is what we call the darkness of night. Natural illumination is still provided by a combination of moonlight, planetary light, starlight, diffuse zodiacal light, gegenschein, and airglow. In some circumstances, bioluminescence, aurorae and lightning can provide some illumination. The glow provided by artificial illumination is sometimes referred to as light pollution because it can interfere with observational astronomy and ecosystems.
John Marwood Cleese (/ˈkliːz/; born 27 October 1939) is an English actor, comedian, writer and film producer. He achieved success at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe and as a scriptwriter and performer on The Frost Report. In the late 1960s he became a member of Monty Python, the comedy troupe responsible for the sketch show Monty Python's Flying Circus and the four Monty Python films: And Now for Something Completely Different, The Holy Grail, Life of Brian and The Meaning of Life.
In the mid 1970s, Cleese and his first wife, Connie Booth, co-wrote and starred in the British sitcom Fawlty Towers. Later, he co-starred with Kevin Kline, Jamie Lee Curtis and former Python colleague Michael Palin in A Fish Called Wanda and Fierce Creatures. He also starred in Clockwise, and has appeared in many other films, including two James Bond films as R/Q, two Harry Potter films and three Shrek films.
With Yes Minister writer Antony Jay he co-founded Video Arts, a production company making entertaining training films.
Monty Python (sometimes known as The Pythons) was a British surreal comedy group who created Monty Python's Flying Circus, a British television comedy sketch show that first aired on the BBC on 5 October 1969. Forty-five episodes were made over four series. The Python phenomenon developed from the television series into something larger in scope and impact, spawning touring stage shows, films, numerous albums, several books and a stage musical as well as launching the members to individual stardom. The group's influence on comedy has been compared to The Beatles' influence on music.
The television series, broadcast by the BBC from 1969 to 1974, was conceived, written and performed by members Graham Chapman, John Cleese, Terry Gilliam, Eric Idle, Terry Jones, and Michael Palin. Loosely structured as a sketch show, but with an innovative stream-of-consciousness approach (aided by Gilliam's animation), it pushed the boundaries of what was acceptable in style and content. A self-contained comedy team responsible for both writing and performing their work, the Pythons' creative control allowed them to experiment with form and content, discarding rules of television comedy. Their influence on British comedy has been apparent for years, while in North America it has coloured the work of cult performers from the early editions of Saturday Night Live through to more recent absurdist trends in television comedy. "Pythonesque" has entered the English lexicon as a result.

Ted Lemont: Maybe it's one of those darned rodents. I get those from time to time.::John Figg: That's exactly what it is Ted. A rat crawled into the house and died.
Ted Lemont: John, I gotta admit, something doesn't seem right here... So spill it.::Frank: Sir, I see you have a beautiful family, have you thought about starting some sort of a retirement plan for the future of your wife and ki...::Ted Lemont: Quiet! Plot
L.A. Paranormal follows the ups and downs of a Los Angeles-based team of paranormal investigators. The group is led by second generation ghost hunter and skeptic Vince Norton. He is aided by Max Rutledge, his neurotic best friend and old college roommate. Also on board are metaphysicist and consultant Elliott Szpigiel, the team's technical wizard, and playboy medium John London, a psychic artist and former British television personality. During an investigation at the famously haunted Hollywoodland mental asylum, the team collects remarkable evidence that may support the existence of life after death. But soon after, an accusation of fraud lights a firestorm of controversy and sends them into a downward spiral that threatens to tear the group apart. The investigations get less appealing and the team loses credibility even amongst their peers, as they search for a way to clear their name and just maybe, once and for all, prove that ghosts really do exist.
Extreme tales of paranormal adventure!

I do not value sunshine and sparkling fountains,
in the way which children do with enthusiasm.
I love the darkness and the shadows,
where I can be alone in my thoughts.
I come from an older generation.
Time is an abyss, a thousand nights deep.
Centuries come and go.
Centuries come and go.
People can't do things as they get old, it's terrible.
Death is not everything, there are so many things that
are worse.
Can you imagine that one outlives centuries,
Chequered light buildings
Fallen from the sky
Sway as they climb into your eye
They’re taller now
Everything has changed
From an empty frame
Stares a distant face
Can he see me?
At night and all alone
When I raise my hand to wave
The face is gone
In a flash I see the face is mine
And swinging from the mantelpiece is why
I said I could go back to the house where all we keep is
keeping on
Where everyone pretends that they belong and long and
long
If I tell you what I’m seeing
Can you tell me what is true?
In the space between our feelings
There’s a place for me and you
The unborn darkness lives in day
The youth of dusk will soon grow older
Mature into the air of black
Steal your blood from nocturne prey
Embrace a million suns much darker
Caress the other world of night
The night cooling refuge
From southern's sun so endless
A polar summer midnight's shine
Night, my night, day's oasis
Where all my dreams still survive
A paradise I'll lose too sun from sleep
Summer, northern sunshine
Endless, midnight daylight
White night, insane sunshine
Madness
Go to where I'll meet the dark
The winter of polar sullen
It's where the noon is filled with black
Give your eyes to evil's play
Gaze upon a moon much truer
The strength of arms that hold
The Night
The Night, inspiration
For my own silent pleasures
Let fall the star of earthly life (for my night)
Night, my night, light forsaken
Where my power is alive
A paradise that's found earth's own shade
Winter, polar darkness
Endless, midday nighttime
All night, lost is sunshine
Eternal night
Come and see where your loyal shadows always betray
Come with me once cleansed of fear
Night's love will make you stay
Autumn, days grow shorter
Colder, nights grow longer
Seasons, change through time
(Forever) night, still seeking
Darker places call me
Hiding doesn't cure me
Expose my whole being to the night
HOT SUMMER NIGHTS
Night
There was a time not too far gone
When I was changed by just a song
On the radio and in my car
The pounding of an electric guitar
Then the time came to make our stand
We started up a four-piece band
And the heat felt like spotlights
In the heart of a hot summer night
Ooh hot summer nights
Ooh hot summer nights
Return with me to when times were best
We were friends that could pass any test
Shared our hopes, our dreams, our goals
And the fundamental rolls
As we sang in the dark rooms
Happy just to play our tunes
It felt good when we got it right
It felt good on a hot summer night
Ooh hot summer nights
Ooh hot summer nights
So it lives and it always will
The songs we sung are in us still
Ringing out with all of their might
In the heat of a hot summer night
Ooh hot summer nights
Ooh hot summer nights
Night
have a good night
and if there's trouble on your mind
there's always tomorrow
so for now,
turn down the
light
have a good time,
enjoy the shadows
way too beautiful
to be left behind
life
have a good life,
and if the last day ever
caught you by surprise
just pretend
there's no end...
It all seemed perfect
But there are moments when I feel nothing at all
Same as always
Now it's repeating itself all over again
Night after night you say you move on
Tomorrow, tomorrow
Now, what's holding you back?
I don't know, I don't know
Night after night you say you move on
Tomorrow, tomorrow
Now, what's holding you back?
I don't know, I don't know, I don't know
Don't feel sorry
'Cause there's no reason for us to fight any more
Tears are coming, and years are going
I hope we'll learn something
Night after night you say you move on
Tomorrow, tomorrow
Now, what's holding you back?
I don't know, I don't know
Night after night you say you move on
Tomorrow, tomorrow
Now, what's holding you back?
Night you'll come and cover me
Cold coffee spills all over me
It's only hours until the day
You make it look so far away
Night you come and sing the songs
Of birds that have no eyes
Of birds that never fly
Of birds that tell me lies
And the night and I go hand to hand
Breast to breast
Woman to woman
Night and I go quietly
We go softly
Screaming all the way
Night is watching from a tower
Turns on the electric fence
A night can make you disappear
Without a trace of evidence
Night sounds like a judgement
And nobody speaks on your behalf
And you hear yourself calling out loud
And you hear the night laughing back
And the night and I go hand to hand
Breast to breast
Woman to Woman
The night and I go quietly
We go softly
Screaming all the way
Night you know how I forgot
It's only hours until the day
So hard to remember that
It's hard to see a night that way

I fell into a dream....
Nothing, is what it seems
I fell into a dream....
Nothing, is what it seems
How do they know?
I fell into a dream....
ohhhhhh
I fell into a dream....
ohhhhhh
It's getting late
It's getting dark
In the end of the night I can feel your warmth
Come up close
Close to me
Coz In the end of the night I can feel you breathe
Don't be afraid
Don't be alarmed
In the end of the night you're in my arms
I'm on my bed
My bed of stones
But in the end of the night we'll rest our bones
So don't you worry
Just rest your head
Coz in the end of the night we'll be together again
You don't need to worry
I'll make your bed
And in the end of the night I can hold your hand
So come close, close to me
And I'll come closer to you
Coz in the end of the night when all we have is gone
I can just about get through the day,
But the night makes me nervous
Not for any reason.
Except maybe that it catches you unaware,
And follows you the way a woman follows
When she wants something..
[music interlude]
I've been in every kind of night,
Why, I shouldn't be afraid of darkness,
But for some reason, the night makes me nervous.
"Átok legyen rajtad
Fekete rossz átok
Szíved keserűbb legyen
Mint fájdalmat okozó másod
Elmédben a kígyó lakassa jól magát
A lét ne legyen számodra
Csak örök üres homály"
"Let curse be on thee
Black, malicious curse
Let thy heart be more bitter
Then thy harming self
Let the serpent be fed in your mind
Let not thy being he else
Than twilight eternal and void..."
The sky has opened for the rays of the torches
Four signs have awakened the nature from the sleep
Coldness have walked through the stars
By dead leaves we have signed the past
The sky
Clear and calm
Carving wrath
You get up every morning at the sound of the bell
You get to work late and the boss man's giving you hell
Till you're out on a midnight run
Losing your heart to a beautiful one
And it feels right as you lock up the house
Turn out the lights and step out into the night
And the world is busting at its seams
And you're just a prisoner of your dreams
Holding on for your life `cause you work all day
To blow `em away in the night
The rat traps filled with soul crusaders
The circuits lined and jammed with chromed invaders
And she's so pretty that you're lost in the stars
As you jockey your way through the cars
And sit at the light, as it changes to green
With your faith in your machine off you scream into the night
And you're in love with all the wonder it brings
And every muscle in your body sings as the highway ignites
You work nine to five and somehow you survive till the night
Hell all day they're busting you up on the outside
But tonight you're gonna break on through to the inside
And it'll be right, it'll be right, and it'll be tonight
And you know she will be waiting there
And you'll find her somehow you swear
Somewhere tonight you run sad and free
We do not know how things work
We do not know where you go
In the night
Through the door
Through the door that holds you
Through the door that holds you
Out of the blue
We do not know
The door that holds you
Silent as glue
We stand under it
But we don't understand it
We stand under it
But we don't understand it
The door that holds you
Silent as glue
And stars fall on
Stars fall on
The sun descending in the West,
The evening star does shine;
The birds are silent in their nest,
And I must seek for mine.
The moon, like a flower
In heaven's high bower,
With silent delight,
Sits and smiles on the night.
Farewell, green fields and happy groves,
Where flocks have took delight,
Where lambs have nibbled, silent moves
The feet of angels bright;
Unseen, they pour blessing,
And joy without ceasing,
On each bud and blossom,
And each sleeping bosom.
They look in every thoughtless nest
Where birds are covered warm;
They visit caves of every beast,
To keep them all from harm:
If they see any weeping
That should have been sleeping,
They pour sleep on their head,
And sit down by their bed.
When wolves and tigers howl for prey,
They pitying stand and weep;
Seeking to drive their thirst away,
And keep them from the sheep.
But, if they rush dreadful,
The angels, most heedful,
Receive each mild spirit,
New worlds to inherit.
And there the lion's ruddy eyes
Shall flow with tears of gold:
And pitying the tender cries,
And walking round the fold:
Saying: 'Wrath by His meekness,
And, by His health, sickness,
Is driven away
From our immortal day.
'And now beside thee, bleating lamb,
I can lie down and sleep,
Or think on Him who bore thy name,
Graze after thee, and weep.
For, washed in life's river,
My bright mane for ever
Shall shine like the gold,
