Aden (/ˈɑːdɛn/ AH-den; Arabic: عدن ʻAdan) is a seaport city in South Yemen, located by the eastern approach to the Red Sea (the Gulf of Aden), some 170 kilometres east of Bab-el-Mandeb. Its population is approximately a million people. Aden's ancient, natural harbour lies in the crater of a dormant volcano which now forms a peninsula, joined to the mainland by a low isthmus. This harbour, Front Bay, was first used by the ancient Kingdom of Awsan between the 5th and 7th centuries BCE. The modern harbour is on the other side of the peninsula.
Aden consists of a number of distinct sub-centers: Crater, the original port city; Ma'alla, the modern port; Tawahi, known as "Steamer Point" in the colonial period; and the resorts of Gold Mohur. Khormaksar, located on the isthmus that connects Aden proper with the mainland, includes the city's diplomatic missions, the main offices of Aden University, and Aden International Airport (the former British Royal Air Force station RAF Khormaksar), Yemen's second biggest airport. On the mainland are the sub-centres of Sheikh Othman, a former oasis area; Al-Mansura, a town planned by the British; and Madinat ash-Sha'b (formerly Madinat al-Itihad), the site designated as the capital of the South Arabian Federation and now home to a large power/desalinization facility and additional faculties of Aden University.

Iran says its naval vessels have not departed from the Gulf of Aden and will continue their mission there. Navy commander Rear Admiral Habibollah Sayyari says Iran’s thirty fourth naval vessels group is currently patrolling the Gulf of Aden. Saudi Arabia continues to bomb Yemen. The country has been hit by more than 25 airstrikes over past few hours alone, with 20 attacks targeting the southern city of Aden. It’s the third consecutive day of Saudi airstrikes which were resumed following Riyadh’s announcement of an end to its aerial campaign against Yemen. At least 23 people have been killed since the attacks were resumed. This brings the total death to at least two-thousand seven-hundred 50 since Saudi Arabia began bombing Yemen on March 26. Most of the casualties are civilians. Riyadh says its airstrikes are aimed at reinstating fugitive former president Abd-Rabbuh Mansour Hadi.

Plot

Plot

Saudi Arabia continues to bomb Yemen. The country has been hit by more than 25 airstrikes over past few hours alone, with 20 attacks targeting the southern city of Aden. It’s the third consecutive day of Saudi airstrikes which were resumed following Riyadh’s announcement of an end to its aerial campaign against Yemen. At least 23 people have been killed since the attacks were resumed. This brings the total death to at least two-thousand seven-hundred 50 since Saudi Arabia began bombing Yemen on March 26. Iran navy commander denies ships withdrawn from Gulf of Aden

Iran says its naval vessels have not departed from the Gulf of Aden and will continue their mission there.
Navy commander Rear Admiral Habibollah Sayyari says Iran’s thirty fourth naval vessels group is currently patrolling the Gulf of Aden. The Iranian ships are tasked with securing Iranian shipping lines, combating marine terrorism and providing security for the region. The Iranian commander says Iran will not allow any country to inspect its vessels or threaten them to leave an area. The Iranian naval vessels, including Bushehr logistical ship and Alborz destroyer sailed to the Gulf of Aden in early April. A Pentagon spokesman had said Iranian vessels turned around from the Gulf of Aden and are heading back home.

Saudi Arabia continues to bomb Yemen. The country has been hit by more than 25 airstrikes over past few hours alone, with 20 attacks targeting the southern city of Aden. It’s the third consecutive day of Saudi airstrikes which were resumed following Riyadh’s announcement of an end to its aerial campaign against Yemen. At least 23 people have been killed since the attacks were resumed. This brings the total death to at least two-thousand seven-hundred 50 since Saudi Arabia began bombing Yemen on March 26. Most of the casualties are civilians. Riyadh says its airstrikes are aimed at reinstating fugitive former president Abd-Rabbuh Mansour Hadi. It claims the attacks target military positions of Ansarullah and their allies. On the ground, however, civilian areas and Yemen’s infrastructure have been hit hard.

he Red Sea, or what is sometimes called the Erythraean Sea, is a seawater inlet of the Indian Ocean, lying between Africa and Asia. The connection to the ocean is in the south through the Bab el Mandeb strait and the Gulf of Aden. In the north, there is the Sinai Peninsula, the Gulf of Aqaba, and the Gulf of Suez (leading to the Suez Canal). The Red Sea is a Global 200 ecoregion. The sea is underlain by the Red Sea Rift which is part of the Great Rift Valley.
The Red Sea has a surface area of roughly 438,000 km² (169,100 mi²). It is about 2250 km (1398 mi) long and, at its widest point, 355 km (220.6 mi) wide. It has a maximum depth of 2211 m (7254 ft) in the central median trench, and an average depth of 490 m (1,608 ft). However, there are also extensive shallow shelves,
noted for their marine life and corals. The sea is the habitat of over 1,000 invertebrate species, and 200 soft and hard corals. It is the world's northernmost tropical sea.

Iran navy commander denies ships withdrawn from Gulf of Aden
Iran says its naval vessels have not departed from the Gulf of Aden and will continue their mission there. Navy commander Rear Admiral Habibollah Sayyari says Iran’s thirty fourth naval vessels group is currently patrolling the Gulf of Aden. The Iranian ships are tasked with securing Iranian shipping lines, combating marine terrorism and providing security for the region. The Iranian commander says Iran will not allow any country to inspect its vessels or threaten them to leave an area. The Iranian naval vessels, including Bushehr logistical ship and Alborz destroyer sailed to the Gulf of Aden in early April. A Pentagon spokesman had said Iranian vessels turned around from the Gulf of Aden and are heading back home. Saudi Arabia continues to bomb Yemen. The country has been hit by more than 25 airstrikes over past few hours alone, with 20 attacks targeting the southern city of Aden. It’s the third consecutive day of Saudi airstrikes which were resumed following Riyadh’s announcement of an end to its aerial campaign against Yemen. At least 23 people have been killed since the attacks were resumed. This brings the total death to at least two-thousand seven-hundred 50 since Saudi Arabia began bombing Yemen on March 26. Most of the casualties are civilians. Riyadh says its airstrikes are aimed at reinstating fugitive former president Abd-Rabbuh Mansour Hadi. It claims the attacks target military positions of Ansarullah and their allies. On the ground, however, civilian areas and Yemen’s infrastructure have been hit hard.
