Richard Totten "Dick" Button (born July 18, 1929) is an American former figure skater and a well-known long-time skating television analyst. He is a two-time Olympic Champion (1948, 1952) and five-time World Champion (1948–1952). He is also the only non-European man to have become European Champion.
Button is credited as having been the first skater to successfully land the double axel jump in competition in 1948, as well as the first triple jump of any kind – a triple loop – in 1952. He also invented the flying camel spin, which was originally known as the "Button camel".
Dick Button was born and raised in Englewood, New Jersey. He began skating at a young age. He did not begin training seriously until the age of 12 after his father overheard him being told he would never be a good skater. Soon after, Button's father sent him to New York to take lessons from ice dancing coach Joe Carroll. He trained over the summer in Lake Placid, New York, eventually switching on Carroll's recommendation to coach Gustave Lussi, who coached Button for the rest of his career.
Barbara Ann Scott King, (born May 9, 1928 in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada) is a four-time Canadian figure skating Champion (1944–46, 48). She is the 1948 Olympic Champion and two-time World Champion (1947–1948) in ladies singles. During her forties she was rated among the top equestrians in North America. She has received many honours and accolades, including being made an Officer of the Order of Canada in 1991 and a member of the Order of Ontario in 2008.
Barbara Ann Scott is the youngest of three children born to Canadian Army Colonel Clyde Rutherford Scott and Mary Purves of Sandy Hill in Ottawa. She began skating at the age of seven with the Minto Skating Club. At the age of ten she became the youngest ever to pass the "gold figures test" and at eleven years old won her first national junior title. Two years later, in 1942, she became the first female to ever land a double lutz in competition, and by the age of fifteen was Canada's "senior champion". From 1944 to 1946, she held the Canadian Figure Skating championship. In 1947 Scott became the first North American to win both the European and World Figure Skating championships, and remains the only Canadian to win the European title. This led to her being voted Canadian Newsmaker of the Year in 1947. On her return to Ottawa during a parade she was given a yellow Buick convertible (license plate: 47-U-1); however it had to be returned for her to retain amateur status, so as to be able to compete in the 1948 Winter Olympics.
Wo kamst du her
Standest vor mir
Weisst du denn nicht dass meine Angst dich zerstoert
Wer bist du schon
Dass du hier her kamst
Und zaubertest Traenen in meine Wut
Zu lieben, zu verlangen
Dass ists wohl was man leben nennt
Was glaubst du denn
Du kannst mich bewahren
Vor mir und den Naechten
Besser du vergisst
Zu lieben, zu verlangen ...
Repent for your sins
And pray for your life here and after
Let the fight now begin
It's in you all let flow and please send you cash in
You should have known
I need your money to fight the good fight
The seed is sown
There will be no light without the cash you got it right!
Let's join together and bask in the splendor
Of far better things
My high tech mercedes, my built in jacuzzi
My tenth diamond right
We are alone in this world
No divine force to say
Who lives and who will die
Chorus
In God - in God we're trusting
In God - our lives we're investing
In God - our debt has been paid, still we are all laid to rest
Now brothers and sisters
I know what you're thinking believe me
It seems I have fallen
It was a phase I had strayed but I'm back with God now
You should have seen
Right through these words of deceit and false promises
A pack of thieves
Ready to rip off your need to believe
Turn up the sound on your tv
And you'll see what a fool really is
This pompous whale screaming and preaching
Then kneeling he goes into tears
Wolves in sheep's clothing
They're waiting for you
Twisting your mind
So you see how they see and believe
What they believe
Chorus
Solo
Chorus
Maybe my eyes don’t lie. Is that why you look at me like it’s my
confession?
All sin and sacrifice, that’s just the way I taste when you feed the tension.
Oh, hear me out.
Oh, hear me out.
I lie when I say 'I’m fine. Yeah, the pain makes sense. I'll get over it.'
I lie and the consequence is you’ll never know what you’ll never get
by tearing me all down.
This only feels right now but I know it’s not the same, just the same
intention.
I miss you for your mind and body goes with it, but for the apprehension.
Oh, hear me out.
Oh, hear me out.
I lie when I say 'I’m fine. Yeah, the pain makes sense. I'll get over it.'
I lie and the consequence is you’ll never know what you’ll never get
by tearing me all down for you.
Somebody had to go and be honest. Be honest.
Somebody had to go and sing nothing but the truth in code.
Oh, hear me out.
Oh, hear me out.
I lie when I say 'I’m fine. Yeah, the pain makes sense. I'll get over it.'
I lie and the consequence is you’ll never know what you’ll never get
Soaring with wings of innocence I saw the Earth's
resignation
This 3rd spit of the Sun from above seemed like a
teardrop in a black ocean...
...a teardrop of pure emotion
[Chorus:]
You made me unwinged
Separated from my spine and grinded
Yoke instead feathers
but this falling made me sober
From closer world's beauty became disgust as I watched
the man's slow swarming
Indifference, jealousy, despise, greed, extortion made
the human virus unfolding
[Chorus]
My wings -Your trophy
You're bursting with pride
My pain - Your proof
That you're always right
But to tell the truth I really don't care
You are something I'm not
My soul flies without these wings
As I crawl on the ground till my fingers bleed
Facing the human coldness I resolved to find the
missing part of mine
who stands the smell filled the lungs of mine
Otra vez
Camino sin direccin
Acompaado por la inmensidad
De una noche fria y gris.
Y la luna,
Que llena el crepsculo
Me baa en matices de nostalgia
Al reflejar tu rostro
Me siento tan triste amor,
Tan infeliz
Tan lleno de ansiedad
No s qu nos separo,
Y como negarle a mi corazn...
...que an te amo
Que an te extrao
Los das sin ti
Son como morir
An...
...te amo
Donde ests?
No quiero perderte...no, no
No se si piensas en mi
Como yo en ti
Oh me haces tanta falta
Que vale el orgullo
Si me siento as
Si eres gran parte de mi
Dnde supones que
Debo ocultar
El dolor que llevo aqui?....
Si aun te amo
Si aun te extrao
Los das sin ti
Son como morir
Aun...
...te extrao
(solo)
No se que nos separo
Que puede hacer
Este abismo entre los dos
No quiero esta soledad
Te quiero a ti
Te quiero solo a ti!
Aun te amo
Aun te extrao
Los dias sin ti
Son como morir
Aun...
when you're going out
when i'm staying in
keep your head above
head above water
you could start again
keep your head above
we don't want each other
we don't want our love
start from one and two
count from one to five
we can't change this feeling
we can't change this time
learn to, learn to trust
let no one else in
start from one and two
count from one to five
when you go out
and i'm staying in
little has changed
When I go outside these days
Almost everything seems strange
And there are things I'd like to say
But they get swallowed on the way
Oh these are the things that I have seen
Worth trying to learn to love the cold
Oh these are the things that I have seen
Whilst trying a lot to love this cold
Cold wings, and cold feet
Frozen by the snow and sleet
Tiny wings, and tiny feet
Everything, everything, everything
Keeps me remembering of a girl I had to leave all alone
And I am wondering why this is happening
While I am listening to my heart
Talking faster than ever before
It says
Things must be wrong in this world
Since I can't be with my girl
I will sleep til I wake up next to you
And it seems like all I have loved
Comes back as soon as I start to dream of you
I got lost in the nighttime sky
Taking off from my settle
But I tumble down like a kite
Since I'm not used to this height
It's been a year since I fell from a star
Not giving up on this battle
I miss you more every night
I feel like wasting my time
Everything everything everything
That means the world to me
Is a world away from my home
And I keep wondering why this is happening
While I'm listening to my heart talking faster than ever before
It says
Your lips will touch again
Like they did last september
And you will smile again
Like on those photos you've send her
And I wish I already left
I got lost in the nighttime sky
Taking off from my settle
But I tumble down like a kite
Since I'm not used to this height
It's been a year since I fell from a star
Not giving up on this battle
I miss you more every night
