Gunsmoke is one of those long-running classic Old-Time Radio shows that everyone knows and remembers. It's also one that is still respected for its high values, in all aspects. Gunsmoke first aired on the CBS network on April 26, 1952, billed as the first adult western. It was set in Dodge City, Kansas in the 1870's.
The main character, Matt Dillon, was played by William Conrad. On August 6, 1951, William Conrad played the lead in a show entitled "Pagosa" in the series Romance, where he played the part of a reluctant sheriff in a tough Western town. Although not a true audition, Conrad's character role is very close the that of Matt Dillon in Gunsmoke. It was one of the "stepping stones" toward the production of Gunsmoke.
Other regular characters were Chester Proudfoot, played by Parley Baer; Kitty, played by Georgia Ellis; and Doc Adams, played by Howard McNear.
The series featured top-notch acting and well-developed scripts that set it apart from many other shows, not only Westerns; however, it was the sound effects that stood out the most. Listen carefully and one can hear many levels of sound that really helps transport the listener back to the old west.
Besides the US version, there was an Australian production of Gunsmoke. It began sometime in 1955, transcribed under the Artransa label, and aired Mondays at 7:00 PM on the Macquarie network. It is not known how many shows aired or how long the series ran.

Peter Gunn Full Episode Summary - A hearing-impaired man (Vic Perrin, Control Voice, "The Outer Limits") stabs a Chinese shop owner to death with a dagger, while Triad muscle go after a gorgeous dancer's fan, given to her for good luck. The dancer's fiancé (James Hong, the arrogant host of "The Chinese Restaurant," Seinfeld) hires Peter Gunn ("the king of finders-out") to change her luck. Is there a connection between the fan and the murderer, who adores The Green Dragon's star dancer ?
Peter Gunn was an American private eye television series which aired on the NBC and later ABC television networks from 1958 to 1961. The show's creator (and also writer and director on occasion) was Blake Edwards. It was also directed by Boris Sagal, Robert Gist, Jack Arnold, Lamont Johnson, one episode by Robert Altman, and several others. A total of 114 thirty-minute episodes were produced by Spartan Productions. Season one was filmed at Universal Studios, seasons two and three were filmed at Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer. Philip H. Lathrop and William W. Spencer were cinematographers on many episodes. Craig Stevens' wardrobe was tailored by Don Richards and Lola Albright's fashions by Jax.
The series is probably best remembered today for its music, especially the popular "Peter Gunn Theme", which won an Emmy Award and two Grammys for Henry Mancini and subsequently has been performed and recorded by many jazz, rock, and blues musicians. The series was No. 17 in the Nielsen ratings for the 1958–1959 TV season.
Filmed in a film noir atmosphere and featuring Henry Mancini music that could tell you the action with your eyes closed, Peter Gunn worked in style. Known as Pete to his friends and simply as Gunn to his enemies, he did his job in a calm cool way. He got his tips and cautions from Lieutenant Jacoby, a coffee drinking pal from the police. Also providing tips was "Mother" of her self-titled nightclub. Working at the nightclub as a singer was Edie Hart, his girlfriend.

In 1955, the same year the radio show ended, Sergeant Preston of the Yukon premiered as a television series. Richard Simmons starred as Sgt. Preston, and was supported by Yukon King and Rex, now played by real animals. The dog cast as King was not a husky, however, but a large Alaskan Malamute. Charles Livingstone, who had worked on the radio version, directed several episodes. Though no plotlines seem to have been re-used from the radio show, they were generally built upon the same themes. The same few buildings were regularly seen as part of many settlements in the shows.

After looting a trading post and murdering the owner, two savage profiteers use the stolen food to extort gold from the starving inhabitants of a successful mining camp that was stranded from its supply chain.

Vic
Vic (Catalan pronunciation: [ˈbik]) is the capital of the comarca of Osona, in the Barcelona Province, Catalonia, Spain. Vic's location is 69 km from Barcelona and 60 km from Girona. Vic's position has made it one of the most important towns in central Catalonia.
Geography
Vic lies in the middle of the Plain of Vic, equidistant from Barcelona and the Pyrenees.
Vic is famous for its persistent fog in winter as a result of a persistent thermal inversion with temperatures as low as -10 °C and an absolute record of -24 °C. Episodes of cold and severe snowstorms are noticeable. In summer, storms are very common during the dry season, typical of the Mediterranean climate of coastal Catalonia. For that reason the natural vegetation includes the pubescent oak typical of the sub-Mediterranean climates of eastern France, Northern Italy and the Balkans.
History
Vic is of ancient origin. In past times it was called Ausa by the Romans. Iberian coins bearing this name have been found there. The Visigoths called it Ausona. Sewage caps on sidewalks around the city will also read "Vich," an old form of the name.

Vic Perrin
Victor Herbert "Vic" Perrin (April 26, 1916 – July 4, 1989) was an American actor. He is best remembered for having provided the "Control Voice" in the original version of the television series The Outer Limits (1963-65).
Early years
Perrin was born in Menomonee Falls, Wisconsin. He graduated from the University of Wisconsin–Madison in the 1930s, and moved to California in 1940.
Biography
Radio
During the 1940s and 1950s, Perrin was a regular performer on old-time radio, appearing in many shows. His first role, however, came in 1943, when he became announcer for Free World Theatre's episode "The Last Will and Testament Of Tom Smith." The series was produced and directed by Arch Oboler. He later appeared on Oboler's short-lived television series, Arch Oboler's Comedy Theatre. Perrin narrated "A Star With Two Names," part of the segment "Behind The Scenes Hollywood Story" of The Hollywood Music Hall radio program. At the same time, he would join Charles Laughton's theatrical repertory group.

Sergeant Preston Of The Yukon - Relief Train
In 1955, the same year the radio show ended, Sergeant Preston of the Yukon premiered as a television series. Richard Simmons starred as Sgt. Preston, and was supported by Yukon King and Rex, now played by real animals. The dog cast as King was not a husky, however, but a large Alaskan Malamute. Charles Livingstone, who had worked on the radio version, directed several episodes. Though no plotlines seem to have been re-used from the radio show, they were generally built upon the same themes. The same few buildings were regularly seen as part of many settlements in the shows. Tonight's Episode: Relief Train After looting a trading post and murdering the owner, two savage profiteers use the stolen food to extort gold from the starving inhabitants of a successful mining camp that was stranded...

Gunsmoke first aired on the CBS network on April 26, 1952, billed as the first adult western. It was set in Dodge City, Kansas in the 1870's.
The main character, Matt Dillon, was played by William Conrad. On August 6, 1951, William Conrad played the lead in a show entitled "Pagosa" in the series Romance, where he played the part of a reluctant sheriff in a tough Western town. Although not a true audition, Conrad's character role is very close the that of Matt Dillon in Gunsmoke. It was one of the "stepping stones" toward the production of Gunsmoke.
Other regular characters were Chester Proudfoot, played by Parley Baer; Kitty, played by Georgia Ellis; and Doc Adams, played by Howard McNear.
The series featured top-notch acting and well-developed scripts that set it apart from many other shows, not only Westerns; however, it was the sound effects that stood out the most. Listen carefully and one can hear many levels of sound that really helps transport the listener back to the old west.
Besides the US version, there was an Australian production of Gunsmoke. It began sometime in 1955, transcribed under the Artransa label, and aired Mondays at 7:00 PM on the Macquarie network. It is not known how many shows aired or how long the series ran.

Lathrop and William W. Spencer were cinematographers on many episodes. Craig Stevens' wardrobe was tailored by Don Richards and Lola Albright's fashions by Jax.
The series is probably best remembered today for its music, especially the popular "Peter Gunn Theme", which won an Emmy Award and two Grammys for Henry Mancini and subsequently has been performed and recorded by many jazz, rock, and blues musicians. The series was No. 17 in the Nielsen ratings for the 1958–1959 TV season.
Filmed in a film noir atmosphere and featuring Henry Mancini music that could tell you the action with your eyes closed, Peter Gunn worked in style. Known as Pete to his friends and simply as Gunn to his enemies, he did his job in a calm cool way. He got his tips and cautions from Lieutenant Jacoby, a coffee drinking pal from the police. Also providing tips was "Mother" of her self-titled nightclub. Working at the nightclub as a singer was Edie Hart, his girlfriend.

VICTORIA, BRITISH COLUMBIA: TRAVEL DIARY 2015
My first video, a compilation of footage from my trip to Victoria, BC at the beginning of summer break, 2015 before I leave on exchange to Sweden. I went whale watching twice with Prince of Whales (located in Victoria's Downtown Harbour) and saw killer whales/orca whales both trips (as well as other wildlife like seals and sea lions), went out on my grandparents boat from Royal Victoria Yacht Club, drove up past Duncan to the Cowichan Valley to visit my great aunt, and had a great time exploring my favourite city in the world.

Peninsula Hot Springs are a unique and invigorating experience in the rolling hills of the Mornington Peninsula. They source the mineral water from natural hot springs 637m below ground. This water comes out at a warm 50°C and then is cooled down to various temperatures between 37°C and 43°C so everyone can find a pool at a temperature that is comfortable for them. The thermal waters in these pools are also full of minerals and are considered to have healing qualities for the body. There are over 20 different styles of bathes and pools to choose from and you can even indulge in their private bathing area. We did that with a bottle of bubbly. They even have a Hamam, Turkish Steam Room, where you can purchase the salts from reception and do the scrub amongst friends, or organise a group ...

Miniature-themed dioramas and displays representing historical times and fictional worlds. Over 85 exciting miniature dioramas and displays. One of the most popular tourist attractions in downtown.
05. Beacon Hill Park
A 75 ha (200 acre) park located along the shore of Juan de Fuca Strait. Contains a number of amenities including woodland and shoreline trails, two playgrounds, a waterpark, playing fields, a petting zoo, tennis courts, many ponds, and landscaped gardens.
06. Victoria Bug Zoo
A two-room minizoo that is located in downtown. Exhibits about 50 species of insects, arachnids, and Myriapoda. Currently the largest tropical insect collection in North America. Visitors can hold and handle different varieties of species like tarantulas, cockroaches, scorpions, walking sticks, millipedes, and praying mantis. Has Canada's largest ant farm that contains leaf-cutter ants.
07. Fisgard Lighthouse National Historic Site
The first lighthouse on the west coast of Canada. Was built in 1860 to guide vessels through the entrance of Esquimalt harbour. It was named after HMS Fisgard, a British Navy ship that spent time in the Pacific. Designated a National Historic Site of Canada in 1958. Also a Classified Federal Heritage Building.
08. British Columbia Aviation Museum
The Museum consists of a display area spread over two hangars, a classroom, a restoration workshop and a gift shop. Displays include historical civilian and military artefacts including uniforms, medals and models. Located in Sidney, British Columbia, Canada. It is on the grounds of the Victoria International Airport.
09. Thunderbird Park
A park in Victoria next to the Royal British Columbia Museum. Home to many totem poles (mostly Gitxsan, Haida, and Kwakwaka'wakw) and other First Nation monuments. Totem poles were first erected on the site in 1940 as part of a conservation effort to preserve some of the region's rapidly deteriorating Aboriginal art.
