Mithra (Avestan: Miθpa) is the Zoroastrian divinity (yazata) of covenant and oath. In addition to being the divinity of contracts, Mithra is also a judicial figure, an all-seeing protector of Truth, and the guardian of cattle, the harvest and of The Waters.

The term Mithra is from the Avestan language. In Middle Iranian languages (Middle Persian, Parthian etc.), Mithra became Mehr, Myhr etc., from which Modern Persian مهر Mehr, Pashto لمر Lmar, Waziri ميېر Myer and Armenian Mihr ultimately derive.

Together with the Vedic common noun mitra, the Avestan common noun miθra derives from proto-Indo-Iranian *mitra, from the root mi- "to bind", with the "tool suffix" -tra- "causing to." Thus, etymologically mitra/miθra means "that which causes binding", preserved in the Avestan word for "covenant, contract, oath".^{[citation needed]}

Mithra is described in the Zoroastrian Avesta scriptures as, "Mithra of wide pastures, of the thousand ears, and of the myriad eyes,"(Yasna 1:3), "the lofty, and the everlasting...the province ruler,"(Yasna 1:11), "the Yazad (divinity) of the spoken name"(Yasna 3:5), and "the holy,"(Yasna 3:13)

Choi Jin (Hangul: 최진, Hanja: 崔眞, born 6 January 1983), more commonly known by the stage name Mithra Jin (Hangul: 미쓰라 진), is a Korean hip hop musician, rap artist, and lyricist. He is the second MC of the group Epik High.

Mithra was originally a poet whose poems also worked as rhymes. Then he made a debut in the group named K-Ryders, which included J-Win, DJ D-Tones, Kyung Bin. K-Ryders actively led a concert in Korean underground around 2000s, and was disbanded in 2002 due to members' personal reasons (such as studying or pursuit of personal careers). Park emceeing and poetry readings were the first places where he met Tablo, someone who he would work together with in the group Epik High.

On 3 August 2010, Mithra Jin also enlisted for mandatory military service, he entered the 102 reserve in Chuncheon, then served as an infantry rifle soldier, a member of the military band and a GOP soldier, and finally at the Defense Media Agency (DEMA). He was discharged by the Ministry of Defense in Yongsan-gu, Seoul on 14 May 2012.

The Persian Gulf War (2 August 1990 – 28 February 1991), codenamed Operation Desert Storm (17 January 1991 – 28 February 1991) commonly referred to as simply the Gulf War, was a war waged by a UN-authorized coalition force from 34 nations led by the United States, against Iraq in response to Iraq's invasion and annexation of Kuwait.

The war is also known under other names, such as the First Gulf War, Gulf War I, or the Iraq War, before the term "Iraq War" became identified instead with the 2003 Iraq War (also referred to in the U.S. as "Operation Iraqi Freedom").

The invasion of Kuwait by Iraqi troops that began 2 August 1990 was met with international condemnation, and brought immediate economic sanctions against Iraq by members of the UN Security Council. U.S. President George H. W. Bush deployed American forces into Saudi Arabia, and urged other countries to send their own forces to the scene. An array of nations joined the coalition. The great majority of the military forces in the coalition were from the United States, with Saudi Arabia, the United Kingdom and Egypt as leading contributors, in that order. Around US$36 billion of the US$60 billion cost was paid by Saudi Arabia.

Mithra Kurian (Malayalam: മിത്ര കുര്യൻ), (born Dalma Kurian), is an Indian film actress who appears in Malayalam and Tamil films. After appearing in suppoerting roles in 2 Malayalam films, she starred in two Tamil films, before essaying lead female roles and gaining attention in Malayalam cinema. Her portrayal of Sethulakshmi in Bodyguard (2010) won her critical acclaim and she went on to reprise the role in its Tamil remake Kaavalan. Her another notable role was in Rama Ravanan starring Suresh Gopi. she is related to noted South Indian actress Nayanthara.

She first appeared in a supporting role in the 2005 film Mayookham directed by T. Hariharan, following which she took a break from acting and concentrated on her studies. She was then cast by director Siddique in a supporting role for his Tamil film Sadhu Miranda, after he saw Mithra on a cover of an issue of the magazine Grihalakshmi. Afterwards, she starred in another Tamil film, the low-budget venture Suriyan Satta Kalloori, which was panned by critics.

Robert Holmes "Rob" Bell Jr. (born August 23, 1970 in Ingham County, Michigan) is an American author and pastor. He is the founder of Mars Hill Bible Church located in Grandville, Michigan and is also the featured speaker in a series of spiritual short films called NOOMA. In 2011 Time magazine named Bell one of the 100 most influential people in the world. He is the author of the New York Times bestsellers Love Wins and Velvet Elvis. Under his leadership Mars Hill Bible Church was one of the fastest-growing churches in America.

Bell is the son of Judge Robert Holmes Bell, who was nominated by Ronald Reagan to the federal judiciary and publicly confirmed by the United States Senate. Bell grew up in a traditional Christian environment. In 2011, Bell was recognized as a member of the 2011 Time 100 list.

Bell attended Wheaton College. While at Wheaton, he roomed with Ian Eskelin of All Star United. With friends Dave Houk, Brian Erickson, Steve Huber and Chris Fall, he formed the indie rock band, "_ton bundle", which was reminiscent of bands such as R.E.M. and Talking Heads. This is when _ton bundle wrote the song "Velvet Elvis", based upon the same Velvet Elvis painting that he used in his first book Velvet Elvis: Repainting the Christian Faith. Wheaton College was also where Bell met his wife, Kristen. The band _ton bundle started to gain some local fame and was even asked to perform at large events, but when Bell was struck with viral meningitis these plans fell through.
