Once in, however, he must stay for a week; the juvenile ward is being renovated, so he's in with adults as well as a few youths. Bobby, a man with a young daughter, shows him around; Craig notices Noelle, about his age. He tries to keep his friends from finding out where he is. Sometimes what's in your head isn't as crazy as you think.
Dr. Eden Minerva: Lord, grant me the strength to accept the things I cannot change; Courage to change the things I can; And wisdom to know the difference.
Craig: [During a basketball practice in the hospital] How'd you end up in here?::Bobby: Man, you don't give up, do you? I'm on vacation.::Craig: Seriously.::Bobby: I am serious. Some people go to Hamptons. I come here. Get a little R&R.; People feed you. I get high sometimes, man.::Craig: That's not what I've heard about you.::Bobby: [sigh] What did you hear?::Craig: [hesitating a bit] I heard you tried to rape a penguin at the zoo.::Bobby: [straightening up] Who told you that?
Craig: Okay, I know you're thinking, "What is this? Kid spends a few days in the hospital and all his problems are cured?" But I'm not. I know I'm not. I can tell this is just the beginning. I still need to face my homework, my school, my friends. My dad. But the difference between today and last Saturday is that for the first time in a while, I can look forward to the things I want to do in my life. Bike, eat, drink, talk. Ride the subway, read, read maps. Make maps, make art. Finish the Gates application. Tell my dad not to stress about it. Hug my mom. Kiss my little sister. Kiss my dad. Make out with Noelle. Make out with her more. Take her on a picnic. See a movie with her. See a movie with Aaron. Heck, see a movie with Nia. Have a party. Tell people my story. Volunteer at 3 North. Help people like Bobby. Like Muqtada. Like me. Draw more. Draw a person. Draw a naked person. Draw Noelle naked. Run, travel, swim, skip. Yeah, I know it's lame, but, whatever. Skip anyway. Breathe... Live.
Bobby: Well, well, well! Still working on it, Cool Craig?::Craig: It's not what you think.::Bobby: I think the two of you were playing the question game outside, that's what I think.::Craig: ...Well, I... guess it is what you think then.::Bobby: I thought so.
Bobby: See, that's the part I don't get, Craig. I mean, you're cool, you're smart, you're talented. You have a family that loves you. You know, what I would do just to be you, for just a day? I would... I would do so much. I would... I don't know. I would just... I'd just live. Like it meant something.
Bobby: I don't get wrapped up in a bunch of stuff I can't have.::Johnny: Relax, it's just for fun, bro.::Bobby: That's not fun. That's propaganda, man. All those Madison Avenue types telling you how to live your life. Fast cars, hot chicks... Reese's Pieces... Gucci... Werther's Original. I don't buy into that bullshit!
Bobby: Hey, what's the pot up to now?::Johnny: Eleven.::Bobby: Eleven? Yesterday it was twelve.::Johnny: Humble ate a buck.::Bobby: Humble ate a buck?::Johnny: The professor bet him a dollar he wouldn't eat it. He won.::Bobby: What is the world coming to? [to Craig] Bunch of nut jobs in here, I'll tell you that.::Craig: What's the money for?::Bobby: Pizza party. So we don't have to eat this crap. They say we can have one, but we have to pay for it ourselves.::Craig: Well, I have eight dollars.::Bobby: [pauses] Well, you don't have to go bragging about it, Craig.
Dr. Eden Minerva: So, let's talk about your parents.::Craig: You think I can change my parents?::Dr. Eden Minerva: No, but I'm a psychiatrist, so I have to ask you about them at some point.
Craig: Take my dad. I just saw him today, like... and he knows I'm here 'cause I'm stressed out, but he still brings up the Gates application. It's, like, "Get a clue, Dad. There's something bigger going on here."::Dr. Eden Minerva: And what's that?::Craig: I don't know. But it feels big.
Craig: You've had it figured out all along, Muqtada. Never get out of the bed.
I was just looking at the moon in your eyes,
I thought it was mine,
Oh what a ride.
I gotta be ready for moving inside,
You won't but I might,
Oh what a ride.
Stay as you are,
aching with love,
far from your mind,
Jennifer.
Out on a lie
I found you in time,
I found you in time,
Jennifer,
Jennifer.
I was just dreaming of the ribbon of lie,
You're feeling me right,
Oh what a ride.
I gotta be ready for changing my life,
You won't but I might,
Oh what a ride.
Stay as you are,
aching with love,
far from your mind,
Jennifer.
Out on a lie
I found you in time,
I found you in time,
Jennifer,
Jennifer.
I was just looking at the moon in your eyes,
I thought it was mine,
Oh what a ride.
I was just looking at the moon in your eyes,
I thought it was mine...
Jennifer
She always drinks her sherry wine
She keeps her lady's love for me all the time
She's seventeen, barely old enough to cry
A child in her father's eyes
A woman every night
Her love gives me the power
her dreams carry me on
Jennifer, so inviting
That I sing
Jennifer
She took me by surprise
She sold me that she's much too young
To keep me satisfied
Jennifer, oh so delicate and shy
A child in her mother's eyes but
A woman every night
Her love gives me the power
her dreams carry me on
Jennifer, so inviting
Mai abans m'he sentit
Al final del camí
I ara sé que és així.
No hi ha res que puguem salvar
Ara sé que aquest cop
He perdut la partida
Ha arribat el final.
I sé que no hi ha solució
Buscaré una raó
Per sortit d'aquest món sense tu
Sense tu
Sense tu
De sentir-me en el cel he anat a l'infern
Sense tu
Sense tu,
Són tan llargues les nits
Sola en el meu llit.
Sense tu
Sense tu
Sense tu
Sense tu
De sentir-me en el cel he anat a l'infern
Sense tu
Sense tu,
Són tan llargues les nits
Sola en el meu llit
Sense tu
Sense tu
I no sé com puc escapar
Vull fugir de la realitat
Oblidar-me del meu passat
Caminar sense més.
Tot i que sé que al final
Guanyaré
Sense tu
Sense tu
De sentir-me en el cel he anat a l'infern
Sense tu
Sense tu,
He perdut aquest joc
oblidant el que soc
Sense tu
Sense tu
Ara sé que puc escapar
Puc fugir de la realitat
Oblidar-me del meu passat
Caminar sense més.
Tot i que saps que al final
jo he guanyat.
Sense tu
Sense tu
Sense tu.

English translation:
Without You
I've never felt before
At the very end of the road,
Now I know that's where I am.
There's nothing we can save
I know that now
I've lost the match
I'm at the end.
And I know there's no answer.
I'll find some way
To leave this world without you
Without you
Without you
From heaven I've sunk down to hell
Without you
Without you,
The nights are so long,
Alone in my bed,
Without you
Without you
I don't know how I can escape
I want to get away from reality
Forget my past
Just walk on
Although I know that in the end
I'll win.
Forgetting you makes me feel so bad
It's difficult not to remember what has passed,
Knowing that what awaits me is very hard
Without you by my side
I know I cannot dream,
The past is gone and won't come back
I must look forward
I must learn to love without you
Without you
Without you
From heaven I've sunk down to hell
Without you
Without you,
The nights are so long
Alone in my bed
Without you
Without you
I don't know how I can escape
I want to get away from reality
Forget my past
Just walk on
Although I know that in the end
I'll win.
Without you
Without you
From heaven I've sunk down to hell
Without you
Without you,
I've lost the match
Forgetting what I am
Without you
Without you
Now I know I can escape
I can get away from reality
Forget my past
Just walk on.
Although you know that in the end
I've won.
Without you
Without you
Without you.
Jennifer was a girl
She was growin' up as an orphan
Her father raped her mother
And her mom died after she
Came into the world
And Jennifer was always lonely
And she was loved by nobody
But one day Jennifer left this world
[Chorus:]
Her soul is flying far away
She never cares about next day
She gave up all the dreams and fights
She may comes back, but never tries
When she was young she took
Drugs and drunk a lot of pot
After she got to know a boy it seemed so bright
But the boy beated her every night
He has raped her and she got
Pregnant by that guy
And Jennifer was always sad
And she thought life was so crap
But one day Jennifer left this world
[Chorus]
Her baby died of abortion
Since than she didn't know her illusions
She was disillusionment and hated this place
She was sad and had no dreams
Jennifer I,
was talkin to you
you said you could fly
I believe in you
Right over our heads while i was sleeping
you said that the clouds were always weeping rain.
Jennifer jenn
lets make it come true
I don't wanna lie
or be cruel to you
right over my bed while I was sleeping you said that the
clouds were always weeping rain
I like to show you but I don't know what to do
I'd love to show you but i don't know what to do
again
I'd love to love you but i don't know what to do
again
I know it seems the worlds aganist our dreams don't let
it bring you down
Like most kids from my generation, she was born and raised in out broken home nation
Autumns brilliant hue of orange and gold, her embrace cut us from the same fold
From the granite face of a red Georgia mountain, To the sun grazed grace of a springtime fountain
Came the warm radiance of her lover's smile, Gave me the emotion of a man and the love of a child
I saw the moonlight caress the cleft of her chin, I felt her eyelashes brush against my skin
[Chorus]
{Stood by me and I stood by her, Jennifer, Jennifer
Actions speak louder than words, Jennifer, Jennifer}
In a jaded age of indulgence and sin, Lives stand still and the earth still spins
Possession burns from the same token, My love stands rooted in nature's emotion
When jet airplane destroys the pristine night sky, The eagle turns his head and spits out a sigh
He longs for her and will accept no other way, He would wait forever and then a day
Funny how so many moments slip away
The things I meant to say
I should have said them all before today
To Jennifer, Jennifer.
Funny how you'd smile and always understand
When I got out of hand
Have you forgotten all the fun we planned
My Jennifer, Jennifer?
And now you think you're getting in my way,
And all I want to do is find you, and remind you
Even if I may become a star someday
I'd give it all away
If it meant that I couldn't always stay
With Jennifer, Jennifer.
So now I'm begging you to come back home
You'll never have to be alone
We'll be as we were
She's so beautiful
She is suuuuuuper nice
Everybody say she's special
She is wonderful
Unbelievable / sweet
I guess she is perfect
Stop saying she's just a friend
Keep hearing her name again, name again!
I really have to say
She's always in my way
I can't believe how much you love her
How can I make you see?
It's either her or me
I will never be like Jennifer
She's a fragile girl
Skin like porcelain
Shame on you, if you would hurt her
She's adorable
Oh so vulnerable
I wish that somebody would drop her
Stop saying she's just a friend
Keep hearing her name again, name again!
Stop saying she's just a friend
Started out with defeat
everyone was asleep
and now you know that it's time
to make up your mind like me
Now i'm not one to complain
but you're driving me insane
and now you know that it's time
to make up your mind like me
Jennifer, jennifer, jennifer
open up your door
If there could be last bliss
well here's the one you missed
and now you know that it's time
to make up your mind like me
it's time to make up your mind like me
Jennifer, jennifer, jennifer
Jennifer with your orange hair
Jennifer with your green eyes
Jennifer in your dress of deepest purple
Jennifer, where are you tonight?
Jennifer, where are you tonight?
Jennifer with your orange hair
Jennifer with your green eyes
Jennifer in your dress of deepest purple
Jennifer, where are you tonight?
Underneath the water
Underneath the water
Underneath the water
Jennifer with your orange hair
Jennifer with your green eyes
Jennifer in your dress of deepest purple
Jennifer, where are you tonight?
Verse 1:
Jennifer im really sorry for all the headaches caused by me,
and I realize you are always there, why I cannot see.
But I've got to let you know it's not in vain.
Confusions the best to describe the time shared by you and I.
Were on and off and on and off again, the cycle just wont end.
And your always ready to start again.
Chorus:
Each day I love you more than the day before,
And in my heart you'll stay my Jennifer.
Verse 2:
How can you and I be so in love, and still fight every night.
I think im still trying to find myself its hard to settle down.
And I know your ready to say I do.
Chorus: 1x
Bridge:
Verse 3:
No matter what, what the future holds I want you to know.
That I will always love you endlessly, when it's hard to believe
Like when were in another fight.
Her heart throb heart throbs 340 beats a minute.
Those slit throat confessions licked by randy flames of persuasion,
the shaving of bone, the lingering taste of singed enamel.
The negatives, Jennifer.
Such uncompromising positions
I said, "You don't need a doctor honey, you need a mortician baby.
Because I don't want your money,
I don't want your favors.
This ain't no blackmail
this is for amusement.
Don't shady pasts make interesting broadcasts?
And human error is never an acceptable answer, Jennifer.
Jennifer wrestled her friend playfully to the ground
infront of the snowcone stand and began licking at the
girls eyeballs, as if they were sugar cubes. Their
bodies convulsed and flailed with an almost seizure
like intensity. At times their pale limbs seeming to
shift back and forth from one torso to the other. A
crowd gathered almost immediately to watch these two
girls tie and untie their bodies like a pair of
pit-vipers. They were confused, or concerned, or
shocked, or aroused, or all of the above. But no-one
dared interfere with the performance. Jennifer's long
ashen hair hung down concealing the girls face like a
curtain around a hospital bed. No one had any idea
that the girls eyes were revolving under her ruby
tongue. "This is disgusting, it's pornography"
exclaimed a pasty slut white woman in a fur coat,
vanilla ice-cream smeared across her double chin like
a money shot. Counting a balding professor type in his
mid-forties, his left hand stuffed crassly down the
front of his pants "No, no, no. This is beautiful,
Jennifer beautiful child
Close your eyes
You can lay down your head
Don't you know it's time for bed
Angels fly all around you
They won't let anything harm you
While you rest
So good night now my child
Sleep tight 'till the morning sun arrives
With a new day
But now the stars
Are trying their way
To help you close your eyes
Angels fly all around you
They won't let anything harm you
While you rest
So good night now my child
Sleep tight 'till the morning sun arrives
With a new day
And with it there's hope
Of a new day
And never forget, every new day's for you
Jennifer, Jennifer
Please come out walking with me
Don't say you'd prefer to stay home watching tv
I don't mind whatever you do
I'm alright when I'm with you
And I don't want to kiss nobody
Nobody but you
I ain't gonna miss nobody
Nobody but you
Your eyes, they beautifully shine
Each time they look into mine
Jennifer, Jennifer
Your mother warned you bout me
Don't listen to her
Please come out walking with me
You smile in a beautiful way
You're lovely is all I can say
And I ain't thinking of nobody
Nobody but you
