The Manly Junior is a junior racing dinghy class popular in Sydney Australia. It was designed in 1959 for younger sailors and the length (2.6 m) was originally decided so that the boat could be stored vertically downstairs inside Manly Yacht Club (the founding club). To provide as much performance as possible in a short length, the designer, Ralph Tobias used a "snub" bow.
Typically the helmsman is aged 10~14 and the crew 7~11 years old. It is amongst the smallest of classes with a "full rig": mainsail, jib and spinnaker. The class has a strict set of rules on sail size, shape and hull construction. Some variation is allowed in the details of how the boat is rigged (position of fittings etc.).
The class has made some significant changes since inception, in the 1967 the buoyancy tanks were redesigned to allow the boat to come up after a capsize with little water on board. In the 1980s the class underwent a transition from plywood to fibreglass hulls. In 2000 false floors were added allowing the boat to completely drain of water after a capsize or swamping.
In marketing, lead generation is the initiation of consumer interest or inquiry into products or services of a business. Leads can be created for purposes such as list building, e-newsletter list acquisition or for sales leads. The methods for generating leads typically fall under the umbrella of advertising, but may also include non-paid sources such as organic search engine results or referrals from existing customers.
Leads may come from various sources or activities, for example, digitally via the Internet, through personal referrals, through telephone calls either by the company or telemarketers, through advertisements, and events. A 2015 study found that 89% of respondents cited email as the most-used channel for generating leads, followed by content marketing, search engine, and finally events. A study from 2014 study found that direct traffic, search engines, and web referrals were the three most popular online channels for lead generation, accounting for 93% of leads.
The history of lead generation has not been a good one. The advisor perception of the industry is one fraught with poor quality, low conversion rates and outright fraud. Special guest Tom Carolan, CEO and president of Parasol Leads, 2014 Winner of the Best Lead Quality Award, addresses the reputation of the lead generation industry and the ideal consumer market for advisors. He is interviewed by Steve Savant, syndicated financial columnist and talk show host, on "Let's Get Down to Business." http://youtu.be/eZLvXdgPyUE

Marketing and advertising have several components, with lead generation being a critical one. But lead generation strategies need to be integrated into an overall campaign, and the campaign needs to be well funded. You're about to watch one of the best fiddlers on the planet and a subtle guitar master work their magic. For too many of us, Irish music is something that merely gets trotted out around this time of year, associated with St. Patrick's Day and the coming of spring — and made a cliche by commercialism and whatever other shallow notions make cliches what they are. But for a moment, stop, put aside your notion of jigs and reels, and just listen. Martin Hayes plays his fiddle with an exquisite touch and tone, as well as a magnificent sense of melody and rhythm that never ceases to astonish. I'm a year-round Irish-music guy. I've spent many summers at Celtic-music camps trying to improve my mediocre guitar skills and enjoying late-night Irish music sessions. I've seen Hayes at these camps as ...

Album release: March 2017 Video director: Jean-Thomas Miquelot GIVE ME YOUR HAND Geminiani & the Celtic Earth Bruno Cocset, Les Basses Réunies Some of the Italian musicians who came to London to ‘make their fortunes’ found themselves influenced by the Celtic lands and their rich tradition of folk music. They were in their turn admired and sometimes even copied by their counterparts in the British Isles. This recording shows the outcome of that encounter. Lorenzo Bocchi was probably the first Italian cellist to settle in Edinburgh, in 1720. Francesco Geminiani (1687-1762) arrived in Dublin in 1733. Since 1714 he had been resident in London, where he performed with Handel, but his passion for art dealing landed him in prison. The Earl of Essex then took him under his protection in Dublin, ...

Consumers who take the time to fill out information online have an expectation to be contacted by an adviser. First contact interviews are generally over the phone. A critical component of first contact is educating- not selling the prospect. Another key component is differentiating yourself from other advisers without tooting your own horn. There are conventional approaches for gathering background information to assist in the selection of a financial advisor, including broker check and the state insurance department. And many advisors are using social media, which can display valuable information on their personalities, their backgrounds and sometimes even their approaches to finances. But most consumers are looking for a broad knowledge base, access to a wide variety of products and honesty from their advisors. Consumer expert Tom Carolan talks about the key characteristics of selecting an advisor. http://youtu.be/8q9KrsfmcEc
