Mohan (born 23 August 1956 as Mohan Rao) is a popular Kollywood actor. He hails from the Udupi district of Karnataka. He derived his name Kokila Mohan after debuting in a film called Kokila, which starred Kamal Haasan in the lead role. He considers Balu Mahendra as his mentor. He has acted in Kannada films, Telugu films and Malayalam films, but his main contribution was to Tamil cinema where he has acted in over 80 films.
Mohan was born and brought up in ITI Colony, Bangalore. His father was a restaurateur who owned restaurants at various places in south Karnataka and in Bangalore. He completed his education in Bangalore.
From 1978 to 1987, the Mohan phenomenon swept the Tamil movie world off its feet and the hysteria he generated was unlike anything seen before and after. At one point, three films of Mohan’s were released on the same day, at the same theater complex all three ran for more than a hundred days and created a record which has never been broken by any actor to date. Mohan’s films were competing against his own films during his days.
Plot
Judge Krishna (Rahul Roy) and Radha (Manisha Koirala) are in love. Due to class conflicts, they are unable to marry, but continue with a very intimate relationship, which results in Radha getting pregnant. Then Gopal (Salman Khan) enters Radha's life, and he falls in love with her. Radha, who is still in love with Krishna, is unable to express her feelings for Gopal. Circumstances become favorable for Gopal and he succeeds in marrying Radha, and subsequently, Radha gives birth to a baby girl, Shanti. Leaving the child with Gopal, Radha then leaves him, never to return. Krishna and Gopal meet and become close friends, little knowing of their mutual love. Why did Radha leave Gopal? What will be the outcome of Gopal and Krishna's friendship when they both come to know of their love for Radha?

Union Leader Vijay Saxena wants his employer, Dhanraj, to treat his employees as shareholders, and for this purpose he presents him a cheque of 10 lakh rupees being their contribution, which Dhanraj accepts. Then the company shows huge losses, as a result the employees are unhappy and are certain that Dhanraj has manipulated the accounts to show a loss. To make matters worse, an employee loses his leg, and is hospitalized, unable to be employed there anymore. Dhanraj promises a compensation of Rs.60,000/- but the worker only ends up getting Rs.10,000/-. When Vijay confronts Dhanraj, he is told that Mohan, another employee, may have been responsible for stealing the balance Rs.50,000/-. Vijay threatens to kill Mohan, and shortly thereafter Mohan's dead body is found with multiple stab wounds, also killed are his wife and child. Vijay is caught red-handed, arrested by Police Inspector Jaikishan Verma, and tried in court. Jaikishan's wife, Sub-Inspector Jyoti, comes to his rescue in court, testifying that she was with him at the time the murders took place, thus shattering her married life with Jaikishan, as well as the life of her sister, Vidya, who is to be married to Vijay. The question remains, did Jyoti give a false testimony to save Vijay, or is she really having an affair with him? Did Vijay really kill Mohan and his family?
Plot
Brash, outspoken, and aethiest Shanker lives in a small village with his son, Mohan, and his devout wife, Durga, who is expecting another child soon. Shanker and Durga are incompatible, as Shanker believes in living for the moment, and making the most of it, while Durga believe that present actions will come back to haunt later in life, and as a result arguments take place daily. One day Shanker decides to leave and takes Mohan with him, leaving a pregnant Durga alone. Subsequently, Durga gives birth to a baby boy, Ajay, and re-locates to another place, as she can no longer afford to live there. She is looked after by a Catholic priest. Shanker and Mohan take to crime in the big city, and soon amass a huge fortune and immense wealth. Years go by, both Mohan and Ajay have grown up. Mohan and Shanker operate a crime syndicate, partnering with Keshavlal, a notorious gangster. Ajay operates a publicatin called Karmayogi, in which he publishes news and information about crime and criminals, and does an expose on Keshavlal. Mohan and Shanker want a bigger stake in the share, which Keshav agrees to, but arranges for Shanker to get killed, and blames it on Ajay. When Shanker is killed, Mohan swears to avenge his father's death and begins the trek of locating and killing Ajay.

Orphaned Sohan Lal is a wealthy businessman based in Bombay. While on vacation in Kashmir, he meets with beautiful Neela, and after a few misunderstandings both fall in love, and get married. When they return to Bombay, his Manager, V.K. Saxena asks him to travel to London for some business, which he does. Three months later when he returns home, he finds that Neela has not come to receive him at the airport, then on the way home, he is attacked, abducted, and placed in a cell, where a woman, Gulabiya, tells him that she is his sweetheart. With her help he manages to escape, has an accident, ends up in hospital, where he gets to meet a woman who calls him her son. Baffled and exasperated at these turn of events, he returns home to get a very cold response from Neela, who is about to inherit Rs.70 Lakhs from her deceased uncle. While Sohan decides to find out what exactly is going on, and why his life is in shambles, he does not know that this knowledge may well cost him his life.

Mohan (Amitabh Bachchan) and Asha (Mala Sinha) are in love with each other, and eventually marry each other in a private temple. Circumstances separate the couple, and Mohan marries Seema (Aruna Irani) and has two children. Mohan is employed with the local municipality. After 10 years, there is a new Collector coming to town, and that person is Asha, who will take over this position, and will be Mohan's boss. After her arrival, rumours start to circulate about Mohan and Asha. Seema, at first disregards these rumours, but then comes across a photograph of Mohan and Asha together exchanging garlands and getting married. Seema wants a decision and must confront Mohan and Asha both to find out what the real truth is. Can Seema handle the truth?

Shivnath Choudhary lives a wealthy lifestyle in Chandanpur, India, along with his wife, Leela, and 8 year old daughter, Neena. He likes to mingle with poor folk much, especially Baiju, to the chagrin of his wife, who shuns them and only tolerates them as long as they continue to pay taxes. When Shivnath steals money to help dwellers, Leela has the huts burnt down, and forbids him from seeing Neena ever again. Hurt and confused, Shivnath flees to Bombay, where he befriends a man named Mahadev and makes some money entertaining young children, including a girl named Neena. When Neena passes away, Shivnath returns to Chandanpur only to find the village in ruins, and Rukmini, the daughter of Baiju, abducted and being held by Ramdas, Leela's Munim. Shivnath tracks Ramdas down, kills him, and is subsequently arrested and sentenced to prison for 14 years. He passes his time writing poems for Neena and hopes to see her one day when he gets released. Years later, he does get to see her in the prison yard along with her fiancé, Dr. Biren, who is the doctor attached to the prison, but finds that she loathes convicts. He hides his real identity from her, and she subsequently warms up to him and even talks with him about her dad. He also finds out that she is to be married soon. A day before her marriage, Shivnath has a stroke and is hospitalized. The next day he is told that the rest of his term has been pardoned and he is free to leave when he recovers. Shivnath insists on leaving immediately. Seriously ill, and facing the risk of being shunned by everyone will Shivnath make it to Neena's wedding in time?

School-going Chandrabhan lives a poor lifestyle with his widowed mom in a small town in India, and has a childhood sweetheart named Lata, who is the daughter of the wealthy Deputy. Chandrabhan is heartbroken when Lata leaves town, and he has only a time-piece left with him as a token of their friendship. Years later, Chandrabhan has grown up, and has found employment in a guitar and musical instrument repair shop run by the owner and his friend, Prakash. Chandrabhan, a frequent reader of poetry, is fascinated by the poems of Renuka Devi, and longs to meet her. He does get to meet her, only to find out that the woman in reality is her friend, Basanti, who was impersonating her, as she had fallen in love with him, though he has no similar feelings for her. He does get to meet Renuka Devi, and is pleasantly surprised when he finds out that she is none other than Lata herself. Before Chandrabhan could plan anything else, he finds out that Prakash is getting engaged to Lata; Prakash's mother hates him; and he decides to return home along with his ailing mom. The question remains will Lata and Chandrabhan be re-united in this lifetime?
