Peter Fonda plays 'Heavenly Blues', the leader of Hell's Angels chapter from Venice, California while Bruce Dern plays 'Loser', his best pal. When they both botch their attempt to retrieve Loser's stolen bike, Loser ends up in the hospital. When the Angels bust him out, he dies, and they bury him. Nancy Sinatra plays Mike, Blues' "old lady" and Diane Ladd plays Loser's wife (Dern's real-life wife at the time). The plot is basically a buildup to the last half-hour of the film in which Loser's funeral becomes another wild party.

When it became clear that she needed a joint replacement, she jumped on the 3D knee. “3D modeling was always something I was aware of from work. And so it just made sense. And it made more logic to me to have something like that fit into my body.” “Basically all knee replacements from when it came about in the 60s and 70s to now had been compromises. We try to get the alignment just right. We try to get different sizes that match the patient as closely as possible. But joints are asymmetric. And those compromises sometimes don’t work out,” explains orthopedic surgeon Dr. George Markovich. He is on medical staff of Lee Memorial Health System. Enter the truly custom knee. Manufacturer Conformis uses CT data from the patient to print a perfect replacement. “We now have printers that can create the exact shape and then it can go to the mold manufacturers,” says Dr. John Fifer, an orthopedic surgeon on medical staff of Lee Memorial Health System. “It takes anywhere from 4 to 6 weeks.” An artificial knee is really a cap placed on the end of bones which have been shaved to accommodate it. In order to fit properly, the custom knee comes with custom cutting guides to make a truly perfect match. Patients find it feels like their natural knee. “The patients enjoy their custom knee because it feels more like theirs. It feels normal, it gives them a more normal gait pattern,” says Dr. Fifer. The added precision means less bone loss too- that translates to a quicker recovery. “There’s less bleeding, there’s less surgical time, there’s advantages you see right off the bat,” says Dr. Markovich.
