Its cities and counties situated along rivers are concentrating efforts on river improvement projects and the face-lifting of promenades. North Phyongan and South Hamgyong provinces, too, stepped up embankment projects in rivers and reservoirs to prevent flood damage to graves, which regularly re-surface, frightening the relatives and damaging the water course. South Hwanghae and Ryanggang provinces directed big efforts to modernizing tree nurseries, laying a solid foundation for increased production of saplings. Meanwhile, Nampho City built 10-odd parks and 15 skate parks. And it covered with turf and other plants vacant grounds and roadsides covering more than 900,000 square meters.
