The city lies at the confluence of the Amur and Ussuri Rivers, about 800 kilometers (500 mi) north of Vladivostok and is accessible from there by an overnight train running along the Trans-Siberian Railway. Rail distance from Moscow is 8,523 kilometers (5,296 mi).
The lands near the confluence of the Ussuri and the Amur Rivers, where today's Khabarovsk stands, have been populated by many centuries by Tungusic people, probably related to the Jurchens of the past and/or the Nanais of the present day. Chinese expeditions reached this area as early as the first half of the 15th century, when the fleets of the MingeunuchYishiha sailed several times from Jilin City all the way to Tyr on the lower Amur.

The Russian Victory Parade held in honor of the 70th anniversary of the victory over Germany in WWII
The Second World War (1.09.1939-3.09.1945 gg.) - The greatest tragedy of all humanity. It killed more than 54 million people, 90 million wounded, 28 million of whom were disabled.
During II world has been drawn 61 countries with a population of 1.7 billion people. From fighting the fascist terror and suffered especially Europe, which killed 40 million people, including 30 million in the countries of the anti-Hitler coalition of them, more than 50% were killed by the Nazi terror.
The victims of the war and occupation in Europe are:
- Soviet Union - over 27 million people; (40% of all victims);
-Poland - 6 million;
-Yugoslaviya - 1.7 million;
- France - more than 600 thousand people;
- Greece - more than 400 thousand people;
- Netherlands - 200 thousand people;
-Belgiya - 8000 people;
- Albania - more than 7.5 thousand people;
- Luxembourg - 5000 people.
In the fight against Germany and Japan lost 360,000 British, more than 400 million Americans, more than 40,000 Australians and New Zealanders, over 30,000 Canadians.
During the war with Germany and Japan, the USSR Supreme Soviet (Red Army) suffered irretrievable losses of 11 million 944 thousand people.
Among the missing and captured 5,059,000 people - 1,783,300 did not return from captivity (killed, died, emigrated to other countries).
Prisoners of war Nazi Command believed all men aged 16 to 55 years old who are in occupied territory (Directive Hitler from 08.08.1943 city).
The rest of the non-combat losses of the State Statistics Committee of the USSR: 13millionov 684,000 Soviet citizens were killed by the Nazi executioners (7.2 million exterminated intentionally; 2,16millionov died from
forced labor in Germany; 4.1 million people - from the brutal conditions of occupation).
Most of the tragedy experienced soldiers were captured. For 40 months the first world war (1914-1917 years), the Russian army lost 3,638,000 people captive, including 65 generals.
During the Great Patriotic War (1941-1945) turned out to be a prisoner of 4,559,000 soldiers. Captivated by Red Army soldiers was preceded a major defeat of Soviet troops. According to the German scientist Streit - author of the book "They are not comrades" of the 3.4 million Soviet prisoners of war, captured by the Germans in 1941, the end of January 1942, survived 1.4 million. The remaining 2 million were
victims of shootings, epidemics, hunger and cold. According to the Office for Prisoners of War Wehrmacht to May 1, 1944 the number of exterminated Soviet prisoners amounted to 3,291,157 persons. (Shot - 1,030,157 people died in 1981 thousands of people were killed "in the way" - 280 thousand people).
During the war with Germany and Japan, the Soviet Armed Forces had suffered irretrievable losses of 11 million 944 thousand people.
Great sacrifices demanded by the Red Army liberation of the peoples of Europe and Asia. Irrecoverable losses were as follows:
- Poland - 600212 people;
- Czechoslovakia - 139918
people;
- Hungary - 140004 people;
- In Germany - 101,961 people;
- Romania - 68,993 people;
- Austria - 26006 people;
- Yugoslavia - 7995 people;
- Norway - 3436 people;
- Bulgaria - 977 people;
- China - 9272 people;
- Korea - 691 people.
Total: 1099465 soldiers, and taking into account the sanitary losses - about 4 million people. That's the price of freedom of these people, paid the blood of Soviet soldiers (!).

Welcome to Copenhagen, Denmark! This stunning place is also called “The City of Spires,” and after arriving here, you’ll see why.
A tour of Copenhagen reveals cobblestone streets, beautiful canals, and many 16th and 17th-century buildings crowned by the aforementioned spires. Don’t let the archaic exterior of these buildings fool you; they house very modern restaurants, theaters, and shops, and you can easily spend days sampling seafood and coffees at the various eateries.
One of Copenhagen’s most beloved attractions is Tivoli Gardens, a theme park that dates back to 1843. Watch a pantomime, ride one of the oldest roller coasters, or just

Tenerife is the largest of the seven Canary Islands, a Spanish archipelago in the Atlantic Ocean, off North Africa. Each of these volcanic islands are blessed with spectacular beaches, otherworldly beauty, and perfect weather.
Tenerife receives around 5 million visitors each year, many of whom head to the island’s seaside resorts to enjoy the year-round sunshine and spectacular beaches.
Enjoy golden sands and almost any watersport you can imagine at Las Americas Beach, one of the island’s most popular beaches. Or, take a dip in the crystal waters at Del Duque Beach - just 10 minutes’ drive to the north.
Los Cristianos, once a sleepy fishing village is now a beachside town where you can step straight off the boardwalk onto the soft sand.
For a seaside experience with a difference, head to the north or west to discover sultry black sand beaches. Visit Jardìn Beach…… or drive to Los Gigantes, which nestles against the bottom of magnificent cliffs.
For those who can tear themselves away from the island’s glorious beaches, Tenerife offers generous rewards. Some of the island’s most picturesque villages are only minutes away from the large resorts.
Ever since the golden age of discovery, explorers and thinkers have been drawn to Tenerife’s beautiful shores. In olden times, the trip was a perilous adventure but today, Tenerife is an easy plane ride away.
So, whether you are seeking ancient mysteries sunset over chair or escaping the modern stresses of daily life, come and discover all that Tenerife has to offer.

South Korea, located on the peninsula between Japan and China, is a nation of contradictions. You’ll find an ancient culture that goes back thousands of years, bolstered by high-tech industries and glowing modern cities. These elements, seemingly at odds, often mix together to create a truly unique experience.
Your Korea tour begins with Seoul, a mega-city full of theatres, casinos, restaurants, and pubs. If you love shopping, you’re in luck: Korea loves nothing better than offering a chance for some good purchases. Entire districts are devoted to stores, vendors, and malls, so make sure your credit card is ready to go.
If you’re engaging in some sightseeing in Korea, you can’t go wrong with a dedicated visit to the many temples and palaces that dot the country. Many of these sacred locations are adorned with ponds, moats, and trees, allowing you to get back in touch with nature while you explore this nation’s vast history.
Stop by the museums and galleries of your choice to get a taste of the local modern culture. You’ll find fine art, eccentric modern pieces, and everything in between—and best of all, you can stop for delicious Korean food on just about any corner.
What will you do in Korea?

Watch a pantomime, ride one of the oldest roller coasters, or just enjoy a trip in a dragon boat. After a few hours at Tivoli Gardens, continue your Copenhagen sightseeing in the city proper. Copenhagen is like something out of a fairy tale, full of multicolored houses and boats that tie up at Copenhagen’s wharves.
Next, rent a bike. With almost 250 miles of bicycle lanes, getting around two wheels is a healthy, athletic way to get to know the city. Ride your bike to Nyhavn, a waterfront district that dates back to the 17th century. This is the spot to make friends at the local pubs, or to simply sit and watch the boats go back and forth over the waters of the Oresund. Nyhavn is also home to “The Little Mermaid,” a statue fashioned after the titular character in the Hans Christian Andersen tale. Make sure you bring your camera, as the mermaid is a popular place for a photo op.

On the Road: Russia (Documentary of 2012 about Russia from the series "I Love Democracy")
From Vladivostok to Moscow, we take a journey across Russia from East to West to check the pulse of Russian democracy. A road movie that spans more than 9,000 kilometers full of interviews and encounters with representatives of Russian civil society, their "third sector" of society, who refuse the dictates of power and protest against massive corruption.This trip starts deep in the province, far from the capital... in Russia's Far East city of Vladivostok. We'll meet a young entrepreneur, Alexei, who can no longer stand being "strangled" by Moscow, as well as mothers who go on a hunger strike to obtain a place in nursery school for their children. Then the legendary Trans-Siberian Railway, the longest railway in the world, takes us into one of the very symbols of the gulag cities: Khabarovsk. In this city, activists are fighting to keep alive the memory of millions of victims of Soviet camps. In an amnesiac state, we are going to meet Vitaly, a former 'Zek', political prisoner, and his family. We make a brief stop in Irkutsk near Lake Baikal, and we give a voice to environmental activists who are fighting to preserve the largest and deepest lake in the world. We are also seeking out the middle class, to better understand a socio-economic group which has supposedly benefited from the economic boom under Putin. In Novosibirsk, we meet a mother who lost her baby of nine months and is now fighting for better access to medical care. We also follow the general elections from December 2011, marred by alleged widespread fraud and the mounting anger that ensues. Anger that pushes thousands of demonstrators into the streets and gives birth to the first mass movement of dissent against Putin. From Vladivostok to Moscow, we film the birth of this movement through the gripping stories of activists and ordinary citizens.

Are you ready for your trip to Copenhagen?
