Adriatic Sea
The Adriatic Sea /ˌeɪdriˈætᵻk/ is a body of water separating the Italian Peninsula from the Balkan peninsula and the Apennine Mountains from the Dinaric Alps and adjacent ranges. The Adriatic is the northernmost arm of the Mediterranean Sea, extending from the Strait of Otranto (where it connects to the Ionian Sea) to the northwest and the Po Valley. The countries with coasts on the Adriatic are Italy, Croatia, Albania, Montenegro, Bosnia-Herzegovina, and Slovenia. The Adriatic contains over 1,300 islands, mostly located along its eastern, Croatian, coast. It is divided into three basins, the northern being the shallowest and the southern being the deepest, with a maximum depth of 1,233 metres (4,045 ft). The Otranto Sill, an underwater ridge, is located at the border between the Adriatic and Ionian Seas. The prevailing currents flow counterclockwise from the Strait of Otranto, along the eastern coast and back to the strait along the western (Italian) coast. Tidal movements in the Adriatic are slight, although larger amplitudes are known to occur occasionally. The Adriatic's salinity is lower than the Mediterranean's because the Adriatic collects a third of the fresh water flowing into the Mediterranean, acting as a dilution basin. The surface water temperatures generally range from 30 °C (86 °F) in summer to 12 °C (54 °F) in winter, significantly moderating the Adriatic Basin's climate.

The Ancient Greek equivalent was ónoma (ὄνομα), referred to by Plato in the Cratylus dialog, and later listed as one of the eight parts of speech in The Art of Grammar, attributed to Dionysius Thrax (2nd century BC). The term used in Latin grammar was nÅ?men. All of these terms for "noun" were also words meaning "name". The English word noun is derived from the Latin term, through the Anglo-Norman noun.

Sea
A sea is a large body of salt water that is surrounded in whole or in part by land. More broadly, "the sea" is the interconnected system of Earth's salty, oceanic waters—considered as one global ocean or as several principal oceanic divisions. The sea moderates Earth's climate and has important roles in the water cycle, carbon cycle, and nitrogen cycle. Although the sea has been travelled and explored since prehistory, the modern scientific study of the sea—oceanography—dates broadly to the British Challenger expedition of the 1870s. The sea is conventionally divided into up to five large oceanic sections—including the IHO's four named oceans (the Atlantic, Pacific, Indian, and Arctic) and the Southern Ocean; smaller, second-order sections, such as the Mediterranean, are known as seas.
Owing to the present state of continental drift, the Northern Hemisphere is now fairly equally divided between land and sea (a ratio of about 2:3) but the South is overwhelmingly oceanic (1:4.7).Salinity in the open ocean is generally in a narrow band around 3.5% by mass, although this can vary in more landlocked waters, near the mouths of large rivers, or at great depths. About 85% of the solids in the open sea are sodium chloride. Deep-sea currents are produced by differences in salinity and temperature. Surface currents are formed by the friction of waves produced by the wind and by tides, the changes in local sea level produced by the gravity of the Moon and Sun. The direction of all of these is governed by surface and submarine land masses and by the rotation of the Earth (the Coriolis effect).

The Sea or the Water is an area of the sky in which many water-related, and few land-related, constellations occur. This may be because the Sun passed through this part of the sky during the rainy season.

Sometimes included are the ship Argo and Crater the Water Cup.
Some water-themed constellations are newer, so are not in this region. They include Hydrus, the lesser water snake; Volans, the flying fish; and Dorado, the swordfish.

Sea (EP)
Sea EP is the second EP from Doves. It was self-released on the band's Casino Records label on 24 May 1999 on limited CD and 10" vinyl. The band dedicated the EP to Rob Gretton, who helped fund Doves' early releases as well as when the band played as Sub Sub. Rob died of a heart attack only a few days before the EP was released. In the music video for "Sea Song," the opening title card reads "For Rob."

1. ORA - Tutti gli orari sono espressi in UTC; ogni sismografo riporta la propria ora di inizio e di fine. L'inizio dei dati, provenienti da diverse fonti può differire a causa della latenza. Le tracce del sismografo sono sempre in fase perché allineate all'istante UTC corrente.
2. SISMOGRAMMI - L'aumento di spessore nei tracciati può avvenire per "rumore sismico", un nome generico per la vibrazione del suolo dovuta a una moltitudine di cause, principalmente da sorgenti superficiali o prossime alla superficie, oppure per iniezione di segnale. 0. VELOCITÀ ONDA SISMICA P: in 3 minuti le onde sismiche vicine percorrono circa 1000 km. Ogni anno nel mondo si verificano almeno 100000 terremoti di magnitudo 3 (300 al giorno) e 1500 sopra M5 mentre milioni di piccoli eventi inferiori a M3.
1. ORA - Tutti gli orari sono espressi in UTC; ogni sismografo riporta la propria ora di inizio e di fine. L'inizio dei dati, provenienti da diverse fonti può differire a causa della latenza. Le tracce del sismografo sono sempre in fase perché allineate all'istante UTC corrente.
2. SISMOGRAMMI - L'aumento di spessore nei tracciati può avvenire per "rumore sismico", un nome generico per la vibrazione del suolo dovuta a una moltitudine di cause, principalmente da sorgenti superficiali o prossime alla superficie, oppure per iniezione di segnale. Rumori al di sotto di 1 Hz, sono comunemente chiamati "microsismi"; quelli al di sopra di 1 Hz, "microtremori". Le fonti primarie di rumore sismico comprendono il rumore antropico da attività umane, il rumore naturale da maltempo e da onde oceaniche, il tremore vulcanico ecc.
3. SUONO - Avvisi acustici progressivi dai sismografi dei Colli Albani Roma. Possibili suoni per onde superficiali da telesismi e "rumore sismico".

Hi. James from engVid. I would like to talk about something that will help you understand English, and it's two things. Number one are parts of speech. What are the parts of speech and how do you use them? The second is called syntax, which is a very complicated word for word order. Where do you put the words in a sentence? In some languages they have a different word order, some languages it doesn't really matter, but what my job today is, is to show you where the words go and: What do they basically mean-okay-in the parts of speech? As E said: "Words. Where do they go?"
Now, if you're new to English or even if you're an intermediate student, sometimes this causes you problems. Right? You've heard the terms: "preposition", "determiner", "syntax", and you're like: "Oh, it's so complicated." Today's lesson will be simple. You can go over this again and again. It will help you understand and use English better.
So I'm going to start off with the most basic part of parts of speech, and I want to start with the things part. Things. Not actions, but things. I am a person. My watch is a thing. Okay? An animal, a cat or a dog, or an apple, these are things. We call these things nouns, because nouns name people - Hi, I'm James; places - Toronto, Ontario; things - my watch; animals - a cat, meow; and food - an apple. Okay? These are nouns. Example: boy, dog, apple. Okay? Nouns name these things.
But sometimes you don't want to keep using the same noun again and again. "James ate the apple and James walked his dog as James talked to his friend, Oliver, and then James..." It gets what we call repetitive and boring, and it also makes the sentences go really slow. And sometimes we want to use the noun in a different way. So in this case we introduce what's called pronouns. Pronouns can replace nouns in a sentence. So now you could say something like this: "James ate the apple and he walked his dog." Instead of: "James ate the apple and James walked his dog", we can use a pronoun to replace it and make it simpler. We still know we're talking about James.
Now, we talked about word order or syntax. Let me explain this. In order to use a pronoun first you must use the noun. Okay? You introduce the noun and then you can replace it with a pronoun. That's why you see number one then number two. You cannot just start with a pronoun. If I started a sentence at the beginning: "He went to the store." The very first thing you will say to me is: "Who's he?" I go: "Oh, James went to the store and he bought the apples there." And you go: "Oh, now I know who he is." So, pronouns kind of number two because you have to actually introduce first with a noun, then you can replace it with a pronoun.
Now, we have several types of pronouns. I'm just going to go over and show you a couple of them so you get an idea. Pronouns include: "I", "we", which are subject pronouns. Object pronouns when we're talking about something that's not us, but something on the other side that receives action, as a subject pronoun I do things. I run. Right? We eat dinner. We're talking to them. Now, when we say "them", you go: "What?" Well, they are receiving it and we call those object pronouns. Okay? So the most basic ones are subject and object pronouns. One is doing something, one is receiving. There are reflexive pronouns, like: "himself" where somebody is talking about themselves. "He built the house himself." So he's talking about him as an object, but reflecting it back to himself. We call it reflexive pronoun. Okay? There are others, but I'm not going to get into them right now because I want to keep this simple just so you know what the parts of speech are, and you can always come to engVid to come and see other lessons in which we go deeply into reflexive pronouns, object and subject pronouns. Okay? Cool. So we talked about how pronouns can replace nouns, and we're good with that. Yeah?
So let's go to stage number three, because once you've replaced them, how do you know the difference between them? Apple, apple. I don't know. That's when we have adjectives. Adjectives. Hi. James from engVid. I would like to talk about something that will help you understand English, and it's two things. Number one are parts of speech. What are the parts of speech and how do you use them? The second is called syntax, which is a very complicated word for word order. Where do you put the words in a sentence? In some languages they have a different word order, some languages it doesn't really matter, but what my job today is, is to show you where the words go and: What do they basically mean-okay-in the parts of speech? As E said: "Words. Where do they go?"
Now, if you're new to English or even if you're an intermediate student, sometimes this causes you problems. Right? You've heard the terms: "preposition", "determiner", "syntax", and you're like: "Oh, it's so complicated." Today's lesson will be simple. You can go over this again and again. It will help you understand and use English better.
So I'm going to start off with the most basic part of parts of speech, and I want to start with the things part. Things. Not actions, but things. I am a person. My watch is a thing. Okay? An animal, a cat or a dog, or an apple, these are things. We call these things nouns, because nouns name people - Hi, I'm James; places - Toronto, Ontario; things - my watch; animals - a cat, meow; and food - an apple. Okay? These are nouns. Example: boy, dog, apple. Okay? Nouns name these things.
But sometimes you don't want to keep using the same noun again and again. "James ate the apple and James walked his dog as James talked to his friend, Oliver, and then James..." It gets what we call repetitive and boring, and it also makes the sentences go really slow. And sometimes we want to use the noun in a different way. So in this case we introduce what's called pronouns. Pronouns can replace nouns in a sentence. So now you could say something like this: "James ate the apple and he walked his dog." Instead of: "James ate the apple and James walked his dog", we can use a pronoun to replace it and make it simpler. We still know we're talking about James.
Now, we talked about word order or syntax. Let me explain this. In order to use a pronoun first you must use the noun. Okay? You introduce the noun and then you can replace it with a pronoun. That's why you see number one then number two. You cannot just start with a pronoun. If I started a sentence at the beginning: "He went to the store." The very first thing you will say to me is: "Who's he?" I go: "Oh, James went to the store and he bought the apples there." And you go: "Oh, now I know who he is." So, pronouns kind of number two because you have to actually introduce first with a noun, then you can replace it with a pronoun.
Now, we have several types of pronouns. I'm just going to go over and show you a couple of them so you get an idea. Pronouns include: "I", "we", which are subject pronouns. Object pronouns when we're talking about something that's not us, but something on the other side that receives action, as a subject pronoun I do things. I run. Right? We eat dinner. We're talking to them. Now, when we say "them", you go: "What?" Well, they are receiving it and we call those object pronouns. Okay? So the most basic ones are subject and object pronouns. One is doing something, one is receiving. There are reflexive pronouns, like: "himself" where somebody is talking about themselves. "He built the house himself." So he's talking about him as an object, but reflecting it back to himself. We call it reflexive pronoun. Okay? There are others, but I'm not going to get into them right now because I want to keep this simple just so you know what the parts of speech are, and you can always come to engVid to come and see other lessons in which we go deeply into reflexive pronouns, object and subject pronouns. Okay? Cool. So we talked about how pronouns can replace nouns, and we're good with that. Yeah?
So let's go to stage number three, because once you've replaced them, how do you know the difference between them? Apple, apple. I don't know. That's when we have adjectives. Adjectives. of lessons on the parts of speech
My name is Ganesh and this lesson is
all about nouns. In this lesson we will
learn about the different kinds of nouns
there are in English and we will also
look at some rules to keep in mind when
using them. We will first talk about
concrete and abstract nouns, then
we'll look at common and proper nouns
which are a very important area.
Then
we'll discuss the very interesting
collective nouns and finally we'll turn
to the most important topic relating to
nouns, and that is countable and
uncountable nouns.
Before we start just
remember - for any questions let me know

OK so first of all what is a noun? I'm
sure you know the answer to this -
A noun is just the name of a person,
place, animal, thing, feeling or idea. For
example in this sentence
"Graham likes to
go to the zoo and see the animals." Here
there are three nouns - can you identify
all of them? The nouns are Graham - a
person, zoo - a place and animals. Nouns can
also be things like watch, T-shirt etc.
And all of these - people, places, animals
and things are physical - that means we
can see them and we can touch them. So
they are called concrete nouns - that
means they have a real physical
existence. So what are abstract nouns?
Abstract nouns are nouns that don't
have physical existence. That means we
cannot touch them or see them, and these
are ideas and feelings. Now in this
sentence
Honesty is the best policy. It's a very
popular proverb in English
Have you heard of that? In that sentence
honesty and policy are both nouns but
they are abstract nouns. And this next
example
Love is a powerful emotion. Love is the
name of a feeling like anger, happiness
or sorrow. And love is a noun. Emotion is
also a noun.
OK let's now talk about common and
proper nouns.
Do you know what common and proper nouns
are? A common noun is a general noun and a
proper noun is the name given to a
specific individual.
For example in this
chart all the nouns on the left are
common nouns and all the nouns on the
right are proper nouns. For example man is
a common noun because it can mean any man
but Ganesh is the name of one man - one
individual, which in this case is me of
course.
So Ganesh is a proper noun. Woman, in the
same way, is a common noun - it could be any
woman but Allison is the name of an
individual, so a proper noun.
In the next
two, city and country are common nouns but
Hamburg and China are the names of one
city and one country, so proper nouns.
OK now let me ask you a question at this
point - do you notice something about the
proper nouns?
You should be noticing that
they're all written with a capital first
letter. And that is actually a rule in
English - proper nouns are always written
with a capital first letter.
With
university, for example, when we talk
about universities in general we use it
as a common noun so the whole word is
written in lower case - that means in
small letters.
But when we're talking
about a specific university like the
University of Chicago, notice that both
the 'U' in University and the 'C' in
Chicago are capitals.
That's because it's
a proper noun that refers to one
specific university. OK there are more
examples on the screen but I want you to
focus on the last two - day and month.
With
the days of the week - Sunday, Monday,
Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday,
Saturday, we always write them with the
first letter capitalized because they
are proper nouns.

0. VELOCITÀ ONDA SISMICA P: in 3 minuti le onde sismiche vicine percorrono circa 1000 km. Ogni anno nel mondo si verificano almeno 100000 terremoti di magnitudo 3 (300 al giorno) e 1500 sopra M5 mentre milioni di piccoli eventi inferiori a M3.
1. ORA - Tutti gli orari sono espressi in UTC; ogni sismografo riporta la propria ora di inizio e di fine. L'inizio dei dati, provenienti da diverse fonti può differire a causa della latenza. Le tracce del sismografo sono sempre in fase perché allineate all'istante UTC corrente.
2. SISMOGRAMMI - L'aumento di spessore nei tracciati può avvenire per "rumore sismico", un nome generico per la vibrazione del suolo dovuta a una moltitudine di cause, principalmente da sorgenti superficiali o prossime alla superficie, oppure per iniezione di segnale. Rumori al di sotto di 1 Hz, sono comunemente chiamati "microsismi"; quelli al di sopra di 1 Hz, "microtremori". Le fonti primarie di rumore sismico comprendono il rumore antropico da attività umane, il rumore naturale da maltempo e da onde oceaniche, il tremore vulcanico ecc.

Adriatic Sea
The Adriatic Sea /ˌeɪdriˈætᵻk/ is a body of water separating the Italian Peninsula from the Balkan peninsula and the Apennine Mountains from the Dinaric Alps and adjacent ranges. The Adriatic is the northernmost arm of the Mediterranean Sea, extending from the Strait of Otranto (where it connects to the Ionian Sea) to the northwest and the Po Valley. The countries with coasts on the Adriatic are Italy, Croatia, Albania, Montenegro, Bosnia-Herzegovina, and Slovenia. The Adriatic contains over 1,300 islands, mostly located along its eastern, Croatian, coast. It is divided into three basins, the northern being the shallowest and the southern being the deepest, with a maximum depth of 1,233 metres (4,045 ft). The Otranto Sill, an underwater ridge, is located at the border between the Adriatic and Ionian Seas. The prevailing currents flow counterclockwise from the Strait of Otranto, along the eastern coast and back to the strait along the western (Italian) coast. Tidal movements in the Adriatic are slight, although larger amplitudes are known to occur occasionally. The Adriatic's salinity is lower than the Mediterranean's because the Adriatic collects a third of the fresh water flowing into the Mediterranean, acting as a dilution basin. The surface water temperatures generally range from 30 °C (86 °F) in summer to 12 °C (54 °F) in winter, significantly moderating the Adriatic Basin's climate.

Hi. James from engVid. I would like to talk about something that will help you understand English, and it's two things. Number one are parts of speech. What are the parts of speech and how do you use them? The second is called syntax, which is a very complicated word for word order. Where do you put the words in a sentence? In some languages they have a different word order, some languages it doesn't really matter, but what my job today is, is to show you where the words go and: What do they basically mean-okay-in the parts of speech? As E said: "Words. Where do they go?"
Now, if you're new to English or even if you're an intermediate student, sometimes this causes you problems. Right? You've heard the terms: "preposition", "determiner", "syntax", and you're like: "Oh, it's so complicated." Today's lesson will be simple. You can go over this again and again. It will help you understand and use English better.
So I'm going to start off with the most basic part of parts of speech, and I want to start with the things part. Things. Not actions, but things. I am a person. My watch is a thing. Okay? An animal, a cat or a dog, or an apple, these are things. We call these things nouns, because nouns name people - Hi, I'm James; places - Toronto, Ontario; things - my watch; animals - a cat, meow; and food - an apple. Okay? These are nouns. Example: boy, dog, apple. Okay? Nouns name these things.
But sometimes you don't want to keep using the same noun again and again. "James ate the apple and James walked his dog as James talked to his friend, Oliver, and then James..." It gets what we call repetitive and boring, and it also makes the sentences go really slow. And sometimes we want to use the noun in a different way. So in this case we introduce what's called pronouns. Pronouns can replace nouns in a sentence. So now you could say something like this: "James ate the apple and he walked his dog." Instead of: "James ate the apple and James walked his dog", we can use a pronoun to replace it and make it simpler. We still know we're talking about James.
Now, we talked about word order or syntax. Let me explain this. In order to use a pronoun first you must use the noun. Okay? You introduce the noun and then you can replace it with a pronoun. That's why you see number one then number two. You cannot just start with a pronoun. If I started a sentence at the beginning: "He went to the store." The very first thing you will say to me is: "Who's he?" I go: "Oh, James went to the store and he bought the apples there." And you go: "Oh, now I know who he is." So, pronouns kind of number two because you have to actually introduce first with a noun, then you can replace it with a pronoun.
Now, we have several types of pronouns. I'm just going to go over and show you a couple of them so you get an idea. Pronouns include: "I", "we", which are subject pronouns. Object pronouns when we're talking about something that's not us, but something on the other side that receives action, as a subject pronoun I do things. I run. Right? We eat dinner. We're talking to them. Now, when we say "them", you go: "What?" Well, they are receiving it and we call those object pronouns. Okay? So the most basic ones are subject and object pronouns. One is doing something, one is receiving. There are reflexive pronouns, like: "himself" where somebody is talking about themselves. "He built the house himself." So he's talking about him as an object, but reflecting it back to himself. We call it reflexive pronoun. Okay? There are others, but I'm not going to get into them right now because I want to keep this simple just so you know what the parts of speech are, and you can always come to engVid to come and see other lessons in which we go deeply into reflexive pronouns, object and subject pronouns. Okay? Cool. So we talked about how pronouns can replace nouns, and we're good with that. Yeah?
So let's go to stage number three, because once you've replaced them, how do you know the difference between them? Apple, apple. I don't know. That's when we have adjectives. Adjectives. The word itself can be broken into two parts: "ject" and "ad". But remember... Do you remember when I said subject and object, and I gave you the example? I said, for instance: "I" is a subject pronoun. Right? Subject, yeah, I'm good at this.

Hi there and welcome back to our series
of lessons on the parts of speech
My name is Ganesh and this lesson is
all about nouns. In this lesson we will
learn about the different kinds of nouns
there are in English and we will also
look at some rules to keep in mind when
using them. We will first talk about
concrete and abstract nouns, then
we'll look at common and proper nouns
which are a very important area.
Then
we'll discuss the very interesting
collective nouns and finally we'll turn
to the most important topic relating to
nouns, and that is countable and
uncountable nouns.
Before we start just
remember - for any questions let me know

talk to you there.
OK so first of all what is a noun? I'm
sure you know the answer to this -
A noun is just the name of a person,
place, animal, thing, feeling or idea. For
example in this sentence
"Graham likes to
go to the zoo and see the animals." Here
there are three nouns - can you identify
all of them? The nouns are Graham - a
person, zoo - a place and animals. Nouns can
also be things like watch, T-shirt etc.
And all of these - people, places, animals
and things are physical - that means we
can see them and we can touch them. So
they are called concrete nouns - that
means they have a real physical
existence. So what are abstract nouns?
Abstract nouns are nouns that don't
have physical existence. That means we
cannot touch them or see them, and these
are ideas and feelings. Now in this
sentence
Honesty is the best policy. It's a very
popular proverb in English
Have you heard of that? In that sentence
honesty and policy are both nouns but
they are abstract nouns. And this next
example
Love is a powerful emotion. Love is the
name of a feeling like anger, happiness
or sorrow. And love is a noun. Emotion is
also a noun.
OK let's now talk about common and
proper nouns.
Do you know what common and proper nouns
are? A common noun is a general noun and a
proper noun is the name given to a
specific individual.
For example in this
chart all the nouns on the left are
common nouns and all the nouns on the
right are proper nouns. For example man is
a common noun because it can mean any man
but Ganesh is the name of one man - one
individual, which in this case is me of
course.
So Ganesh is a proper noun. Woman, in the
same way, is a common noun - it could be any
woman but Allison is the name of an
individual, so a proper noun.
In the next
two, city and country are common nouns but
Hamburg and China are the names of one
city and one country, so proper nouns.
OK now let me ask you a question at this
point - do you notice something about the
proper nouns?
You should be noticing that
they're all written with a capital first
letter. And that is actually a rule in
English - proper nouns are always written
with a capital first letter.
With
university, for example, when we talk
about universities in general we use it
as a common noun so the whole word is
written in lower case - that means in
small letters.
But when we're talking
about a specific university like the
University of Chicago, notice that both
the 'U' in University and the 'C' in
Chicago are capitals.
That's because it's
a proper noun that refers to one
specific university. OK there are more
examples on the screen but I want you to
focus on the last two - day and month.
With
the days of the week - Sunday, Monday,
Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday,
Saturday, we always write them with the
first letter capitalized because they
are proper nouns.
