Croatia - Hungary
Hungary and Croatia were "partner lands" of the same Kingdom for more than 800 years. Hungarians and Croats share a collective memory of their common history which was mainly a positive experience. With some exceptional episodes of conflicts, we can say that Croatia and Hungary have much more to share in their collective historic memory than other Central and Eastern European nations. The positive image of each-other certainly lead to a strong political and economic partnership in the late 20th, early 21th century. Hungary was one of the first European states that recognized and actively helped Croatian independence after Yugoslavia collapsed. Former Hungarian PM Antall József and his government pro-actively helped Croatia's cause not only in the international arena but also through Hungary's strong involvement in strengthening Croatia's military potential against Yugoslav (Serbian) aggression. Hungary's friendly support contributed to further development of strategic partnership with Croatia based on historic alliance and sympathy. My video is a contribution to this alliance. Summary of Croatian-Hungarian history: ------------------------------------------------------ The Croats arrived in what is today Croatia in the early 7th century. They organized into two dukedoms; the duchy of Pannonian Croatia in the north and the duchy of Littoral Croatia in the south. Duke Tomislav of Littoral Croatia was one of the most prominent members of the House of Trpimirović. He united ...

RED CROATIA
Where did the Croats tendency of naming there nations by colors originate from and what did it mean? It originated from the Ancient Persians, who used colors to symbolize sides of the world, blue symbolized east, white west, red south and black north. The Vatican historical encyclopedia in volume number 3 under the letter C on page 948 states: Croats are one of the oldest people and in the 6th century BC lived in Iran. Red Croatia is a territory from Cetina river in Dalmatia to Vlorë in Albania. Including todays Dalmatia, Hercegovina, Montenegro, Metohiya, Sanjak, and Albania. Regions from Istria to Vlorë in Albania were assigned in the Duvno Parliament in 753 and were split between two autonomous Croatian entities: White (west) Croatia from river Raša in Istria to river Cetina in Dalmatia, and Red (south) Croatia from Cetina river to Vlorë and Himarë in Albania. In the Duvno Parliament Red Croatia was divided into the autonomous regions: Zachlumia, Travunia, Dioclia and Illyricum. From then these regions certainly made one whole nation the whole time, more or less connected together. From the year book of Pope Doklea (head XI.) division in the Duvno Parliament in the year 753 looked like this: White Croatia: From Dalme to Vinodol he called White Croatia, wich was also called Upper Dalmatia. Red Croatia: From Dalme all the way to the city of Durrës, he called Red Croatia, wich is also called Lower Dalmatia. Books: 1. Mandić, Dominik: Hrvati i Srbi dva stara različita ...

Krnica, Croatia
Krnica, or Carnitia, is situated at the 195 metres above the sea height within the municipality of Marcana. The Port of Krnica (Porat) is its "coastal" extension. In the village, you can find a post office, a store and several cafe bars. Besides Krnica, nearby you can find some picturesque villages such as Rakalj, Mutvoran, Peruški, Kavran, Barban, Gologoricki Dol, Marcana... as well as many others. Horseback riding, walks, mountain biking, swimming, boat rides are only some of the activities you can undertake if and where you are not diving. By the same token, you can take the excursion to somewhere in the central Istria to the well-known Hum, Buzet, Motovun, Grožnjan, the Pula's Arena or in the perhaps less known Mutvoran, the Valley of the river Raša, the Old Town of Labin or for a walk on the Pula's fortresses. In the Port is the inn "K Ribaru" known by the definitely best shrimp in the Adriatic and the place where we obligatorily take our first morning coffee or Pelinkovac. The best Inn in this part of Istria is definitively "Konoba Taj" in Pula. All Istrian delis in one place. Prosciutto, cheese, truffles, gnocchi, the traditional Istrian home made pasta "fuži", filled ravioli... A good inn is also known for a good hostess-our Barbara. When you are very hungry, you can order by phone and the food will be ready on the table when you come to the inn. In the nearby Duga Uvala, you can find the hotel Croatia with an indoor swimming pool, fitness and a Turkish and ...

ISTRA IZLET
Early history See also: March of Istria The name is derived from the Illyrian tribe of the Histri, which Strabo refers to as living in the region. The Histri are classified in some sources as a "Venetic" Illyrian tribe, with certain linguistic differences from other Illyrians[1]. The Romans described the Histri as a fierce tribe of pirates, protected by the difficult navigation of their rocky coasts. It took two military campaigns for the Romans to finally subdue them in 177 BCE. The region was then called together with the Venetian part the X. Roman Region of "Venetia et Histria". Per ancient definition the north-eastern border of Italy. Dante Alighieri refers to it as well, the eastern border of Italy per ancient definition is the river Arsia-Rasa. The eastern side of this river was called Liburnia, another ancient tribe who lived also in the italian region Marche around Ancona, and not part of Histria. Today Liburnia is included into Istria. On the n orthern side Histria went much further north and inluded the italian city Trieste and the region Venezia-Julia. Today Trieste and Venezia-Julia are not included into Istria for political reasons. Some scholars speculate that the names Histri and Istria are related to the Latin name Hister, or Danube. Ancient folktales reported—inaccurately—that the Danube split in two or "bifurcated" and came to the sea near Trieste as well as at the Black Sea. The story of the "Bifurcation of the Danube" is part of the Argonaut legend ...
