Flip-flops, zoris, Hawaii chappal, thongs, Japanese sandals, or jandals are an open type of outdoor footwear, consisting of a flat sole held loosely on the foot by a Y-shaped strap, like a thin thong, that passes between the first (big) and second toes and around either side of the foot. Flip-flops may also be held to the foot with a single strap over the front of the foot rather than a thong.
Flip-flops are a common type of footwear. They are a thin rubber sole with two straps running in a Y shape from the sides of the foot to the gap between the big toe and its neighbour. The popular use of flip-flops as beach or outdoor wear has spread through much of the world, although it is most common in India and Pakistan (where it is immensely popular and is called a Hawaii chappal), Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, UK, USA, Brazil, Panama, Israel, the Pacific Islands, and Southeast Asia.
However, they are not considered flip flops if they have a strap around the heel or ankle, they have more than a 1/2 inch heel, or they are sparkly. In any of these cases the shoe would be considered more along the lines of a business casual sandal.
I fell asleep on the beach last night
I think I left an angel in the sand
Drank some drinks, sang some songs and felt alright
And baby I can do it all again
Yeah, baby I can do it all again
Chorus:
Grab your flipflops, and your boom box and two coolers of ice
We hit up the same spot, where it's so hot and the water feels so nice
Steal a little tiki torch from your mamas porch, we 'aint gonna bring it back
'Cause when the sun comes up my friends, we're doing this again
I fell asleep to the sound of the waves last night
I think I heard a mermaid call my name
Her hair was long and her eyes were extra bright
And baby I won't ever be the same
No, baby I won't ever be the same
Grab your flipflops, and your boom box and two coolers of ice
We hit up the same spot, where it's so hot and the water feels so nice
Steal a little tiki torch from your mamas porch, we 'aint gonna bring it back
'Cause when the sun comes up my friends,
Yeah when the sun comes up my friends
We're doing this again
I fell asleep in her arms last night
She held me like the ocean holds the wind
If I could go back to that summer night
I'd take off all my clothes and jump right in
Yeah, I'd take off all my clothes and jump right in
Grab your flipflops, and your boom box and two coolers of ice
We hit up the same spot, where it's so hot and the water feels so nice
Steal a little tiki torch from your mamas porch, we 'aint gonna bring it back
'Cause when the sun comes up my friends
Grab your flipflops, and your boom box and two coolers of ice
We hit up the same spot, where it's so hot and the water feels so nice
Steal a little tiki torch from your mamas porch, we 'aint gonna bring it back
'Cause when the sun comes up my friends,
Yeah when the sun comes up my friends
Yeah when the sun comes up my friends
Now here's a song all about the flows
All about the plastic that's in between my toes
All about the hip hop all about the flip-flops that I rock
And don't ya know they are locales
I got 'em in Hawaii yea, Waikiki
But now I'm going back to Cali
Drivin' with my friends gonna surf in the ocean
From Santacruz all the way up to Oregon
They got me laid back feelin' that warm tap
Slappin' to the bottom of my feet
And jamming on the beach yea, rappin' to the beat
I'm gonna take off my shirt and get myself a tan
(What?)
So get up, get up and get down
(Get down)
Get your flip flops off the ground
You gotta get your flip flops off the ground
And jump jump well everybody
Every things gonna be alright
As were dancing in the sun light
(We're representing c'mon, c'mon)
From the west coast
(We're representing c'mon, c'mon)
To the east coast

'Cuz I'm the emcee
But who's the DJ?
