In baseball statistics, slugging percentage (abbreviated SLG) is a popular measure of the power of a hitter. It is calculated as total bases divided by at bats:
Failed to parse (Missing texvc executable; please see math/README to configure.): SLG = \frac{(\mathit{1B}) + (2 \times \mathit{2B}) + (3 \times \mathit{3B}) + (4 \times \mathit{HR})}{AB}
where AB is the number of at-bats for a given player, and 1B, 2B, 3B, and HR are the number of singles, doubles, triples, and home runs, respectively. Walks are specifically excluded from this calculation.
For example, in 1920, Babe Ruth played his first season for the New York Yankees. In 458 at bats, Ruth had 172 hits, comprising 73 singles, 36 doubles, 9 triples, and 54 home runs, which brings the total base count to (73 × 1) + (36 × 2) + (9 × 3) + (54 × 4) = 388. His total number of bases (388) divided by his total at-bats (458) is .847, his slugging percentage for the season. The next year he slugged .846, and these records went unbroken until 2001, when Barry Bonds achieved 411 bases in 476 at-bats, bringing his slugging percentage to .863, unmatched since.

Dr. Steve Harris: [flirtatiously on board a plane] Now you tell me where you live, and i'll pick you up.::Wally Cook: My dear doctor, I live on the front page of the Morning Chronicle.::Dr. Steve Harris: On the what?::Wally Cook: [Louder] On the front page of the Morning Chronicle, and you can pick me up for seven cents! Now climb back in your horse and buggy and try your bedside manner on someone else!::Dr. Steve Harris: [Hearing the screech of the wheels touching down on the runway] What was that?::Wally Cook: We just came down to Earth!
Wally Cook: [to Homer] They'll boil you in oil in Macy's window after they marinate you for a week in Gimbel's.
Wally Cook: Oh, come on, Oliver, where's your sense of humor?::Oliver Stone: [after she laughs] You were going to marry him. He would have done to you what he did to the paper. [she stops laughing]::Wally Cook: [angrily] Why that two-timing little fraud!::Oliver Stone: Where's YOUR sense of humor?
Oliver Stone: ...in a couple of hours the whole city of New York is going to be banging at the door howling for your blood!::Homer Flagg: Why, I ain't got enough for everybody!

Plot
A group of stuntmen at one studio in Hollywood call themselves "Lucky Devils," and regularly chant "A stuntman makes a bad husband and a husband makes a bad stuntman." It rings true when Slugger Jones is killed doing his last stunt right after his marriage. Skipper Clark and Bob Hughes prevent a down-and-out girl, Fran, from committing suicide, and help her get an acting job at the studio. Romance follows, with Skipper marrying Fran, but with the understanding he'll continue doing his stuntwork. But Skipper freezes during a stunt when the frantic Fran signals him to stop, and his friend Bob is nearly killed. This washes Skipper up in the stunt business, so he takes a job on the labor crew, shooting on location, and leaving the pregnant Fran in the care of a cheap doctor. When he gets a wire from the doctor telling him Fran must be sent to a hospital, he decides to do a dangerous stunt the other stuntmen refuse, going over a 30-foot waterfall in a rowboat, for the $200 needed for the hospital.

Tryin' to get with Def Jam. Loud or MCA

Getting' drunk hoping I get to the crilla safely
Pray 4 me cause I'm needing money majorly

Salute my company, the sum of these heads suggests
Proof I can’t compete with he who judges me best
Stumble in boots; steep and too many steps – plod and
postulate
With wonder – what these people gonna do to me next?
I guess a penchant for the condescension comes from my
mother’s kin
Farm folk is different, sun form a tougher skin
Then and now, meld with the elders, help to vent it out
It’s wicked how they never showed emotion ever when in
doubt
Send me that, from the spot you’ve been in since Jimmy
passed
Empty past, wind blow, you know how McKinney’s act
Probably I should have tried to acknowledge you
properly
And called her Roberts, ‘cause yo my daughter got the
quality
Of Rosalita, she arose a leader out the fire
Spark of light, type matriarch – prize of the prior
I avow to pass her this I gathered listenin’ to you
Get down and organize and keep it real for your crew
Tribal wisdom held the essence of the bible in him
Tough times pressin’ found him fit to find religion
Easin’ pain through the study of the struggle they done
came through
Misery enchained, it’s like he in Canaan the same, too
News ran accounts of who you blamed, too – I felt that
Posed in that position more than once, hell held back
Who’s to say you threw it all away?
They aint never faced the 8-guage prayin’ the maker
take you today
Heredity meted the faith and fate both
Afraid to stray or wander, now may the former stay
close, ‘sposed to
Obey the code, it’s no simple task, men will ask
Why you assimilate and denigrate, I dwindle fast
Smoke signal kindled, blast back – found middle ground
Balance act, pact challenge me: do my contingent proud
Now and for everything a motto rings true
Get down and organize and keep it real for your crew
CHORUS:
Now this goes out to all area cliques
Centralized to West side of the bridge
Know your loyalty to district, as important as it is
Comes second to the town; how’d this division exist
Now this goes out to all area cliques
Fellas, fam and folk controllin’ dos-o-six
Goin’ for dolo, recall in all the things y’all do
Get down and organize and keep it real for your crew
The town’s idle chatter be a vital matter for
discussion
Some are good for nothin’ but disruption of the
Momentum, though minimal it still slows growth
Potentially killin’ the rhythm, softly pillows spoke
Alleged bed fellows we are? Because of y’all’s hang
up’s?
Dead the jealousy and step your PR game up
As if I never offered even dialog, called a dozen
Meetings at the Beacon branch – people can’t speak
In retrospect I hold regret over the whole
Separation and representation of sets, bet I’m
Dedicated to my record label, pledge stated ages back
A few viewed the move as exclusive, my dude I hated
that
Aint nothin’ changed, got a name plus a sharper aim
Market share, the common denominator remain
To the Line and to the thine own self, try to be true
Get down and organize and keep it real for your crew
soy alegre,jugador y enamorado

soy sinsero y del amigo buen amigo
enemigo del engaño y la traicion

desafiando asta la muerte siempre voy
My friend's a computer hacker
But in school everybody said he was a slacker
He writes science fiction novels
He builds whole towns and villages from cola bottles
He does equations just for fun
Eats low carb ice cream with his Mum
Sews Cub Scout badges on his sweater
He's just a feeling you ignore
A dumb computer hacker
Trash can on the floor
A pitiful disaster
Cried to sleep at night
When he never got it right
Cos he never realised
It doesn't even matter
Later on in life
He's drowning in his laughter
Three kids and a wife
He's happy ever after
Stoked to be alive
With his dream job up at Nasa
Loving everyday
Well, I guess it really pays to be a slacker
He stays up all night playing Tetris
Asteroids, Pacman written on his 'games to get' list
Wasted nights spent up in his bedroom
Tough times, long nights
Must have been a lot to get through
He's getting sharp pains in his wrist
In his world girlfrien's don't exist
Cna't even get an ad on 'My Space'
(poor guy)
He's just a feeling you ignore
A dumb computer hacker
Trash can on the floor
A pitiful disaster
Cried to sleep at night
When he never got it right
Cos he never realised
It doesn't even matter
Later on in life
He's drowning in his laughter
Three kids and a wife
He's happy ever after
Stoked to be alive
With his dream job up at Nasa
Loving everyday
Well, I guess it really pays to be a slacker
He's the one all alone in despair
He's the one who thinks life isn't fair
He's the one sitting right over there
He's the lonely guy on the side
Looking kinda shy
You could see him ride
Passing by on a pedal bike
He's the funny type
Kinda like 'Napoleon Dynamite'
He's just a feeling you ignore
A dumb computer hacker
Trash can on the floor
A pitiful disaster
Cried to sleep at night
When he never got it right
Cos he never realised
It doesn't even matter
Later on in life
He's drowning in his laughter
Three kids and a wife
He's happy ever after
Stoked to be alive
With his dream job up at Nasa
Loving everyday
Well, I guess it really pays to be a slacker
It pays to be a slacker!
