New York Blizzard juno - New York Snow storm 2015 INCREDIBLE : Airlines canceled nearly 2,000 flights for Monday by 5 a.m. as a major winter storm takes aim at the Northeast. The storm is expected to bring as much as two feet or more of snow from New Jersey to Maine. An additional 1,672 flights have been cancelled for Tuesday and that number is expected to rise. The greatest impacts from the storm, which began as a clipper system that brought snow and slick roads to the Midwest on Sunday, are expected Monday evening through Tuesday. According to White House Spokesman Josh Earnest, President Obama was briefed on the storm and White House officials have been in touch with state and local officials on the eastern seaboard. FEMA also has assets in the region ready to assist, Earnest said. New York City Mayor Bill De Blasio told residents in a press conference Sunday not to underestimate the storm. “Prepare for something worse than we have seen before. Prepare to be safe. Take every precaution,” he said. “Now is the time to get ready for this extreme weather.” Ahead of the winter storm, NYC residents race to stock up on food essentials. Trying to make business class more accessible to everyone, French airline La Compagnie offers passengers a round trip from Paris to New York for just £945 (€1200) - more than £2000 cheaper than the same trip with Air France. Launched by L'Avion founder Frantz Yvelin and former Swissair and JetAirways COO Peter Luethi in July, the company sets to bring business class service 'back to where it belongs.' Welcome on board: The La Compagnie team on board the luxury aircraft with budget prices 'With French style and American dependability, La Compagnie will become the choice of the current generation of hard-working business travelers who demand something more from air transportation' says Yvelin. The airline's website states that their promise 'is for those who want to enjoy and exclusive business-class cabin at a smart price' La Compagnie will operate a fleet of redesigned Boeing 757-200 aircraft, with 74 seats, that recline 180 degrees, set in a 2x2 formation throughout the aircraft On board there is complimentary wi-fi and all passengers will be provided with personal Samsung tablets loaded with a range of films, music, books and magazines. On board, menus have been devised by Christophe Langree, the Michelin-starred chef at Hotel Matignon in Paris and amenity kits are by expensive cosmetic brand Caudalie. There is also complimentary wifi and all passengers will be provided with personal Samsung tablets loaded with a range of films, music, books and magazines. In the airport all passengers will receive fast track priority access on arrival and will have access to the Icare lounge when departing from Paris, and the 'Art & Lounge' space at Newark. Flights from Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport will leave at 5.50pm and arrive in Newark International Airport at 8.30pm; return flights will depart New York at 9.45pm and arrive in Paris at 11.15am. "la compagnie" travel flight airplane "low cost travel" ticket "business class" economy flying traveling ny nyc "new york city" paris french france 2015 "economy class" plane airplane fly discount food "french food" onboard tech technology experience vip ipad tablet seat film movie entertainment sleep sleeping "united states" usa u.s. america bed business ceo airfare europe uk london heathrow usd "hiso report" monaco lamborghini ferrari bugatti rolls royce private jet qatar etihad suite apartment a380 yacht dubai The launch of La Compagnie's flights follows the announcement that newly created Odyssey Airlines is to start all-business-class flights between London City Airport and New York from 2016. British Airways already offers all-business-class flights on that route and Qatar Airways all-business-class flights between London and Doha began this summer. The Hotel Detective has to give this to Frantz Yvelin, the founder and CEO of the new business-class-only airline La Compagnie, currently flying a B757 six times a week between Newark and Paris Charles de Gaulle: He speaks plainly. “Is La Compagnie the best business class in the sky?” he says at one point over lunch in Paris at Faust Pont Alexandre III, which opened in August. “No. I don’t pretend that. Call Etihad,” he concludes, referring to the Middle Eastern carrier known for splurging on its premium cabins. In particular, La Compagnie’s seats (above) are better. They are not flat beds, but “angle-flats,” which means that when reclined, the body of the seat is flat, but slanted. American and Air France also use angle-flat seats in business class on NY-Paris, and to THD, it seemed that La Compagnie’s is not slanted as steeply as American’s. (THD has always had to wedge himself into AA’s seat to keep from sliding down, and there are plenty of online complaints about the Air France seat in this regard
From an article by The New York Times: "I don't believe in dynastic wealth", he said, calling those who grow up in wealthy circumstances "members of the lucky sperm club". Buffett has written several times of his belief that, in a market economy, the rich earn outsized rewards for their talents: A market economy creates some lopsided payoffs to participants. The right endowment of vocal chords, anatomical structure, physical strength, or mental powers can produce enormous piles of claim checks (stocks, bonds, and other forms of capital) on future national output. Proper selection of ancestors similarly can result in lifetime supplies of such tickets upon birth. If zero real investment returns diverted a bit greater portion of the national output from such stockholders to equally worthy and hardworking citizens lacking jackpot-producing talents, it would seem unlikely to pose such an insult to an equitable world as to risk Divine Intervention.[121] His children will not inherit a significant proportion of his wealth. This is consistent with statements he has made in the past indicating his opposition to the transfer of great fortunes from one generation to the next.[122] Buffett once commented, "I want to give my kids just enough so that they would feel that they could do anything, but not so much that they would feel like doing nothing".[123] In June 2006, he announced a plan to give away his fortune to charity, with 83% of it going to the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation.[124] He pledged about the equivalent of 10 million Berkshire Hathaway Class B shares to the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation (worth approximately US$30.7 billion as of June 23, 2006),[125] making it the largest charitable donation in history, and Buffett one of the leaders of philanthrocapitalism.[126] The foundation will receive 5% of the total each July, beginning in 2006. (Significantly, however, the pledge is conditional upon the foundation's giving away each year, beginning in 2009, an amount that is at least equal to the value of the entire previous year's gift from Buffett, in addition to 5% of the foundation's net assets.) Buffett joined the Gates Foundation's board, although he did not plan to be actively involved in the foundation's investments.[127][128] This is a significant shift from Buffett's previous statements, to the effect that most of his fortune would pass to his Buffett Foundation.[129] The bulk of the estate of his wife, valued at $2.6 billion, went to there when she died in 2004.[130] He also pledged $50-million to the Nuclear Threat Initiative, in Washington, where he began serving as an adviser in 2002.[131] In 2006, he auctioned his 2001 Lincoln Town Car[132] on eBay to raise money for Girls, Inc.[133] In 2007, he auctioned a luncheon with himself that raised a final bid of $650,100 for the Glide Foundation.[134] Later auctions raised $2,110,100,[135][136] $1.68 million[137] and $3,456,789. The winners traditionally dine with Buffett at New York's Smith and Wollensky steak house. The restaurant donates at least $10,000 to Glide each year to host the meal.[138] In a letter to Fortune Magazine's website in 2010 Buffett remarked: My luck was accentuated by my living in a market system that sometimes produces distorted results, though overall it serves our country well... I've worked in an economy that rewards someone who saves the lives of others on a battlefield with a medal, rewards a great teacher with thank-you notes from parents, but rewards those who can detect the mispricing of securities with sums reaching into the billions. In short, fate's distribution of long straws is wildly capricious. Asiana's B777-200ER Economy Class service to Seoul Incheon from New York JFK (Flight 221). The flight was late by about an hour, but Asiana's service was truly impressive even though I was flying economy. Although the flight attendants were not as fluent in English as other international airlines, they were very professional and patient.

http://www.TravelsWithSheila.com Flying from Newark to Oslo on another of United Airlines Boeing 757-200 narrow body jets wasn't "awful." We had emergency exit row seats by the door with plenty of leg room but food trays were even narrower than the plane! It was a real challenge eating without sending food all over the floor. Let's have a long rendition of the Hallelujah chorus on the Oslo to Newark return. United Airlines was oversold in economy and they upgraded us to Business Class; the first International free upgrade we've received in over a year. If that wasn't enough, the Thai-style spicy fish was beyond wonderful and could easily be my meal of choice at any nice restaurant. (This may be the first and last time you will ever hear me say that about airplane food... )

Hi Guys Well, after the mishap of my outbound flight to Las Vegas aboard Edelweiss I decided to show you the excellent and very satisfying service and IFE of Edelweiss Airlines as my latest trip report! For those who have not seen the outbound flight yet I suggest you watch the other review first, so you’ll get so see what went wrong on the ZRH-LAS leg. For those who have seen it get to see how Edelweiss is if everything is working. After a quick ride and easy check-in I find myself aboard Edelweiss A330-200, an aircraft which recently has been totally refurbished with all new Business Class, Economy Max and Economy, new seats with a state-of-the-art entertainment system. Refusing to work on my outbound flight, now perfectly doing its job, the IFE convinced me with a really sensitive touchscreen and very fast working system. But have a look yourself in the review. The food aboard was of great quality, as always with Edelweiss, and the quantity was good too. Being a leisure airlines someone would not expect such great service. I totally recommend flying edelweiss, but best if you book through SWISS, because that way you get to earn miles. If you book through edelweiss, no miles credited to your account!!! (yeah I found out the hard way) Anyhow, hope you enjoy my Edelweiss Long Haul review and hope I could make you think of choosing edelweiss maybe for your next leisure trip or, if you live in paradise, why not hop on a Edelweiss Plane and check out switzerland ;) Wishing you all the best! Hunter Lovins (Natural Capitalism Solutions) presents the Edge Economy in New York at the WOBI on Innovation Conference. The global economy rests on a crumbling precipice. It is based on unsustainable assumptions and business practices that are driving societies and ecosystems into successive collapses. There are many palliative "fixes" that can prop the system up--but only for a time. What is needed is a new economic paradigm, one based on recognizing that the economy depends wholly on preserving healthy ecosystems, and sustainable communities. The Edge Economy is where we can begin to build a world that works for 100% of humanity.
A fellow at the Hoover Institution and a professor of economics at New York University Stern School of Business, Michael Spence won the Nobel Prize in Economic Sciences in 2001. His latest book is The Next Convergence: The Future of Economic Growth in a Multi-Speed World. Around 1750 the world economy began its amazing transformation with the advent of the Industrial Revolution. What happened then and why did it happen? The short answer, according to Michael Spence is "innovation." But where does innovation come from? Spence traces the emergence of the global economy, marking the critical interaction of economics and governance in successful economies in the developing world. He focuses on China and India as emerging economic powers and what their rise will mean for the United States.

The Complete Emirates Airbus 380 Experience in detail: http://www.youtube.com/seatgurus - Airbus A380 In-flight Economy Experience on Emirates Airlines - Tips on ultra long distance flights. (With Narration and Annotations. Details below). Information on the Casio Watch seen on video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3IrfvOzlvrU Airline: Emirates Airlines Equipment: Airbus A380 Genre: Complete In-Flight Flying Experience on Emirates Airbus A380 Route: DUBAI - NEW YORK (JFK) Subscribe for Upcoming Videos - http://www.youtube.com/subscription_center?add_user=seatgurus My 20 Tips on Flying an Airbus A380 (in no particular order) #1 Book early and go online and select your seat. Keep in mind that you cannot lean your head against windows (and sleep). #2 Carry an empty plastic bottle and ask the crew to fill it up with water. To land fresh you must drink a lot of water and the small glasses that serve you are not enough and you'll end up pissing the crew off by constantly asking for water. Ideally start hydrating a week before your trip! #3 As you plan your trip, start working out or walking 30 mins a day... in other words, the fitter you are the less of a strain upon arrival. #4 Remember, you are going to have a long line at the Immigration counters with over 450 passengers on this plane. And add to the number of bags that you'll find on the belt, its going to take some time to get out - so if you have connecting flights make sure its at least 3-5 hours in hand to catch that flight. #5 Always ask for special meals. Those meals come first and you will be done before the folks next to you get their food. You wont be jousting elbows over that piece of respective chicken. Plus, the food is piping hot. #6 If its a all day flight, try get a little nap but if its an overnight flight, try getting sleep by popping a pill. Maybe a over the counter sleeping aid. #7 Dont drink beer etc. You are only going to dehydrate yourself. #8 Always take your contact lenses off. If you dont wear lenses, always carry eyedrops..your eyes will get dry on these ultra long distant flights #9 Always carry lip balm/chapstick, extra pair of pants and t-shirt. U saw what happened to me, luckily the seatbelt saved my day or else I would have changed. If I didnt have a change - disaster lol. #10 Sit on any first row of seats in the respective four section of economy. Plenty of legspace and easy to move about. #11 This aircraft has no lounge area in economy, so taking a walk for circulation is tough call. If you really have to stretch then go right in front (where you saw me putting on my shoes). It quiet there too #12 Carry a book, just in case you cant find anything good to watch (which I highly doubt cos there are tons of movies etc). Or, just in case your screen does not work!! #13 DO NOT keep an ink pen in your pocket. It will leak and ruin your shirt/pant (due to the air pressure) #14 Make sure you get your USB cable with you so you can keep your phone charged (peace of mind). #15 No point zipping out your state of the art laptop in economy - you wont have room to really enjoy! #16 Jetlag. Remember, when you fly West - you are going to feel sleepy early and you'll wake up early for a few days upon arrival. Flying East - you will goto bed later and wake up later (which is a problem). That is why, flying east is bad in terms of jetlag because not everyone can sleep in late, so you tend to get tired easy as the day goes by....so try adjust accordingly. #17 When you check in - ask them to put FRAGILE sticker on ur bags. Those bags are loaded at the end (on top) and taken off first. However, with the A380 - there are just too many bags for this strategy to work #18 Dont eat Indian curry etc day before or during the flight. It may give you bad case of gas! That is why you will always see me eat the bland seafood! #19 Wear loose shoes #20 Finally, just enjoy the ride, you wont be doing this everyday! Cheers....and hope this helped. Happy flying!

The Food Studies program (http://www.newschool.edu/ce/foodstudies) at The New School presents The Future of Food. A mayor who understands the importance of food is critical to achieving a healthier, fairer, more sustainable, and economically stronger food system. Several of New York City's leading food systems organizations and institutions are convening a mayoral candidate forum on the future of food in New York City moderated by Marion Nestle, award-winning author and Paulette Goddard Professor in the Department of Nutrition, Food Studies, and Public Health at New York University. 2013 New York City Mayoral Candidates: - Sal Albanese, Former NYC Council Member - John Catsimatidis, Owner and Chairman, Gristedes Foods - Bill de Blasio, NYC Public Advocate - John Liu, NYC Comptroller - Christine Quinn, Speaker, NYC Council - Anthony Weiner, Former New York Congressman The Food Studies program at The New School draws on a range of disciplines to explore the connections between food and the environment, politics, history, and culture. Food Studies at The New School | http://www.newschool.edu/ce/foodstudies New Yorkers' awareness of every aspect of the food system has never been greater and, in the past decade, significant progress has been made in improving it. But we know that much more must be done. This year is an important election year for food. Now, perhaps like never before, there is immense momentum across the city to address the most pressing food system issues. Citizens, not-for-profit organizations, local businesses, foundations, and government in recent years have worked to address hunger, improve public health, support regional agriculture, and make the food system fairer. This election is an opportunity to reflect on the progress we've made, but also to recognize what is left undone. School of Undergraduate Studies | http://www.newschool.edu/public-engagement/undergraduate-studies The forum will offer our city's and our region's food communities -- the opportunity to come together and engage mayoral candidates, learn their positions on food issues, and inspire them with a vision for a better food system. The New York City's Department of Records co-hosts an evening celebrating the city's cultural heritage. A group based right here in New York is taking the lime light--Shen Yun Performing Arts. The dance and music company specializes in promoting and reviving traditional Chinese culture. The link between this ancient culture and New York's Department of Records may be stronger than you would think. Deputy Commissioner Eileen Flannely explains. [Eileen Flannelly, Deputy Commissioner, NYC Dept. of Records]: "There in our collections there is material from everywhere. And as you can imagine, the Chinese have had a huge influence in this city, with the culture, with their trainings, teachings. So when Shen Yun sent me a letter saying would you like to do a tea ceremony, we got together and we started to chat and we said, you know there is so much more than just a tea ceremony that you can do here." Wednesday's event was complete with a fashion show showcasing award-winning pieces of clothing from NTD's Han Couture Design Competition and a presentation about Shen Yun Performing Arts and how they are reviving China's ancient traditions. [Jean Mitchell, VP Media Relations, Shen Yun Promotions International]: "Tonight they are highlighting their records in New York city, of the Chinese ethnic people here. So this gave us a great opportunity -as you know the Chinese New Year is February 10th- to promote Shen Yun Performing Arts, which is rooted in traditional Chinese culture." [Randall Berman, COO, Continental Food and Beverage, Inc]: "I think It's been an excellent presentation here this evening, the tea ceremony was done extremely well, so I very much enjoyed that." After the presentation about Shen Yun, Randall Berman says he is not going to miss their show in New York this year. [Randall Berman, COO, Continental Food and Beverage, Inc]: "I plan on going online early. Because I know that it does sell out, so I want to get my tickets early." The New York Department of Records is now displaying the Chinese components of their collection at their building on Chambers Street in Manhattan. Shen Yun will be playing 11 shows in at New York City's Lincoln Center from April 20th through the 28th.

Libaya Baba means "Grandfather's Grandchildren." The group consists of three brothers Jeffrey, Kelsie, and Dayton Bernardez, and their cousin, Greg Palacio. Their first influence came from their grandfather, Cyril Antonio, and other master drummers of Dangriga, Belize. After migrating to Los Angeles, California, in the late 1970s, they felt the need to preserve their indigenous Garifuna culture, which has both Caribbean and West African elements. Libaya Baba has retained the traditional format of call and response in songs, to uphold the memory of their ancestors. Their music is accompanied by a pair of Sisira (maracas), one Primero (small wooden snare drum), two Segundas (mid size & large wooden bass drums) Conch and Turtle shells. The genres of music they play include Hungu-hungu, Paranda, Punta, Kuliou, Wanaragua, Hupi Malad, Warini, Gunjei, "Two for Shilling," Chumba and Charikanari. http://democracynow.org - New York has become the first state in the nation with major natural gas deposits to ban the oil and gas extraction process of hydraulic fracturing, known as fracking, citing potential risks to public health. Fracking involves blasting sand, water and toxic chemicals deep into shale rock to release oil and gas, a process which can poison water supplies and pollute the air. Older adult falls are common, deadly, and costly. The New York State Older Adult Fall Prevention Program offers proven programs that save money and keep older New Yorkers safe, secure, and independent, by educating physicians to assess fall risk in older patients and refer them to proven programs to help them reduce their risk. In 2012, led by Champion Dr. Frank Floyd, United Health Services (UHS) in Broome County became the first healthcare system in the country to adopt STEADI. Today 170+ physicians across 17 practices within UHS assess older adult patients for fall risk and refer them to proven community programs, such as Tai Chi: Moving for Better Balance and Stepping On, to help them reduce their risk of falling and to lead a longer, healthier life. https://www.health.ny.gov/prevention/injury_prevention/falls.htm http://gobroomecounty.com/hd/strategic-alliance

New York City's Board of Health voted Thursday to ban the sale of sugary drinks in containers larger than 16 ounces in restaurants and other venues, in a move meant to combat obesity and encourage residents to live healthier lifestyles. The board voted eight in favor, with one abstention. "It's time to face the facts: obesity is one of America's most deadly problems, and sugary beverages are a leading cause of it," said New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg in a statement earlier this month. "As the size of sugary drinks has grown, so have our waistlines -- and so have diabetes and heart disease." But the move is expected to draw further protest from the soda industry and those concerned about government involvement in their personal choices.

http://www.expedia.com/New-York.d178293.Destination-Travel-Guides New York City is an international metropolis built on the shoulders of immigrants and their descendants. New York City is home to eight million people, and the city receives more than 50 million visitors per year. No New York sightseeing is complete without a visit to Times Square, which you’ve no doubt seen in many movies. Take in its billboards, its many people, and its food, then cross over to Central Park, which comprises 850 acres of lakes and meadows, and is the setting for many a romantic comedy. You also have your pick of art and history museums, as well as the Reflecting Absence Memorial and Museum, where you can pay your respects to the victims of 9/11. Our recent week in New York City was an action-packed one. We decided to set ourselves a challenge to see and do as much as we possibly could, and that gave way to this travel video guide which highlights 50 of the top attractions. In a city like New York this means we barely scratched the surface, but hopefully this video will highlight the cornucopia of possibilities that is the Big Apple. We try our best to cover all of the top attractions including fine arts, entertainment, festivals, dining, architecture and museums as well as focusing on lesser known off the beaten path attractions to cover all forms of tourism. If you only have time to visit only one city in the United States it ought to be NYC, USA: http://nomadicsamuel.com/photo-essays/50-things-to-do-in-new-york-city 50 Things to do in New York City Top Attractions Travel Guide: 1 Grand Central Terminal 2 The High Line 3 Meatpacking District 4 Greenwich Village 5 Brooklyn Bridge 6 Williamsburg 7 Street Art in Williamsburg 8 Prospect Park 9 Dumbo 10 New York Style Pizza 11 Bryant Park 12 New York Public Library 13 Staten Island Ferry 14 Statue of Liberty 15 Battery Park 16 Little Italy 17 Little Korea 18 Chinatown 19 Coney Island 20 Mermaid Parade 21 The Cloisters 22 Harlem's Apollo Theatre 23 Soul Food in Harlem at Sylvia's 24 World Trade Center Memorial 25 Trinity Church 26 Wall Street 27 Lincoln Center 28 Ride a Bicycle 29 Watch a New York Yankees baseball game at Yankee Stadium 30 MET Museum (Metropolitan Museum of Art) 31 Flatiron Building 32 Washington Square Park 33 NYU (New York University) 34 National Museum of the American Indian 35 Museum of Natural History 36 Times Square 37 MOMA (Museum of Modern Art) 38 Roosevelt Island Tramway 39 Fifth Avenue Shopping 40 Rockefeller Center 41 Empire State Building 42 Carnegie Hall 43 Central Park 44 Strawberry Fields 45 Street Food 46 Catch a Broadway Theatre Performance 47 Madison Square Garden 48 African Burial Ground 49 Columbus Circle 50 Take the Subway Metro Most journeys begin at Penn Station or Grand Central, and if you arrive at the later you'll be wowed by the building. The Meatpacking District was once home to markets, slaughterhouses, and packaging plants, but times have changed. Today you'll find a mixture of trendy restaurants, clubs and boutiques. The Village used to be a bohemian neighborhood that drew artists and musicians, but today you're more likely to find upper middle class families living here. Completed in 1883, Brooklyn Bridge is one of the oldest suspension bridges in the United States. Williamsburg has become popular given its lower rent prices. University students and young professionals have been flocking to this part of town. You can walk along the riverfront for a great view of the Brooklyn and Manhattan Bridges and the Manhattan skyline. During the summer months, Bryant Park also becomes a popular hangout spot people looking to relax and even work on their tans. The Staten Island Ferry is free of charge and this makes it really popular with visitors who want to catch a glimpse of the Statue of Liberty from a distance. Battery Park is located on the southern tip of Manhattan. Having both lived in South Korea, we were thrilled to come across Manhattan's own Little Korea. Coney Island is all about good old fashioned fun. You can ride roller coasters, stroll down the boardwalk, enjoy some beach time, and then head over the Nathan's Famous hot dogs. The Cloisters will make you feel like you've travelled over to Europe. Central Park is massive and there are so many places to visit within its boundaries. We managed to visit Belvedere Castle, the Great Lawn, Shakespeare Garden, The Ramble, The Jackie Onassis Reservoir, the Alice in Wonderland Statue, and we still left feeling like we barely scratched the surface. Strawberry Fields is a section of Central Park dedicated to the memory of John Lennon. And that concludes a look at our very busy week in New York City. I'm still shocked we managed to cover so many attractions, but the great thing about this city is that distances aren't very long and there's always something really cool worth checking out around each corner. Have you been to New York? What are your favorite things about this city? Feel free to share your thoughts in the comments section below. This is part of our Travel in the United State of America series. We're making a series of videos showcasing American culture, American arts, American foods, American cuisine, American religion and American people. New York City. Travel / Tourism. New York – often called New York City or the City of New York to distinguish it from the State of New York, of which it is a part – is the most populous city in the United States and the center of the New York metropolitan area, the premier gateway for legal immigration to the United States and one of the most populous urban agglomerations in the world. A global power city, New York exerts a significant impact upon commerce, finance, media, art, fashion, research, technology, education, and entertainment. Home to the headquarters of the United Nations, New York is an important center for international diplomacy and has been described as the cultural and financial capital of the world. On one of the world's largest natural harbors, New York City consists of five boroughs, each of which is a county of New York State. The five boroughs – Brooklyn, Queens, Manhattan, the Bronx, and Staten Island – were consolidated into a single city in 1898. With a census-estimated 2013 population of 8,405,837 distributed over a land area of just 305 square miles (790 km2), New York is the most densely populated major city in the United States. As many as 800 languages are spoken in New York, making it the most linguistically diverse city in the world. By 2013 census estimates, the New York City metropolitan region remains by a significant margin the most populous in the United States, as defined by both the Metropolitan Statistical Area (19.9 million residents) and the Combined Statistical Area (23.5 million residents) In 2013, the MSA produced a gross metropolitan product (GMP) of nearly US$1.39 trillion, while in 2012, the CSA generated a GMP of over US$1.55 trillion, both ranking first nationally by a wide margin and behind the GDP of only twelve nations and eleven nations, respectively. New York traces its roots to its 1624 founding as a trading post by colonists of the Dutch Republic and was named New Amsterdam in 1626. The city and its surroundings came under English control in 1664. New York served as the capital of the United States from 1785 until 1790. It has been the country's largest city since 1790. The Statue of Liberty greeted millions of immigrants as they came to America by ship in the late 19th and early 20th centuries and is a globally recognized symbol of the United States and its democracy. Many districts and landmarks in New York City have become well known to the city's approximately 55 million annual visitors. Several sources have ranked New York the most photographed city in the world. Times Square, iconified as "The Crossroads of the World", is the brightly illuminated hub of the Broadway Theater District, one of the world's busiest pedestrian intersections, and a major center of the world's entertainment industry. The names of many of the city's bridges, skyscrapers, and parks are known around the world. New York City's financial district, anchored by Wall Street in Lower Manhattan, has been called the world's leading financial center, and the city is home to the world's two largest stock exchanges by total market capitalization, the New York Stock Exchange and NASDAQ. Manhattan's real estate market is among the most expensive in the world. Manhattan's Chinatown incorporates the highest concentration of Chinese people in the Western Hemisphere, with multiple signature Chinatowns developing across the city. Providing continuous 24/7 service, the New York City Subway is one of the most extensive metro systems worldwide, with 468 stations in operation. New York City's higher education network comprises over 120 colleges and universities, including Columbia University, New York University, and Rockefeller University, which have been ranked among the top 35 in the world. Travel video about destination New York in the United States of America. New York is capital city of the American Dream, with its population drawn from each corner of the world. The Empire State Building is a symbol of the glamour and fascination of this frenetic city, yet the Chrysler building is just as imposing, its unusual tower being decorated with car motifs such as bonnets, hub caps and car wheels of the 1930‘s. Wall Street derived its name from a wall which had been erected to protect the emerging town from attack by Native American Indians and now most of the city is an open powerhouse of ceaseless activity with a constant mêlée of car horns, sirens, and screeching tyres.Greenwich Village is one of the few areas of the city that has no clearly-defined symmetry. Attractive steps grace many of its 19th century houses of red brick and brown sandstone and, until the 1960‘s, many important artists and authors lived there, such as Edgar Allen Poe and Henry James. Little Italy, Chinatown, The Brooklyn Bridge, Central Park, Ellis Island, The Statue of Liberty, Broadway, Times Square…each has its own colourful stories to tell amid the fantastic man-made Manhattan glass horizons: the skyscrapers which shamelessly reach up to the heavens and exclaim that New York is most assuredly the commercial capital of the universe.

http://www.expedia.com/Times-Square-New-York.d502080.Vacation-Attraction When you’ve explored Central Park and Midtown Manhattan, it’s time to tour Times Square. This is the glowing center of the New York Theater District. When you picture New York, Times Square is probably the second thing that comes to mind (after the city’s famous skyline), with its neon signs, giant buildings, and constant stream of humanity coming and going. Times Square adopted its name in 1904, after the New York Times moved in. The newspaper has since moved on, but the moniker stuck. Once you arrive in the Big Apple, head on down to the center of Times Square, where you’ll find a plaza for you to sit, hang out, and people-watch. Shop at the many stores lining the Square, or lean back to see the top of notable buildings belonging to businesses like Hershey and M&M.; When the sun goes down, the lights shine even brighter; follow the signs and billboards to the theatres, where you’ll find the musicals, comedies, and dramatic performances you didn’t even realize you were searching for. Your Times Square sightseeing isn’t over after you take in a play, though. Why not explore some of the various restaurants and cafes that are open late at night? After all, New York is The City That Never Sleeps—why should you? http://www.expedia.com/Central-Park.d6056463.Destination-Travel-Guides New York City’s Central Park, which is made up of lakes, gardens, and meadows, spans more than 50 blocks. It was originally envisioned as a space where anyone – no matter what their station in life – could meditate and interact. These days, America’s most famous urban center hosts over 30 million visitors per year. You’ll find a multitude of things to do if you’re sightseeing in Central Park. Sit down for a picnic on the Great Lawn, or wander through the park’s bridges and pathways, looking for its many sculptures. If you know where to look, you’ll find Hans Christian Andersen and Balto the sled dog. Traveling with a loved one? Why not share a kiss at the Bethesda Fountain and Terrace? Alternatively, you can rent a boat from Loeb Boathouse and attempt to impress your sweetheart with a trip around the lake. If you’re a fan of Shakespeare’s plays, your Central Park tour must pause at the Shakespeare Garden, which features the flora and fauna mentioned in his works. Beatles fans, don’t forget to pay homage at the Strawberry Fields Memorial, a 2.5-acre section of the park dedicated to the memory of John Lennon. It’s safe to say that there’s something in Central Park for just about everyone. Whether you’re sending a remote-controlled boat across the Conservatory Waters or admiring the view from Belvedere Castle, you’ll find a number of wonderful ways to spend your day. What’s your favorite part of Central Park? The New York Renaissance -- the first all African-American pro basketball team that time forgot: http://abcn.ws/1Aw27eG That is one odd video preview! So? I had a bag of all-black licorice once? Will you come interview me too? Making color is irrelevant just as much if their uniform colors or underwear were the same color...dumbasses! As soon as a black person talks about racism all the racist come out to remind us that they are there, as though we could forget. The Independent 2015-04-17New York (/njuː ˈjɔrk/; locally IPA: [nɪu ˈjɔək] or [nuː ˈjɔɹk] ( listen)) is a state in the Northeastern region of the United States. New York is the 27th most extensive, the 3rd most populous, and the 7th most densely populated of the 50 United States. New York is bordered by New Jersey and Pennsylvania to the south, and by Connecticut, Massachusetts and Vermont to the east. The state has a maritime border with Rhode Island east of Long Island, as well as an international border with the Canadian provinces of Ontario to the west and north, and Quebec to the north. The state of New York is often referred to as New York State to distinguish it from New York City.
New York City, with a population of over 8.1 million, is the most populous city in the United States. Alone, it makes up over 40 percent of the population of New York state. It is known for its status as a center for finance and culture and for its status as the largest gateway for immigration to the United States. According to the U.S. Department of Commerce, New York City is also a destination of choice for many foreign visitors. Both the state and city were named for the 17th century Duke of York, James Stuart, future James II and VII of England and Scotland.
I'm running, running through the jungle
Running like a slave through the underground tunnel
Told you all niggas better get these bitches
Cause I spit till my lips need 16 stitches
I am, lyrical intrusion,
You bitches can't see me like I'm really an illusion
I hop upon your face and do my motherfucking tooth that
Till I know the meat out like a motherfucking toothpick
Ah, I'm nasty nigga, like Nas like kim, like Cassie bitches
Like I'm fucking Chris dope or that raspy nigga
Or the skin on the feet of a ashy nigga
I am, whatever they say I am
Bumping like the asses on them thick bitches at stadiums
Fuck them other bitches I sound better in the place of them
I kill this shit this the motherfucking raping
Sick bitch, chicken noodle soup face
Calls from oversea like a motherfucking crusade
Crack rock and you hit it till your nose hurts
Rooftop Brooklyn, made the shit and cover
I run New York, I run New York
I am 0 past a hundred, spitting like a dragon
That wnt missing from a dungeon
Y'all a bunch of niggas getting trippy off of nothing
Tie a rope around your neck and let me kick you off a bungee
I'm satan, and I'ma take your ass to church now
Running my fields and you midgets on your first down
I love it, when these bitches know I'm better than them
Cause I don't hear, not a word or a letter from them
I'm a fire, enemies of the force round
Bitches and I rap, elliptical, all it's round
Bitches and a condo, I sit with an open mouth
Bitches and you bitches are lyrically
Like some fucking down syndrome, no offence
No shame in all, but y'all bitches on knees like baby claws
You can catch me out in Cover, chilling like a stoop kid
Yeah hate don't talk bitch do
Sick bitch, chicken noodle soup face
Calls from oversea like a motherfucking crusade
Crack rock and you hit it till your nose hurts
Rooftop Brooklyn, made the shit and cover
I run New York, I run New York
I'm lyrical coming on general
Take shots when I was a criminal
Don't stop, continue on running around
But never... some of the shit that I'm fin to do
Y'all... that I'm giving you
If you front, I'm gonn put and end to you
I'm like scorpion, bitch I will finish you
Making nasty, real, real nasty
Way you bitches running like you will get past me
Won't happen you bitches could get on, when I'm off it
Try to cross me now, you be gone in a coffin
It's just me, myself and I
Talk tough shit and I'ma beat you till you die
Ask why, because I'm better than you'll ever be
That's why shit negotiate seems lighter than heavy d
Sick bitch, chicken noodle soup face
Calls from oversea like a motherfucking crusade
Crack rock and you hit it till your nose hurts
Rooftop Brooklyn, made the shit and cover
I hear the train all night
Sound of its wind blowing through our subtle lives
And I have a job to do walking these cars
Walking all asleep to get to you
But I don't feel your stir beside me
And your not in my morning hour
Some ties are made to break
Some stalks grow high and green to run away
And feel the wake
And these lines tell the truth
These city veins answer all you do
So could you keep me in the pulses
Could you keep me in the sound
I got wise and I got old
Not once, not once did I fall
So don't you know
Maybe you bet on me
While we were still young enough to know
Or to believe
For every year you took
For every soft breathe or loving look
Believe me
And don't keep me like you have me
And don't kiss me like you don't
I got wise and I got old
Not once, not once did I fall
So don't you now
Some land holds a home
Some of my years only hold me to Rome
But I tell myself its true
You see a home you see a man
You see it too
And I say don't you know you have her
Go on kiss her now you boy
I got wise and I got old
Not once, not once did I fall
So don't you now
I got wise and I got old
Not once, not once did I fall
Please can we go away
Get out of here somehow today
For a place that I've heard on the radio
Never sleeps
I'll get a job in a bar
And you could be a waitress and serve cheap cigars
To fat mustachio men in suits
You'll look cute
Fuck what they say
And fuck it if they talk
It really don't matter
We're going to New York
Oh, hold on to me
I'm gonna get you out, I'm gonna set you free
To a place that I've heard on the radio
Never sleeps
I'll get a job in a bar
You could be a waitress and serve cheap cigars
To fat mustachio men in suits
You'll look cute
Fuck what they say
Fuck it if they talk
It really don't matter
One two three four one
I didn't get no sleep last night
Had a drink and I got uptight
I fell over
When the sun comes in inside
When the tide comes in I'm alive
I'm all over, so move over
Here I come New York
New York, you're gaining on me
New York, you're just that one step far away
But I'm here to stay
New York, (you're gaining on me) stop gaining on me
New York, you're just that one step far away
But I'm here to stay
The sun is falling on New York City
There's so many things that I could say to you
That I'll never say
There's so many places we could go
There's so many faces, I could tell
Just by the way you walk, that tonight you're from New
York
Walking down the avenues
Where mysteries are often solved
On the island with the tallest apple tree
Where animals ride bicycles
And men become cannon balls
Lovers ride the famous wonder wheel
There's so many things that I could say to you
That I'll never say
There's so many places we could go
There's so many faces, I could tell
Just by the way you walk, that tonight you're from New
York
And tonight I'm from New York
Honey you're not the only one to sail across the world
To be here
Put your dreams in your pocket, girl It takes more than
charm
It takes fever
So sweat it out and take this chance tonight
Tomorrow may not be here
It's the city that takes a fight and stares you down
Are you ready to be here
Are you ready to be here
Tonight
There's so many things that I could say to you
That I'll never say
There's so many places we could go
There's so many faces, I could tell
Just by the way you walk, that tonight you're from New
York
Oh, and tonight I'm from New York
In New York, we buried our heads in the sand,
like a junkie needs his fix, like a hooker needs her tricks,
In New York, we danced like two birds on a stick,
like confusion breeds despair, like all politicians care.
I must have been a fool to listen to you,
my friend,
I still love you, still pretend, cool,
my friend,
I still love you, still pretend.
In New York, we swam like a dog in the sun,
like a critic needs a shield, like a chicken needs a field,
In New York, we sat like a bus stop in hell,
like a spotlight has to fade, like a wanker wearing shades.
I must have been a fool to listen to you,
my friend,
I still love you, still pretend, cool,
my friend,
I still love you, still pretend.
In New York, we gave every penny to lust,
like a bulldog needs a smile, like a novel takes a while,
like a prophet needs to think, like a case of kitchen sink (?)
like confession breeds/ needs remorse, like suspicion runs its course,
like a model needs a look, like a mother needs to cook,
like a sweetheart needs a date, like appearing slightly late,
like a beating begs revenge, like a hippy needs stone henge,
like a gangster needs a gang, like a killer needs to hang.
I must have been a fool to listen to you,
my friend,
I still love you, still pretend, cool,
my friend,
I still love you, still pretend.
Like a telephone needs calls, like a lesbian needs balls,
like I'm always second best, like I've got it off my chest,
like a mystic needs to fate, like a glutton needs to sate,
like a lawyer needs a law, like a millionaire needs more,
like escapists need to go, like a winner has to gloat,
like all time will surely heal, like a santa claus is real,
like a tenant needs the rent, like all fury needs a vent,
like a ?????, like affairs all need a ???
like a popgroup needs a sound, like a penny makes a pound,
like I'm shooting from the hip, like all suitcase needs equip (?)
like a jockey needs a whip, like a belly needs to slip,
like a cheetah ? the sea, like a vicar needs more tea,
like a massochist needs Spain, and like a cavalan needs pain
New-York, New York
Ça c'est du nouveau
Je viens d'y penser
Je veux partir à ta conquête New-York New-York
J'ai comme un grand show au bout des souliers
J'ai mis de l'or à mes paillettes New-York New-York
If you were here beside me,
Instead of in New York
If the curve of you was curved on me
I'd tell you that I loved you
Before I even knew you
'Cause I loved the simple thought of you
If our hearts had never broken
Well there's no joy in the mending
So much this hurt can teach us both
There's distance and there's silence
Your words have never left me
They're the prayer that I say every day
Come on come out come here come here
Come on come out come here come here
Come on come out come here come here
Come on come out come here come here
The lone neon lights
And the heat of the ocean
And the fire that had started to spark
I miss it all from the love to the lightning
And the lack of it snaps me in two
If you were here beside me
Instead of New York
In the arms you said you'd never leave
I'd tell you that it's simple
And it was only ever thus
There is nowhere else that I belong
Come on come out come here come here
Come on come out come here come here
Come on come out come here come here
Come on come out come here come here
The lone neon lights
And the want of the ocean
And the fire that had started to spark
I miss it all from the love to the lightning
And the lack of it snaps me in two
Just give me a sign
There is end in a beginning
Til the quiet chaos driving me mad
The lone neon lights
And the want of the ocean
And the fire that had started to go out
Was it Washington Square
Or the way you wore you hair?
Was it central park
Or kissing after dark?
Guess I'll never know
Not sure I even care
But my heart will always live
With you and me there
But I can't afford to live in N.Y.C.
Ahahahah
And she can't afford to leave
hahah
Was it the Sea Port in June
Or your face by the moon?
Was it Soho's charm
Or you and I arm in arm?
Was it the 6 train uptown
Or true love that I found?
It all blends into one
When I think of you now
But I can't afford to live in N.Y.C.
Ahahahah
And she can't afford to leave
Ahahah
Well I know that a promise is to keep
But money's tight and I've been losing sleep
Old Man Circumstance will have his way
It's true
But what I wouldn't give to stay here with you
And I can't afford to live in N.Y.C.
Ahahahah
And she can't afford to leave
Ahahah
And I've never been good with good-byes
[Intro: Lon Dini (Fes Taylor)]
Dini, baby, Two 4 War (The Milli is back)
We about to blow, you faggot niggaz ain't ready, man
Know I mean? (Return of The Milli)
Dini forever, man, L.I., Baby Pa, L.G.P.
(You niggaz ain't ready) Get Fresh Crew
Let's do it (You don't got a choice but to get ready)
[Lon Dini:]
Yo, I flow through, anti-social
You clown niggaz loco, I fuck bad bitches on every postal
Move and you see it come through with new recruits
Cause I keep baggies and boots, and niggaz'll shoot
Like I said before I write it on spot, I'm going straight to the top
Like the yae when it touches the pot
Only the kid Dini can do this, smooth but I'm ruthless
Violators get chased down and beat toothless
Two of the kicks sounding like the tank let off
We and Taylor hopped in the '07 shit and jet off
Grandpa asleep, I'm in the room chopping grams
How dare you faggot fucks ever try to bite the hand
Of the man that feeds you, the man that leads you
Guerilla warfare, motherfucker, we breed crews
Bang on you faggot ass clowns
All you cowards scatter like fucking roaches when you hear that sound
Yea, huh...
[Hook x2: Fes Taylor]
New York, New York
[Pa Bazil:]
Yo, yo, check it
They say a measure of a man is measured by his accomplishments
When you wack, fool, you get no acknowledgement
Just gotta swallow it, back to the drawing board
When it gets too tough and we might write some songs for y'all
Hit it like Arthur with murderous ways
With the help of my niggaz we'll take over this place
Just like a moment of fate, it was written in the cards
Like the Sun was a line between the moon and the stars
And by the way, my name is the Pa
I done fathered many styles on the Shao' so get ready for more
You never know what he's holding in store
You gotta guess it's ugly
Been through the line of fire so I bet the rest is nothing
I figure less discussion, more action and destruction
At anyone who has the audac' to try and send me something
[Fes Taylor:]
Myspace.com, we got spins like Flex dropped the bomb
Modern day King Kong, alright, building in my palm
Twin Tower of P, that's my my charm
This ain't back in the days, my beeper's gone
Yea, we on that Nextel chirp, I got work
I promote like I got milk right in the dirt
Uh-huh, feel the worms and the snakes pass by
My cash buy, anything I want so I ain't gotta ask why
Fast fry like french fries, cause my cash pries
Ultimate hustler but I don't got Damon Dash ties
Now I arise from the dead, my niggaz lost lives and they bled
Blow it through Mexico, hide it from the feds
Yea, yea, Federallis, firearms, you never carry
See me crack a smile, not necessarily happy
I growl at the beat, I'm just starting to bark
Then I bite, step on ya toes, paw on ya Clark's
Ferrari is parked, you shook when the lobby is dark
The beat gasoline, probably'll spark
Fire, nigga, fire alarms, stop, look, admire the Don
Cars on cinder blocks, tires is gone
Fly as the Fonz, never went bronze
But I'm trying to stunt gold sold this pair of LeBrons
How we do things, even my shoes bling
Willie Rocks, tell 'em these ain't rhymes, those in a shoe string
This my new thing, Taylor and Pa Bazil
Dini, Lis, Gil put his cards on the table
We dealing with a royal flush
(GUITAR & DRUMS INTRO)
Welcome to the city, welcome to disaster
You see a pretty girl, but you're walkin' right past her
You give it up, get it back, Turn around and ask her
She don't talk back so you talk a little faster
Winkin' in a snapshot, wavin' like a bigshot
You're feelin' pretty good 'til you think you hear a gunshot
Another punk outta junk, Breakin' in a pawn shop
Cops yell freeze so you take another snapshot
Ah ... it's New York
Ah ... it's New York
I guess everything my daddy told me was right
When you're in the Big Apple
Then you better learn to take a bite
(HARP SOLO)
I guess everything my daddy told me was right
When you're in the Big Apple
Then you better learn to take a bite
Workin' in a hotel, workin for the housedick
You stop a little girl who's pullin' in her own tricks
Talk awhile, get a smile, Make another sidekick
It won't last long but it beats feelin' homesick
Jumpin' in a taxi, gotta see the band play
It's on a little sidestreet, a little off of Broadway
You make a turn, then you learn, You're goin' down the wrong way
The cabby wants a tip 'cause he got you there the hard way
Ah ... it's New York
Ah ... it's New York
Ah ... it's New York
Ah ... it's New York
(GUITAR STUFF)
It's New York
(GUITAR & HARP STUFF)
It's New York
This is, this is,
This is, this is,
Im about Unity,
Greetings from Miami Dade County Florida
Listennn,
One's for the trouble,
Two's for the show,
Three's for the base and that limelight glow,
I know, you thinking that this game is over,
Oh no, the wait is over,
New York is back.
Lemme see your hands, wave em side to side
Put em up high, lets ride because
New York is back
Lemme see your hands, wave em side to side
Put em up high, lets ride because
New York is back
Yo the hammer and the muzzle came together,
All I had did was hold on to the pieces untill the puzzle came together,
Before it all got hyped,
I was in the corridor,
Apple before it got riped.
So I aint gotta act like,
I'm on top of, or in front of them,
If I aint the best dog then I'm one of them,
Listenn I'm a different kind of boss,
I'm Cut from a different kind of cloth,
These niggas is different kind of soft.
Everybody know it all,
Nobody follow a protocal,
The money's only good until you blow it all.
Stacking every cents,
Guliani knocked John Gotti, What?
So now he's running for president.
It's a shame what the game's became,
But the truth is,
There's really nobody to blame,
But the music.
Lets give it a minute,
Wtih no wack gimmicks,
Just hard beats and rhymes,
blow breath back in it.
One's for the trouble,
Two's for the show,
Three's for the base and that limelight glow,
I know, you thinking that this game is over,
Oh no, the wait is over,
New York is back.
Lemme see your hands, wave em side to side
Put em up high, lets ride because
New York is back
Lemme see your hands, wave em side to side
Put em up high, lets ride because
New York is back
Mutha Fucka i'm the heart and sole of this,
You claim king, but we in control of this,
Name another rapper you see on the streets,
huggin the block at the height of a beef,
Yellow tape and white sheets,
Yea that's my back drop whenever I speak,
I know alotta y'all would love to ice me,
make my head jerk like I'm doing the hyphy.
But that'll never happen, get on some sick shit,
Like fifteen in you, and one in your infant,
Joe's the business, Ask about me,
In the middle of the desert,
and they still can drought me.
You know Coka baby he stay on that new york shit,
You see weezy coming down on that forklift,
And money aint a thing, unless he come off with
Then Ima have to hit em with these little bricks often.
One's for the trouble,
Two's for the show,
Three's for the base and that limelight glow,
I know, you thinking that this game is over,
Oh no, the wait is over,
New York is back.
Lemme see your hands, wave em side to side
Put em up high, lets ride because
New York is back
Lemme see your hands, wave em side to side
Put em up high, lets ride because
New York is back
New york, New York nigga never went no where,
I just took off a couple of years,
But Now I'm back on my day to day,
Old school, Gucci frames like day to day,
Who gone tell New york times up, Flava flav,
Cuz as much as things change it remains the same
And you can gimme the city of God
And Mecca, the temple, the mas
An inspiration, the inception, The art..
Of Hip Hip was born
And the rap game was formed
From niggas dead broke, sell drugs, bear arms
Against all odds,
and argue all day about who's a bigger star,
Joe, Jada, or Ja.
SO close but so far,
So many there's no star,
I can't belive Fifty Cent and NY fell off,
And L.A. came back, and the south is running shit,
Then one blood group, shit's all developing, NEW YORK
One's for the trouble,
Two's for the show,
Three's for the base and that limelight glow,
I know, you thinking that this game is over,
Oh no, the wait is over,
New York is back.
Lemme see your hands, wave em side to side
Put em up high, lets ride because
New York is back
Lemme see your hands, wave em side to side
Put em up high, lets ride because
New York is back
An imitation from New York
You're made in Japan from cheese and chalk
You're hippy tarts hero 'cos you put on a bad show
You put on a bad show, oh, don't it show
Still out on those pills
Oh, do you remember?
Think it's swell playing Max's Kansas
You're looking bored and you're acting flash
With nothing in your gut you better keep your mouth shut
You better keep your mouth shut, in a rut
Still out on those pills
Do the sambo
You're four years on, you still look the same
I think it's about time you changed you brain
You're just a pile of shit, you're coming to this
You poor little fagot
You're sealed with a kiss
Kiss me
Think it's swell playing in Japan
When everybody knows Japan is a dishpan
You're just a pile of shit, you're coming to this
You poor little fagot
You're sealed with a kiss
Still out on those pills
Cheap thrills, Anadins, Aspros anything
You're condemned to eternal bullshit
You're sealed with a kiss
Kiss me
A kiss, a kiss, you're sealed with a kiss
A looking for a kiss, you're coming to this
I wanna kiss
You do just about anything
Oh, kiss this
Eh, boy
Hey, hey, I know it wasn't New York
Where I lost my mind.
Hey, hey, I know I must have left it
It was back home all the time.
And where were you while we lay
So drunk that we died?
Hey, Hey, I know, but who could blame us?
Under pressure
And I know
I know I should have stayed in bed.
Hey, hey, I know it's just a toothache
I won't even cry.
Hey, hey, the candy store prescriptions
All lined up in the aisles.
And where were you while we lay
Shipwrecked in denial?
Hey, hey, it's just a pill to help you
Sleep right through the night.
I should have stayed in bed.
And I know
I should have stayed in bed.
I know I should have stayed in bed because
Tomorrow's gonna be another party.
You stay too long until the lights get lonely.
Oh, tomorrow's gonna be another party
Wait too long til we
All stay out of the sun.
Sun.
Start spreading the news, I’m leaving today
I want to be a part of it - new york, new york
These vagabond shoes, are longing to stray
Right through the very heart of it - new york, new york
I wanna wake up in a city, that doesn’t sleep
And find I’m king of the hill - top of the heap
These little town blues, are melting away
I’ll make a brand new start of it - in old new york
If I can make it there, I’ll make it anywhere
It’s up to you - new york, new york
New york, new york
I want to wake up in a city, that never sleeps
And find I’m a number one top of the list, king of the hill
A number one
These little town blues, are melting away
I’m gonna make a brand new start of it - in old new york
And if I can make it there, I’m gonna make it anywhere
It up to you - new york new york
New york
instrumental, with wordless
vocals.
She was a back street dancer out-a New Orleans
Been featured once or twice in the small magazin
Doing alright - yes
she's doing alright.
She's on broadway
she's come a long way
Baby
And now she's a star. Ring on every finger and big fancy car
Doing alright - yes
she's doing alright
Got her name up in lights
she's a queen of the night.
You're in New York
you're a star.
A sensation
you are - in the money
And they're applauding you.
You're in New York
you're a star. . . .
You're a diamond studded lady and a race on the stage
You're known across the nation
I guess you got it made.
Doing alright
you're doing alright
you're on Broadway.
You get offers from the movies to appear on the screen
But you're sleeping on it
Baby
'cause it's not quite your scene
Doing alright
you're doing alright
Got your name up in lights
she's the queen of the night.
You're in New York
you're a star. . . .
You're in New York
[Intro: Kool Keith]
Yo, you know what?
You could go to all the states in the world
See girls with long hair, flat stomachs
Goin' back and forth to the gym, workin' out
And they be talkin' to you
You get in New York... girls be frontin'
They have a little bit of tiny hair on they head
Or some just walk around with braids
You can't tell 'em nuttin'
Yo... they be killin' me
[H-Bomb]
Easy mon, blood clot, blood cleat with gold teeth
He peekin' at Kool Keith, Marc Live, and me
We - fly LAX to JFK, take it one way
You twisted, Jacky J ain't plan to stay
I'm on a one way, beamin' a poor chick in L.A.
Play - these chickens, break rules
I pack steels, do big drug deals
You in tennis shoes, where's your heels?
And you expect me to pay for these meals
Where's your spouse?
You live with your moms, is that a mouse
I'm breakin' out bounce, my man Ice-T got a penthouse
Four deep hits, scores, V.I.P.
We fingerbang chickens in lace, no space - fast race
Big Lonnie on Webster Ave with a screw face, briefcase
Three ki's taste with a rusty screw driver and waste
Your right hand man got replaced
You chase - baby makers, parts, heart breakers
Want papers - yes, them Murray gators huh?
You're man work in Manhattan up in Houlihan's as a waiters, laters
You worship them slave owners on green papers, haters
I'm back in L.A. with three hoes in a Wilshire skyscrapers
[Chorus x2]
New York belongs to me!
(Not him, or yooouuuu)
New York belongs to me!
(Not him, or yooouuuu)
[Marc Live]
I walk through your city like a juggernaut
You kids is astronauts, all in space
Right to your face, no welcome mats just welcome caps
A community of big city kids in black hats
Catch me in a New York strip club slappin' a phat ass
You don't get no pass, it's the big three - H, Marc, and Keith
Top general chiefs, no games, forget the friends baby
Let's go straight to the brains, an even exchange
No heated exchange, we show the hotel the after party
Lot of Bacardi and Limon, heavy smoke and plenty of grindin'
I left L.A. real quick to see who's rhymin' -
Who's talkin' mess and who's lyin'
Who shippin' weight express mail, no Greyhound - we flyin'
Forty-two street triple X, we buyin'
Hot 97 nigga gon' play us some new shit, or we gon' start ridin'
Me and Blaze up that spot, you know who we are
High profile, we not buyin' the bar, real grimey
One E & J, one Philly, and jake behind me... BX
[Chorus x1.5]
New York belongs to me!
(Not him, or yooouuuu)
New York belongs to me!
(Not him, or yooouuuu)
[Kool Keith]
I'ma tell you New Yorkers on lock down, the city is my boo
You shoulda called up Clue and made appointments
I'm qualified in the Metropolitan area
I shoulda been on the professional too
None of y'all rappers don't have a rule
Marketing plan out there, y'all know what to do
What up nizza?, with tight beats on destinctive tracks like the RZA
On four DAT's, computer sequence my formats
I step on MC's like subways, rest my feet on rats
8,000 rappers comin' out this summer posin' hard, rhymin' like pussycats
Y'all don't shoot nobody, half of y'all like to scratch -
Like kittens in a batch, most of y'all scared to light a match
Blow birthday candles, y'all dealin' with girls with love handles
Better yet, guys still standin' in front of Fat Beats lookin' for samples
I laught at you holdin' champagne tryin' to walk in the club like Rambo
[Chorus x2]
New York belongs to me!
(Not him, or yooouuuu)
New York belongs to me!
Take my hand and hold it tight, she spoke of a tragedy tonight
Nothing but questions fill my mind,
will this be the end or will we survive Take my hand
I don't understand why all these tears come with laughter
and love makes you cry
When years get you down, let days pick you up
Cause life's a disaster with no one to love you
We met on a train that was New York bound,
her voice sounded scared and her hair was down
One day she left without saying goodbye,
she left just a letter that didn't say why
It said hold on (hold on) It said hold on (hold on) Remember me
She said remember me, remember me
Hold on to memories, remember me
Hold on... to memories, to memories
I don't understand why all these tears come with laughter
and love makes you cry
When years get you down, let days pick you up
Cause life's a disaster with no one to love you
I don't understand why
You got your start, you went to New York
Yeah, it's enormous
You went to see just where the wild wind blows
And it's more than you
You are in New York
This is heavy
No doubt about that
Dreams will happen
You cross your heart and hope you never die
in this life
You want to feel how deep the new world breathes
And it's more than you
You are in New York
This is heavy
No doubt about that
This is heaven
And then one day you rock the USA
Yeah! Wow!
And it's more than you
You are in New York
Streetlights glitter
brighter than stars
This is heavy
No doubt about that
This is heaven
You are in New York
An imitation from New York
Youre made in Japan
From cheese and chalk
Youre hipy tarts hero
Cos you put on bad show
You put on bad show
Oh dont it show
Still oh out on those pills
Oh do you remember
Think its well playing Maxs Kansas
Youre looking bored
And youre acting flash
With nothing in your gut
You better keep yer mouth shut
You better keep yer mouth shut
In a rut
Still oh out on those pills
Do the sambo
Four years on
You still look the same
I think about time
You changed your brain
Youre just a pile of shit
Youre coming to this
Ya poor little faggot
Youre sealed with a kiss
Kiss me
Think its well playing in Japan
When everybody knows Japan is a dishpan
Youre just a pile of shit
Youre coming to this
Ya poor little faggot
Youre sealed with a kiss
Still oh out on those pills
Cheap thrills, anadins, aspros, anything
Youre condemned to eternal bullshit
Youre sealed with a kiss
Kiss me
A kiss a kiss youre sealed with a kiss
A looking for a kiss youre coming to this
I wanna kiss anything
Oh kiss this eh boy
If you were here beside me
Instead of in New York
If the curve of you is curved on me
I'd tell you that I love you
Before I ever knew you
'Cause I love the simple thought of you
If our hearts are never broken
then there's no joy in the mending
There's so much this heart can teach us both
Though there's distance and there's silence
Your words have never left me
You're the prayer that I say every day
Come on
Come out
Come here
Come here
The long neon nights and the ache of the ocean
And the fire that was starting to spark
I miss it all from the love to the lightning
And the lack of it snaps me in two
If you were here beside me
Instead of in New York
In the arms you said you'd never leave
I'd tell you that it's simple
And it was only ever thus
There is no where else that I belong
Come on
Come out
Come here
Come here
The long neon nights and the eek of the ocean
And the fire that was starting to spark
I miss it all from the love to the lightning
And the lack of it snaps me in two
Just give me a sign
There's an end and a beginning
To the quiet chaos driving me mad
The long neon night and the want of the ocean
(GUITAR & HARP STUFF)
New York, you're such a fickle city
You've got a heart
But you won't admit it
You've got a soul
And I'd like to get in it
But you can't have
My dreams in exchange
'Cause I came to you
With an open mind
With my heart full of hope
Of a special kind
But the doors stayed closed
For the longest time
So I thought of inside
Wondering what I might find
But you played with my illusion
'Till my image laughed in my face
I would have loved to love you
But my heart needs a different space
New York, New York ...
One chance for singing
To lose ourselves in such a simple melody.
One love worth saving
Is worth a million troubles if we make it.
[Chorus]
New York, can't find me
New York, New York
One life worth living
Could save us all or lose its way completely
It's allright, if it's OK
To find a little peace of mind and hope it stays
New York, has her timing
New York, New York
Empty ourselves in this city.
Spend every wish on the way.
It leaves you with nothing to swing from.
This is no time for Celebration
This is no time for Shaking Hands
This is no time for Backslapping
This is no time for Marching Bands
This is no time for Optimism
This is no time for Endless Thought
This is no time for my country Right or Wrong
Remember what that brought
This is no time for Congratulations
This is no time to Turn Your Back
This is no time for Circumlocution
This is no time for Learned Speech
This is no time to Count Your Blessings
This is no time for Private Gain
This is a time to Put Up or Shut Up
It won't come back this way again
This is no time to Swallow Anger
This is no time to Ignore Hate
This is no time to be Acting Frivolous
because the time is getting late
This is no time for Private Vendettas
This is no time to not know who you are
Self knowledge is a dangerous thing
The freedom of who you are
This is no time to ignore Warnings
This is no time to Clear the Plate
Let's not be sorry after the fact
and let the past become our fate
This is no time to turn away and drink
or some vials of crack
This is a time to gather force
and take dead aim and Attack
This is no time for Celebration
This is no time for Saluting Flags
This is no time for Inner Searchings
The future is at hand
This is no time for Phony Rhetoric
This is no time for Political Speech
This is a time for Action
because the future's Within Reach
This is the time
I got a hundred guns, a hundred clips, Nigga I'm from New York (New York)
I got a semi-automatic that spits next time if you talk (you talk)
I got a hundred guns, a hundred clips, Nigga I'm from New York (New York)
I got a semi-automatic that spits next time if you talk (you talk)
(And I know)
Yall niggaz is pussy, poonani, (Vagina)
Your (Monologue's) getting tired, now it's time to ride
You're print distrified, you're no longer desired
So take off them silly chains, put back on your wire
I'm on fire, holly dipped in octane
Let east coast bang, let west coast bang
And Rule gonna bring the ghetto gospel
To every 'hood possible, pushin through in the sky blue
Back with the gods you now, preferably the 4 pound
Slugs flyin at the speed of sound
Tryin to catch the ears of niggaz that's runnin their mouths
I might get my Brooklyn niggaz to run in your house
I don't really understand what the runnin's about
But we're hunters, we take pride in airin our prey out
Leavin 'em layed out, dead, in just a sport
'cause we ain't playin up here in New York
I got a hundred guns, a hundred clips, Nigga I'm from New York (New York)
And you can tell the way the homie spit, That nigga, I'm from New York (New York)
I got a hundred ways to make a grip, Yes, I'm from New York (New York)
And you can tell I get real ignorant, 'cause nigga, I'm from New York (New York)
(And this is how we do)
Nigga I can see the coke in your nose
This ain't a movie, even he got his head blown on the globe
And I was just about to find god
But now that Ma$e is back, I think I'd much rather find a menage
And everybody talkin crazy how they're AK spit
But we know this investigatin, and they ain't spray shit
Not me, I'm the truth homie, got the industry shook like
"Naw nigga, Joe gonna let 'em loose on me"
True Story, I'm bringin the T back
Even Roy Jones was forced to (Lean Back)
My nigga Dre said grind cook
Now we killin them Howard niggaz, who said I must of found Pun's rhyme book
Got bitches on top of the Phantom
And the pinky got bling, like the ring around Saturn
Cook coke, crack, niggaz fiend for that
And you already know the x is where the team be at
I got a hundred guns, a hundred clips, Nigga I'm from New York (New York)
(Ruff Ryde), and (D-Block) and shit, Nigga fuck what you thought (you thought)
And you can't take shit for granted, because life is too short (too short)
I got a hundred guns, a hundred clips, Nigga I'm from New York
(Aha, and this is how we do)
I swear it couldn't be sweeter, Life's a bitch
Depending on how you treat her, you might get rich
It's guaranteed you gonna die, you might get missed
For maybe 2 or 3 hours, 'til they light their spliffs
And that coke will get you a long time
But when I let 'em know the dope is out, it's like America Online
Wise has awoken
And you know they say that you deserved it whenever you die with your eyes open
I still hold a title, because I'm in the hood like them little motorcycles
Stick up kids, hoppin out with them old rifles
Just doin shit for nothin, it's so spiteful
Ha I'm just like you
Word that niggaz wanna murk you is in the air
A double shot of yak and the purple is in the air
And I'm not cocky, I'm confident
So when you tell me I'm the best it's a compliment
I got a hundred guns, a hundred clips, Nigga I'm from New York (New York)
And you can tell the way the homie spit, cause nigga I'm from new york!
I got a hundred guns, a hundred clips, Nigga I'm from New York
I got a semi-automatic that spits next time if you talk..
Lying on the concrete floor
The friends around me, four concrete walls
The silence inside doesn't tell the truth
Outside people i don't know
Tell me what they're waiting for
I close my eyes that i won't see
Swears in the name of crusifix
Squeezes his talisman for kicks
Too many people think too many different things
Chaos, all insanity
measuring the pain from me
Lying here, can't do anything
Unsatisfied with human rights
My mind just filled with those dark sights
that you spread now on TV
What's the impression you wanna hide?
Blessed be the icon of our times!
So let's stay indoors, beware of the dark
New York
New York
New York
I don't like to see your place
Living in unbalanced embrace
Behind the smile it feels unsafe
Without knowing what you praise
Someone's just telling how it is
and people swallow that peace of shit
The times, they have not changed at all
What's the impression you wanna hide?
So blessed be the icon of our times!
Let's stay indoors, beware of the dark...
New York
New York
They're throwing rocks and paving stones
So lets go while we can
Put your finger on the map
Who cares where it lands
Cause we're all better off in New York
On the road and out of town
We're moving on again
Everything they say is true
This city is insane
Every possibility
Nothing's left to chance
They're throwing rocks and pavings stones
Who says it has to last?
On the run
Till we're caught in New York
Cause we're all better dead
Than be caught
Maybe best not to talk
Till New York
Cause we're all better off in New York
On the run
Till we're caught in New York
Cause we're all better off
In New York
On the run
Till we're caught
In New York
On the run
Till we're caught
In New York
On the run
Till we're caught
The days were long and the nights so cold
the pages turned and the tale unfolds
He'd left me for another lady.
She stood so tall and she never slept
There was not one moment he could regret
He'd left me for another lady
He took my hand one day and told me he was leaving, me disbelieving and I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I had to let him go
Her name was New York, New York, and she took his heart away oh my Her name was New York, New York, she had poisoned his sweet mind
mmm.. The wolves they howled for my lost soul
I fell down a deep black hole, He'd left me for another lady
she poured the drinks and she poured the power
A diamond girl who could talk for hours
He'd left me for another lady
Now I am on my own, he told me he was leaving, and I was pleading and I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I had to let him go
Her name was New York, New York, and she took his heart away oh my, Her name was New York, New York, she had poisoned his sweet mind
The greatest times, I don't wanna hear it, your new laughter lines
I don't wanna hear it, the new found friends she introduced you to
I don't wanna know them I just wanna be with you..
[Intro: AZ (samples)]
Yeah... "the city"
This is serious, here "number one"
New York! It's beyond the 5 boroughs "keep it real" "I get ill"
"Number one" This will rock! "the city" "I gotta get in"
[AZ]
This is that, Riker's Island, not slipping rap flows
For them box bitten bing monsters, sniffin' that blow
Block covers know the style, triple that dough
Forty cal. for them cock suckers, sittin' back slow
What y'all know about coke pies, give 'em that low
I mouth them before the bowtie resemble cash flow
Rap NY, no lie, my side is back Ghost, so hot
Crooked cops are searching your asshole, it's the drop
That freeze niggaz right where they stand for the gwap
Niggaz'll play Pac and pop with they man, it don't stop
We up top, but we locked and landing
He roadblock, he flow shots, get Ghost and scram
Gingerbread niggaz on the run from feds
Shit is sick, pretty chicks'll put a gun to ya head
Never a vic', either think quick or end up dead
Cuz when we flip, what's left to be said? New York
New York, New York, New York
[Chorus x2: samples *scratched by DJ Premier*]
"New York, New York"
"Number One"
"New York, New York"
"Keep it real" "I get ill"
"New York, New York"
"Number one"
"New York, New York"
"The city" "I gotta get in"
[Raekwon]
You know the town stupid, this is all authentic ground
You can get poked, grabbed and choked, then shot up, for product
Bank holders stay in the lab, too many dumb niggaz is scheming
You can get murked up in the cab
Shout out to niggaz that be jerking tags, rollin' in Jags
Good boy leathers, hood boys'll blast you
Niggaz that carry ones and hit grass
And love hip hop, the shit that bring money outta ziplocs
Protect your dome, I'm warning you, what harm I do to the kid
I have you on the floor with ya armor loose
Break the raw down and sign truces
Then switch the next muthafuckin' date, fuck all excuses
When you see me it's real, I'm just a natural born hustler
The castle where they wrap you in plastic, duke
So every soldier that's armed, remind your general
It's critical, you might stay a night, if you pretendable
[Chorus x2]
[Ghostface Killah]
Yo, we was raised in the dead arm district
Before guns was called biscuits, Stapleton was on that hood shit
Live from the New York borough, keeping it thorough
Bunch of snakes in the grass, stay creepin' like squirrels
Cuz a snitch gon' crack that nut, don't give a fuck
Did ten hours long and try to wrap us up
He dry snitching, post up in the whip with a fly wisdom
Hopped out to get a dutch, but he left with his wig splitten
We from New York, my city never sleeps (No)
We runnin' with a hundred heats
When beef pop off, we ain't the one to speak
Dressed in all black, driving six feet hurses
With sixteen niggaz, dropping sixteen verses
Big faces, bolgin' outta big green purses
Stuck ya man for his vegi's and his lame ass circus
So I dare niggaz act up, y'all niggaz act up
Now like cars in reverse, y'all better back up
Close to the edge, I'm like a bomb ticking slowly
Just don't push me if you know what's good for you, I'm
not that holy.
I'm an island, I'm a rock
On an island made of rock
Concrete flowers, falling towers
To tell the time, who needs a watch?
Ain't that just like New York
Ain't that just like tv
There's nothin' like New York
Don't you believe what you see.
Prechorus
It's like a jungle (it's like a jungle )
It's like a jungle sometimes (It's like a jungle
sometimes)
It's like a jungle (it's like a jungle)
It's like a jungle sometimes. (It's like a jungle
sometimes)
Chorus
I got this love for New York, New York
But I don't think thay she knows
I said goodbye to New York, New york
But my heart won't let her go
I've seen a few things, I've seen fire, I've seen rain
What I haven't seen's much sunshine,
Through my window shades of grey
Baby's crying, Mommy's trying, her very best to make
ends meet
Daddy's spot is on the corner, made at least 3 G's last
week.
Prechorus
Chorus
Still waters run deep on the corners of Wall st.
Too many cooks in the kitchen
,No shepherds for the sheep.
Only Lawyers and Doctors, like gangsters and mobsters.
The ground ain't safe anymore, we need police
helicopters.
It's like a jungle sometimes, I gotta suit up in
camouflauge.....or blend with the Philistines,
And swing a sling on the boulavard.
Nikes, Converse, Pumas, Addidas
Everybody's moving fast, but they ain't running to
Jesus.
They want blood, watch the spillage
They wanna conquer and pillage.
Pillars of Salt, don't look back in the village.
Prechorus
Are you tuning in
And I wanted to go
Half my life
And I feel kind of strange
Like I never lived that life
And I'm trying hard
To control my heart
And I always want to know
And I always want to go
New York are you tuning in
New York big city of dreams
New York oh what a city
New York
Are you tuning in
There's now time to unpack, yea
Let's get straight out on the street
And feel no inhibitions
This city was built for me
And my head is full of questions
When did I feel this good
In the arms of my lover
Burning through the night of New York
And its funny how time flies
In the city that never sleeps
It's getting after hours
And I'm feeling the heat
I'm almost dead and buried
The day nearly done
But I want to keep on going
I'm going to kiss the sun in New York
And I'm feeling kind of selfish
Cause I'm just flying home
I've been busy on your island
Just having my own fun
It's an English tradition
Find some money make some time
Get busy on your island

You said it from New York
With a tear in your eye
You said it from a pay phone
I say it was a lie
'Cause you said it with indifference
I heard it that way too
And even the color blind
Know what's black from white, oh right.
And you don't have to shout
I hear you fine
I'm not tryin' to wear you out
But don't expect me to ease you
It seems such an injustice
Given the way we feel
I guess sometimes
It just turns out like that.
All handle each rejection
Kinda tired, rather careless, I find it hard to breathe
And if you don't want to see me cry
Don't ever say goodbye.
I can't pin it on him
Girl, I can't blame you
From the ring on your finger
I guess I always knew
It seems such an injustice
Given the way we feel
I guess sometimes
It just turns out like that.
All handle each rejection
Kinda tired, rather careless, I find it hard to breathe
And if you don't want to se me cry
Don't ever say goodbye.
Don't ever say goodbye.
You said it from New York
With a tear in your eye
You said it from a pay phone
I say it was a lie
'Cause you said it with indifference
And I'm sure I heard it true
And even the color blind
Know about ya.
I am, girl
I'm so scared of bein' alone
In this place so faraway
From what I call home
If you don't want to see me cry
Don't ever say goodbye.
Don't ever say goodbye
Don't ever say, don't ever say
In New York freedom looks like
Too many choices
In New York I found a friend
To drown out the other voices
Voices on the cell phone
Voices from home
Voices of the hard sell
Voices down the stairwell
In New York
Just got a place in New York
In New York summers get hot
Well into the hundreds
You can't walk around the block
Without a change of clothin'
Hot as a hairdryer in your face
Hot as a handbag and a can of mace
New York
I just got a place in New York
New York
(New York)
New York
In New York you can forget
Forget how to sit still
Tell yourself you will stay in
But it's down to Alphaville
New York
New York, New York
New York, New York
New York
(Aoo)
The Irish have been comin' here for years
Feel like they own the place
They got the airport, city hall, asphalt, dance floor
They even got the police
Irish, Italians, Jews and Hispanics
Religious nuts, political fanatics in the stew
Happily, not like me and you
That's where I lost you, New York
New York, New York
New York
New York, New York
New York
Aoo ooo
New York
Aoo ooo
In New York I lost it all
To you and your vices
Still I'm stayin' on to figure out
My mid life crisis
I hit an iceberg in my life
You know I'm still afloat
You lose your balance, lose your wife
In the queue for the lifeboat
You got to put the women and children first
But you've got an unquenchable thirst for New York
New York
New York
New York, New York
In the stillness of the evening
When the sun has had it's day
I heard your voice whisperin'
Come away now
New, New York
New, New York
Aoo ooo
You got your start, you went to New York. Yeah. It's enormous
You went to see just where the wild wind blows
And it's more than you
You are in New York
This is heavy
No doubt about that
Dreams will happen
You cross your heart and hope you never die in this life
You want to feel how deep the new world breathes
And it's more than you
You are in New York
This is heavy
No doubt about that
This is heaven
And then one day, you rock the USA. Yeah! Wow!
And it's more than you
You are in New York
Streetlights glitter
brighter than stars
This is heavy
No doubt about that
This is heaven
[Intro:]
And you say New York City!
Duane 'Darock', KRS
[Chorus: female singers]
It's New Yorrrrrrrrrk, and we livin

[KRS-One:]
New, York, City, get it right, get it tight, get it hype
New York City's in the house tonight
All day, off and on, Broadway
The world's Big Apple is what they all say
Wait, way back in the day
Dudes from the South migrated this way North
Lookin for the higher pay of course
Led by the forces they became big bosses
Like Rick Ross is, the city that never sleeps
Yup, New York is
If you can make it here, you can make it anywhere
What's that?
[Chorus]
[over Chorus:]
Flatbush! Brooklyn (we live this)
BX Bronx, c'mon
Gun Hill Road, Grand Concourse
[KRS-One:]
New, York, City, still part of my heart, still part of my start
As you can see it's still, part of my art
Still part of my lesson plan, listen man~!
N.Y., every year we fresh again
I be doin South Bronx everywhere I go
Everywhere I go, every nation know
I'm a New York dude that's not New York rude
All over the world I eat New York food
Ha, I'm at home anywhere, any place
Right now somebody from New York in this place
Yeah, no matter where I be
I'll always be N-Y-C
[Chorus]
[over Chorus:]
Coney Island! Brighton Beach
Wooo, Red Hook!
I see you Canal Street, Delancey Street
Hester Street, c'mon, New York let's go
[KRS-One:]
New, York, City, metropolitan life, cosmopolitan life
It put the strength inside of my life
But New York City got it's challenges also
Racism, sexism, crime, you all know!
Them guns that keep goin off bustin
And another one bites the dust when
Conflicts arise and dudes start bustin
And cussin, I gotta speak to this
New York is not unique in this
But if we keep sewing this we gonna keep reapin this
I'm teachin this, we gotta overcome our weaknesses
Remember man!
[Chorus]
[over Chorus:]
Big up to the firefighters, rest in peace
World Trades y'know
Brooklyn! The Bronx, Queens
Manhattan! Staten Island! New York love it baby
[Chorus]
[over Chorus:]
South Bronx
South Bronx, big 'em up!
Rest in peace Jam Master Jay, Big Pun
