kayaking on the river taw, sevylor colorado, ocean kayak prowler
kayaking the river taw, Devon. We got in at a small woods about 5 miles past Kingford on the a377 and paddled back to rock park in barnstaple. The river was flowing nicely but due to the fact i don't have a waterproof case on my flick camcorder i could not take shots of the rapids. a nice day out on an easy river, great for novice kayaking and people just wanting a good long scenic trip away from it all. oh the fly fishermen don't like us much but hey ho!

Bird life on the River Taw,North Devon (HQ)
Here we have a few short clips i put together which i took while walking around the River Taw in Barnstaple.i had to use an audio swap for this video as on the day i filmed these birds it was very windy, and there is nothing worse than having to listen too a hiss while watching videos.Near the end of this video i managed to film a single cormorant but he decided not to dive for any fish while i was filming.

The 2009 B3C Youth Barle trip (on the river Taw)
This is the video that was intended to premier at the 2009 AGM. It shows us paddling on the river Taw (due to the lack of water on the Barle). It was filmed by my dad (Richard Boreham) and edited by me (Nicholas Boreham the youth activities officer), so sit back and enjoy.

The Steepest River in Wales - The Cwm Haffes
Video by paddlers: Iain Embrey and Nigel Markey
Paddling in the beating rain with squally conditions made getting footage really tough - apologies for the low video quality.
The Cwm Haffes is a trib of the Afon Tawe. There is a general consensus that this is one of the steepest kayakable rivers in the UK: http://www.ukriversguidebook.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?f=3&t;=10970&start;=38

Devon floods woman rescued after clinging to tree
23 December 2012 In Umberleigh, near Barnstaple in north Devon, a woman was swept away from her car in the early hours of Sunday after becoming stuck in fast-flowing flood water. A police helicopter found her clinging to branches of a tree - where she had been for 50 minutes - on the banks of the swollen River Taw. She was rescued by a RNLI lifeboat, and treated for exposure to the water.
