The Leland Stanford Junior University, commonly referred to as Stanford University or Stanford, is an American private research university located in Stanford, California on an 8,180-acre (3,310 ha) campus near Palo Alto, California, United States. It is situated in the northwestern Silicon Valley, approximately 20 miles (32 km) northwest of San Jose and 37 miles (60 km) southeast of San Francisco.
Leland Stanford, a Californian railroad tycoon and politician, and his wife Jane Lathrop Stanford founded the university in 1891 in honor of their son, Leland Stanford, Jr., who died of typhoid two months before his 16th birthday. The university was established as a coeducational and nondenominational institution, but struggled financially after the senior Stanford's 1893 death and after much of the campus was damaged by the 1906 San Francisco earthquake. Following World War II, Provost Frederick Terman supported faculty and graduates' entrepreneurialism to build self-sufficient local industry in what would become known as Silicon Valley. By 1970, Stanford was home to a linear accelerator, was one of the original four ARPANET nodes, and had transformed itself into a major research university in computer science, mathematics, natural sciences, and social sciences.
Steven Paul "Steve" Jobs (/ˈdʒɒbz/; February 24, 1955 – October 5, 2011) was an American businessman, designer and inventor. He is best known as the co-founder, chairman, and chief executive officer of Apple Inc. Through Apple, he was widely recognized as a charismatic pioneer of the personal computer revolution and for his influential career in the computer and consumer electronics fields. Jobs also co-founded and served as chief executive of Pixar Animation Studios; he became a member of the board of directors of The Walt Disney Company in 2006, when Disney acquired Pixar.
In the late 1970s, Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak engineered one of the first commercially successful lines of personal computers, the Apple II series. Jobs was among the first to see the commercial potential of Xerox PARC's mouse-driven graphical user interface, which led to the creation of the Apple Lisa and, one year later, the Macintosh. During this period he also led efforts that would begin the desktop publishing revolution, notably through the introduction of the LaserWriter and the associated PageMaker software.
Oprah Winfrey (born Orpah Gail Winfrey; January 29, 1954) is an American media proprietor, talk show host, actress, producer, and philanthropist. Winfrey is best known for her self-titled, multi-award-winning talk show, which has become the highest-rated program of its kind in history and was nationally syndicated from 1986 to 2011. She has been ranked the richest African-American of the 20th century, the greatest black philanthropist in American history, and was for a time the world's only black billionaire. She is also, according to some assessments, the most influential woman in the world.
Winfrey was born into poverty in rural Mississippi to a teenage single mother and later raised in an inner-city Milwaukee neighborhood. She experienced considerable hardship during her childhood, claiming to be raped at age nine and becoming pregnant at 14; her son died in infancy. Sent to live with the man she calls her father, a barber in Tennessee, Winfrey landed a job in radio while still in high school and began co-anchoring the local evening news at the age of 19. Her emotional ad-lib delivery eventually got her transferred to the daytime-talk-show arena, and after boosting a third-rated local Chicago talk show to first place, she launched her own production company and became internationally syndicated.

Just as her friend Charlotte must deal with her young daughter's "terrible two's", Carrie must deal with her relationship taking a turn for the worse - Big likes to watch old black-and-white movies on TV and eat take-out food, which prevents Carrie from feeling like the free-wheeling party girl she used to be. Samantha Jones: I'm having a hot flash.::Carrie Bradshaw: You're fine.::Samantha Jones: Seriously. They're starting.::Carrie Bradshaw: You're on a camel in the middle of the Arabian desert. If you're not having a hot flash, you're dead.
Miranda Hobbes: Charlotte has a sand-wedge [after Charlotte falls from the camel]
Miranda Hobbes: Sometimes, as much as I love Brady, being a mother just isn't enough. I miss my job.
Carrie Bradshaw: Me and you, just us two.
Samantha Jones: Lawrence of my labia!
Samantha Jones: One week in Abu Dubai. All expenses paid.::Carrie Bradshaw: I always been fascinated by the Middle East. You know, desert moons, magic carpets.::Lily York Goldenblatt: Like Jasmine and Aladdin.::Carrie Bradshaw: Yes, sweetie! Just like Jasmine, but with cocktails.::Charlotte York: It really sounds exciting. When are you gonna go?::Samantha Jones: [modest tone] I don't know... When can you all be free?::[Everyone stare at her]::Samantha Jones: You didn't think I was going without my gals? All expenses paid for all four of us. All we have to do is pick the week, and the sooner the better!::Miranda Hobbes: Let me just check my work schedule.::[Looks at her cellphone really quick]::Miranda Hobbes: Yeah! All clear!::Carrie Bradshaw: Well I gotta check... but I'm good to go Middle East, sweetie!::Samantha Jones: [all excited] Charlotte! How's three weeks from now?::Charlotte York: Oh, I... I don't know.::Samantha Jones: [demanding tone] I go to children's birthday parties for YOU! You're going to Abu Dhabi for ME!::Miranda Hobbes: Children's birthday parties. Pulling out the big guns.::Charlotte York: Ah... okay.::Samantha Jones: [obliviously] Thank you!
Carrie Bradshaw: You have to take the tradition, and decorate it your way.
Mr. Big: [At Carrie's bewildered response to his putting a television in their bedroom] Don't you remember how great it was watching 'It Happened One Night' at the hotel?::Carrie Bradshaw: Yes, that's because it's only happened one night, at a hotel.
Samantha Jones: [hearing that Charlotte wants to buy her children gifts, which might make them miss their flight] Buy them some *crap* at the airport!

Plot
In this alternative to a "the making of" on the super hit-sitcom "Sex and the City", which simply does not rely on special effects, various actors and other people involved in its production, writers, producers, wardrobe mistress, even celebrities appearing as themselves or just mentioned by characters (e.g. designers like Oscar De la Renta) try to fathom the success formula, supported by numerous short fragments: what did make it tick, where the pioneering boundaries were (and especially where not), what they enjoyed, inspiration from real life and especially New York...

Louie's father is the real boss, and he has no intention of paying for the repairs. This leaves Louie to live in the squalor his tenants endure all year round.

Big Lou Kritski: Let me explain something to you, son. You fix this place up on Monday, Friday it's back the way it was. You put in plumbing, they put chicken bones down the toilet. Put in heat, they piss in the hot air ducts!
Louie Kritski: Beautiful. A fucking sink that farts.
Heather: What is that smell? It smells like...::Louie Kritski: Piss.::Heather: Yeah, smells like piss, what is it?::Louie Kritski: It's piss. Drunks come in the hallway and they piss.::Heather: You let them pee in here?::Louie Kritski: It's not like they ask permission.
Louie Kritski: Why is that you have twenty-four different kinds of pork rinds and you only have one kind of peanut butter?::Cashier: Because we don't get too many fussy little white pricks in here.::Louie Kritski: Okay.
Louie Kritski: At least there's a Motif - WALL TO WALL SHIT!
Louie Kritski: You want your electricity fixed? Move. Check into the fucking Plaza, just gimmie the rent Lady!::Eleanor: Look at my boy. How's he supposed to do his schoolwork at night? By candle light?::Louie Kritski: Lincoln did. Hey maybe he'll grown up to be president, what the fuck do I know? Just gimmie the rent!
Eleanor: How is my boy supposed to do his schoolwork at night? By candle light?::Louie Kritski: Lincoln did. Maybe he'll grow up to be president, what the fuck do I know?
Louie Kritski: I need to use your bathroom.::Eleanor: No!::Louie Kritski: What am I supposed to do, shit outside?::Eleanor: Lincoln did.
Louie Kritski: No way I'm going to that shit hole.::Big Lou Kritski: Who are you talking to?::Louie Kritski: Heather, trying to figure out where to go tonight.::Big Lou Kritski: I'll tell you where you're going tonight. You're going to the building to serve your time or else you're going to jail.

Dearheart
Take a look at you
I know how it feels
Branches full of fruit
Life streaks
And surges all in green
The bounty of the rain
The bounty of the spring
Dearheart
You cant keep them all
I wait with eyes closed
Ill lighten your load
Truth hurts
Remember this:
We are pooling our faith
(You said it)
Asking for my basketful
Shake loose
All your garnet jewels
Whatever sustains me
Gifts and pampers you
Trees drop
Plums in my open mouth
I wait with eyes closed
Paradise my own
Truth hurts
Hold onto this:
We are pooling our faith
(You said it)
Juice bursts
Don't let it drip
We are pooling our faith
