Samakal (Bengali: সমকাল samakal, "current time, contemporary") is a Bengali-language daily newspaper published in Dhaka, Bangladesh. Samakal started publishing on 31 May 2005. As of 2007, the circulation of Samakal is around 200,000.
Golam Sarwar, a famous journalist, serves here as editor. Maj. Gen. (Retd.) S.M. Shahab Udding serves here as executive director, Abu Sayeed Khan serves as managing editor of the newsdaily.
Famous columnists regularly write in this newspaper. Abdul Gaffar Chowdhury contributes every week in `Kaler Ayna (The Mirror of the Time)'. Hasan Azizul Huq, the famous story writer of the sub continent, is another columnist. Justice Habibur Rahman, the former chief advisor of the Bangladesh caretaker government is a regular columnist. Zillur Rahman Siddiqui, Shahriar Kabir, Badruddin Omar,economist Anu Muhammad, Abu Ahmed, and dramatist Mamunur Rashid also write columns.
`Kaler Kheya (Boat of the Time)', the most popular literary magazine of this time, is one of the weekly supplements of Samakal. Prominent young poet Masud Hassan edited this supplement. The other weekly supplements are 'Nandan', `Shaili', 'Campus', 'Kurir Pore (after 20)', 'Taka Aana Pai (Economy)', 'Naristhan (Women Platform)', 'Champion' and 'Ghassfaring (page for children)'. 'Suhreed Samabesh (Platform of Welwishers)' is the reader organization of this daily. Jointly with Oxfam GB, Samakal recently published a magazine on Climate Change of Bangladesh.
Sarwar is a city and a sub division in Ajmer district in the Indian state of Rajasthan.
Sarwar is located at 26°04′N 75°00′E / 26.07°N 75.0°E / 26.07; 75.0. It has an average elevation of 337 metres (1105 feet).
As of 2001 India census, Sarwar had a population of 16,194. Males constitute 52% of the population and females 48%. Sarwar has an average literacy rate of 47%, lower than the national average of 59.5%: male literacy is 61%, and female literacy is 32%. In Sarwar, 19% of the population is under 6 years of age. Sarwar is 16KM from town kekri and 64KM from District Ajmer.
Surwar,(Rajputs) belong from here (Sarwar) they are Suryavanshi and their original home was Bikaner. Surwars' worship Ram Chandra, they belong to Garg gotra. Many Surwar Rajputs are also known as Sarwar Rajputs. They have long migrated to Benaras, Mirzapur and Jaunpur districts. Also in North eastern parts of India.There are also Surwar (Sarwar) Muslim Rajputs in Sindh & Punjab provinces of Pakistan.
