Whilst Welling United and Stevenage never really looked like sides playing at a much higher level in the pyramid compared with the Stones, the Red Dragons did and they ended up enjoying 62% of possession as they put Maidstone under concerted pressure for long periods of time. The Stones put up good resistance though and they even managed to test Joe Flatt on a couple of occasions before Alex Flisher gave Maidstone hope when he halved the deficit with just over an hour played. However, having been reduced to ten men as Aaron Simpson had been dismissed, the Stones were always going face an uphill battle to draw level and when Andy Bishop glanced in a header with just three minutes left, it was clear that Maidstone would be left to concentrate on the league Wrexham: Joe Flatt, Mark Carrington, Neil Ashton, Manny Smith, Blaine Hudson, Joe Clarke, Jay Harris (Elliott Durrell 90), Andy Bishop, Wes York (Louis Moult 76), Ross White (James Pearson 85), Connor Jennings. Subs not used: Steve Tomassen, Nick Rushton, Gray, Jonny Hunt. Maidstone United: Lee Worgan, Aaron Simpson, Tom Mills, Jamie Coyle, Sonny Miles, James Rogers, Matt Bodkin (Alex Brown 78), Jack Parkinson, Jay May (Richard Davies 60), Frannie Collin (Mark Lovell 76), Alex Flisher. Hat-trick hero Matt Paterson (pictured) was joined on the scoresheet by Steve Ramsey, who bagged a brace, as well as Justin Bennett and Dan Wooden. Manager Alex Pike made three changes to the side that started the game on Saturday with Robbie Matthews (making his first start of the season), Steve Ramsey and Dan Wooden replacing Dan Woodward, Tom Dunford and Adam Wilde. The Boro’ took the lead in the eighth minute after Steve Ramsey turned superbly and smashed a volley on the turn, into the bottom corner past Shaftoe’s despairing dive. Ashmore was called into action five minutes later, when he was needed to turn a dangerous Sibbick header over the bar. A mistake in the Boro’ defence left Ross Lye with an open goal to aim at, but from a tight angle the striker hit the side netting. Midway through the first half, Carter almost doubled the lead after a mazy run left him with space on the edge of the box but his driven shot flew just wide. The visitors almost equalised ten minutes before the interval, but Luke Bryan strayed marginally offside before turning the ball home. Sam Pearce struck the bar with a powerful header minutes before half time from Steve Ramsey’s corner, as the home side pushed for another goal. Paterson did double the lead moments later though, after a ball found the striker in space before he turned and instinctively buried the ball into the far bottom corner. The third goal was added five minutes after the break, with Justin Bennett racing on to Williams’ cross before the defender and he poked the ball home from point-blank range. The home side really began to turn on the style and the fourth was added as Matt Paterson got his second of the night. Williams broke free on the left wing and Bennett nodded the ball back into the path of his strike partner, who duly smashed the ball home. Dan Wooden got his first goal of the season on the hour mark, with a smashed drive into the top corner, leaving Shaftoe stranded. Then the 'keeper, with an attempted clearance from a backpass, cannoned the ball into Steve Ramsey and the ball trickled home to add more gloss to the scoreline. Matt Paterson completed his hat trick on 70 minutes, adding a seventh after Wooden broke free down the left and fired in a low cross, which the former Aldershot man coverted. Lee Wort almost grabbed his first ever Gosport goal five minutes left on the clock, as he headed effort smashed back off the post. The former Sholing man struck another fierce effort at goal moments later but Alex Shaftoe pulled off a blinding save to deny the home side an eighth goal. Boro’: Nathan Ashmore, Andy Forbes, Rory Williams, Mike Carter (Tom Dunford 54), Robbie Matthews, Sam Pearce ©, Steve Ramsey (Adam Wilde 63), Danny Smith (YC – 34), Matt Paterson, Justin Bennett (Lee Wort 54), Dan Wooden. noodls 2015-04-10The Borough of Maidstone is a local government district with borough status in Kent, England. Its administrative centre is Maidstone which is also the County town of Kent. grid reference TQ760560
The district was formed on 1 April 1974 under the Local Government Act 1972, and was a merger of the former municipal borough of Maidstone with the rural districts of Hollingbourne and Maidstone.
The Borough covers an area generally to the east and south of the town of Maidstone: as far north as the M2 motorway; east down the M20 to Lenham; south to a line including Staplehurst and Headcorn; and west towards Tonbridge. Generally speaking, it lies between the North Downs and the Weald, and covers the central part of the county. The M20 motorway crosses it from west to east, as does High Speed 1.
Geologically, the Greensand ridge lies to the south of the town. The very fine sand provides a good source for glass-making. The clay vale beyond, through which flow the three rivers which meet at Yalding; the Medway, the Beult and the Teise; and the chalk North Downs all provide raw materials for paper- and cement-making; which are also local industries.

Maidstone is the county town of Kent, England, 32 miles (51 km) south-east of London. The River Medway runs through the centre of the town linking Maidstone to Rochester and the Thames Estuary. Historically, the river was a source and route for much of the town's trade. Maidstone was the centre of the agricultural county of Kent, known as the Garden of England. There is evidence of a settlement in the area dating back to beyond the Stone Age.
The town is within the borough of Maidstone. In 2001, the town had a population of 75,070.
Maidstone's economy has changed over the years from being involved in heavy industry, to more light and service industries.
Saxon charters (c975) show the first recorded instances of the town's name; de maeides stana and maegdan stane with the possible meaning of either stone of the maidens, or possibly stone of the people. The latter meaning may refer to the nearby megalith around which gatherings would take place. The name evolved through medestan/meddestane as reported in the Domesday Book until, in 1610, the modern name appeared. It has also been suggested that the name derives from stones set into the river to allow clothes to be rinsed in the cleaner water away from the banks of the river.[citation needed]
Michael Joseph Jackson (August 29, 1958 – June 25, 2009) was an American recording artist, entertainer, and businessman. Often referred to as the King of Pop, or by his initials MJ, Jackson is recognized as the most successful entertainer of all time by Guinness World Records. His contribution to music, dance, and fashion, along with a much-publicized personal life, made him a global figure in popular culture for over four decades. The seventh child of the Jackson family, he debuted on the professional music scene along with his brothers as a member of The Jackson 5 in 1964, and began his solo career in 1971.
In the early 1980s, Jackson became a dominant figure in popular music. The music videos for his songs, including those of "Beat It", "Billie Jean", and "Thriller", were credited with transforming the medium into an art form and a promotional tool, and the popularity of these videos helped to bring the relatively new television channel MTV to fame. Videos such as "Black or White" and "Scream" made him a staple on MTV in the 1990s. Through stage performances and music videos, Jackson popularized a number of complicated dance techniques, such as the robot and the moonwalk, to which he gave the name. His distinctive musical sound and vocal style influenced numerous hip hop, post-disco, contemporary R&B, pop and rock artists.
