The tambourine or marine (commonly called tambo) is a musical instrument in the percussion family consisting of a frame, often of wood or plastic, with pairs of small metal jingles, called "zils". Classically the term tambourine denotes an instrument with a drumhead, though some variants may not have a head at all. Tambourines are often used with regular percussion sets. They can be mounted, but position is largely down to preference.
Tambourines come in many different shapes with the most common being circular. It is found in many forms of music: Greek folk music, Italian folk music, classical music, Persian music, gospel music, pop music and rock music. The word tambourine finds its origins in French tambourin, which referred to a long narrow drum used in Provence, the word being a diminutive of tambour "drum," altered by influence of Arabic tunbur "drum". from the Middle Persian word tambūr "lute, drum".
According to Phil Collins it is the most important instrument in Motown.[citation needed]
Bob Dylan ( /ˈdɪlən/), born Robert Allen Zimmerman on May 24, 1941, is an American singer-songwriter, musician and artist. He has been an influential figure in popular music and culture for five decades. Much of his most celebrated work dates from the 1960s when he was an informal chronicler and a seemingly reluctant figurehead of social unrest. A number of Dylan's early songs, such as "Blowin' in the Wind" and "The Times They Are a-Changin'", became anthems for the US civil rights and anti-war movements. Leaving his initial base in the culture of folk music behind, Dylan's six-minute single "Like a Rolling Stone" has been described as radically altering the parameters of popular music in 1965. However, his recordings employing electric instruments attracted denunciation and criticism from others in the folk movement.
Dylan's lyrics incorporated a variety of political, social, philosophical, and literary influences. They defied existing pop music conventions and appealed hugely to the then burgeoning counterculture. Initially inspired by the songs of Woody Guthrie,Robert Johnson, and Hank Williams, as well as the music and performance styles of Buddy Holly and Little Richard, Dylan has both amplified and personalized musical genres. His recording career, spanning fifty years, has explored numerous distinct traditions in American song—from folk, blues and country to gospel, rock and roll, and rockabilly to English, Scottish, and Irish folk music, embracing even jazz and swing.

This time I won't give the answer
This time I won't help along
I gave more than I should give, still -
You just pretend that you are strong
But who should believe in your words?
You ask for reasons until it hurts
When wil you be on your own?
You got a problem, man!
Cause you keep shakin' like a tambourine, tambourine
Why don't you try just to give everything, everything
And you keep shakin' like a tambourine - all your way down
Aou may think you've lost your best friend
But I tell you that ain't true
I just want to make things clear now:
Some things must be up to you!
But who should believe in your words?
You ask for reasons until it hruts
When wil you be on your own?
Is it in the things that I told you
That make you understand
Or is it in the way I hold you
Gripped tightly in my hand
Tambourine comes in colors
They're like ones that I've never seen
Tangerine is the color
Of my baby's tambourine
A wonderful sensation
That jingles inside me
The way you come in colors
When you shake your tambourine
Crystal blue persuasion
And all my favorite things
Turn colorful new colors
When you shake your tambourine

Tambourine comes in colors
They're like ones that I've never seen
Tangerine is the color
Of my baby's tambourine

Of my baby's tambourine

Well, Josie walks around
Like she's bought herself some brand new clothes
Singing to herself
Swinging for the sidewalk Jones
She's got a cousin down in Reno
Says, "The money is coming fast"
So she's packing it up
But her Mama says, "It ain't gonna last"
Wait it out, wait it out
So tired of hearing that I got to slow it down
I ain't gonna listen to them tell me how
I just got to burning and I won't stop now
Well, the late night
Broken down army ain't got no wheels
He was leaning on an El Dorado
Just to see how it feels
He's got his hands in his pockets
Janglin' a dollar in change
Leaving just as soon as
He can get a job down in L.A.
Wait it out, wait it out
So tired of hearing that I got to slow it down
I ain't gonna listen to them tell me how
I just got to burning and I won't stop now
Your love's not sure, your heart needs time
Take all you want, but don't take mine
Wait it out, wait it out
So tired of hearing that I got to slow it down
I ain't gonna listen to them tell me how
I just got to burning and I won't stop
Wait it out, wait it out
So tired of hearing that I got to slow it down
I ain't gonna listen to them tell me how
I just got to burning and I won't stop now
