(Updated 8:53 a.m.) After more than one hour, a hostage-taking aboard a bus at the North Luzon Expressway ended Monday morning with the arrest of the hostage-taker. No one was initially reported hurt in the situation involving the "Everlasting" bus (body 999453) at the southbound part of NLEX at the Sta. Rita entry, radio dzBB's Allan Gatus reported. Before 9 a.m., police managed to enter the bus and arrest the hostage-taker, the report said. "Very unstable siya, so we had to decide immediately," said Bulacan police director Senior Superintendent Ferdinand Divina, in explaining the decision to "assault" the bus. Divina said they are still verifying the identity of the hostage-taker who gave several names, one of which was "Larry Miranda." He said at least one policeman was injured when trying to wrest the knife away from the hostage-taker. He said the policeman used "reasonable force."
