Plot
The architect Daniel Brenner is in his late thirties when he receives his first challenging and lucrative commission: to design a cultural center for a satellite town in East-Berlin. He accepts the offer under the condition that he gets to choose who he works with. This way, he reunites with former colleagues and friends - most of them architects or students of architecture who have since chosen a different profession due to personal restraint or economic confinement. Together, they develop a concept which they hope will be more appealing to the public than the conventional and dull constructions common to the German Democratic Republic. However, their ambitious plans are once and again foiled by their conservative supervisors. As frustration grows, Daniel has trouble keeping his career in balance with his family-life: his wife Wanda wants to leave for West-Germany.

Wanda Brenner: As a failure, Daniel needed his family. Now you guys are his family.::female architect: I can't believe that. I have more than work on my mind.::Wanda Brenner: Yes, my husband, for instance.
Prof. Vesely: Construction is built on compromise. [he picks up a snail-shell] Look. Compared to natural materials our supplies are compromises. We have to live with them. And they aren't the only challenges. Building is political. We project power. Each building reflects status, like it or not. Prosperity or austarity. Dreams or despair. Economics and technology. They also reflect client tastes. Architects have to fight for their rights. But they also have to compromise. Any who deny ever having made a compromise are outright liars or total ignoramouses...don't trust anyone who claims to be uncompromising.
Plot
The city is rocked by a series of brutal murders. All the victims are women of lose character or prostitutes, and all have been brutally slain. Inspector Arjun Dutt is assigned this case, and he launches an investigation. The only clue is part of a photograph. Arjun concludes that these murders are being committed by a young man named Vikram alias Devendra. Arjun's superiors do not agree with him, and fault him. His superiors also find out that Vikram was Arjun's close friend, and both were rivals for the same woman, Kiran. The point to ponder is why would Arjun want to accuse Vikram, a man he has known since his college days, of these heinous crimes?
Vistas, cauces, paisaje fugitivo
Mirada que intenta y falla en permanecer
Sobre lugares de añoranza perenne
Sobre rincones de polvo y olvido
El pacto no quiere acabar
Solo has venido... solo te irás
El pacto no quiere acabar
Arrastro valijas, pierdo el camino, olvido el lugar
Una parte de una parte de mí
Quiere dormir tres eternidades
Una parte de una parte de esta vida
Ocurre en otro lugar
El pacto no quiere acabar
Solo has venido... solo te irás
El pacto no quiere acabar
