Subscribe to Journeyman for daily current affairs and science reports: https://www.youtube.com/user/journeymanpictures For downloads and more information visit: http://www.journeyman.tv/?lid=17342 Even before he helped mastermind the Madrid bombings, Amer Aziz was one of Europe’s most wanted terrorists. So why wasn’t he apprehended? “More than half of the individuals who committed the March 11 bombings were known by at least five countries,” states Jean-Charles Brisard, consultant to the Madrid Bombing Enquiry. “Warnings were ignored.” He’s angry that rivalry between different intelligence agencies enabled one of the main suspects, Amer Aziz, to escape. Aziz is also wanted for the 9-11 attacks and Casablanca bombings. In 2001, he was placed under 24 hour surveillance after it was discovered he was recruiting and financing for Al Qaeda. But police surveillance was blown by Spanish intelligence officers and he went on the run. Now his native country of Morocco has repudiated all links to him and blame Spanish authorities for not doing more to stop him. African Brothers: Revealing how the EU pays Moroccan security services to brutalise african migrants trying to make their way to Europe. For downloads and more information visit: http://www.journeyman.tv/66923/short-films/african-brothers-hd.html Every year thousands of Sub-Saharan Africans enter Morocco hoping to make it to Europe as immigrants. Paying Moroccan security forces to keep them out, the EU is funding a brutal system of violence and abuse. "We've been here two years now. I live in the forest like an animal", says 16-year-old Abdou. Thousands of people like this young Sengalese man attempt to pass through Morocco into Europe each year, enduring horrific conditions. At the Spanish enclave of Melilla, the EU has funded 11km of booby-trapped razor wire fences to keep them out. Those who jump the fence and avoid "holes in their heads and broken bones" end up in a detention centre designed to hold 480, crammed with over 1000 people. "The border is a brutal place with no law", says one interned migrant. "The EU give money to the Moroccan king, who sends his army to beat immigrants up. They've just washed their hands of it. That's a crime." Global Fronteras - Ref: 6071 Journeyman Pictures is your independent source for the world's most powerful films, exploring the burning issues of today. Penteli north of Athens and towns of western Attica that remained off bounds, while towns in southern Greece call for snow chains. The still inaccessible road networks in Attica include sections of the Mt. Penteli peripheral road and those in the Alepochori-Vilia, Psatha and Porto Germeno areas, while cars need snow chains to travel around the Oenoe, northwest of Athens, area. High-elevation towns in Arcadia and the Corinth prefectures in the Peloponnese were still struggling with problems from snow and ice, but in other areas of southern Greece — Laconia, the Argolid and Messinia — circulation went back to normal. Exceptions are the old Tripolis-Argos national road at the Achladokambos junction which is still shut down, and a Levidi-Nemea national road section that requires snow chains. http://greece.greekreporter.com/2015/01/03/southern-greek-towns-still-off-bounds-after-snowfall/#sthash.sZggXkU9.dpuf Algeria Madacher yesterday both Ahras market and Ú¤alma and El Tarf, Skikda, Khanshalah, El Eulma Annaba. http://www.elbilad.net/article/detail?id=28005 http://www.aps.dz/en/society/5211-heavy-rain,-snow-falls-on-central-and-eastern-algeria-as-from-tuesday Medea http://www.weather-forecast.com/locations/Medea-Algeria/photos/6022 Morocco http://www.moroccoworldnews.com/2014/12/147029/in-pictures-winter-wonderland-ifrane-gains-its-picturesque-snow/ Tunisia Snow thickness exceeds 20 cm (8 inches) up to 40 cm (16 inches) in the cities of the provinces of Kef and Jendouba, Siliana and Kairouan Kasserine, adding to the suffering and isolation of the residents, especially the poor due to the high prices of wood heating. http://ar.webmanagercenter.com/2015/01/01/65137/%D8%A7%D9%86%D9%82%D8%B7%D8%A7%D8%B9-%D8%A7%D9%84%D8%B7%D8%B1%D9%82%D8%A7%D8%AA-%D9%88%D8%B9%D8%B2%D9%84%D8%A9-%D8%A3%D8%BA%D9%84%D8%A8-%D8%A7%D9%84%D9%85%D9%86%D8%A7%D8%B7%D9%82-%D9%81%D9%89-%D8%B3/ http://ar.webmanagercenter.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/01/niege.jpg http://www.el-balad.com/1321547 Lybia http://www.alwasat.ly/ar/news/libya/54498/ https://www.assawsana.com/portal/image/imgid200172.jpg http://www.alwasat.ly/ar/news/libya/54535/ Turkey snowfall http://en.trend.az/world/turkey/2349274.html http://www.hurriyetdailynews.com/turkey-welcomes-new-year-with-snowfall.aspx?pageID=238&nID;=76306&NewsCatID;=341 Italy/Sicily Snows http://www.severe-weather.eu/news/adriatic-effect-snow-over-e-italy-december-30-31-2014/ http://www.markvoganweather.com/2014/12/31/warmer-scandinavia-africa-snow-reaches-med-coast-algeria-31c-romania/ The world's most viewed site on global warming and climate change www.wattsupwiththat.com Robert Felix - Iceagenow.info Dr John Casey - Cold Sun & Dark Winter Dr Norman Page http://climatesense-norpag.blogspot.tw/ Rolf Witzsche Celebrating Near New Ice Age http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v7RnQJ_6GeM Dr. Abdusamatov http://iceagenow.info/2012/02/ice-age-2014/ Svensmark: The Cloud Mystery https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ANMTPF1blpQ&feature;=share Snow Cover Charts http://climate.rutgers.edu/snowcover/chart_anom.php?ui_set=1&ui;_region=nhland&ui;_month=9 http://www.globalincidentmap.com http://www.ice-age-ahead-iaa.ca/ http://www.climatedepot.com www.spaceweather.com

Agadir is a city in southwest Morocco. The city is located on the shore of the Atlantic Ocean. Agadir is an important fishing and commercial port. It is also a famous seaside resort with a long sandy beach. Algeria borders Morocco to the east and southeast though the border between the two countries has been closed since 1994. There are also four Spanish enclaves on the Mediterranean coast: Ceuta, Melilla, Peñón de Vélez de la Gomera, Peñón de Alhucemas, and the Chafarinas islands, as well as the disputed islet Perejil. Off the Atlantic coast the Canary Islands belong to Spain, whereas Madeira to the north is Portuguese. To the north, Morocco is bordered by and controls part of the Strait of Gibraltar, giving it power over the waterways in and out of the Mediterranean sea. The Rif mountains occupy the region bordering the Mediterranean from the north-west to the north-east. The Atlas Mountains run down the backbone of the country, from the south west to the north east. Most of the south east portion of the country is in the Sahara Desert and as such is generally sparsely populated and unproductive economically. Most of the population lives to the north of these mountains, while to the south is the desert. To the south, lies the Western Sahara, a former Spanish colony that was annexed by Morocco in 1975 (see Green March). Morocco claims that the Western Sahara is part of its territory and refers to that as its Southern Provinces.

OBG recently organised its first conference in Morocco to mark OBG’s tenth analysis of the country’s economy, The Report: Morocco 2014. The event was held at the Sofitel Casablanca on November 5th in the presence of over 100 VIP guests and the media. In 10 years, Morocco has seen many improvements, such as rise in the banking rate from 34% to 58%, expansion of the highway network from 600km to 1,500 km and a 13-point drop in the illiteracy rate, to 30%. This solid growth, at an annual average over 4,5%, combined with dynamic financial activity and a booming manufacturing industry are some of the signs putting Morocco in a privileged position for the coming years.

Two consecutive African Berbers Kingdoms once conquered a vast area from northern Spain to deep in the African Sahara. Only to be destroyed by outside forces of the Christian Spain and Arab east. The Almoravids went from being desert nomads to empire builders. Gus Casely-Hayford describes how they managed to control not just the trans-Saharan gold trade, but the key to life itself. Underground irrigation channels, called khettara, ensured they could move the precious resource to where it was needed. The Berbers or the Amazighs ⵉⵎⴰⵣⵉⵖⴻⵏ are the ethnicity indigenous to North Africa west of the Nile Valley. They are distributed from the Atlantic Ocean to the Siwa Oasis in Egypt, and from the Mediterranean Sea to the Niger River. Historically they spoke Berber languages, which together form the "Berber branch" of the Afro-Asiatic language family. Since the Muslim conquest of North Africa in the seventh century, a large portion of Berbers have spoken varieties of Maghrebi Arabic, either by choice or obligation. After the invasion of north Africa by France people were "not only forced to speak French but that access to every non-French language was forbidden as well. Especially in school, Algerians were forced to speak French instead of their previous mother tongues; this included classical Arabic, the Berber language and all of its dialects. Algerians were required to speak a single language, French".[5] Foreign languages like French and Spanish, inherited from former European colonial powers, are used by most educated Berbers in Algeria, Morocco, and Tunisia in some formal contexts such as higher education or business. Today, most of the Berber people live in Northern African countries such as Algeria and Morocco; a large Berber population is also found in Tunisia, Libya, Mauritania, Mali and Niger, as well as large migrant communities living in France, Turkey and other countries of Europe. The Berber identity is usually wider than language and ethnicity, and encompasses the entire history and geography of North Africa. Berbers are not an entirely homogeneous ethnicity and they encompass a range of phenotypes, societies and ancestries. The unifying forces for the Berber people may be their shared language, belonging to the Berber homeland, or a collective identification with the Berber heritage and history. Linguistically speaking, there are some twenty-five to thirty million Berber speakers in North Africa. The number of ethnic Berbers (including non-Berber speakers) is far greater, as it is known that a large part of the Berbers have acquired other languages, over the course of many decades or centuries, and no longer speak Berber today. Berbers call themselves some variant of the word i-Mazigh-en, possibly meaning "free people" or "free and noble men". The word has probably an ancient parallel in the Roman and Greek names for some of the Berbers, "Mazices". Some of the best known of the ancient Berbers are the Numidian king Masinissa, king Jugurtha, the Berber-Roman author Apuleius, Saint Augustine of Hippo, and the Berber-Roman general Lusius Quietus, who was instrumental in defeating the major wave of Jewish revolts of 115–117. Dihya or Kahina was a female Berber religious and military leader who led a fierce Berber resistance against the Arab-Muslim expansion in North-West Africa. Kusaila was a seventh-century leader of the Awraba tribe of the Berber people and head of the Sanhadja confederation. Famous Berbers of the Middle Ages include Yusuf ibn Tashfin, king of the Berber Almoravid empire; Tariq ibn Ziyad the general who conquered Hispania; Abbas Ibn Firnas, a prolific inventor and early pioneer in aviation; Ibn Battuta, a medieval explorer who traveled the longest known distances in antiquity; and Estevanico, an early explorer of the Americas. Well-known modern Berbers in Europe include Zinedine Zidane, a French-born international football star of Algerian Kabyle descent, Loreen the Swedish-born winner of Eurovision 2012 and Ibrahim Afellay, a Dutch-born football player of Moroccan Riffian descent. In historical times, the Berbers expanded south into the Sahara (displacing earlier populations such as the Azer and Bafour), and have in turn been mainly culturally assimilated in much of North Africa by Arabs, particularly following the incursion of the Banu Hilal in the eleventh century. However much of Berber culture is still celebrated among the cultural elite in Morocco, and Algeria, a precedent set as early as Ibn Khaldun in the 14th century. The areas of North Africa which retained the Berber language and traditions best have been, in general, Morocco, highlands of Algeria (Kabylie, Aurès et cetera) most of which in Roman and Ottoman times remained largely independent. The Ottomans did penetrate the Kabylie area; Turkish influence can be seen in food, clothes and music, and to places the Phoenicians never penetrated, far beyond the coast.

المطبخ المغربي Moroccan cuisine ALL YOU NEED TO KNOW IS HERE Where else can you find me? ***Facebook page*** www.facebook.com/Fatemahisokay ***Instagram*** Fatemahisokay ******************* Date and Almond Ghreyba The ingredients 1 lb and 1/2 of all purpose flour 1 cup of granulated sugar 1 cup of room temperature butter 4 large eggs 1/2 cup of vegetable oil 1/2 tsp of salt 1 tbsp of vanilla sugar or vanilla extract 1 tsp of baking powder 1 tbsp of corn starch 1 tbsp of milk powder 1/2 cup of confectioner sugar About 1/2 cup of chopped dates How to Beat the butter, the oil, and the sugar well together till creamy. Traditionally Moroccan ladies use their hands to mix but you can use either a hand or a stand mixer. Once the mixture is creamy add in the eggs one at a time. Use a whisk to mix in the eggs. Once all the eggs are incorporated in the batter add in the vanilla sugar, the baking powder, the salt, the milk powder, and the corn starch. Whisk well. Add in the flour in three additions. After each addition mix just enough till its incorporated in the batter. Do not overmix. If it becomes too hard to work with a hand whisk use your hands. Once the batter is ready scoop about 1 tbsp and roll it between the palms of the hands . Prepare the baking sheet by buttering it very well and dusting it with a little flour. Tap the sheet against the counter to get rid of any excess flour. Place the rolled cookies on the baking sheet. Bake in a 350 preheated over for 20 minutes or till lightly golden brown. Once out the oven let the cookies cool for few minutes then dregge them in the confectioner sugar. The Ghrebiya cookies can be stored in the fridge for over a week or in the freezer for months. For people from all over the world Morocco, a North African country, is a wonderful God-gifted combination of mountains, sea, desert and jungles; which can fulfill all the passions for nature-loving tourists. Here one can get regenerated with fresh fragrance of all treasures of nature, also can enjoy all modern amenities in large cities. Some of the great tourist attractions of Morocco:- Djemaa El-Fna - a great square in the centre of the city of Marakkesh, which provides all types of entertainment to the people all day and night, with different charming shows and tasty food. Aït Benhaddou - a fortified but rarely inhibited city on the way to Sahara from Marakkesh. Fes-al-Bali -- the largest city inhibited by only carfrees and the bigger medina town, adorned by historic gates. Erg Chebbi dunes -- 150 metres high sand dunes of Sahara, having awesome orange-colored sand. Draa valley -- superbly attractive valley situated on the south of High Atlas Mountains, lined with native villages and palm groves, Draa river running through it. Chefchaouen -- a beautiful hill station, situated in northeast Morocco, arranged with houses colored in a strange combination of either white or blue. Volubilis -- a town established by Romans after the land was conquered by them centuries ago, still attract tourists with superb Roman architectural examples. Meknes -- an Imperial city built in Spanish and Moorish design, containing many historical structures, along with its natural beauty. Todra Gorge -- a nature-made great canyon on the east of Atlas Mountains, with even rocky walls, eroded by rivers Dades and Todra. Mouth-watering cuisine of the country: The culture of Morocco has been influenced by several foreign cultures like Mediterranean and European, apart from its very own African and Arabian traditions. So its cuisine has got many variations as well. One can easily find many foreign dishes here, along with local Berber or Moorish cuisine. Moroccan dishes are quite rich in flavor, including their sweets. The most popular local dishes are Tajine -- a cuisine prepared from meat and fruits, the traditional soup called Harira, and of course the national food item Couscous. The green tea with mint leaves are served everywhere, though various types of red or white wine and beer are available too. The cultural traditions of Morocco that can entertain the foreign tourists: The most popular local festival is Aid el Arch, celebrated every year pompously to commemorate the coronation of King Mohammad VI. Another festival is Fez, which is a great musical conference. Other immensely enjoyable celebrations of Morocco are South of Marakkesh -- a kind of fest where all types of commodities are displayed for sale; and Celebration of the Throne -- a ceremony celebrated with crackers. Morocco is very hospitable, with plenty of hotels, restaurants and casinos for the entertainment of tourists, smooth transport system all over the country, alongside its wonderfully rich cultural heritage. So it is really a life-time experience to visit and enjoy the African country of Morocco. youtube video url : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RGOKpUVCmr0

http://www.TravelsWithSheila.com The food in Morocco ran along the line of couscous and even more couscous, made from moistened semolina wheat, along with "tagines" - braised dishes cooked at low temperatures with chunks of meat, chicken or vegetarian...think "pot roast." "Medfouna" is a Moroccan pizza traditionally baked in the hot desert sands similar to a "calzone." Spicy meat or vegetables tucked inside a double layer of crust. These were all "good" but my favorite Morocco foods were -- ready for this? -- the olives and bread. An infinite number of different and luscious olives sold throughout the country and crusty, hot, pita-style bread fresh from the wood burning oven. Yum, yum, yum...

In March 2010, the Washington Moroccan American Club on its 20th anniversary celebrated Moroccan Americans' diverse cultural heritage through a multi-cultural, multi-disciplinary experience. Through 20 different events in and around Washington, D.C., the celebration focused on important issues involving Morocco and Moroccan-Americans with political, social, educational and cultural themes and overtones as well as entertainment. From women's rights and empowerment, cultural autonomy, press and media, environmental awareness and advocacy, and the Peace Corps experience in Morocco, to Morocco in cinema, Moroccan cooking, business, literature, music, travel and sports, the celebration touched on many subjects of interest to Moroccans, Moroccan Americans and their fellow citizens. Capturing the spirit of the month, one club member observed about her vision of the 20/20 events: "I want to see the Moroccan American community thrive. Sharing the Moroccan American culture adds to our community and its families...by broadening perspectives, diminishing stereotypes, and encouraging generosity, all of which are important both to me and to our community." Another club member added that the 20 years celebration is "our celebration of unity and love for each other," and that the 20/20 events recognize "the leadership of WMC [Washington Moroccan American Club]...for all of these years [of service and community building]." The Mayor of the District of Columbia extended his personal congratulations. In its "something for everyone" approach, the Club sponsored 20 memorable days of events, bringing together Moroccans, Moroccan-Americans and their fellow citizens of diverse backgrounds. Among the locations for the 20/20 events were distinguished venues, such as Johns Hopkins University (at its School of Advanced International Studies or SAIS), Georgetown University, the National Press Club, George Mason University, George Washington University, and the Goethe Institute; and family-oriented sites, including the McLean Community Center in McLean, VA, and Casablanca Restaurant in Alexandria, VA. The events were topped by a gala finale on March 28.

A girl of nine was among those who had been swept away by the raging waters of the Tamsourt River, media reports said. Around 100 mud-brick homes were partly or totally destroyed and 100 roads, including six national highways, were cut off in the floods, officials said. Flash floods are fairly common in Morocco, which is popular with tourists. Flooding around the ancient city of Marrakesh left tour buses briefly stranded, local media reported. Rescue operations saved "200 people in danger, among them 40 helped by army and royal guard helicopters", the AFP news agency quotes an interior ministry statement as saying. About 130 all-terrain rescue vehicles and 335 inflatable boats and other vessels were being used to search for the missing, the ministry said. In the southern city of Guelmim, 24 people were killed by a flash flood that swept through a dry river bed. Many of the dead and missing came from families that were trapped in vehicles swept away by the waters, the Associated Press news agency quotes local media as saying. Travel video about destination Morocco. Casablanca, Marrakesh, Moorish architecture, mosques and minarets -- here history lives on!
http://www.WatchMojo.com presents... A handy travel guide for anyone planning a visit to the country of Morocco.
Morocco Travel Guide 2015, Morocco Tourism & Vacations 2015, Morocco Trip 2015 Travel Videos HD, World Travel Guide http://www.youtube.com/subscription_center?add_user=World1Tube Morocco is a North African country that has a coastline on both the North Atlantic Ocean and the Mediterranean Sea. It has borders with Western Sahara to the south, Algeria to the east and the Spanish North African territories of Ceuta and Melilla on the Mediterranean coast in the north. It is just across the Strait of Gibraltar from Gibraltar. See in Morocco ================== At just a few hours from the main European cities, Morocco has everything to overwhelm you with the amazing colors, smells and sounds of Islamic Africa. Imagine bustling souqs and spice markets, stunning mosques, white-washed sea side towns and medieval city centres. With panoramic views varying from snow-covered peaks in the High Atlas to the endless sand dunes of the Sahara, no-one ever has to be bored in this beautiful country. Movie-famous Casablanca might be the most famous of Moroccan cities and is home to the huge Hassan II mosque, the second largest mosque in the world with only the Grand Mosque of Mecca surpassing it. Many travellers quickly leave this vibrant and modernist metropolis on a search for a more traditional Moroccan experience, but admiring the impressive colonial architecture, Hispano-Moorish and art-deco outlook of the city centre is actually time well spent. Marrakesh, known as the "Red City" and probably the most prominent former imperial capital, will leave you with memories to cherish for life. Spend your days wandering through the lively souqs, admiring the old gates and defensive walls, see the Saadian Tombs, the remnants of the El Badi Palace and visit the Koutoubia Mosque with its 12th century minaret. However, when evening falls make sure to head back to Jamaa el-Fnaa, the largest square in Africa, as it fills up with steam-producing food stalls. Indulge in the bustling activity there, listen to Arabic story tellers, watch magicians and Chleuh dancers. Fez, once Morocco's capital, is another gorgeous imperial city. Get lost in its lovely labyrinth of narrow Medieval streets, enjoy its huge medina, see the beautiful city gates, the ancient University of Al-Karaouine and the Bou Inania Madrasa. Also, make sure to visit a traditional leather tanning factory. The city of Meknes is often called the "Versailles of Morocco" for its beauty. Its lovely Spanish-Moorish style centre is surrounded by tall city walls with impressive gates and you'll be able to see the 17th century blend of European and Islamic cultures even today. For a more laid-back experience of city life, catch a sea breeze at Asilah or lovely Essaouira. The blue-washed town of Chefchaouen is an old time travellers' favourite and a great starting point to explore the impressive High Atlas Mountains. Climb Jebel Toubkal, the highest peak in North-Africa, passing lovely adobe villages and exploring the gorgeous Ourika and Amizmiz valleys on the way. The stunning panoramic view from the top will make it worth every bit of your effort to get there. Other praised hiking routes lead through the beautiful Ameln Valley in the Anti-Atlas and the wooded Rif Mountains in the very north. Hop on a camel back for a trip through the golden Sahara sand dunes at Erg Chebbi, near Merzouga. Spend the night in a desert tent, under the incredibly starred sky. The Sahara is also accessible near the town of Zagora; it's easier to get to from Marrakech but doesn't have the imposing dunes of Erg Chebbi. Somewhat less easy to reach but therefor also less crowded are the dunes of Erg Chigaga near M'hamid. On your way to the desert, make sure not to miss the stunning Todra gorge near Tinghir. The ancient fortified city of Aït-Benhaddou is another must-see sight. Although rainstorms damage the mud-brick kasbahs time and again, this mostly abandoned village remains an impressive sight and has been the decor for a range of movies, including Lawrence of Arabia and Gladiator. Do in Morocco ================ Hammams ======== There are two types of Hammam (steam baths) across Morocco. The first is the tourist hammam, where you can go and be pampered and scrubbed by an experienced staff member. As these are promoted only to tourists they are the more expensive option with pricing usually around DH 150 for a hammam. They can not be technically referred to as a proper hammam, but they are nonetheless enjoyable, especially for the timid. Your hotel can recommend a good one. The second option is to visit a "popular" Hammam. Popular hammams are the places where the locals go. Ask the staff at your hotel where they would go.

Top Tips for Traveling to Morocco.
Travel video about destination Casablanca in Morocco. Casablanca, a city of many faces, Oriental yet modern. From being a former Berber settlement to today's commercial metropolis, around 80 percent of Moroccan industry is concentrated in Casablanca, the country's financial, technological and commercial centre and also Africa's largest seaport. Jutting into the sea is the Hassan II Mosque. 'It was He who created Heaven and Earth in six days!', this paragraph from the Koran inspired Hassan II to build his momentous mosque that extends for nine hectares, a superlative construction that could comfortably accommodate the entire Petersdom in Rome. Casablanca is a large city surrounded by many ancient villages where life has changed little since ancient times. The Stade Mohammed V is the centre of Casablanca and is located between the old Medina and the new town with its large residential districts. Several administrative buildings, mosques and Art Deco buildings are situated in the vicinity of the Stade Mohammed and there's also a pedestrian-only shopping mall. The head offices of numerous banks, insurance and commercial companies are located within the modern and flamboyant city centre with its imposing skyscrapers. The souks contain a labyrinth of alleys and each usually has its own specialty. The souks are the perfect place for those who wish to experience typical Morocco as the aromas and sounds of their narrow alleys are far more descriptive than any travel guide. Casablanca captivates all those who experience it. This former coastal city of seafarers and pirates is today both lively and contemporary with all the atmosphere and flair of a bygone time.

Syed Mahmood @learnwithsyed https://www.facebook.com/learnwithsyed Email: learnwithsyed@gmail.com Are Snails Halal? Brief Answer: Yes. The permissibility of eating snails applies to both types, both land and sea snails. If they are cooked alive there is nothing wrong with that, because land snails have no blood so they need not be slaughtered properly and the blood extracted, and sea snails come under the general permissibility of sea game and food. Long Answer: Praise be to Allaah. Snails are of two types, land snails and sea snails. Land snails come under the same heading as “insects and vermin” which have no blood that flows. Sea snails come under the heading of shellfish, which are sea animals. In al-Mawsoo’ah al-‘Arabiyyah al-‘Aalamiyyah it says: The snail is a invertebrate sea animal, and it is a kind of shellfish. Most snails have an external shell; some snails have a small flat shell above or under the skin, but most do not have a shell at all. Land snails have a pair of antennae, with an eye at the end of the longer antenna. The large sand snail is regarded as a harmful pest, because it has a voracious appetite for plants. Its length reaches 10 cm. End quote. Secondly: With regard to the ruling on eating snails: 1. Land snails come under the ruling on eating “insects”. The majority of scholars are of the view that it is haraam. Al-Nawawi (may Allaah have mercy on him) said in al-Majmoo’ (9/16): The view of the scholars concerning land insects … our view is that it is haraam. This was the view of Abu Haneefah, Ahmad and Dawood. Maalik said: it is halaal. End quote. Ibn Hazm (may Allaah have mercy on him) said: It is not permissible to eat land snails or any other “insects and vermin”, such as geckos, cockroaches, ants, bees, flies, wasps, worms, lice, fleas, bedbugs, mosquitoes or anything else of that type, because Allaah says (interpretation of the meaning): “Forbidden to you (for food) are: Al Maitah (the dead animals)” and “unless you are able to slaughter it (before its death)” [al-Maa’idah 5:3]. And there is sound proof that slaughter can only be done in the neck or upper chest, so if it is not possible to slaughter it, then there is no way one can eat it unless it is dead i.e., not slaughtered properly, so it is haraam. End quote. Al-Muhalla (6/76, 77). The Maalikis did not stipulate that a creature which has no flowing blood should be slaughtered, rather they included it under the same ruling as locusts, and its slaughter is by boiling, roasting, or piercing it with a stick or needle until it is dead, whilst saying the name of Allaah over it. In al-Mudawwanah (1/542) it says: Maalik was asked about something in the Maghreb (North Africa) which is called a snail, that is found in the desert on the trees – can it be eaten? He said: I think it is like the locust. If it is taken alive and boiled or roasted, I do not think there is anything wrong with eating it, but if it is found dead, it should not be eaten. End quote. In al-Muntaqa Sharh al-Muwatta’ (3/110) by Abu’l-Waleed al-Baaji (may Allaah have mercy on him) it says: If that is proven, then the ruling on snails is the same as the ruling on locusts. Maalik said its slaughtering is by boiling or being pierced with a stick or needle until it dies, and the name of Allaah should be mentioned whilst doing so, as it is mentioned when cutting off the heads of locusts. End quote. 2. Sea snails are halaal, because of the general permission with regard to eating seafood. Allaah says (interpretation of the meaning): “Lawful to you is (the pursuit of) water game and its use for food — for the benefit of yourselves and those who travel” [al-Maa’idah 5:96] al-Bukhaari narrated that ‘Umar ibn al-Khattaab (may Allaah be pleased with him) said: “Water game means what is hunted, and its food is what the sea throws out (onto the shore).” al-Bukhaari narrated from Shurayh, the companion of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him), that he said: “Everything in the sea is madhbooh (slaughtered).” But we have not seen any hadeeth which suggests that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) ate snails. To sum up: The permissibly of eating snails applies to both types, both land and sea snails. If they are cooked alive there is nothing wrong with that, because land snails have no blood so that it might be said that they must be slaughtered properly and the blood extracted, and sea snails come under the general permissibility of sea game and food. And Allaah knows best. http://islamqa.info/en/114855
Travel video about destination Marrakesh in Morocco. Marrakesh, the 'red pearl' of Morocco was founded by Yusuf ibn Tashfin in 1062. It is one of the country's four Royal Cities. Up to the beginning of the 20th century, the city was a trading centre for both the north of Morocco and the Sahara and the monarchs of various dynasties made Marrakesh their capital city. The large souks of Marrakesh's Medina are divided into numerous sections and stock just about everything known to man! In spite of the city's apparent calm, there is much activity and the traffic is surprisingly well disciplined. Marrakesh has the largest souks in Morocco. As well as shoes and clothing, they stock all the necessities of life and of course, bargaining and haggling are the norm! Daily life in the souks is dominated by trade. They are a vital meeting place and trading centre for the farmers of the High Atlas. Those who wish to experience Moroccan daily life can do so here and a stroll through the narrow alleys, taking in the city's sounds and aromas, explains far more than any travel guide. Djemaa el Fna is the 'Square of the Beheaded' and is Marrakesh's most famous attraction with snake charmers, musicians and storytellers. In 2001, the Square of the Beheaded was designated by Unesco as a World Heritage Site. Built in 1158, the minaret of the Koutoubia Mosque is the symbol of the city. The 77 metre tall sandstone minaret served as the model for the Giralda in Seville and the Hassan Tower in Rabat. Most of the mosque was built by Spanish prisoners of war. Marrakesh is an historic bridge that unites both urban and nomadic cultures, an exotic gateway to Africa and a captivating window to Europe!
Travel video about destination Rabat in Morocco. Rabat is the capital of Morocco and also its royal seat of power. The main residence of King Mohammed the Sixth is a fascinating modern metropolis. Along with its monumental works of art, it is the fourth oldest of the Makhzen cities, is also one of Morocco's most important. Cafés and workshops reflect daily life and most of the city's souks are divided into specialized areas with items such as leather goods, blankets and carpets for sale and with a little haggling, it's possible to purchase quality handicrafts at a very modest price! The Kasbah des Udayas was built by Yaqub al-Mansur in the 12th century. It is located at Rabat's most elevated point and is like a village within the city. The eight metre high wall once protected the Kasbah and its inhabitants. The fortress is inhabited to the present day. Barred windows create an Andalusian ambience. The Kasbah is one of the most popular though most expensive addresses in Rabat. Throughout the centuries, the Moroccan coast was dominated by pirates but the might of European colonialists put an end to their dubious activities. The mausoleum of Mohammed V was built in 1967 and the tomb complex contains a mosque, a mausoleum and a small memorial that contains images of the king. At the end of the 12th century, Yaqub al-Mansur constructed the largest mosque in the Maghreb. At a height of 60 metres, its minaret was taller than any other in North Africa. Four hundred columns support the prayer room and it has 14 gates. Rabat is a fascinating capital city and royal residence - an exotic world that lies between both occident and orient.

Anthony Bourdain had no reservations about a move to CNN. Shortly after concluding an eight-season stint at the helm of his popular Travel Channel series, the equally popular Emmy-winning host came to the news network searching for "Parts Unknown." In the hourlong weekend series -- similar in premise to Travel's "No Reservations" -- Bourdain explores the world to, he says, "eat and drink with people without fear and prejudice ... they open up to you in ways that somebody visiting who is driven by a story may not get." Enticed by the opportunity to experience cultures rarely visited by American TV, such as in the Congo, Libya and Myanmar, the chef and best-selling author also takes viewers to Colombia, Peru, Morocco and, closer to home, Koreatown in Los Angeles.

A note was reportedly found in the toilet, with the word 'Bomb' written on it, the Turkish Airlines press office said. The AirLive.net Twitter account, which shares aviation news, said that the TK15 jet reportedly landed safely at Casablanca. The Boeing 777 with 256 passengers on board landed in the North African city at about 12:30 GMT. Police teams searched the entire cargo but didn’t find any bombs. According to Moroccan aviation authorities, Casablanca Airport was operating normally after the incident. On Saturday, Turkish Airlines flight TK-52 from Istanbul to Tokyo, Japan, had to return to Istanbul’s Ataturk International Airport after a bomb threat. On Sunday, a Turkish Airlines flight from Istanbul bound for Tokyo turned back shortly after take-off when a note reading "C4 Cargo" was found on the lavatory door, Turkish media said. No explosives were found on that aircraft. The Brazil-bound aircraft was due to resume its flight once it was deemed safe, the spokeswoman said. Moroccan aviation authorities said Casablanca airport was operating normally after the landing, and the aircraft was undergoing the normal procedures for such an incident. Officials for Brazil's aviation authority and the private airport operator in Sao Paulo had no additional information. Al Jazeera 2015-04-19Morocco (Arabic: المغرب al-Maghrib ; Berber: ⵍⵎⴻⵖⵔⵉⴱ / ⴰⵎⴻⵔⵔⵓⴽElmeɣrib / Amerruk), officially the Kingdom of Morocco, is a country located in North Africa. It has a population of about 32 million and an area of 710,850 km², including the disputed region of the Western Sahara, seen by and mostly administered by Morocco as the Southern Provinces. Morocco is part of the Maghreb region, in addition to Tunisia, Algeria, Mauritania, and Libya, with which it shares cultural, historical and linguistic ties.
Morocco is a constitutional monarchy with an elected parliament. The King of Morocco holds vast executive powers, including the power to dissolve the parliament. Executive power is exercised by the government but more importantly by the king himself. Legislative power is vested in both the government and the two chambers of parliament, the Assembly of Representatives and the Assembly of Councillors. The king can also issue decrees called dahirs which have the force of law. The latest Parliamentary elections were held in November 25, 2011, and were considered by some neutral observers to be mostly free and fair. Voter turnout in these elections was estimated to be 43% of registered voters, but only about 25% of Moroccan adult citizens actually voted. The rest either chose not to vote or they were not registered as voters. The political capital is Rabat, but the largest city is Casablanca; other main cities include Marrakesh, Tetouan, Tangier, Salé, Fes, Agadir, Meknes, Oujda, Kenitra, and Nador.
I dreamt I was in Morocco
Strange odours were in the air
And I was in love with a princess
With black curly hair
I dreamt I was in Morocco
And haunted was every way
The princess was abducted
And I was forced to stay
Now I'm back
With no princess by my side
There ain't no cure
For my restless, lonely nights
And now I'm back
With a princess on my mind
I wish I could go back in dreams
And I go on to find her
I dreamt I was in Morocco
I was searching in dark despair
Felt some people's eyes on me
But their hearts didn't care
My heart is still in Morocco
Still wounded still wandering around
Still in the princess's possession
Still keeping its ground
The astral map that's overhead
Watch it while it is unfolding
The fabric of the universe
Out of which this earth is woven
The moon is a mirror alike
She returns my loving
Wheels are turning before my eyes
Reels of film are running by
I can see miles passing
The astral map that's overhead
Watch it while it is unfolding
Maybe it won't be that far
It won't be long before we're getting
To enjoy this setting
We're getting closer to where we're heading
We've been chosen
To enjoy this setting
That astral map that's overhead
Watch it while it is unfolding
Wheels are turning before my eyes
Reels of film are running by
I can see miles passing
Into fata morgana's I melt
Maybe we didn't belong,
maybe the void was there between us all along.
Noone can make me forget like you.
You had a dream to pursue,
I tried to build my aspirations next to you, and now -
pieces of broken history is all you give to me.
So here we are, my dear, just me and you,
another day just passed away, and, baby,
here we are again, and nothing's new.
I don't know where we went wrong.
I always thought that we would sing our happy song.
Noone can keep me into like you.
You always saw, what was mine.
I haven't hear that voice I know in quite a while, and now -
it seems like our time has come, 'cause we have come undone.
So here we are, my dear, just me and you,
another day just passed away, and, baby,
here we are, my dear, and nothing's new.
Someday soon we'll walk alone to rip ourselves apart.
Baby, walk with me,
'cause we are still the way we were,
and all our desperate moves will lead us only nowhere.
Baby, move on.
'Cause here we are, my dear, just me and you,
another day just passed away, and, baby,
Oh she's my lady
Oh, she's been my lover
Now she's hiding, hiding undercover
They're going to tell her
She's got to meet her brother
For the honour, the honour of the other
I want to help her
I want to hide her
I want to love her,
But first I've got to find her
She's been hiding,
Hiding undercover
From the honour, the honour of the other
I want to tell her
Baby please don't go
Don't you go back to Morocco
She's a goddess,
Oh she's been a lier
See the witch hunt
The flames are getting higher
All the secrets we tried so hard to cover
Have been discovered, discovered by the other
I want to tell her
Baby please don't go
I've got to tell her
Baby please don't go
I want to tell her
Baby please don't go
Don't you go back to Morocco
She's a goddess,
Oh she's been a lier
See the witch hunt
The flames are getting higher
All the secrets we tried so hard to cover
Have been discovered, discovered by the other
I want to tell her
I want to tell her
Baby please don't go
I've got to tell her
Baby please don't go
I want to tell her
Baby please don't go
Don't you go back to Morocco
Oh she's my lady
Oh, she's been my lover
Now she's hiding, hiding undercover
He's going to kill her
It's going to be her brother
For the honour, the honour of the other
I want to tell her
Baby please don't go
